Reducing Process Time for RFID Tag Identification on the Grid Environment

Recently RFID system has been adopted in various fields rapidly. However, we should solve the problem of privacy invasion that can be occurred by obtaining information of RFID Tag without any permission for popularization of RFID system. To solve these problems, There is the Ohkubo et al.'s Hash-Chain Scheme which is the safest method. However, this method has a problem that requesting lots of computing process because of creasing numbers of Tag. Therefore We, suggest SP-Division algorithm satisfied with all necessary security of Privacy Protection Scheme and decreased in Tag Identification Time in this paper. And this paper implemented it in time standard finding the first key among the data devided into each nodes. The length of Hash-Chain holds 1000, and the total number of SPs increases 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000. Comparing tag identification time by the total number of SPs and the number of Nodes with single node, extending the number of nodes to 1, 2, 3 and 4, when the number of nodes is 2, 40% of Performance, when the number of nodes is 3, 56%, and when the number of nodes is 4, 71% is improved.

Development of e-navigation strategy which was proposed by seven member states coordinated by United Kingdom in MSC committee of IMO has been conducted for user needs definition, gap analysis cooperating with NAV, COMSAR and STW sub-committee. After prominent progress of development was done in Correspondence group, MSC 85 has approved the result of the group and conducted the development of e-navigation implementation plan to be finished in 2012. It is necessary to prepare the strategy and plan of our country identifying and perceiving the core objects and basic concept of e-navigation developed in the international community. This paper presents the progress of e-navigation development work until this stage and gives some recommendations for the domestic plan to cope with e-navigation.
Performance Analysis of OFDM using Space-Frequency Block Code

In this paper, unuse frequency resources additionally in radio communication system and proposed fan shape receiver and interference exclusion flag that can overcome interference by frequency selective special quality. Analyzed results in actualer situation with channel conclusion error. Because frequency selective special quality is strong, there was excellent performance elevation than Conventional space - frequency block code receiver when use together MMSE fan shape receiver and interference exclusion radical in situation that the interference amount is big. Iin case channel conclusion error is small, there were Performance gains of 7dB in (MSE = 0.001)
Design of lumped six-port phase correlator and performance of lumped direct conversion receiver

The six-port phase correlator using lumped elements was designed and fabricated in this paper, also the receiving performance of L-band direct conversion receiver using lumped six-port phase correlator element was analyzed. The proposed L-band lumped six-port phase correlator element was composed of a resistive power divider and the twist-wire coaxial cables. The proposed lumped six-port structure provides the small-sized configuration and wide-band characteristics. The performance of the L-band lumped direct conversion receiver structure was measured under the conditions of 1.69 GHz frequency for LO-CW signal and RF-QPSK signal, which are input signals for the lumped six-port phase correlator element. The direct conversion receiving structure using the proposed lumped six-port phase correlator element can recovered the good digital I/Q signal.
Noisy Speech Enhancement by Restoration of DFT Components Using Neural Network

This paper presents a speech enhancement system which restores the amplitude components and phase components by discrete Fourier transform (DFT), using neural network training by back-propagation algorithm. First, a neural network is trained using DFT amplitude components and phase components of noisy speech signal, then the proposed system enhances speech signals that are degraded by white noise using a neural network. Experimental results demonstrate that speech signals degraded by white noise are enhanced by the proposed system using the neural network, whose inputs are DFT amplitude components and phase components. Based on measuring spectral distortion measurement, experiments confirm that the proposed system is effective for white noise.
Development of the Estimating Equation for Children's High-Exposure to Habitat's Magnetic Field using Particle Swarm Optimization

This paper describes the development of estimating equation for under 16 aged children's exposure to habitat's magnetic field for 24 hours by using particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm, which was carried out by using the measured database collected from the exposure survey to Korean habitat's magnetic field as to under 16 aged Korean students such as preschooler, children in elementary school, and children in middle school. Sex, age, residence type, size of habitation site, distance from power line, and power transmission voltage are used as the input data of estimating 24 hour's personal exposure to magnetic field. And distribution of 24 hour's personal exposure to magnetic field, exposure characteristic to magnetic field, and exposure characteristic to magnetic field according to special conditions, are analyzed for under 16 aged children.
An Improved Robust Fuzzy Principal Component Analysis

