To visualize a strategic plan including resource allocations and standardization schedules, it is important to set priorities among information and communication technologies(ICTs) standardization work areas(SWAs). This ranking process involves decision making process with multiple criteria which results a complex selection problem. In this study, analytic hierarchy process(AHP) is employed and applied to solve this decision making problem. The processes and results are illustrated for an effective strategic plan in standardization decision processes.
Measurement of the planar substrate dielectric constant using a microstrip line

This paper suggested the fast and easy method of the dielectric constant measurement for planar dielectrics using a microstrip line. The complex permittivity and permeability were presented by the first reflection and transmission coefficient which were derived from the scattering parameters. This method was verified by the measurement of a known planar dielectric using a microstrip line. This method can be applied to the dielectric constant measurement of unknown planar dielectric.
Design and Running of a Surveying Ship for Bathymetry of The Manned and Unmanned Control System

Bathymetry which is mainly used on the earth or the sea can be surveyed directly by a person who is on a surveying ship or in a way one estimates the target through a surveying ship. However, the surveying ship which is being used now is divided into a manned and unmanned system and it's difficult to deal with it appropriately according to the water depth or the condition of weather. Therefore, this study will invent the surveying ship that can measure the water depth with the unmanned remote control system in the place where it's difficult to for man access because of a bad weather or a vast area. There are two methods in the control system of the manned and unmanned surveying ship which has been developed in this study. One is an automatic control which moves on the path set by the user in advance and the other is the optimized passive control in which the control station can manage the direction and speed of a surveying ship directly.

In this paper, we first analyze the differences of underwater acoustic (UWA) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems and conventional terrestrial OFDM system, and give a simple introduction of the backgrounds. By considering the real UWA channel environments, the measured channel data is used to generate the UWA channel model and calculate the relative parameters for underwater OFDM systems. Practical least square (LS) based channel estimation with linear interpolation are adopted to obtain the channel state information (CSI) at receiver side. As multi-input multi-output (MIMO) processing techniques, Alamouti code is implemented and evaluated to perform for space time block coding (STBC) and space frequency block coding (SFBC) for UWA OFDM systems with the MIMO configuration of

maximum ratio combining (MRC) is performed for the purpose of comparison. The simulation results show that, with perfect channel estimation, SFBC failed to work duo to the serious frequency selectivity of UWA channel environments. When the practical channel estimation is applied, in the case of STBC, the proposed 4-column pilot pattern gives better performance about 7dB than SISO system.

In this paper, underwater acoustic communication experiment was carried out to test a performance of single carrier digital modulation schemes. The communication experiment was performed at real sea and tested modulation schemes are ASK, FSK with non-coherent detection and QPSK with coherent detection. An Architecture Supporting Emergency Services in WiBro Networks

WiBro network technologies developed mainly by Korea are one of very promising 4G technologies. WiBro has been standardized as international standard called Mobile WiMAX, and has been deployed in many countries. Emergency Services in WiBro networks are infrastructure services and will be very essential to induce subscribers from other types of networks. This paper proposes a network architecture for supporting emergency services for WiBro mobile VoIP networks. The proposed architecture is based on WMF's architecture for international compatibilities, and reflects national considerations on interfacing PSAP for domestic compatibilities.
A Study on Probability of Bit Error for Wavelet in 4-ary SWSK System

This paper presents a study on the performance analysis on probability of bit error for wavelet in 4-ary SWSK system. The formula for the bit error probability in 4-ary SWSK system was derived from the conventional method. This paper experimentally implements the probability of bit error for Daubechies, Biorthogonal, Coiflet and Symlet wavelet using the conventional formula of bit error probability. Additionally, the performance of bit error probability is analyzed for the period and the number of wavelet taps. Based on the results, we confirmed that the performance of Coiflet and Symlet wavelet for the probability of bit error is superior to the other wavelet, and their probability of bit error are similar.

In this paper, we are implemented the kasumi cipher algorithm by hardware. In this work, kasumi was designed technology-independently for application such as ASIC or core-based design. The hardware is implemented to be able to calculate both confidentiality and integrity algorithm, and a pipelined KASUMI hardware is used for a core operator to achieve high operation frequency. The proposed block cipher was mapped into EPXA10F1020C1 from Altera and used 22% of Logic Element (LE) and 10% of memory element. The result from implementing in hardware (FPGA) could operate stably in 36.35MHz. Accordingly, the implemented hardware are expected to be effectively used as a good solution for the end-to-end security which is considered as one of the important problems.

