The reception quality of broadcasting in car radio system may become poor due to the noise such as week signal strength, multipath, Adjacent Channel and so on. To improve this, some european nations and US. serve RDS(Radio Data System) on FM radio, AF(Alternative Frequency) and PI(Programme Identification) code contained information in RDS data are used to switch to the broadcasting having the best reception quality. There are many techniques and studies of maintaining the best reception quality. But many previous techniques are no longer the best way because RF chips are improved every year and noise components can be distinguished in detail. So this research will suggest the best switching technique to maintain the best reception quality.
Communication protocol for multi subscribers using radio equipments based on CSMA/CA

The PRC-999K radio widely used in Korean Army is half-duplex and also has the broadcasting radio wave character that all subscribers listen when one subscriber speaks in time. The radio data communication system configures a 1:1 unicast network between a command post and network members in a military fire control system. The system also applies CSMA/CA technique to avoid data collision and additionally applies SDLC protocol for efficiency and fast communication. This paper shows that allocating address to network members in serial order can reduce data transmitting/receiving time, and thereby a command post needs to broadcast data only one time and the assigned members can reply in order without data collision. It is validated through an experimental test.
Design and implementation of power-controlled front-end module for direct conversion receiver

The power-controlled six-port element that can control the local oscillator signal power and receiving RF signal power was designed and implemented in this paper. The direct conversion six-port element configuration was proposed, which provides the constant six-port output power by controlling the six-port input power with various signal strength. The direct conversion six-port element protects the power detector element of six-port receiver from the saturation status and compensates the transmission performance degradation. For implementation of power-controlled six-port element, the power-controlled six-port element including the power controller was analyzed. The implemented power-controlled six-port element shows the power control capability of 36 dB and gain imbalance of about 1.6 dB, phase imbalance of about
in the frequency range of 1.69 GHz. The measured results show the good performance as direct conversion front-end element.
Design and Implementation of Dielectric Resonator Bandpass Filters with Various Time-Delay

Dielectric resonator bandpass filters with various time-delay at 800MHz were designed and fabricated in this paper. from the results of this study. first of all, good response. characteristics were measured for all cases. The insertion loss was below 2dB and flatness for ripple was below 0.2dB, whereas return loss was over 20dB, respectively. The measured delay time of the fabricated prototype were 6ns, 12ns and 200s, respectively and the flatness characteristics did not exceeding Ins for all cases. Furthermore, 2~4ns of flatness were measured for 2-hole dielectric block and other dielectric resonator filters with various delay time by combination of each prototypes filters were also implemented.

ENC(Electronic Navigational Chart) is an electronic chart including all kinds of information of nautical chart. Mariners have difficulty reading information because of clutter problem if display scale of ECDIS is lower than compilation scale of ENCs. IRO made SCAMIN improvement model included in S-65 Standard to settle this ENC clutter problem. This SCAMIN model includes both simple restriction that should satisfy some requirement and share geographic information, and hard restriction that should overlap with area object such as depth area, land area, dredge area. It also apply SCAMIN step of sounding value according to importance of safety navigation. In this paper, we analyzed the restrictions for SCAMIN model of S-65 Standard, developed algorithm and application to apply theses restrictions reasonably and mechanically. Also we applied this algorithm and application to Korea ENCs and evaluated the result of performance.
Smartphone Based Retouching Method for Watercolor Painting Effect Using Mean Shift Segmentation

We propose a retouching method that converts a photography taken by smartphone to a watercolor painting image using bilateral filtering and mean shift segmentation which are mostly used in image processing. The first step is to convert an input image to fit the screen resolution of smartphone. And next step is to weaken high frequency components of the image, while preserving the edge of image using the bilateral filtering. And after that we perform mean shift segmentation from the bilateral filtered image. We apply parameters of mean shift segmentation considering the processing speed of smartphone. Experimental result shows that our method can be applied to various types of image and bring better result.

The current marine internal communication systems are usually composed of NMEA0183, NMEA2000, and MiTS protocols which are located on the physical layer based on RS-422, RS-485, CAN, and EtherNet. However, general vessel communication method have a weak point that must establish the extra private line. But, the power line communication has advantage over general vessel communication method as it uses AC220V/DC24V without changing line. Therefore, we will propose a new bridge based on the DC-PLC(power Line communication) technique which support the NMEA0183 protocol inside vessel network systems.