Principal component analysis (PCA) is a well-known method for dimension reduction while maintaining most of the variation in data. Although PCA has been applied to many areas successfully, it is sensitive to outliers. Several variants of PCA have been proposed to resolve the problem and, among the variants, robust fuzzy PCA (RF-PCA) demonstrated promising results. RF-PCA uses fuzzy memberships to reduce the noise sensitivity. However, there are also problems in RF-PCA and the convergence property is one of them. RF-PCA uses two different objective functions to update memberships and principal components, which is the main reason of the lack of convergence property. The difference between two functions also slows the convergence and deteriorates the solutions of RF-PCA. In this paper, a variant of RF-PCA, called RF-PCA2, is proposed. RF-PCA2 uses an integrated objective function both for memberships and principal components. By using alternating optimization, RF-PCA2 is guaranteed to converge on a local optimum. Furthermore, RF-PCA2 converges faster than RF-PCA and the solutions found are more similar to the desired solutions than those of RF-PCA. Experimental results also support this.
Design and Performance Analysis of the Digital Phase-Locked Loop For Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum system

In this paper, Frequency Synthesizer which is widely used for FH-SS system is proposed and the experimental results are analyzed. The performance of the DPLL(Digital Phase-Locked-Loop), which is the main part of the Synthesizer is analyzed by the computer program. Using Maxplus-II tool provided by altera. co., ltd, each part of the DPLL is designed and all of them is integrated into EPM7064SLC44-10 chip. And the simulation results are compared with the characteristics of the implemented circuits for analysis. And the experiential results show that the N value of the loop filter is toggled to adjacent N value, which result in phase jitter of the output. It can be resolved by increasing DCO(Digital Controlled oscillator) clock rate.
Transmission Performance of VoIP Traffic over MANETs

In this paper, some performance characteristics of VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) for MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc Networks) with simulation is studied and appropriate condition for implementation of VoIP service is suggested. VoIP simulator is implemented with NS(Network Simulator)-2. VoIP traffic for simulation is generated with some codecs of G.711, G.723.1, G.726-32, G.729A, GSM.AMR and iLBC. As simulation results for traffic transmission under
50node MANET environment, performance data for MOS(Mean Opinion Score), network delay, packet loss rate and transmission bandwidth are measured. Normalized analysis about measured results shows that maximum VoIP connection satisfying VoIP service quality condition is 15.
A Study on Efficient Handover Scheme using Pre-authentication and Route Optimization in PMIPv6

PMIPv6 is a network-based mobility support scheme, proposed and standardized by NetLMM WG of IETF. It is proposed to solve problems of conventional mobility schemes, and to improve inefficiency of those. The standard document describes network components and detailed procedures to provide mobility to MN. But it describes only a handover procedure between MAGs, not between LMAs. In order to support seamless connectivity of MN efficiently, a handover procedure between LMAs is necessary. The proposed scheme in this paper utilizes a route optimization procedure to prevent inefficiency of inter-LMA tunneling scheme. At the same time, the proposed scheme utilizes a pre-authentication scheme to reduce handover latency. According to the result of performance evaluations, the proposed scheme greatly reduces handover latency, compared to conventional mobility support schemes.
Performance Improvements of WiBro System Using the 64QAM SOFM Prefiltering

WiBro(Wireless Broadband Internet) is the standard of high-speed portable internet based on OFDMA/TDD (Orthogonal frequency division multiple access / Time division duplexing) techniques, and the subset of consolidated version of IEEE802.16e Wireless MAN standard. In this paper, we propose performance improvements of WiBro system using the 64QAM SOFM(Self-Organizing Feature Maps)prefiltering. Proposed method used the prefiltering SOFM neural network blind equalization in the Broadband 64 QAM WiBro system receiver. The prefiltering SOFM neural network constellates 64QAM that is transmitter data shape and the blind equalization removes ICI(Inter Carrier Interference). To verificate the proposed method usability, the MSE and the BER are simulated. The simulation results shown that is improved the performances of the proposed WiBro system using the 64QAM SOFM Prefiltering than the existing WiBro system.
EPCglobal Class-1 Gen-2 Anti-collision Algorithm with Tag Number Estimation Scheme

