Performance Analysis of Transport in MANET including Interworking Functionality using the Edge Cost Based Modeling Method

A growth of mobile and wireless networking technologies have enabled mobile ad hoc networks applicable to a wide range of areas. This paper analyzes dynamics of network transport performance with respect to dynamics of network states especially for the mobile ad hoc networks called MANET. The edge cost based modeling methodology is adopted for the analysis, which can express well the characteristics of MANET. In this methodology the network state at arbitrary time can be specified as one of four edge states. We extracts ten target network scenarios for the simulation analysis by employing not only the Real Edge/Infinity Edge concept but also interworking functionality between different transport protocols. Then we could acquire from simulation of them with the DEVSim++ engine that the more sorts of transport protocols and the more number of interworking nodes are included in the network, the more contribution is for improving network transport performance.
A Study pn Development of collaborative Document Authoring system based on DOM

It is difficult to merge text document and to remake use of documents on the most collaborative document authoring system using text document, and also to provide the storage place for saving and keeping documents. It has vulnerable drawbacks about the security though it provides the accessible abilities due to basing it on Web. In this paper, we design and implementation the collaborative document authoring system for XML document to improve a couple of problems on these systems. For these, we based on the DOM to manipulate the modeling object documents and utilized RMI on this system without considering socket communication when it transmits and receives Java objects. We improved the security through processes of authentication. By providing templates and editing functions such as annotation, visualization of document structures, we made easier making collaborative document authoring more than ever.

Design and fabrication of multi-band six-port phase correlator using metamaterial

The multi-band six-port phase correlator using metamaterial was designed and fabricated in this paper. The lumped metamaterial structure that can process the dual-band receiving signal was analyzed. Based on the analyzed results, the small-sized metamatrial six-port phase correlator for multi-band direct conversion method was proposed and fabricated. Also, the resistive power divider and
hybrid coupler that comprises the six-port phase correlator were implemented based on the scattering parameters of metamatrial six-port phase correlator. The measured results of the proposed six-port phase correlator show the good agreement with simulation results. The performance of the six-port phase correlator shows the reflection loss below -20 dB in the dual-band. Also, the proposed six-port phase correlator got a good transmission characteristic within 1 dB gain difference and
phase imbalance, respectively.

The accuracy of face recognition used unmanned security system is very important and necessary. However, face recognition is a lot of restriction due to the change of distortion of face image, illumination, face size, face expression, round image. We propose a hybrid neural network for improve the performance of the face recognition. The proposed method is consisted of SOM and LVQ. In order to verify usefulness of the proposed method, we make a comparison between eigenface method, hidden Markov model method, multi-layer neural network.
The analysis of the detection probability of FMCW radar and implementation of signal processing part

This paper analyzes the detection probability of FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar based on Doppler frequency and analog-digital converter bit and designs and implements signal processing part of FMCW radar. For performance evaluation, the FMCW radar system consists of a transmitted part and a received part and uses AWGN channel. The system model is verified through analysis and simulation. Frequency offset occurs in the received part caused by the mismatching between the received signal and the reference signal. In case of Doppler frequency less than about 38KHz, performance degradation of detection does not occur in FMCW radar with 75cm resolution The analog-digital converter needs at least 6 bit in order not to degrade the detection probability. And, we design and implement digital signal processing part based on DDS chip of digital transmitted signal generator for FMCW radar.
Ship Detection Using Background Estimation of Video and AIS Informations

To support anti-collision between ship to ship and sea-search and sea-rescue work, ship automatic identification system(AIS) that can both send and receive messages between ship and VTS Traffic control have been adopted. And port control system can control traffic vessel service which is co-operated with AIS. For more efficient traffic vessel service, ship recognition and display system is required to cooperated with AIS. In this paper, we propose ship detection system which is co-operated with AIS by using background estimation based on image processing for on the sea or harbor image extracted from camera. We experiment with on the sea or harbor image extracted from real-time input image from camera. By computer simulation and real world test, the proposed system show more effective to ship monitoring.
Design of Coupling and Rectifying Circuit for Monitoring of Transmitting Power of Maritime VHF Modem