The number of motor vehicle registrations in Korea is increasing steadily each year, driven by industry development and economic growth. The number of traffic accidents is also rapidly increasing. Korea has a relatively high number of traffic accidents among OECD member countries, and it ranks among the highest in traffic accident death rates. This death rate is higher compared to death rates as a proportion of the number of traffic accidents in each country. It is very common for drivers to lose consciousness in traffic collisions, which leads to a failure to carry out early emergency measures. In order to prevent such situations as well as hit-and-runs and people left uncared for after traffic accidents, there is a need for motor vehicle black boxes and accident report systems. This study addressed the need for an emergency evacuation system for people injured in traffic accidents and a secondary traffic accident prevention system by developing a motor vehicle emergency situation detection and report system combined with a black box, and materializing it as an actual system.
The Palm Line Extraction and Analysis using Fuzzy Method

In this paper, we propose a method to extract and analyze palm line with fuzzy method. In order to extract the palm part, we transform the original RGB color space to YCbCr color space and extract sin colors ranging Y:65-255, Cb:25-255, Cr:130-255 and use it as a threshold. Possible noise is removed by 8-directional contour tracking algorithm and morphological characteristic of the palm. Then the edge is extracted from that noise-free image by stretching method and sobel mask Then the fuzzy binarization algorithm is applied to remove any minute noise so that we have only the palm lines and the boundary of the hand. Since the palm line reading is done with major lines, we use the morphological characteristics of the analyzable palm lines and fuzzy inference rules. Experiment verifies that the proposed method is better in visibility and thus more analyzable in palm reading than the old method.
M2M Technology based Global Heathcare Platform

A global healthcare system based on M2M technology is proposed to support a good mobility, flexibility and scalability to the patients in 6LoWPAN. Sensor nodes integrated with wearable sensors are linked to gateway with IEEE 802.15.4 protocol and 6LoWPAN protocol for data acquisition and transmission purpose via external network. In the server, heart rate variability signals are obtained by signal processing and used for time and frequency domain performance analysis to evaluate the patient's health status. Our approach for global healthcare system with non-invasive and continuous IP-based communication is managed to process large amount of biomedical signals in the large scale of service range accurately.

Using sensor devices applied to various objects will be needed wireless network that it is easy to install in them. Tiny devices configured to processor that bas comparatively low computing ability are inappropriate to use devices that are wireless LAN, etc. In result, network devices needed to not only have simple communication protocol, but have Plug and Play function that it works as soon as it connects without installing any device driver. it also will industrially have both low power and low cost because of mobility of it. From IEEE 802.11 standard, WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network) included in LAN is being developed by WPAN WG(Working Group) on area with low power consumption and low complexity. In addition to, it is standardizing MAC and PRY of the standard that is expected to wirelessly communicate within 10m. WPAN will be used generally in the more near future because of both low power and low cost of Zigbee. In this paper we designed zigbee based user authentication module for a automotive smart-key system.

Therefore, IEEE, IETF is offering Handover technology between heterogeneous network. In this paper, the IEEE 802.21 MIH information server is based on the network. It proposes an improved handover that L3 layer to optimize the handover process use of FMIPv6 and executes simulation.

In some cases of u-health services, it is important and then required to pursue the location of users in real time because users could occasionally be in the situation beyond self-regulation. Location positioning has used two such typical techniques as trilateration and fingerprinting. A trilateration technique is usually based on three resident coordinates to identify the location of the target node. Ranging that measures distances between coordinates and the node is essential for applying the trilateration technique. Users especially in u-health services could be out of reachability in any such reasons as out of propagation ranges, fault of a communication counterpart, non-existence of possible communication facility, etc. This paper proposes a real-time locating method which can improve to identify and track the location of mobile objects. The method is based on references of identified mobile nodes as well as resident coordinates even though they may be partially out of communication reachability.

In the paper, to overcome the limitations of the existing black box, use various sensors and vehicle information blackbox store current state of the vehicle with OBD-II protocol using vehicle state information and store exact current location and direction information of the vehicle with Gyro sensor and GPS and use global time of GPS for synchronization of information. In addition, blackbox back the information up with wifi. because, when blackbox damaged, dirvers were able to verify the information.