In the anti-collision scheme proposed by EPCglobal Class-1 Gen-2 standard, the frame size for a query round is determined by Q-algorithm. In the Q-algorithm, the reader calculates a frame size without estimating the number of tags in it's identification range. It uses only the slot status. Therefore, Q-algorithm has advantage that the reader's algorithm is simpler than other algorithms. However, it cannot allocate an optimized frame size because it does not consider the number of tags. Also, the conventional Q-algorithm does not define an optimized parameter value C for adjusting the frame size. In this paper, we propose a modified Q-algorithm and evaluate the performance with computer simulations. The proposed Q-algorithm estimates the number of tags at every query round, and determines the parameter value C based on the estimated number of tags.
A TCP Performance Enhancement Scheme in Wireless Mesh Networks

Wireless mesh network is similar to ad-hoc network, so when transferred to the data packet in the wireless environment, interfered factor arise. When TCP(Transport Control Protocol) was created, however as it was design based on wired link, wireless link made more transmission error than wired link. It is existent problem that TCP unfairness and congestion collapse over wireless mesh network. But packet losses due to transmission errors are more frequent. The cause of transmission error in wireless ad-hoc network may be inexactly regarded as indications of network congestion. And then, Congestion Control Algorithm was running by this situation causes the TCP performance degradation. In this paper, proposed TCP can adaptively regulate the congestion window through moving node in the Wireless Mesh Network. And it enhanced the performance.
Implementation of Virtual Machine Allocation Scheme and Lease Service in Cloud Computing Environments

A virtual machine lease service in the cloud computing environment has been implemented using the open source cloud computing platform, OpenNebula. In addition, a web-based cloud user interface is developed for both convenient resource management and efficient service access. The present virtual machine allocation scheme adopted in OpenNebula has performance reduction problem because of not considering CPU allocation scheduler of the virtualization software. In order to address this problem we have considered both the priority of the idle CPU resources of the cluster and credit scheduler of Xen, which resulted in performance improvement of the OpenNebula virtual machine scheduler. The experimental results showed that the proposed allocation scheme provided more virtual machine creations and more CPU resource allocations for cloud service.
A Study on the Performance Analysis of 4-ary Scaling Wavelet Shift Keying

An algorithm of the conventional wavelet shift keying is carried out that the scaling function and wavelet are encoded to 1(mark) and 0(space) for the input binary data, respectively. Two bit modulation technique which uses four carrier frequencies is existed. Four carrier frequencies are defined as scaling function, inversed scaling function, wavelet, and inversed wavelet, which are encoded to 10, 11, 00 and 01, respectively. In this paper, we defined 4-ary SWSK (4-ary scaling wavelet shift keying) which is two bit modulation, and it is derived to the probability of bit error and symbol error of the defined system from QPSK. In order to analyze to the performance of 4-ary SWSK, we are obtained in terms of the probability of bit error and symbol error for QPSK (quadrature phase shift keying), MFSK(M-ary frequency shift keying) and proposed method. As a results of simulation, we confirmed that the proposed method was superior to the performance in terms of the probability of bit error and symbol error.
Implementation of Authoring and Consuming System for IPTV Package Contents

IPTV hasn't fulfilled the expectations that it will substitute existing digital broadcasting service and serve new type of services such as interactive and multi-channels. Today's IPTV service just seems to change existing service platform to new one. In this situation, Open IPTV service has been on the rise, which make it possible for consumers to choice contents regardless of contents providers. However, the integration of variety service platforms such as rights protection solution is essential to provide Open IPTV service. In this paper, authoring and consuming system for package contents based on MPEG-21 Multimedia Framework which is developed for distributing media resources.
Effective RFID Authentication Using Hash Function

