The Image sensor needs various image processing to improve image quality. ISP(Image Signal Processor) performs various image processing. Conventional vision cameras have own software ISP functions and perform in PC instead of using commercial ISP chips. However these methods have problems such as large computation for image processing. In this paper, we proposed ISP that significantly reduced chip area by efficient sharing of hardware and software. Large operation blocks are designed to hardware for high performances, and we used hardware simultaneously with software considering the size of the hardware. The implemented ISP can process VGA(640*4800) images and has 91450 gate sizes in 0.35um process.

In this paper, a small broadband dipole antenna that simultaneously satisfies DCS1800/PCS/WCDMA/WLAN is designed and fabricated. To reduce the size and to improve the bandwidth of planar microstrip dipole antenna, a new symmetric double-ring radiator structure is used. An antenna can be reduced with increasing effective current length of dipole, and can be obtained a wide band impedance characteristic with decreasing reactance component by using a novel symmetrical double-ring structure. A Study on Accuracy Improvement for Range and Velocity Estimates in a FM-CW Radar

A FM-CW radar is used for the various purposes as a remote sensing device since it has the advantages of the relatively simple implementation and the low probability of signal interception. A FM-CW radar uses the same frequency modulated continuous wave for both transmission and demodulation. Therefore, the received beat frequency represents the range and Doppler information of targets. However, using the conventional FFT method, the degree of accuracy and resolution in the spectrum estimation can be seriously degraded in the detection and tracking of fast moving targets because of the short dwell time. Therefore, in this paper, the model parameter estimation methods called as an autoregressive method is applied to overcome these problems and showed that the improved accuracy and resolution can be obtained for the target range and velocity estimation.

The performance of noise attenuation of the adaptive active noise control algorithm is improved using the recurrent neural network. The FXLMS that has been frequently used in the active noise control is simple and has low computational load, but this method is weak to nonlinearity of the main or secondary path since it is based on the FIR linear filter method. In this paper, the recurrent neural network filter has been developed and applied to improvement of the active noise attenuation by simulation.
A Development of Object Position Information Extraction Algorithm using Stereo Vision

As factory automation is getting popular, there has been a lot of research concerned with stereo vision systems as a part of an automation system with unmanned moving equipment. In the stereo vision system, information about an object could be gained by searching through images. Edges which are based on the information about an object are used to find the position of the object and send a message of its position coordinate to a unmanned crain. This thesis proposes an algorithm to find the center point of the object`s surface which is connected to the unmanned crain`s hookblock, and to recognize the shape of the object by using two CCD cameras. At first, getting information about the edges, and distinguishing each edge`s characteristics depend on user`s option, and then find the location information by a set of positions that are proposed. This thesis is expected to be devoted to the development of an automation system of unmanned moving equipment.
Design and Implementation of Depolarized FOG based on Digital Signal Processing

The interferometric fiber optic gyroscopes (FOGs) are well known as sensors of rotation, which are based on Sagnac effect, and have been under development for a number of years to meet a wide range of performance requirements. This paper describes the development of open-loop FOG and digital signal processing techniques implemented on FPGA. Our primary goal was to obtain intermediate accuracy (pointing grade) with a good bias stability (0.22deg) and scale factor stability, extremely low angle random walk (0.07deg) and significant cost savings by using a single mode fiber. A secondary goal is to design all digital FOG signal processing algorithms with which the SNR at the digital demodulator output is enhanced substantially due to processing gain. The Cascaded integrator bomb(CIC) type of decimation filter only requires adders and shift registers, low cost processors which has low computing power still can used in this all digital FOG processor.
WiMAX Channel Allocation Scheme for Heterogeneous Service

