Research On Technical Writing Educational Methods Based On Complex Learning Systems

This paper examines technical writing and teaching methods based on the perspectives of the complex learning system theory. So, the paper first discusses the constituent elements and characteristics of the complex learning system theory and continues to examine the potential of applying the complex learning system theory to new teaching methods. As a result, not only did the research expand the approach methods of providing technical writing education but also confirmed the potential of actual implementation. Such results will provide a leeway to start applying new teaching methods for technical writing education. Furthermore, the paper proposes more detailed case studies related to this topic as well as development of this research to produce textbooks and other higher level researches.

In this paper, we propose a Axially displaced ellipse gregorian antenna with conical feed horn operating in Ku-band. For fast searching satellite position, it is designed the sub-reflector rotates about
tilted by the central axis. the curvature and feed center of the main-reflector and sub-reflector are optimized to achieve maximum antenna efficiency. The designed reflector antenna shows the gain of 33dB and the cross polarization level of less than -21dB and the side-lobe level of less than －14 dB at 12.2 GHz. and C/N ratio of 19dB is proved by reception experiment of Koreasat with fabricated antenna.
A Study on Dual Circular Polarized Patch Antenna with Compact Size

This paper describes a compact microstrip antenna with dual polarization characteristics. The antenna, receiving both a left-hand circularly polarized(LHCP) wave and a right-hand circularly polarized(RHCP) wave, can be used for a polarization diversity. A diamond-shaped patch with internal empty room is designed for impedance matching as well as size reduction. And slots are added around feeding point to improve input matching. The proposed antenna has been applied to GPS(global positioning system), operating at 1.57GHz. And, the proposed idea has been verified and estimated by simulation. The measurement results show that it has VSWR 2:1 bandwidth of 83MHz, 3dB axial bandwidth of about 58MHz, 3dB beamwidth of 90degree, and gain of 0dBi, respectively, for RHCP. Also, it has similar performances for LHCP.
Performance Improvement of Nonlinear System Modeling Using GMDH

There have been many researches applying GMDH for modelling nonlinear dynamic systems. However, these methods require a great amount of computation in return of the accuracy. Thus, in this paper, we propose a method to reduce the amount of computation in GMDH by adjusting the adopting criterion of input data in decrement while at least maintaining the accuracy. The simulation result verifies that the proposed method can successfully reduce the amount of computation without the expense of the error rate, if not significantly better.
A Semiconductor Defect Inspection Using Fuzzy Reasoning Method

In this paper, we propose a new inspection method that applies fuzzy reasoning method considering the difference of brightness and intensity of illumination by bend together. In the preprocessing phase, we compensate the degree of semiconductor images with bilinear interpolation and moment-rotation. Then we use fuzzy reasoning method with the difference of brightness from error region by pattern matching and the difference of intensity of illumination from bends. Then the result is difuzzified and applied to the final inspection process. In experiment which uses 30 real world semiconductors with strait shots and side shots, the proposed method successfully discard the false positive identified by conventional brightness comparison only method without any loss of misidentification.
Maximum Entropy-based Emotion Recognition Model using Individual Average Difference

In this paper, we propose a maximum entropy-based emotion recognition model using the individual average difference of emotional signal, because an emotional signal pattern depends on each individual. In order to accurately recognize a user's emotion, the proposed model utilizes the difference between the average of the input emotional signals and the average of each emotional state's signals(such as positive emotional signals and negative emotional signals), rather than only the given input signal. With the aim of easily constructing the emotion recognition model without the professional knowledge of the emotion recognition, it utilizes a maximum entropy model, one of the best-performed and well-known machine learning techniques. Considering that it is difficult to obtain enough training data based on the numerical value of emotional signal for machine learning, the proposed model substitutes two simple symbols such as +(positive number)/-(negative number) for every average difference value, and calculates the average of emotional signals per second rather than the total emotion response time(10 seconds).