Enhancement of Sleep Environment Using Sensor

In this paper, gather the sleep environment data of bedroom to sleeping and analyze the relationship between the obtained conditional data and the sleep. Based on this, system provide the optimal sleep environment of individual person by extracting the simulation model. The experiments of system was using H-MOTE2420 sensor composed of temperature/humidity sensor and ambient light sensors. We use difference image method in motion extraction from video for extraction of tossing and turning. In addition, it was entered such as ratio of fatigue, ratio of drinking, ratio of empty stomach as the information of weight can affect to sleep. Resultingly of experience, we can extract the optimal sleep environment. From now on, we will try to enhance to help to lead more pleasant daily life providing proper indoor environment changes depending on the situation even a partial of organic living environments such as eating and work as well as special sleep circumstances.

Smart Phone with domestic demand increasing rapidly, the utilization of multimedia services have become diverse. Smart Phone users use the copyrighted multimedia contents illegally from hacking their Smart Phone with Jail Breaking and Rooting. Legal issues according to the Korea-U.S. FTA. and high relevance with crime as mobile communication terminal, the utilization of created and saved digital evidence is high, the mobile forensic evidence study is required. Smart power grid is targeting to improve grid operation by integrating existing power IT technologies in the jeju smart grid field test. Real-time two-way communication and interoperability in power grid are essential to smart power grid. Adopting smart grid will increase security vulnerabilities in power grid by increasing the number of wireless sensors and the chances of the external exposure of communication networks. In addition, hackers can cause chaos in the power grid system with eavesdropping and forgery attacks in communication networks. Smart power grid is one of the most important systems in deploying smart grid, and it is important to design security system systematically since smart grid can be seriously damaged when problem occurs. In this paper, local and global smart grid security standard and security vulnerabilities in power grid are reviewed, and 2 level smart grid service model is proposed.

In this paper, we show that the shrinking generator with two LFSR whose characteristic polynomials are primitive is an interleaving generator and analyze phase shifts in shrunken sequence. Also for a given intercepted sequence of shrunken sequence, we propose. the method of reconstructing some deterministic bits of the shrunken sequence using phase shifts.

The objective of this paper is to propose the methodology for automated generation of the optimal security defense strategies using evolutionary techniques. As damages by penetration exploiting vulnerability in computer systems and networks are increasing, security techniques have been researched actively. However it is difficult to generate optimal defense strategies because it needs to consider various situations on network environment according to countermeasures. Thus we have adopted a genetic algorithm in order to generate an optimal defense strategy as combination of countermeasures. We have represented gene information with countermeasures. And by using simulation technique, we have evaluated fitness through evaluating the vulnerability of system having applied various countermeasures. Finally, we have examined the feasibility by experiments on the system implemented by proposed method.

A Design and Implementation of XML Schema for In-vehicle Networks

The vehicle consists of a variety of in-vehicle networks and each network uses its own protocol. It makes the communication between the heterogeneous networks and the extension of a new vehicle network difficult. It is also difficult to provide a variety of services between the networks. Therefore, a method for communication and extension between in-vehicle networks is essentially required. In this paper, a XML schema which focuses on the communication and extension of the networks is proposed. It is based on a standard protocol. We also implement the XML, builder and parser tool. The implementation shows that the proposed schema is in the capacities of communication and extension. It also shows that each message from the existing vehicle networks is matched well with the corresponding intelligent service.

In traditional Publish/Subscribe system, the first procedure to deliver event from publisher to subscriber is that publisher publishes publisher's event to broker. Next step is that broker checks simple binary notion of matching : an event either matches a subscription or it does not. Lastly, broker delivers the event matched with subscriptions to the corresponding subscribers. In this system, information delivery has been accomplished in one way only. However, current some applications require two way delivery between subscriber and publisher. Therefore, we initiate an extended Publish/Subscribe system that supports two way delivery. Extended Publish/Subscribe system requires additional functions of delivering subscription to publisher and especially deciding top-n subscriptions using priority because broker might has a number of subscriptions. In this paper, we propose two priority retrieval techniques based on SIF using IS-List with deciding priority among subscriptions and defining SIF(Specific Interval First). The performance measurements show that RSO(resulting set sorting) technique results in better performance in index creation time and ITS&IS(insertion time sorting and inverse search using stack) technique results in better performance in search time.