Mobile WiMAX system provides broadband wireless access with a variety of services such as voice, video and data communications and providing QoS for each of these services become an important issue. In Mobile WiMAX system, it is important to allocate resources appropriately in order to support the efficient utilization of resources among various real-time and non real-time services. Although many packet scheduling schemes for real-time services in OFDMA system have been proposed, it need to be modified to apply to Mobile WiMAX system. Since Mobile WiMAX supports five types of service classes, QoS constraints of each class should be taken into consideration. In this paper, we propose an efficient packet scheduling scheme to support various services by considering the QoS constraints of each class.
Energy Saving Algorithm of the Home Gateway considering Service Usage Patterns

Home Gateway is always on for continuous services of home networks. Ubiquitous home networks are extended. so power consumption of home gateways increases by geometric progression. Our algorithm is for home gateway to sleep, listen or wakeup according to network traffic adaptively, as well as to keep always-on service. To do this, it traces the accumulated average of previous sleep periods. In addition to this basic algorithm, we make the profiles for user`s living pattern per the day to reflect network usages in detail and adaptively. As the simulation results by comparing with overall accumulated average and per-day accumulated average, in case of the overall accumulated average, the difference the estimation and real value is distributed from 0.43% to 4%. In contrast of this, in case of the per-day accumulated average is distributed from 0.06% to 2%. From this results, we know the profiling of per-day usage pattern can help reduce the difference of the real sleep period and the estimated sleep period.
Interoperability Framework between GRID and PACS based on Web Services

Recently the increasing collaborative research requires the remote medical and clinical data sharing and access of external institutions. In this paper, an interoperability framework between Grid and PACS using Web services is proposed and implemented in order to provide flexible and efficient medical data management. The Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine(DICOM) standard defines medical image data exchange and transfer between PACSs and image databases. However, medical data exchange between hospitals is limited within the trusted and static environments. Moreover, DICOM does not provide medical data management and the Grid middleware does not include standard toolkit to access DICOM data. To address this issue, a Web services-based Grid Service Mediator (WGSM) which provides PACS integration and medical image data management is developed. The WGSM consists of several service mediators such as compress mediator, GridFTP mediator, RFT mediator, MyProxy mediator, MDS mediator, and RLS mediator and others. The proposed Web services-based framework provides user authentication and secure data access between PACSs in collaborative environments. In particular, the WGSM allows ordinary users to access remote PACS data in a simple and efficient manner without any the knowledge about underlying Grid middleware.
Skin Color Region Segmentation using classified 3D skin

In order to detect the skin color area from input images, many prior researches have divided an image into the pixels having a skin color and the other pixels. In a still image or videos, it is very difficult to exactly extract the skin pixels because lighting condition and makeup generate a various variations of skin color. In this thesis, we propose a method that improves its performance using hierarchical merging of 3D skin color model and context informations for the images having various difficulties. We first make 3D color histogram distributions using skin color pixels from many YCbCr color images and then divide the color space into 3 layers including skin color region(Skin), non-skin color region(Non-skin), skin color candidate region (Skinness). When we segment the skin color region from an image, skin color pixel and non-skin color pixels are determined to skin region and non-skin region respectively. If a pixel is belong to Skinness color region, the pixels are divided into skin region or non-skin region according to the context information of its neighbors. Our proposed method can help to efficiently segment the skin color regions from images having many distorted skin colors and similar skin colors.
Image Segmentation Algorithm for Fish Object Extraction

This paper proposes the image segmentation algorithm to extracts a fish object from a fish image for fish image retrieval. The conventional algorithm using gray level similarity causes wrong image segmentation result in the boundary area of the object and the background with similar gray level. The proposed algorithm uses the reinforced edge and the adaptive block-based threshold for the boundary area with weak contrast and the virtual object to improve the eroded or disconnected object in the boundary area without contrast. The simulation results show that the percentage of extracting the visual-fine object from the test images is under 90% in the conventional algorithm while it is 97.7% in the proposed algorithms.
A Virtual Makeup Program Using Facial Feature Area Extraction Based on Active Shape Model and Modified Alpha Blending