FMCW(Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) Radar is very useful for vehicle collision warning system because of the simplicity. In this work, a signal processing part of FMCW vehicle radar system is implemented with flexibility using DSP, FPGA, ADC, and DAC so that the system could adopt lots of algorithm and could be improved through road test. It is shown that the system meets basic requirements as designed, and finds some problems in road test. We briefly discuss the problem which are caused by shadow effect from overlapped target and the distortion of beat frequency from the nonlinearity of VCO and the RCS of vehicle.

This thesis presents an emotion-based contents player platform that can change its visual and aural components as user's emotions. It analyzes the emotion as pleasant, unpleasant, aroused, and relaxed based on the physiological signals and the user's active response. Accordingly. the system reorganizes graphical and aural stimuli, such as, light, color, sound, in real-time. It can be used to develop and show the emotional contents and also be applied for the systematic analysis to find out how the components would affect the emotion. This paper describes overall the system architecture and the implementations of the sub-systems, as well as the actual contents built on top of the platform.

Most digital cameras use a single image sensor with Color Filter Array(CFA) for the advantage of costs and speed. The various color interpolation(demosaicing) algorithms are researched to reconstruct a full representation of the image. In this paper, we proposed a method of demosaicing about using weighted directional filter for vertical, horizontal, and diagonal direction edge. The method considered the efficiency of hardware resources for hardware implementation. The performance of proposed method was confirmed by comparing the conventional method in experiments using 24 Kodak test images. The proposed method was designed by Verilog HDL and was verified by using Virtex4 FPGA boards and CMOS Image Sensor.
Fast Intermode Decision Method Using CBP on Variable Block Coding

In this paper, we propose the method that reduce computational complexity for intermode decision using CBP(coded block pattern) and coded information of colocated-MB(macro block). Proposed method classifies MB into best-CBP and normal-CBP according to the characteristics of CBP. On best-CBP, it eliminates the computation for
mode on intermode decision process because the probability for SKIP mode and M-Type mode is 96.3% statistically. On normal-CBP, it selectively eliminates the amount of computation for bit-rate distortion cost, because it uses coded information of colocated-MB and motion vector cost in deciding SKIP mode and M-Type mode. The simulation results show that the proposed method reduces total coding time to 58.44% in average, and is effective in reducing computational burden in videos with little motion.

Sarkar et al. proposed a new Cellular Automata(CA) based security scheme providing both authentication and confidentiality. The application of CA for designing the scheme makes it suitable for hardware implementation. But the proposed method by Sakar dt al. has some problems. This Paper deals with a design, making a prtotype and test methods of Real-time towed Line Array Sensor Data processing board for fast data communication and long range data transmission with SFM(Serial FPDP Module) through Optic-fiber channel. Towed line array sensors are installed in Frigate and the each LAS A, B, C group data from LAS is packed a previously agreed protocol and transmitted to the signal processing unit. Considering the limited space of VME 6U size, LAS Data processing board is designed with MPC8265 PowerPC Controller of Freescale for main system control and Altera's CycloneIII FPGA for sensor data packing, self-test simulation data generation, S/W FIFO et cetera. LAS Data processing board have VxWorks, the RTOS(Real Time Operating System) that present many device drivers, peripheral control libraries on board for real-time data processing.
A Secure Logging for Collection of Digital Evidences

By analyzing logs in computer systems, we can find early various threats and discover answers to respond against them. Also logs can help to collect digital evidences for cybercrimes and to be legal effects for investigation. In this paper, we intend to develop a secure logging in computer systems. Therefore we propose a new secure logging scheme and improve it to apply various environments. The proposed scheme will helps to develop a better logging of collection for digital evidences in computer systems.
Control of Layered Encryption for SVC Video Streaming

Recently, the standardization of SVC technology which can provide adaptive video quality in diverse service environments has been completed. This paper proposes a layered encryption technique which takes into account the prioritized layer characteristics of SVC and control constant encryption complexity satisfying the target computational complexity. In particular, it analyzes the importance of NAL unit in the SVC video layer and suggests a method to apply appropriate encryption complexity proper for it. The effectiveness of the proposed method is proved through the comparison of time required for encryption and the reconstructed video quality using imperfect decryption key.

