Currently, advanced countries are absorbed in vision research related to 'Technology Convergence', which is a 21 century Megatrend. They establish Technology Convergence strategy based on information and communication technology (ICT), and vision research that utilizes the scenario method is actively progressing. In this paper, scenario-based vision research case study using WWRF (Wireless World Research Forum), AmI (Ambient Intelligence), and mITF (mobile IT Forum) is conducted. The proposed 'engineering scenario method' is based on the case study results. Therefore, a future strategy study using the proposed scenario-based method is analyzed. The 'engineering scenario method' can provide a new direction in vision strategy research.
A Study on Complex Threat Emulation for Situation Awareness of ASE System

As the substantial increase in battlefield density, multiple and complex weapon systems, Ensuring the Survivability of the platform has been emphasized. Most of platforms have equipped with ASE (Aircraft Survivability Equipment) system in order to protect the platform and operator against at modernized hostile weapon. ASE system enhance the survivability of the platform through providing accurate situation awareness information by detecting and countermeasuring hostile threats. One of Key factor of the AE system performance is handling multiple and complex threats. In this study, it describes the fact that the performance of ASE system with proposed threat integration algorithm is verified in the developed threat emulation system and also, suggests system verification method before deployment by dealing with complex threat situation.
A Study on Analysis of Beat Spectra in a Radar System

A specific radar system can be implemented more easily using the frequency modulated continuous wave comparing with the pulse Doppler radar. It also has the advantage of LPI (low probability of interception) because of the low power and wide bandwidth characteristics. These radars are usually used to cover the short range area and to obtain the high resolution measurements of the target range and velocity information. The transmitted waveform is used in the mixer to demodulate the received echo signal and the resulting beat signal can be obtained. This beat signal is analyzed using the FFT method for the purpose of clutter removal, detection of a target, extraction of velocity and range information, etc. However, for the case of short signal acquisition time, this FFT method can cause the serious leakage effect which disables the detection of weaker echo signals masked by strong side lobes of the clutter. Therefore, in this paper, the weighting window method is analyzed to suppress the strong side lobes while maintaining the proper main lobe width. Also, the results of FFT beat spectrum analysis are shown under various environments.
Design and fabrication of power detector for multi-band six-port direct conversion method

In this paper, the power detectors using metamaterials were designed and fabricated for multi-band six-port direct conversion method. The RF short-stubs for power detector were designed by using metamaterials which provide multi-band characteristics. The power detectors with metamaterial RF short-stub were analyzed and fabricated by using lumped and distributed element. The measured results of metamaterial power detectors show the good agreement with the simulation results. The performance of lumped-metamaterial RF short-stub shows the insertion loss below 1 dB and the good frequency response characteristics. Also, the distributed-metamaterial RF short-stub shows the good frequency response characteristics and the insertion loss under that of lumped-metamaterial RF short-stub. The multi-band power detectors with metamaterial RF short-stub detect the input RF signal in the designed dual frequency bands very well.

The shortage of fossil fuel drives researchers to find a new way to increases energy efficiency. In this paper, we propose a method to control the direction and speed of an air conditioner using a thermal image and fuzzy controlling method, which results in the increase of energy efficiency. The thermal image is first converted into a color temperature image which represents the temperature range from
. The temperature image is divided into 5 columns and the distribution of them is used to analyze room temperature and control an air conditioner. The proposed method was applied to 300 by 400 thermal images. When the performance of the proposed method was compared to existing systems in energy efficiency, the proposed method was better than existing methods, which is clear from experimental results.
Bit Split Method for Efficient Channel Estimation in UWA Channel

Underwater acoustic(UWA) communication has multipath error because of reflection by sea-level and sea-bottom. The multipath of UWA channel causes signal distortion and error floor. In this paper, we proposed split input bits of channel decoder using method of maximum value, average value, LLR value for optimal estimation. Channel coding method is LDPC(N size=16000) standard in DVB-S2. As shown in simulation results, the performance of LLR value method is better than other methods.

A Wireless Access for Vehicular Environment (WAVE) system based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is made for vehicle to vehicle wireless communications. The physical layer standard of the WAVE system is very similar to that of the IEEE802.11a wireless local area network (WLAN). Therefore, the performance of the WAVE system is degraded by continual channel variation in the WAVE multipath fading channels after starting initial channel estimation. In this paper, we research the performance improvement of equalization in 64 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) transmission in WAVE environment. The proposed algorithms use the training sequence and the midamble sequence which is used for fast channel variation such as WAVE environments. Additionally, various interpolation methods are also used for the channel tracking.