In this paper, facial feature areas in user picture are created by facial feature points extracted by ASM(Active Shape Model). In a existing virtual make-up application, users manually select a few features that are exactly. Users are uncomfortable with this method. We propose a virtual makeup application using ASM that does not require user input. In order to express a natural makeup, the modified alpha blendings for each cosmetic are used to blend skin color with cosmetic color. The Virtual makeup application was implemented to apply Foundation, Blush, Lip Stick, Lip Liner, Eye Pencil, Eye Liner and Eye Shadow.
Multiplication optimization technique for Elliptic Curve based sensor network security

Sensor network, which is technology to realize the ubiquitous environment, recently, could apply to the field of Mechanic & electronic Security System, Energy management system, Environment monitoring system, Home automation and health care application. However, feature of wireless networking of sensor network is vulnerable to eavesdropping and falsification about message. Presently, PKC(public key cryptography) technique using ECC(elliptic curve cryptography) is used to build up the secure networking over sensor network. ECC is more suitable to sensor having restricted performance than RSA, because it offers equal strength using small size of key. But, for high computation cost, ECC needs to enhance the performance to implement over sensor. In this paper, we propose the optimizing technique for multiplication, core operation in ECC, to accelerate the speed of ECC.

The Key exchange protocols are very crucial tools to provide the secure communication in the broadband satellite access network. The Two Pass EKE-E is secure against the attacks including main-in-the-middle attack and off-line dictionary attack, and the performance is excellent so as beyond to comparison with other authenticated key exchange protocols. The Two Pass EKE-S is a slight modification of the Two Pass EKE-E. The Two Pass EKE-S provides computational in feasibility for learning the password without having performed off line dictionary attack while preserving the performance of the Two Pass EKE-E.

As for information system in hospital which digital hospital aims at, there are PACS(Picture Archiving and Communication System) and soon. PACS transfer and store various medical pictures which are occurring in hospital. The various medical pictures is captured by using keyboard or foot switch during a surgical operation. In this paper, foot switch USB module that can be mounted into a main foot switch case is designed and implemented, it is having a MCU circuit with a built-in micro-controller and a I/O interface having a maximum of five switch. we also developed foot switch control software program with various functions. The result of using the module in the hospital field confirms that the module operates safely.

This paper describes construction of web services system for secure message transmission appling web services standards. This system composes single sign on module, SSL module and secure message module. We applied these modules to price comparison site. Single sign on module used SAML standards. This module was designed, in order to provide authentication and authorization. As SSL module processes message encryption among end to end, messages of this system are secure. Secure message module is designed according to WS-Security standards and processes authentication, XML signature and XML encryption.

A datawarehouse is generally used in organizations for decision and policy making. And In a distribute environment when a new system is added, there needs considerable amount of time and cost due to the difference between the systems. Therefore, to solve this matter. Firstly, heterogeneous data structures can be handled by creating abstract queries according to the standard schema and by separating the queries using XMDR. Secondly, metadata dictionary which defines synonyms of metadata and methods for data expression is used to overcome difference of definition and expression of data. Especially, work presented in this thesis provides standardized information for data integration and minimizing the effects of integration on local systems in discrete environments using XMDR to create information of data warehouse in realtime.

In this paper, we design a redundancy control circuit for 1T-SRAM repair using electrical fuse programming. We propose a dual port eFuse cell to provide high program power to the eFuse and to reduce the read current of the cell by using an external program supply voltage when the supply power is low. The proposed dual port eFuse cell is designed to store its programmed datum into a D-latch automatically in the power-on read mode. In this paper, we propose the hardware architecture of a display converter which is consisted of four functional blocks. The four functional blocks consists of a set of color space converter, de-interacer, video display scaler, and gamma corrector. After the proposed architecture was implemented into hardware, we verified that it operated exactly. The designed hardware has 7,629 LUT and 6,800 Logic Register in Stratix device of Altera and operates in 270 MHz clock frequency.
Classification of walking patterns using acceleration signal