The design of coupling and rectifying circuits for the maritime VHF digital modem is investigated in this paper. To monitor the transmitting power of the modem, a directional coupler which is used to extract a small fraction of the transmitter signal power, and a rectifying circuit which make DC voltage proportional to the coupled rf power are designed and fabricated. The parallel-coupled line coupler with directivity of above 25 dB at 160 MHz bands is designed and it is shown that the output voltage of the rectifying circuit is linearly changing from 0.85 V to 1.6 V when the transmitting power of the modem is varying from 1 W to 25 W. The proposed coupler and rectifying circuits are expected to be suitable for maritime VHF digital modem.
Performance Evaluation of Uplink MC-DS-CDMA Transmission Systems

MC-DS-CDMA is technique where a single data symbol is transmitted at multiple subcarriers which are orthogonal to each other. With this technique, frequency diversity can be achieved. The performance of uplink MC-DS-CDMA systems with the application of MRRC antenna diversity over time variant channels is analyzed. Time variant channels lead to interchannel interference which increases the bit error rate in the receiver. The BER performance of this system over multipath fading environment is evaluated, considering the channel estimation error, carrier frequency offset, and the nonlinear high power amplifier.

Demand on information security in mobile devices based control system grows rapidly with a view to counteracting information hacking and leakage. Among these techniques, encryption and authentication are most common. This paper presents CBC-MAC (Cipher Block Chaining-Message Authentication Code) based mobile devices control system. The system is termed as Secure Mobile in Vehicle (SMIV)We use CBC-MAC that is one of the most efficient authentication modes to protect information against any malicious attacks. By sharing the secret key of CBC-MAC between the transmitter and receiver, it asserts authentic information. The proposed system is verified in such a way that we develop mobile devices control system, apply the CBC-MAC algorithm to the control system and validate the received data. Unlike conventional systems where the development of control mechanism in mobile devices based control systems is main concern, this proposed system offers a secure communication link of the data in mobile devices control system and therefore would be useful to the design and implementation of various mobile devices based control systems.
An Enhanced Location Offering Mechanism for Supporting Emergency Services in Ethernet-based Enterprise VoIP Networks

During the past 5 years, domestic VoIP service has grown rapidly absorbing more than 8 million subscribers. More recently, the increase of enterprise or institutional subscribers become more dominant than individual subscribers. Supporting emergency services such as 119 in these scaled up VoIP services is very essential. In current domestic VoIP networks, the VoIP terminal's location information which are provided to the PSAP with the arriving emergency call depends on the information which are entered at the subscription time or updated by the subscribers when the terminal is moved to other place. This manual provision of location information which requires the user's intervention can result in serious failure in saving people in emergency situations, in case that users are negligent in entering the information or users enter the wrong information. In this paper, we propose an enhanced mechanism in which the terminal's location information is automatically offered by the network for emergency services in ethernet-based enterprise VoIP networks.
Implementation of a Integrated Network for Vehicle by Using FlexRay Gateway

FlexRay is a new standard of network communication system which provides a high speed serial communication, time triggered bus and fault tolerant communication between electronic devices for future automotive applications. The speed of FlexRay is 10 times higher than that of CAN. In this paper, FlexRay module is implemented using MC9S12XF512 micro-controller and gateway converting CAN message to FlexRay message. It is shown that the implemented system operates successfully.

Computation steps for 3D graphic processing consist of two stages - fixed operation stage and programming required stage. Using this characteristic of 3D pipeline, a hybrid structure between graphics hardware designed by fixed structure and programmable hardware based on instructions, can handle graphic processing more efficiently. In this paper, fragment Shader is designed under this hybrid structure. It also supports OpenGL ES 2.0. Interior interface is optimized to reduce the delay of entire pipeline, which may be occurred by data I/O between the fixed hardware and the Shader. Interior register group of the Shader is designed by an interleaved structure to improve the register space and processing speed.

This paper proposes 3D facial modeling system without using 3D scanner and camera or expensive software. This system enables efficient 3D facial modeling to cost reduction and effort saving for natural facial modeling. It detects edges of component of face using edge detection based on fuzzy logic from any 2D image of front face. It was mapped fitting position with 3D standard face model by detected edge more correctly. Also this system generates 3D face model more easily through floating and flexible control and texture mapping after fitting that connection of control point on detected edge from 2D image and mesh of 3D standard face model.
Design of Compiler & Variable-Length Instructions for SIMD Structured Shader

Shader instructions and Compiler are designed for supporting 3D graphic shader 3.0 API. Variable-length instructions are proposed to reduce the size of hardware of graphic processor in SIMD structure by shortening the length of instructions. The designed shader compiler supports variable and two phased structured instructions, and can be programmable at ESSL level. Conformance Test proposed by Khronos group is accomplished to verify the design result of instructions and complier. The test result shows overall average 37% performance improvement at the 16 functions of basic GL shader.
Development of a Tiled Display Framework for Supporting Mixed-Focus Collaboration