In this paper, we propose a design technique which replaces logic transistors of 1.2V with medium-voltage transistors of 3.3V having small off-leakage current in repetitive block circuits where speed is not an issue, to implement a low-power eFuse OTP memory IP in the stand-by state. In addition, we use dual-port eFuse cells reducing operational current dissipation by reducing capacitances parasitic to RWL (Read word-line) and BL (Bit-line) in the read mode. Furthermore, we propose an equivalent circuit for simulating program power injected to an eFuse from a program voltage. The layout size of the designed 512-bit eFuse OTP memory IP with a 90nm CMOS image sensor process is
. It is confirmed by measurement experiments on 42 samples with a program voltage of 5V that we get a good result having 97.6 percent of program yield. Also, the minimal operational supply voltage is measured well to be 0.9V.

This paper describes a design of fast Fourier transform(FFT) processor for EEG(electroencephalogram) signal analysis for health care services. Hamming window function with 1/2 overlapping is adopted to perform short-time FFT(ST-FFT) of a long period EEG signal occurred in real-time. In order to analyze efficiently EEG signals which have frequency characteristics in the range of 0 Hz to 100 Hz, a 256-point FFT processor is designed, which is based on a single-memory bank architecture and the radix-4 algorithm. The designed FFT processor has been verified by FPGA implementation, and has high accuracy with arithmetic error less than 2%.

In this paper, we propose the method that extracts sea level measurements graph from the sea level measurements recording paper image with a little interaction. At first, a pixel that is included in the graph area is selected. Then, background pixels are automatically determined using the distance between a selected pixel and other pixels on LAB color space. In each vertical line, a pixel that is the nearest to the selected pixel on LAB color space is extracted and the graph area is determined using that pixels. Experimental results show that the sea level measurements graph can be extracted with a few interaction from the various sea level measurements recording paper images.
Analysis method of signal model for synthetic aperture integral imaging

SAII (synthetic aperture integral imaging) is a useful technique to record many multi view images of 3D objects by using a moving camera and to reconstruct 3D depth images from the recorded multiviews. This is largely composed of two processes. A pickup process provides elemental images of 3D objects and a reconstruction process generates 3D depth images computationally. In this paper, a signal model for SAII is presented. We defined the granular noise and analyzed its characteristics. Our signal model revealed that we could reduce the noise in the reconstructed images and increase the computational speed by reducing the shifting distance of a single camera.

In this paper, we introduce an efficient energy management using a notion of virtual energy system for shared solar-powered sensor network. Virtual energy system is an abstraction that allows sensor network applications on a node to reserve their own fractions of the shared solar cell and the shared rechargeable battery, hence achieving logically partition of a shared renewable power source. Our results show that our design and implementation are reliable, lightweight and efficient, allowing proper isolation of energy consumption among applications.

In the field of network sense for the Ubiquitous environment, the technology of RFID is a significant part. Due to the real time processing of information and the property of network, RFID has been used in service field such as distribution, administrative control of physical distribution, remote measuring device, and security. instead of currently used bar-code. The management system of port facilities using the current RFID technology has the effects of reducing working hours and improvement in data processing, but it is not proper for human resource allocation since it is dominantly worked for physical resources. In this paper, we designed and implemented personnel control system using RFID of 2.4GHz in port facilities which presents a monitoring system for safety operation and increase of efficiency using RFID in order to overcome the limitations and problems of current port operation management techniques.
An Analysis for Success Factors of Social Network Game Towards Farmville Game

Currently social network games with an emphasis on the relationship between the friends, especially women users and the elderly users of over forties, have contributed to the expansion of game market attracting large audiences. Though recent interest in social network games and the explosive propagation of social network game into game industry, scholarly research for social network game is insufficient. The objective of the study is to explore the success factors for successful social network games through the depth interview with game experts. We suggest the guidelines for development of social network game. Commercial success of social network games and the number of users with the best game, farmville, were investigated for understanding key success factors in social network game field. As a result, social interaction, simple interface, asynchronous method, instrumental rationality factors have been identified. This result of the study will expect the guideline in order to develop a successful social network games.