This classification of walking patterns is important and many kinds of applications. Therefore, we attempted to classify walking on level ground from slow walking to fast walking using a waist acceleration signal. A tri-axial accelerometer was fixed to the subject`s waist and the three acceleration signals were recorded by bluetooth module at a sampling rate of 100 Hz eleven healthy. The data were analyzed using discrete wavelet transform. Walking patterns were classified using two parameters; One was the ratio between the power of wavelet coefficients which were corresponded to locomotion and total power in the anteroposterior direction (RPA). The other was the ratio between root mean square of wavelet coefficients at the anteroposterior direction and that at the vertical direction(RAV). Slow walking could be distinguished by the smallest value in RPA from other walking pattern. Fast walking could be discriminated from level walking using RAV. It was possible to classify the walking pattern using acceleration signal in healthy people.
Implementation of Digitizing System for Sea Level Measurements Record

It is much needed research for ocean scientists to implement a digitizing system that effectively extracts and digitializes sea level records accumulated from the past. The main difficulty of such a system is huge anount of data to be processed. In this paper, we implement a digitizing system to handle such mass-data of sea level records. This system consists of a pre-process step, a digitizing step and a post-process step. In pre-process step, the system adjusts skewnesses of scanned images and normalizes the size of images automatically. Then, it extracts a graph area from images and thins the graph area in digitizing step. Finally, in the post-process step, the system tests the reliability. It is cost-effective and labour-reducing software for scientists not wasting their time to such boring manual digitizing jobs.
Robust Motion Estimation for Luminance Fluctuation Sequence

This In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm for motion estimation of the image sequences with luminance fluctuation. For such sequences, conventional motion estimation methods based on the difference of pixel values usually produce the erroneous motion information. The proposed algorithm defines the luminance fluctuation as a linear model with gain and offset parameter, and extracts motion information using gradient and phase of the corresponding local region within consecutive frames. Therefor the method is robust to the luminance change of the frames. We test our algorithm for the ground truth sequence with artificially added luminance change and motion, and real sequences corrupted by the flicker. The results shows that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional methods.
Multi-legged robot system enabled to decide route and recognize obstacle based on hand posture recognition

In this paper, multi-legged robot was designed and produced using stable walking pattern algorithm. The robot had embedded camera and wireless communication function and it is possible to recognize both hand posture and obstacles. The algorithm decided moving paths, and recognized and avoided obstacles through Hough Transform using Edge Detection of inputed image from image sensor. The robot can be controlled by hand posture using Mahalanobis Distance and average value of skin`s color pixel, which is previously learned in order to decide the destination. The developed system has shown obstacle detection rate of 96% and hand posture recognition rate of 94%.

In this paper, RFID technology was applied to fitness center and order to exercise the right of each user without the guidance of a personal trainer should be made systematically. for example, excercise sequence, equipment usage, excercise and golas etc. Also, Customers who use the fitness center using RFID is trainer at a low-cost under the guidance of the same effect can be expected. In this paper, we developed a RFID tag antenna using one-sheet inlay pattern which consist of two different frequencies in one layer. The antenna in one-sheet inlay RFID tag does not use different kind RFID antennas in a card but implement 13.56MHz and 900MHz RFID tag antennas in one sheet. In order to evaluate the usability of proposed method, we configured test equipments and designed 6 different patterns and test the recognition distance of each pattern. Among the one-sheet inlay RFID tag antenna designs, the pattern no.5 has good performance with recognition distance of 5.34m at 900MHz and 3.5m at 13.56MHz.
Serious Game : A Study on Aware of Protection for Rights of Software and Digital Contents

There are scattered various kinds of software and digital contents around modern peoples. Most of peoples do not realize the importance of the problem related with rights protections of software and digital contents that most of peoples are acting illegal use or illegal copy of software or digital contents without any sense of guilt. In this paper, we carry out a survey targeting IT department majors and non-IT department majors about their aware of rights of software and digital contents and then we suggest a problem from the results of a survey and study a solution for advancing problem of aware of rights. The most effective solution of aware improvement of rights is continuous and repetitive education concerning rights. Also, Reasonable prices that should makes for paying cost of copyrights by users.