The integrity monitoring of anomalous GPS signal have been researched because of the degradation of GPS satellite performance. It is known that anomalous GPS signal can occur by failure of GPS satellite, sudden increase of ionosphere delay error, SA, wrong modeling for navigation parameters from control segment, and an electromagnetic wave interference, etc. In case of GPS anomaly by satellites can arise from carrier frequency, code and navigation message. In this paper, the scenarios with navigation message errors were made by using GPS simulator, and the influences of GPS navigation message error to receiver were analysed. The anomalies of preamble, bits related TOW count message, subframe ID in HOW, bits related satellite healthy, and the other navigation message errors were described and simulated. Also, the number of satellites, DOP and pseudorange are analyzed to know how the anomalous signal can affect on GPS receiver.

Although recent years whole of shipbuilding market is seriously stagnant, an importance of ship fundamental technology issues has been increased. Accordingly diversity attempts to get various solutions are in progress by national support. Therefore, in this paper it deals with a remote operation control system which is a part of propulsion thruster system. it is proposed a propulsion thruster remote operation control system which is developed by localization technology as well as the methods not only to design hardware and software but to develop hardware and software.
Performance evaluation of cooperative MAC protocol at ad hoc networks under real traffic environments

In this paper, the performance of a RCO-MAC protocol is evaluated using a different traffic model. Data frames are assumed to generate based on an exponential distribution from one source node and then directly to be stored into the input buffer in the source node. System throughput, average access delay and average system delay are used as a performance measure. Performance evaluation is carried out by the computer simulation. Numerical results show that the RCO-MAC scheme offers 18% higher system throughput than the rDCF scheme. In addition, the numerical results show that the RCO-MAC protocol also offers the better average system delay under any traffic load than that by the rDCF scheme, which was not obtained in the previous research due to the saturated traffic model.
Performance Improvements of WiBro System Using the LVQ Blind Equalization

WiBro(Wireless Broadband Internet) is the standard of high-speed portable internet based on OFDMA/TDD (Orthogonal frequency division multiple access / Time division duplexing) techniques, and the subset of consolidated version of IEEE802.16e Wireless MAN standard. In this paper, we propose performance improvements of WiBro system using the LVQ(Learning Vector Quantization) blind equalization. Proposed method used the prefiltering LVQ neural network blind equalization in the Broadband WiBro system receiver. The prefiltering LVQ neural network constellates 16QAM that is transmitter data shape and the blind equalization removes ICI(Inter Carrier Interference). To verificate the proposed method usability, the MSE(Mean Square Error) and the BER(Bit Error Rate) are simulated. The simulation results shown that is improved the performances of the proposed WiBro system using the LVQ blind equalization than the existing WiBro system.
Modification of the integer transform in H.264/AVC for lossless compression

This papers describes modification of the integer transform used in H.264/AVC in order to efficiently apply to lossless compression. The previous reversible integer transform is not efficient for lossless compression due to large dynamic range of the transform coefficients. To reduce the problem, efficient and reversible integer transforms are proposed. The modified transforms are designed based on the lifting scheme for fast transforms. This paper introduces signal flow graphs for the proposed fast transforms and provides corresponding experimental results. The results indicate that the proposed modified reversible integer transform are superior to the previous transform in terms of lossless compression efficiency.

The information captured by imaging devices such as CCD or CIS may contain external noises through the processes of passing signals or storing images. In this paper, we propose a Modified Sigma Filter (MSF) algorithm to reduce such noises. In experiment, we verified that our MSF algorithm showed better performance in PSNR and 1D plot of simulation results compared with Gaussian Filter (GF), Local Sigma Filter (LSF). Tested images include random Gaussian Noises.
The Application of Agent and Advertising in 3D Sports Game

This research shows how autonomous character agents work in 3D sports game and its application to advertising. It is a kind of interdisciplinary study between game and advertising. In other words, advertising can be used a beneficiary model in game industry. For the purpose of analyzing the role of agents, 3D table-tennis game and advertising tools are developed. The role of agents is booming up and focusing on the game by their voices and texts. In game, several famous brands are showed up as a mean of advertising. This study analyzed the role of agents and advertising from the game user's position. For validity and reliability of the research, questionnaires were analyzed. As a results, several facts are found. Firstly, the agents worked positively as a game boomer. More than half of the respondents answered the agents are useful for the game. Secondly, the advertising tools showed up on the game are helpful to understand the brand. In other words, the game is contributed to build up the brand image. These kinds of attempts may be significant in that the agents are performed as a parter of functional and woman-oriented game. And advertising brands when placed in the game could play the role of the game item or quest. The proposed method can provide the basic references for developing 3D game as an interdisciplinary study.
Mixed Task Scheduling Using Synthetic Utilization