Recently RFID system is used in various fields such as distribution industry, medical industry and military service. The technology for protecting individual privacy is necessary to adapt RFID system in several applications. This paper proposes an authentication protocol which conducts mutual authentication between back-end database and tag using hash function. The proposed protocol satisfies various RFID security requirements : mutual authentication, anonymity, confidentiality, integrity, replay attack, location trace. This protocol reduces the time for authentication minimizing the number of hash operation in back-end database.
Keyword Recommendation System by Sensor information in Mobile Environments

In this paper, a mobile search engine architecture that predicts user's search words and recommends them to users in estimated preference order without having additional user inputs. Information obtained from sensors is first sent to the recommendation engine. The related contents are extracted from the context and history databases and recommending words are selected from the contents. Finally, the words are delivered to the mobile device for suggestion. To evaluate the implemented system response time is measured. A satisfaction survey is also performed for 50 users, and improvement in the proposed system is observed.

Recently, the demand for various contents and mobile web service has been rising due to the improvement of the techniques of wireless networks. In mobile web service, it is essential to exchange the device informations and contents using specific information which are standardized for users, operators and contents providers. This is based on the existing service providers based on the existing terminal, which provides information to help plan and operate independently of the mobile Web services and content services for various users needs. In this paper, the interoperable DDL is proposed for providing contents to fit with each different mobile device, which contributes toward the optimized mobile web service and guarantee the interoperability of device information. and we implemented the device information processing system, which has the purpose of servicing the device information and verifying the result to the interoperability of mobile web service on proposed DDL and the description language of the device information.
Adaptive Macroblock Quantization Method for H.264 Codec

This paper presents a new adaptive macroblock quantization algorithm which generates the output bits corresponding to the target bit budget. The H.264 standard uses various coding modes and optimization methods to improve the compression performance, which makes it difficult to control the amount of the generated traffic accurately. In the proposed scheme, linear regression analysis is used to analyze the relationship between the bit rate of each macroblock and the quantization parameter and to predict the MAD values. Using the predicted values, the quantization parameter of each macroblock is determined by the Lagrange multiplier method and then modified according to the difference between the bit budget and the generated bits. It is shown by experimental results that the new algorithm can generate output bits accurately corresponding to the target bit rates.
Image Encryption using Cellular Automata Sequence with Two Maximum Cycle

In this paper, we propose an image encryption method using two linear MLCA(Maximum Length Cellular Automata). The encryption method first sets arbitrary 8 bit initial values. Next, we create high quality PN(pseudo noise) sequences by converting rows and columns with the set initial values. hen we generate a basis image using the set PN sequences. Lastly, the final image with high encryption level is produced by XOR operation of the basis image and the original image. In order to verify that the proposed method has the high encryption level, we performed histogram and stability analysis.
Development of stimulator for peripheral disturbance therapy using A variable Micro-electromagnetic

It has increased that peripheral disturbance(blood flow, nerve, Raynaud's phenomenon) and finger rheumatoid arthritis which is caused by the diabetic complications. To improve these pain issues, we proposed new method for the Finger Disease Therapy(FDT). In this paper, we manufactured solenoid cylindrical coil which was only for the FDT using a variable micro-electromagnetic. Also, we designed the Finger Disease Therapy System(FDTS) which could select three stimulation modes(N_pulse, S_pulse, N/S_pulse) and frequency(0.25hz, 0.5hz, 1hz). We used a Teslameter to measure magnetic flux inner solenoid, and measured magnetic flux as distance(0 ~ 3cm) inner solenoid with stimulation modes and frequency. In the results, magnetic flux was the highest in center of solenoid(0cm) for all stimulation modes. Also, the highest magnetic flux was measured as N_pulse(294.3mT), S_pulse(293.8mT) in 1Hz and N/S_pulse (275.4mT) in 0.25Hz, respectively. Therefore, we developed the FDTS using various pattern and intensity for finger diseases therapy, and checked therapy clinic application possibility of the FDTS as measuring magnetic flux inner solenoid.
A Stereo Matching Method Based on the Dynamic Programming to Reduce the Streaking Phenomena