Most tiled display systems supported a public workspace model where multiple users share the contents and work together on a large public screen. In this research, we developed ICE Display Framework, designed for supporting easy construction of tiled display applications allowing mixed-focus collaboration. Mixed-focus collaboration is a model that allows a number of users to work together as a group or individually on the large workspace. ICE Framework allows users to add personal contents on the tiled display without interrupting other users as well as to put shared works. In this paper, we compare ICE framework with previous research and explain the detail implementation. Then, we introduce the applications built with this framework and discuss the evaluation and analysis of the performance of the new framework.

This paper suggests a implements and a design of class diagram authorization tool based on the MVC pattern. It defines and descries the structure of ClassInformation, ScreenDisplay and ToolManager. ClassInformation is responsible for processing or handling information of a diagram. ScreenDisplay is responsible for GUI to configure the screen of the authorization tool. ToolManager is responsible for event handling to process I/O of the authorization tool. Based on MVC pattern, ClassInformation, ScreenDisplay and ToolManager of the authorization tool are assigned each role independently. It is flexible to new requirement, because of loose coupling.
A study on Management Mechanism of Malicious Node in Ad-hoc Networks

An Ad-hoc network will operate properly and provide smooth communication when nodes cooperate mutually with each of them having equal authority. Although it is possible to form a network consisting only of authenticated nodes in order to ensure reliability, authentication by itself is not sufficient to remove malicious nodes and their activities jeopardizing the whole network. Detection and prevention of such activities are vital for maintaining a safe and reliable network, but research on this matter is relatively lacking. Hence a suggestion is made on how to detect and prevent malicious or uncooperative ones among the nodes forming a network by a relationship of mutual trust, thereby maintaining safety and stability of the network and improving its processing abilities
Construction of Sequential Digital Systems over Finite Fields

This paper presents a method of constructing the sequential digital systems over finite fields. We assign all elements in finite fields to digit codes using mathematical properties of finite fields. Also, we discuss the operational characteristics and properties of the building block T-gate which is used to implement the sequential digital systems over finite fields. Then, we implemented sequential digital systems without feed-back. The sequential digital systems without feed-back is constructed as following steps. First, we assign the states in state-transition diagram to state digit codes, then obtain the state function and predecessor table which is explaining the relationship between present states and previous states. Next, we obtained the next-state function from state function and predecessor table. Finally we realize the circuit using T-gate and decoder. The proposed method is more efficiency and systematic than previous method.
Positioning by using Speed and GeoMagnetic Sensor Data base on Vehicle Network

Recently, various networks have been introduced in the car of the internal and external sides. These have been integrated by one HMI(Human Machine Interface) to control devices of each network and provide information service. The existing vehicle navigation system, providing GPS based vehicle positioning service, has been included to these integrated networks as a default option. The GPS has been used to the most universal device to provide position information by using satellites' signal. But It is impossible to provide the position information when the GPS can't receive the satellites' signal in the area of tunnel, urban canyon, or forest canopy. Thus, this paper propose and implement the method of measuring vehicle position by using the sensing data of internal CAN network and external Wi-Fi network of the integrated car navigation circumstances when the GPS doesn't work normally. The results obtained by implementation shows the proposed method works well by map matching.

Analysis of Moisture, Elasticity and EMG Change on Meridian Acupoints by Cupping(Negative Pressure) Stimulation

Cupping therapy has been used to extensive diseases. However, the research was yet to meridian and acupoint's change of state caused by Cupping. This study was considered a human-ripple effect by the anlaysis of meridian & acupoint's change of state. We developed the system which is keeps 30kPa Negative-pressure and stimulated on the Left Lung Meridian(LU) a halfway point between LU4 and LU5. We checked moisture and elasticity change on left/right acupoints & non-acupoints, then measured EMG Signal. We observed that moisture had little change(12.49%) and the better part of the elasticity on both sides had identified the change(64.42%). The number of the provoked acupoiunt elasticity change was more than non-acupoint. Also, elasticity change of Right side was more than Left side. We confirmed that RMS and Median Power change patterns were lower in proportional to the elastin change, but there was no significance about Median Frequency. Therefore inducing the change of elasticity and EMG signal on meridian-acupoints. Therefore, We checked the human-ripple effect Negative-pressure by the Cupping therapy.
EEG 16 channel variations between the non-stimulation and the moxibustion stimulated subjects for CV4, CV8, and CV12 acupuncture points