In this paper, I studied the "Establishment of Fault Tolerant System" as well as the sensor and cylinder that are general components being used in automation equipments. I design a system that when the sensor breaks down on free flow conveyor, it will be converted to virtual sensor system mode by simulation, also I design IPC(Internal Pressure Cylinder), a basis of various applicable fault tolerant system by analyzing the changing of analog data according to the load of operation. With IPC and the increasing ability of developer, the Fault Tolerant System will be widely applied in the increasment of service time of cylinder, grease pouring time expection, fault recognition of cylinder and etc.
Design of Spark Advanced Controller for Improvement in Power and Torque of CNG Bi-Fuel Vehicle

Recently, environmental concerns increased, CNG fuel research for the prevention against air pollution is actively. But, the problems of CNG fuel have less output and a shorter charging distance than gasoline. Especially, the causes of the torque and output reduction are the mixed fuel has a combustion timing loss in case of CNG fuel which has a smaller heating value per a unit volume and a slower flame propagation speed than gasoline. In this paper, we design the spark advanced controller in consideration of the spark timing loss. Through the experimental of chassis dynamometer, we show that maximum power and torque have improved compared to that of general CNG bi-fuel system.
A study on the electrical characteristics of CdZnS/CdTe heterojunction

A CdS film has been used as a window layer in CdTe and Cu(In,Ga)
thin films solar cell. Partial substitution of Zn for Cd increases the photocurrent and the open-circuit voltage by providing a match in the electron affinities of the two materials and the higher band gap. In this paper, CdZnS/CdTe and CdS/CdTe heterojunctions were fabricated and the electrical characteristics were investigated. Current-voltage-temperature measurements showed that the current transport for CdS/CdTe heterojunction was controlled by both tunneling and interface recombination. However, CdZnS/CdTe heterojunction displayed different current transport mechanism with the operating temperature. For above room temperature, the current transport of device was generation/recombination in the depletion region and was the leakage current and/or tunneling in the range below room temperature.
Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging(DITI) analysis by micro-magnetic stimulation for muscle fatigue recovery and muscle pain control

In this study, change of body surface temperature was measured using Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging(DITI) to check muscle fatigue recovery & muscle pain control by magnetic stimulations. For clinical trials, subjects were divided into 3 groups : non stimulation group(NSG), electrical stimulation group(ESG) and micro magnetic stimulation group(MSG). In result, temperature differences between left and right arm surfaces were measured as much as
(n=96) after the exercise,
after the electrical stimulation and
after the micro magnetic stimulation. Also after 3days, temperature differences between left and right arm surfaces were measured as much as
in the NSG,
in the ESG and
in the MSG. These data showed that the lowest temperature difference between left/right body surface was measured in MSG.
Luminance Stabilization of Image Sequence

Due to light condition or shadow around camera, acquired image sequence is often degraded by intensity fluctuation. This artifact is called luminance flicker. As the luminance flicker corrupts the performance of motion estimation or object detection, it should be corrected before further processing. In this paper, we analyze the flicker generation model and propose the new algorithm for flicker reduction. The proposed algorithm considers gain and offset parameter separately, and stabilizes the luminance fluctuation based on these parameters. We show the performance of the proposed method by testing on the sequence with artificially added luminance flicker and real sequence with object motion.
Improve Stereo Matching by considering the Characteristic Points of the Image and the Cost Function

This thesis proposes an adaptive variable-sized matching window method using the characteristic points of the image and a method to increase the reliability of the cross-consistency check to raise the correctness of the final disparity image. The proposed adaptive variable-sized window method segments the image with the color information, finds the characteristic points in each segmented image, and varies the size of the matching window according to the existence of the characteristic points inside the window. Also the proposed cross-consistency check method processes the two cases with the cost values corresponding to the best disparity and the second-best disparity: when the cost values themselves are too large and when the difference between the two cost values are too small. The two proposed methods were experimented with the four test images provided by the Middleburry site. As the results from the experiments, the proposed adaptive variable-sized matching window method decreased up to 18.2% of error ratio and the proposed cross-consistency check method increased up to 7.4% of reliability.
Fabrication optimization of Fiber Bragg gratings

Optical fiber Bragg grating to have the lowest transmitivity at 1549.9nm wavelength was fabricated using a Gaussian distributed KrF Eximer laser of 248nm lasing wavelength and a phase mask of 1.072um period. The proper alignment of an optic setup to fabricate fiber gratings was investigated and the reproductivity of the grating fabrication was examined using the obtained optimum fabrication condition in this experiment.