The dynamic programming based methods, a kind of globally optimizing stereo matching methods, has the inherent advantage that the occlusion regions can be found during the process. But it also has a serious drawback of streaking phenomena. This paper focuses on reducing the streaking phenomena by adjusting the penalties in calculating the cost matrix and re-establishing the optimal path in the back-tracing process using the boundary information of the image. Especially we use a pixel expansion method in re-establishing the path, which is the results from expanding the pixel information of the ones just left the boundaries. Experiments with the four image pairs provided by the Middlebury site showed the results that the proposed method has the disparity error ratio of 6.33% and the rank is 29, which is competitive to the best method among the previously published dynamic programming based methods.
-On Acupoints & Trigger Points- Muscle fatigue evaluation using the Micro-electromagnetic stimulation

The aim of this study was developing the non-invasive focused magnetic stimulation system(NI_FMSS) that can stimulates acupoints which are small parts and knotted muscular tissues. To evaluate pain treatment effect of the NI_FMSS, we caused muscle fatigue to 25 subjects in biceps of the arm. Then, we stimulated acupoints(trigger points) HT2 using low frequency stimulator(10 subjects) and NI_FMSS(10 subjects). The other 5 subjects had not been stimulated. We analyzed muscle fatigue recovery with median frequency, RMS and median power in frequency domain for 5 days. We checked the magnetic stimulation effect on acupoint by evaluation of muscle fatigue recovery. Therefore, we identified that the NI_FMSS was more efficient system to relieve muscle pain than electric-stimulation system.
Tracking of eyes based on the iterated spatial moment using weighted gray level

In this paper, an eye tracking method is presented by using on iterated spatial moment adapting weighted gray level that can accurately detect and track user's eyes under the complicated background. The region of face is detected by using Haar-like feature before extracting region of eyes to minimize an region of interest from the input picture of CCD camera. And the region of eyes is detected by using eigeneye based on the eigenface of Principal component analysis. Also, feature points of eyes are detected from darkest part in the region of eyes. The tracking of eyes is achieved correctly by using iterated spatial moment adapting weighted gray level.
A Study on Image Restoration in Impulse Noise Environments

In the transmitting process of image signal processing system, there are several different causes of degradation that have been occuring. The main cause of degradation is attributed to the noise. The most representive method of removing noise of image, which is caused by impulse noise environment, is using the SM filter. At edge, the filter has a special feature which has a tendency to decrease. As a result, we proposed a nonlinear filter using the form of mask and the probability of the impulse noise to restore the image considering edge quality in the impulse noise environment. And through the simulation, we compared with the existings and capabilities.
Measuring the Effectiveness of Teaching and Actual Condition of Internet Ethics of the Undergraduate Students

The internet which is fast spread over all areas of our lives provides us with benefits of efficiency, productivity, and amusement; however, its features as an anonymous and non-face-to-face medium have raised a serious social issue of the collapse of internet ethics due to the abuse of it. Thereupon, the importance of internet ethics education has been highlighted to prevent side effects resulted from the internet and cultivate human-centered internet culture. In this paper, we suggests desirable methods for internet ethics education based on the investigation and analysis of the status of university freshmen's internet ethics. This research conducted a survey and analyzed its result after categorizing the status of internet ethics into the invasion of private information, invasion of intellectual property rights, harmful information, internet communication culture, cyber violence, internet addiction, and internet fraud. And based on the result of analyzing their internet ethics, this paper suggests desirable methods for internet ethics education. Next, internet ethics education was conducted by applying the proposed methods for internet ethics education, and its educational effect was evaluated. According to the result of verifying the educational effect measured statistically, it has proved that the suggested internet ethics education is effective to improve undergraduates' internet ethics.