This paper presents a technique of contstructing and processing the metadata information, which is for UML class authorization tool. Construction of the information authorization tool defines Classes and Relationship based on the elements of the consisting of UML class diagram. Definition of the information class is a visibility of Class, a name of Class, an attribution of Class and an operation of Class. Definition of the relationship with information is a name of Relationship, a type of Relationship, a FromClass and a ToClass. In this paper, for a class authorization tool, it suggests a technique to save and read information from information Storage based on the constructed information.

Augmented multimedia is a technology to provide additional informations to mobile devices when multimedia contents like video, audio and images are being played. Person Wide Web, PWW, is a scheme for acquiring a link and browsing a corresponding web pages on mobile devices, in which the link is attached any object and space in real world. In this paper we proposed an augmented multimedia E-commerce application system based on PWW scheme which can browse additional informations from video play on public spaces, and implemented on Microsoft Silverlight platform. We showed that the proposed system can support effectively the augmented multimedia E-commerce.

In this paper, a new touch user interface which is based on the hand operations of dragging and diversion is presented. With it, convenience and quickness for inputting of texts as well as searching and selecting of multi-layered menus are improved. The new interface also applies relative coordinate systems which display texts on the touch positions corresponding to the moving of touch location. It accommodates more text codes than those in conventional fixed coordinate systems which allocates texts to fixed location on touch screen. The suggested interface is implemented to IPTV remote control and set-top box to prove its practicality and effectiveness.

The emerging of ubiquitous computing and healthcare technologies provides us a strong platform to build sustainable healthcare applications especially those that require real-time information related to personal healthcare regardless of place. We realize that system stability, reliability and data protection are also important requirements for u-healthcare services. Therefore, in this paper, we designed a u-healthcare system which can be attached to the patient's body to measure vital signals, enhanced with USN secure sensor module. Our proposed u-healthcare system is using wireless sensor modules embedded with NLM-128 algorithm. In addition, PS-LFSR technique is applied to the NLM-128 algorithm to enable faster and more efficient computation. We included some performance statistical results in term of CPU cycles spent on NLM-128 algorithm with and without the PS-LFSR optimization for performance evaluation.

Today the company adopts to use information management method at the network base such as internet, intranet and so on for the speed of business. Therefore the security of information asset protection and continuity of business within company in relation to this is directly connected to the credibility of the company. This paper secures continuity to the certified users using queuing model for the business interruption issue caused by DDoS attack which is faced seriously today. To do this I have reflected overloaded traffic improvement process to the queuing model through the analysis of related traffic information and packet when there occurs DDoS attack with worm/virus. And through experiment I compared and analyzed traffic loading improvement for general network equipment.
Analysis on Power Consumption Characteristics of SHA-3 Candidates and Low-Power Architecture

Cryptographic hash functions are also called one-way functions and they ensure the integrity of communication data and command by detecting or blocking forgery. Also hash functions can be used with other security protocols for signature, authentication, and key distribution. The SHA-1 was widely used until it was found to be cryptographically broken by Wang, et. al, 2005. For this reason, NIST launched the SHA-3 competition in November 2007 to develop new secure hash function by 2012. Many SHA-3 hash functions were proposed and currently in review process. To choose new SHA-3 hash function among the proposed hash functions, there have been many efforts to analyze the cryptographic secureness, hardware/software characteristics on each proposed one. However there are few research efforts on the SHA-3 from the point of power consumption, which is a crucial metric on hardware module. In this paper, we analyze the power consumption characteristics of the SHA-3 hash functions when they are made in the form of ASIC hardware module. Also we propose power efficient hardware architecture on Luffa, which is strong candidate as a new SHA-3 hash function. Our proposed low power architecture for Luffa achieves 10% less power consumption than previous Luffa hardware architecture.
A Method for Continuous k Nearest Neighbor Search With Partial Order