In this paper, we research the method for write quality improvement by temperature characteristic of Laser diode for optical recording. Differential Resistance of Blu-ray laser diode is changed by temperature. We analyze the effect of the change of the differential resistance in low temperature and propose the method for the write quality improvement.
Development of Mobile System for Field Data Acquisition based on CompactFlash Card

Field data acquisition is faster in PDA-based mobile environment compared with document-based data acquisition, ensuring accurate data acquisition. However, portable DAQ systems of mobile environment can effectively replace DAQ systems embedded in computers but are less capable than DAQ systems embedded in computers and usually used in environments different from computers, causing noises whose cause are characteristics not certainly known. Therefore, in order to collect mobile-based field data, CompactFlash card-based hardware prototypes are suggested and mobile applications which guarantee acquisition of large amount of data with low hardware capability are performed. According to the test, mobile environments such as PDA were proved to be an effective way of collecting large amount of data. However, hardware performance has major effects on sequential data acquisition in mobile environments regardless of data display.
A Study on Distribution Query Conversion Method for Real-time Integrating Retrieval based on TMDR

This study is intended for implementing the system environment that can help integrate and retrieve various types of data in real-time by providing semantic interoperability among distributed heterogeneous information systems. The semantic interoperability is made possible by providing a TMDR(Topicmaps Metadata Registry), a set of ontologies. TMDR, which has been made by combining MDR(MetaData Registry) and TopicMaps and storing them in the database, is able to generate distributed query and provide efficient knowledge. MDR is a metadata management technique for distributed data management. TopicMaps is an ontology representation technique that takes into consideration the hierarchy and association for accessing knowledge data. We have created TMDR, a kind of ontology, that is fit for any system and able to detect and resolve semantic conflicts on the level of data and schema. With this system we propose a query-processing technique to integrate and access heterogeneous information sources. Unlike existing retrieval methods this makes possible efficient retrieval and reasoning by providing association focusing on subjects.

In this paper, the full color LED billboard or a general quality improvement methods of quality gamma correction, brightness, and brightness adjustment, etc., regardless of the overall color of images uniformly bright or dark have been taken care of. The video itself, but simply expressed as a uniform brightness of a certain size, how to adjust the brightness of input video signal does not reflect the characteristics of the entire screen with just a lighter or darker line is only feeling was brought. So, unlike conventional video transmission system with new LED display technology in the histogram analysis of image data is input by the input image data by determining the luminance values of the attributes are reflected, as appropriate based on the histogram of the distribution of brightness values By controlling the LED display is expressed in the uniform image can improve the brightness control, histogram distribution of the image as full color billboards driven processing technology is proposed.
On Routing for Enhancing Destination-Location Privacy in Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper we consider methods for selecting the next tracing node that take advantage of the history of traced positions during the packet-tracing. In the meantime, the proposed routing strategy that counters the tracing is to design the routing path is such a way that nodes on it are not close to the nodes whose location privacy is needed and zigzag or back-and-forth movements hardly take place. In simulations, the ratios of successful tracing were largely improved. It was shown that our routing scheme allows more data packets to be delivered to the destination while, enticing the tracer to move more long distances in the presence of multiple assets.

Government ships, the ships owned by a state and operated for non-commercial purposes (hereinafter, government ships) are entitled to sovereign immunity. In accordance with sovereign immunity under traditional international law, states enjoy immunity from the jurisdiction of courts of another state. Sovereign immunity is the general principle accomplished through judicial cases and international treaties since the 19th century. The problem is that the restriction of jurisdiction on foreign government ships in Korean jurisdictional waters is a considerable threatening factor on the maritime security situation. In spite of dubious intention of foreign government ships, the counter measures should be limited because of sovereign immunity.