O(1) time synthetic utilization is not considered periodic tasks, except scheduling methods for aperiodic tasks where one of the aperiodic tasks is a scheduling method. But really aperiodic tasks scheduling method is composed of mixed task types. Aperiodic task scheduling method guarantee an analysis of the schedualibility of aperiodic task. The set of mixed tasks periodic and aperiodic tasks scheduling method uses synthetic utilization that is presented in this paper. The new method shows that schedulability increases 20% aperiodic server method.
Analysis of Shrunken-Interleaved Sequence Based on Cellular Automata

The shrinking generator which is one of clock-controlled generator is a very simple generator with good cryptographic properties. A nonlinear sequence generator based on two 90/150 maximum length cellular automata can generate pseudorandom sequences at each cell of cellular automata whose characteristic polynomials are same. The nonlinear sequence generated by cellular automata has a larger period and a higher linear complexity than shrunken sequence generated by LFSRs. In this paper we analyze shrunken-interleaved sequence based on 90/150 maximum length cellular automata. We show that the sequence generated by nonlinear sequence generator based on cellular automata belongs to the class of interleaved sequence. And we give an effective algorithm for reconstructing unknown bits of output sequence based on intercepted keystream bits.
Development of a RIA-based Dynamic Mashup Service for Ocean Environment

A mashup is a web page or application that uses and combines information, contents or Open APIs available on the web to create a new service. The mashup developed by the need not combination of simple information can contribute to new added-values with practicality and convenience. Thus, in this paper, we want to develop a RIA-based dynamic mashup service for the users considering weather forecast and marine information importantly. We design and implement the system that it can register a number of information about a domain dynamically through registration process based on the map and present a mark of domain location on the map and the information including internal environment, external environment and weather of related to the domain within a webpage. Implemented service need not require a tedious process visiting other web sites every time to confirm the relevant information because we can see simultaneously related information with a map within a page.
Slip Estimated Sensorless Vector Controller

A sensorless vector control of an induction motor provides a good performance in the middle and high speed region. However, in the low speed region, it is very difficult to implement the sensorless vector controller because the feeding voltage measured by the motor is very low. In this paper, we designed the sensorless vector controller of an induction motor using the estimate of the slip frequency. To verify the performance of the proposed controller, an experiment has been performed.
Analysis of Threshold Voltage Roll-off for Ratio of Channel Length and Thickness in DGMOSFET

In this paper, the variations of threshold voltage characteristics for ratio of channel length and thickness have been alanyzed for DG(Double Gate)MOSFET having top gate and bottom gate. Since the DGMOSFET has two gates, it has advantages that contollability of gate for current is nearly twice and SCE(Short Channel Effects) shrinks in nano devices. The channel length and thickness in MOSFET determines device size and extensively influences on SCEs. The threshold voltage roll-off, one of the SCEs, is large with decreasing channel length. The threshold voltage roll-off and drain induced barrier lowing have been analyzed with various ratio of channel length and thickness for DGMOSFET in this study.
Improving Symbolic Model Checking Performance Withy Retiming

This paper presents an application of retiming to model checking, a branch of formal verification. Retiming can change the transition relation of a circuit without changing its input-output behaviour by relocating its registers. With the retiming, a given circuit can have a different structure more adequate for model checking. This paper proposes a cost function to reflect the number of registers and the characteristic of its transition relation and develops a heuristic annealing algorithm to search efficiently the circuit structures obtained by retiming. Experimental results show that the proposed method can improve the model checking performance.
A Study on the Electromyography Change for Analysis of rectus femoris muscle stiffness with muscle fatigues

When the muscle is contracted by continuous and same, the force takes fatigue and stiffness. The aim of this study was to know how the fatigue and muscle stiffness change during an isometric contraction. Surface Electro myography(EMG) signal monitoring system and ultrasonic transducer set up the same muscle stem, subjects contract his right femoris muscle by submaximal isometric contraction(50% of MVC) until exhaustion. Before and after the test, muscle stiffness was measured and EMG was measured during the contraction. As time goes by, muscle fatigue was increased. and the stiffness was shown strongly after the contraction. These results show if the muscle becomes more and more fatigued, the circulation of muscle is delayed although the contraction doesn't happen. So muscle stiffness is increased.

In middle and high school to learn the principles of fluid mechanics to Experiments in space and time constraints and difficulties for the study of the principles of fluid mechanics to the problem is superficial. In this paper, Pascal's principles, Archimedes' Principle, Bernoulli's Theorem, etc. learning about the fluid mechanics and implemented in Web Browser, In connection with flash and HTML, web simulation is to implement. Web Based Instruction program that implemented a comparative analysis became an effect of 15% to industrial total high school students in satisfaction, Interest, Achievement. The fluid mechanics education through engineering design and web design through the actual web server is implemented on the Internet over broadband. Department of Education, this study the fluid mechanics and the Internet will contribute to the development of distance education.