In this paper, Quad-Band small antenna for GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800, DCS1900 is designed and fabricated. The antenna achieved the size reduction of over 67.9 % than the conventional PIFA(Planar Inverted-F Antenna) by using a MD(Magneto-Dielectric) material. A simple feeding microstrip line is used to feed the antenna from a
coaxial line, which is capacitively coupled to the grounded patch structure for broadband characteristics. The impedance bandwidth the proposed antenna shows good results as broadband characteristics of 1341 MHz (801 ~ 2142 MHz) in VSWR < 3 (
) and the gain is -6.67 ~ 4.25 dBi in the operating frequency.
SCORM-based Contents Organization System on Learners' Level

Many e-learning systems adopts SCORM as an e-learning standard. E-learning systems evaluate and apply the learning difficulty in order to improve the studying efficiency. But, it is hard to change the learning difficulty and provide the customized learning contents during studying in SCORM. Because it is difficult to provide the customized contents to learners by changing the learners' level at runtime and to control optional learning. In this paper, we designed and implemented SCORM-based Contents Organization System on learners' level(SCOS) for complementing the SCORM's weakness. SCOS re-evaluates a learner's level whenever the learner's level is changed during learning, and provides customized contents on the learner's level.
ZigBee Network Formation based on Trust Model and Trustworthiness Measurement

The ZigBee is one of the most important technologies for composing USN. It is one of the IEEE 802.15.4 standards to support personal area networks. It uses a hierarchical routing or an on-demand route discovery strategy as an address allocation method. A hierarchical routing doesn't use a routing table but only uses a child node or a parent node as an intermediate node for data delivery. Therefore, the ZigBee network's topology greatly affects the overall network performance. In this paper, we propose a more trustworthy algorithm than only using the depth and widely variable LQI during network formation, and moreover we propose an algorithm to measure network's trustworthiness. We simulate our algorithm using the NS-2 and implement our network using the MG2400 ZigBee module for verifying performance.
Indoor Localization in Wireless Sensor Network using LVQ

This paper proposed indoor location recognition method based on RSSI(received signal strength indication) using the LVQ network. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we performed experiments, and then compared to the conventional triangularity measurement method. In the experiments, we set up the system to the laboratory, divided the 40 section, and installed 6 nodes as a reference node. We obtained the log-normal path loss model of wireless channels, RSSI converted into the distance. The distance values used as the input of LVQ. To learn the LVQ network, we set the target values as section indices. In the experiments, we determined the optimal number of subclass, and confirmed that the success rate of training phase was 96%, test phase was 91%.
Real-time Intelligent Health and Attention Monitoring System for Car Driver

Recently, researches related with automative mechanism have been widely studied to increase the driver's safety by continuously monitoring the driver's health condition to prevent driver's drowsiness. This paper describes the design of wearable chest belt for ECG and reflectance pulse oximetry for SpO2 sensors based on wireless sensor network to monitor the driver's healthcare status. ECG, SpO2 and heart rate signals can be transmitted via wireless sensor node to base station connected to the server. Intelligent monitoring system is designed at the server to analyze the SpO2 and ECG signals. HRV (Heart Rate Variability) signals can be obtained by processing the ECG and PPG signals. HRV signals are further analyzed based on time and frequency domain to determine the driver's drowsiness status.
Performance Evaluation and Enhancement of Transmission Technique in Wireless Sensor Networks

Sensor network is used to obtain sensing data in various area. The interval to sense the events depends on the type of target application and the amounts of data generated by sensor nodes are not constant. Many applications exploit long sensing interval to enhance the life time of network but there are specific applications that requires very short interval to obtain fine-grained, high-precision sensing data. If the number of nodes in the network is increased and the interval to sense data is shortened, the amounts of generated data are greatly increased and this leads to increased amount of packets to transfer to the network. To transfer large amount of packets fast, it is necessary that the delay between successive packet transmissions should be minimized as possible. In this paper, we propose SET(SendDoneEventbasedTransmission Technique)which reduces the delay between successive packet transmissions by using SendDone Event which informs that a packet transmission has been completed. In SET, the delay between successive packet transmissions is shortened very much since the transmission of next packet starts at the time when the transmission of previous packet has completed, irrespective of the transmission time. Therefore SET could provide high packet transmission rate given large amount of packets.