The moxibustion therapy of orient medical is well known. Moxibustion method is used to burning moxibustion. The variation factors of the moxibustion stimulation for body can be applied to the electronic moxibustion method. This study is to analyze and examine the electroencephalogram(EEG) variations for moxibustion stimulation. In experiment, we divided six healthy male subjects into two same sized groups : with and without stimuli. The given stimuli are the moxibustion for CV4(Kwan-Won), CV8(Shin-Guel), and CV12(Jung-wan) acupuncture points. We have analyzed the power spectrum for
waves and the average EEG variation level and each channels variation level of EEG. The result was that the moxibustion stimulation decreased the EEG levels of parietal lobe(ch 2, 3, 6, 7) according to the somatosensory system. And the apparent different points are that mild-heat(
) stimulation generating
-wave is increased and
-wave is decreased, also slight-hot(
) stimulation made
-wave decrease and
-wave increase for occipital lobe(ch 4,8) on the simulation group.
Handwritten Numeral Recognition using Composite Features and SVM classifier

In this paper, we studied the use of the foreground and background features and SVM classifier to improve the accuracy of offline handwritten numeral recognition. The foreground features are two directional features: directional gradient feature by Kirsch operators and directional stroke feature by projection runlength, and the background feature is concavity feature which is extracted from the convex hull of the numeral, where concavity feature functions as complement to the directional features. During classification of the numeral, these three features are combined to obtain good discrimination power. The efficiency of our feature sets was tested by recognition experiments on the handwritten numeral database CENPARMI, where we used SVM with RBF kernel as a classifier. The experimental results showed that each combination of two or three features gave a better performance than a single feature. This means that each single feature works with a different discriminating power and cooperates with other features to enhance the recognition accuracy. By using the composite feature of the three features, we achieved a recognition rate of 98.90%.
Experimental Analyses and Millimeter Wave Signal Generation Using Sideband Injection Locking Method

In this paper, we have proposed sideband injection locking method, heterodyne technique, to generate millimeter-wave signal. Microwave signals in cellular broadband mobile communication networks and distributed networks can favorably be generated and distributed by optical techniques. In principle, these techniques have already been investigated for optical control of phase-array antennas, characterization of photo-detector and phase locking of millimeter-wave oscillators and now being applied to wireless communications. The generation and transmission of millimeter-wave radio signals by optical means is of interest for future pico-cell broadband mobile communication system, especially for systems operating at frequencies of tens of GHz applicable to LMDS. We experimented and analysed the generation of millimeter wave signal.

In this paper, we propose a web-based programming class support system to help a lecturer to teach a programming language to students effectively. The proposed system is composed of a error analysis step and a verification step. The error analysis step checks whether there are compile time errors or run time errors in each student's submitted program. Given some errors, the system provides helpful feedback for the student to fix the errors. On the contrary, the system provides quick feedback after checking the source code style, comments, and plagiarism in the submitted program. As soon as the student submits the program, the student can see the check results. According to the result of utilizing the proposed system in a C programming language class, students tend to submit program assignments actively.
Implementation of LDPC Decoder using High-speed Algorithms in Standard of Wireless LAN

In this paper, we first review LDPC codes in general and a belief propagation algorithm that works in logarithm domain. LDPC codes, which is chosen 802.11n for wireless local access network(WLAN) standard, require a large number of computation due to large size of coded block and iteration. Therefore, we presented three kinds of low computational algorithms for LDPC codes. First, sequential decoding with partial group is proposed. It has the same H/W complexity, and fewer number of iterations are required with the same performance in comparison with conventional decoder algorithm. Secondly, we have apply early stop algorithm. This method reduces number of unnecessary iterations. Third, early detection method for reducing the computational complexity is proposed. Using a confidence criterion, some bit nodes and check node edges are detected early on during decoding. Through the simulation, we knew that the iteration number are reduced by half using subset algorithm and early stop algorithm is reduced more than one iteration and computational complexity of early detected method is about 30% offs in case of check node update, 94% offs in case of check node update compared to conventional scheme. The LDPC decoder have been implemented in Xilinx System Generator and targeted to a Xilinx Virtx5-xc5vlx155t FPGA. When three algorithms are used, amount of device is about 45% off and the decoding speed is about two times faster than convectional scheme.
Low Computational Algorithm for Estimating LLR in MIMO Channel