As basic data about students' career education in high school are being managed only in forms of NEIS, which is supported by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and the information for career education that homeroom teachers have operated by off-line system, it is hard to use them as practical decision support system for students' career education. In this study, we intend to design and embody web-based Student Management Total System by constructing DB of students' e-portfolios, school records and counselling data etc. As a result, teachers can carry out vocational education that is considered students' talents and aptitude, and we have a goal for promoting the growth of the students as the national human resources who have sound occupational consciousness through this education.
A Study of Mobile Patient Identification System Using EM4095

There is a vast field of application for RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) technology. In the case of hospitals, RFID can be used for organizing patient data. Generally, patient data has been handled with medical cards. In order to look up data about a patient, the medical card would have to be found first, within a lot of other medical cards, by hand or with a computer. This is a very inconvenient system. Also, if the card is searched by the name of the patient, fatal medical accidents may occur in cases of mix-ups. If remote RFID Tag monitoring systems are applied in this case, the patient data would be accessible in the hospital. This article will discuss the grafting of RFID systems and wireless data communicating technology. The EM4095 chip, which uses 125KHz carrier waves was used in this study. And a Bluetooth module was added for wireless data communication. The ATMEGA128 microcomputer was used to control the RFID system and wireless module. A LCD monitor was connected to the extension port for nurses to view patient data, and also, the same information was displayed on PC monitors for doctors to see. The circuit was designed to consume minimal amounts of electricity for portability, and to transmit Tag ID's in environments with a lot of noise. The article is concluded with a diagram of the whole system, and performance of each data transmitting section has been analyzed.
Design of New Smart Switch with Remote Power Control and Standby Power Management Function

In this paper, new smart switch that can monitor and control the power consumption and standby power in real-time by implementing an embedded web-server is proposed. The proposed switch can perform the following functions: measuring the electric power like commercial smart meter product, monitoring the power consumption in real-time in distant places through wire and wireless devices, and finally controlling ON/OFF of each switch. In addition, it also contains auto power-shutoff functions for standy power, overvoltage and overcurrent just like existing power-saving outlet and mulitap. Finally, the proposed smart switch has lower hardware and power consumption than the existing products and can be commercialized as a small-sized product by using exclusive embedded web-server of its own, rather than using PC for monitoring and remote control.
Implantable Sensor Node for Temperature Monitoring of Laying Hens

Recently, USN technology has been spreaded to all areas of application systems. In addition to urban application systems such as u-City, u-Home and u-Education, u-Farming(ubiquitous farming) technology supports agricultural innovations in the farm. In the u-farming environment for livestock or plant production, key environmental factors i.e. temperature, humidity and luminosity are to be set optimally to increase productivity and safety by applying USN technology. This approach could change agricultural environment. In this paper, we proposed an implantable micro sensor node to be implanted into laying hen to monitor deep body temperature. This sensor node uses SoC(System-on-Chip) designed for USN. In addition to that, we discussed about further considerations on the practical use of proposed sensor node.

Recently, In the wireless sensor network, a study which guarantees integrity of not only data gathered from sensor node but also energy consumption of it is now going on. However, the existing study cannot guarantee data integrity and overhead of cluster head which merges data from sensor node. This paper proposes multi-path hash chain technique which guarantees integrity of merged data and reduces overhead of cluster head when cluster head merges with data transmitted from sensor node. The proposed technique forms multi-hash chain dividing main-path and assistance-path to guarantee data integrity of cluster head, when merges data. The assistance-path, which is used when main-path is not, supports integrity of sensor node while minimizing overhead of cluster head when sensor node is authenticate.
An Intelligent System of Marker Gene Selection for Classification of Cancers using Microarray Data

The method of cancer classification based on microarray could contribute to being accurate cancer classification by finding differently expressing gene pattern statistically according to a cancer type. Therefore, the process to select a closely related informative gene with a particular cancer classification to classify cancer using present microarray technology with effect is essential. In this paper, the system can detect marker genes to likely express the most differentially explaining the effects of cancer using ovarian cancer microarray data. And it compare and analyze a performance of classification of the proposed system with it of established microarray system using multi-perceptron neural network layer. Microarray data set including marker gene that are selected using ANOVA method represent the highest classification accuracy of 98.61%, which show that it improve classification performance than established microarray system.
The technique of an adaptive scheduling for a multi-tasking separation

As the substantial increment in program complexity and appearance of mega program, the programs need to be divided to small tasks with multiple partitions and performed with a priority based scheduling. And also, a program development has to be progressed according to diversify of development environment. For instance, there are some restrictions upon O/S environment such as embedded O/S or windows. Therefore, the adaptive scheduling technique which performs multiple task partitioning process, regardless environment or O/S, is suggested. In this study, In this study, the adaptive scheduling technique algorithm and its applied examples are described.