In the application areas of LBS(Location Based Service) and ITS(Intelligent Transportation System), continuous k-nearest neighbor query(CkNN) which is defined as a query to find the nearest points of interest to all the points on a given path is widely used. It is necessary to acquire results quickly in the above applications and be applicable to spatial network databases. It is also able to cope successfully with frequent updates of POI objects. This paper proposes a new method to search nearest POIs for moving query objects on the spatial networks. The method produces a set of split points and their corresponding k-POIs as results with partial order among k-POIs. The results obtained from experiments with real dataset show that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods. The proposed method achieves very short processing time(15%) compared with the existing method.
Design and Implementation of Opinion Mining System based on Association Model

For both customers and companies, it is very important to analyze online customer reviews, which consist of small documents that include opinions or experiences about products or services, because the customers can get good informations and the companies can establish good marketing strategies. In this paper, we propose the association model for the opinion mining which can analyze customer opinions posted on web. The association model is to modify the association rules mining model in data mining in order to apply efficiently and effectively the association mining techniques to the opinion mining. We designed and implemented the opinion mining systems based on the modified association model and the grouping idea which would enable it to generate significant rules more.
Implementation And Performance Evaluation of a Synchronization System based on the multi-queue on Mobile Environments

The GIS service has to provide latest spatio-temporal data for the effective service. The two-way synchronization scheme collects updated spatio-temporal data in the field and synchronizes with a server by using the wireless network. However, since the two-way synchronization scheme processes sequentially synchronizing work of clients, it has the problem that the synchronization of multiple clients takes long time. In this paper, we propose the concurrent synchronizations scheme based on the multi-queue in order to reduce the waiting time of multiple clients. We also build both schemes and evaulate the performance test. The results show that the proposed scheme reduce the waiting time by 31%.
An Algorithm for reducing the search time of Frequent Items

With the increasing utility of the recent information system, the methods to pick up necessary products rapidly by using a lot of data has been studied. Association rule search methods to find hidden patterns has been drawing much attention, and the Apriori algorithm is a major method. However, the Apriori algorithm increases search time due to its repeated scans. This paper proposes an algorithm to reduce searching time of frequent items. The proposed algorithm creates matrix using transaction database and search for frequent items using the mean number of items of transactions at matrix and a defined minimum support. The mean number of items of transactions is used to reduce the number of transactions, and the minimum support to cut down on items. The performance of the proposed algorithm is assessed by the comparison of search time and precision with existing algorithms. The findings from this study indicated that the proposed algorithm has been searched more quickly and efficiently when extracting final frequent items, compared to existing Apriori and Matrix algorithm.
Enhanced Methods of Path Finding Based on An Abstract Graph with Extension of Search Space

In this paper, we propose enhanced methods of path finding based on an abstract graph with extension of search space to improve the quality of path. The proposed methods that are called simple buffering method, velocity constrained method and distance constrained method are to extract buffering-cells for using search space with valid-cells. The simple buffering method is to extract adjacent cells of valid-cells as buffering-cells. velocity constrained method and distance constrained method are based on simple buffering method, these eliminate buffering-cells through each of threshold. In experiment, proposed methods can improve the quality of path. The proposed methods are applicable to develop various kinds of telematics application, such as path finding and logistics.
A Splog Detection System Using Support Vector Systems

Blogs are an easy way to publish information, engage in discussions, and form communities on the Internet. Recently, there are several varieties of spam blog whose purpose is to host ads or raise the PageRank of target sites. Our purpose is to develope the system which detects these spam blogs (splogs) automatically among blogs on Web environment. After removing HTML of blogs, they are tagged by part of speech(POS) tagger. Words and their POS tags information is used as a feature type. Among features, we select useful features with X2 statistics and train the SVM with the selected features. Our system acquired 90.5% of F1 measure with SPLOG data set.
Frequency Vibrational Behavior Analysis of Double-Wall Carbon Nanotube Resonator

For a double-walled carbon nanotube resonator with a short outer nanotube, the free edge of the short outer wall plays an important role in the vibration of the long inner nanotube. For a double-walled carbon nanotube resonator with a short inner nanotube, the short inner nanotube can be considered as a flexible core, thus, the fundamental frequency is influenced by its length. In this paper, we analysis frequency variation in ultrahigh frequency nanomechanical resonators based on double-walled carbon nanotubes with different wall length. This results will widely apply to the realization of frequency devices controlling the length of the inner or outer nanotube.
VLSI Architecture of General-purpose Memory Controller with High-Performance for Multiple Master