In recent years, the goal of providing high speed wireless data services has generated a great amount of interest among the research community. Several researchers have shown that the capacity of the system, in the presence of flat Rayleigh fading, improves significantly with the use of combined MIMO and LDPC. To feed the soft values to LDPC decoder, the soft values must be calculated from multiple transmitter and receiver antennas in Rayleigh fading channel. It requires high computational complexity to get the soft symbols by increasing number of transmitter and receiver antennas. Therefore, this thesis proposed on effective algorithm for calculation of soft values from multiple antennas based on LLR. As result, This thesis shows that maximum 61% of computational complexity is reduced with a little loss of performance.
Denoising Algorithm using Wavelet and Element Deviation-based Median Filter

The audio and image signal are corrupted by various noises in signal processing, many studies are being accomplished to restore those signals. In this paper, the algorithm is proposed to remove additive Gaussian noise and impulse noise at one dimension signal like an speech signal. The algorithm is composed to remove Gaussian noise after removing impulse noise. And the method using wavelet coefficient accumulation is used to remove the Gaussian noise, and the median filter based on element deviation is applied to remove the impulse noise. Also we compare existing methods using SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) as the standard of judgement of improvemental effect.

The Passive Device called SAW Device of the ID Tag or a small sensor that can replace all of MEMS technology Micro Device. When using SAW Device will be able to replace that sensor control the power needed or separate space. Enlarge the scope of this advantage to use as a platform for various SAW Device is required. However, the current SAW Sensor development has many, but SAW Sensor that can leverage the platform's development is sketchy. Therefore, this paper implements SAW Reader can be measured in SAW Device Using an FPGA more simple and efficient Reader platform.
QoS Aware Cross-layer MAC Protocol in wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper we propose the QAC-MAC that supports Quality of Service(QoS) and saves energy resources of the sensor node, and hence prolonging the lifetime of the sensor network with multiple sink nodes. Generally, the nodes nearest to the sink node often experience heavy congestion since all data is forwarded toward the sink through those nodes. So this critically effects on the delay-constraint data traffics. QAC-MAC uses a hybrid mechanism that adapts scheduled scheme for medium access and scheduling and unscheduled scheme based on TDMA for no data collision transmission. Generally speaking, characteristics of the real-time traffic with higher priority tends to be bursty and has same destination. QAC-MAC adapts cross-layer concept to rearrange the data transmission order in each sensor node's queue, saves energy consumption by allowing few nodes in data transmission, and prolongs the network lifetime.
Temporal and Spatial Analysis of SST in the Northeast Asian Seas Using NOAA/AVHRR data

To study the spatial and temporal variations of sea surface temperature(SST) in the Northeast Asia sea during the period of 1985 to 2009. At first, the buoy data from Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA) and the satellite data have been matched up eight points. The root mean square error and the bias were increased towards the coastal shallow region. The study area which is divided 7 regions from Japan Meteorological Agency(JMA). When the inferiorthreshold potential is applied on the membrane, the resting status membrane does not display any specific reaction, in the meanwhile if it receives somewhat higher voltages then it shows entirely different configuration. The fact that there is this kind of characteristics on the exciting membrane has been known for a long time, and some researchers have tried to analyze this situation using the electrical circuits but only limitted to inferiorthreshold potential case. The quantitative studies of especially for transthreshold stimulus is extremely rare up to now. The direct application of electrical circuit to biostatus is somewhat uneasonable because there may be much differences between them. We studied the electrical reaction quantitatively of biomembrane when it receives the transthreshold stimulus in point of electricity in this paper.
A Study on NPC Grouping of 3D Game using Gabor Characteristics

An NPC grouping method is proposed for various 3D games depending on their characteristics. Immovable objects tend to have particular orientation features in their Gabor filtering results whereas the movable objects controlled by AI appearing as a human or an animal do not. First of all, We analyzed directional and frequency domain features in the NPC object and configured them as 24 Gabor filter banks. Then, 24-dimensional feature vectors according to the scale and direction of the filter are calculated. Each extracted vector represents the energy of a certain direction. This energy indicates the particular direction strength of the object texture. Thus, using this property, NPCs could be grouped as artificial objects and natural objects effectively and it draws the game more speed and strategic actions as a result.