In this paper, we implemented a high-performence memory controller which can accommodate processing blocks(multiple masters) in SoC for video signal processing. The memory controller is arbitrated by the internal arbiter which receives request signals from masters and sends grant and data signals to masters. The designed memory controller consists of Master Selector, Mster Arbiter, Memory Signal Generator, Command Decoder, and memory Signal Generator. It was designed using VHDL, and verified using the memory model of SAMSING Inc. For FPGA synthesis and verification, Quartus II of ATERA Inc. was used. The target device is Cyclone II. For simulation, ModelSim of Cadence Inc was used. Since the designed H/W can be stably operated in 174.28MHz, it satisfies the specification of SDRAM technology.
Zig-zag electrode pattern for improvement of electro-optic characteristic in polymer stabilized blue phase liquid crystal cell

The polymer-stabilized blue phase liquid crystal (BPLC) cell has advantages such as sub-millisecond response time, wide viewing angle and no rubbing process for the alignment of liquid crystals. However, high operating voltage and low kerr constant of the polymer-stabilized blue phase liquid crystal deteriorate the electro-optical characteristic of the polymer-stabilized BPLC cell. In this paper, we proposed novel zig-zag electrode in cell layout and confirmed that proposed electrode shape could reduce an over 25 percent of operating voltage for BPLC cell without degradation of tranmittance by using Kerr constant simulation.
Analysis of RF Signal Transmission in WDM-ROF Employging Photonic Crystal Fiber

We analyze transmission performance of radio frequency signal in WDM-ROF (wavelength division multiplexing - radio over fiber) system employing photonic crystal fiber. In a WDM-ROF system employing conventional single-mode fiber, transmission performance of radio frequency signal is analyzed depending on each WDM channel. In this case, each WDM channel experiences power fluctuation of received RF signal in remote node because of double sidebands of the modulated signal and wavelength dependent dispersion of single mode fiber. This RF power fluctuation acts as a design constraint in viewpoint of system design. By employing photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with dispersion compensation characteristics, the transmission performance of RF signal can be improved compared with the case with SMF only.
Efficient Tag Authentication Scheme using Tag ID Identification Bits in RFID Environment

RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) is a system to identify objects and its usage is being extended to distribution, healthcare, and air&port etc. RFID is a contactless system environment, and reducing tag authentication time is important because multiple tags are identified at the same time. Studies about RFID system so far is, however, mostly to improve security vulnerability in the tag authentication process. Therefore, this paper suggests an efficient scheme to decrease the time of tag authentication which is also safe for the security of tag authentication process. The proposed scheme cuts down on the tag ID search time because it searches only the classified relevant ID in the database, which is one of many components of RFID system, by using identification bits for tag ID search. Consequently, the suggested scheme decreases process time for tag ID authentication by reducing the processing time and the load of the database. It also brings performance improvement of RFID system as it improves the energy applicability of passive tag.
A Study on Contents Reorganization for Self-Directed Learning

Most of the online learning systems provide information that is based on the item difficulty what is custumized to learner. And the same learning process is performing to the same learning level learners. But, the degree of understanding of the same learning contents can be different even if the learner's level is same. Therefore, it is difficult to represent an effective learning experience because the learning is progressed by the determined difficulty of learning and the learning process even thought the provided content is difficult to understand. So we can control the learning difficulty during learning in order to escape from a uniform learning that online learning is provided. In this paper, we proposed a contents reorganization method for Self-Directed Learning. In this way, learners can understand their own level and customize the difficulty of learning. And then we expect the higher learning effect and satisfaction degree.
Design and Implementation of Collaboration Session-Centric Synchronous Distance Learning System

Most of the computer-based distance learning systems are asynchronous ones that allow students to download from the server the lecture previously given by a lecturer. While these asynchronous systems has the advantage that enable students to view the lecture with no time restriction, the study may not be effective due to the lack of support for real-time interaction between students and lecturers. Based on the student-lecturer-collaboration session model, this paper presents a collaboration session-centric synchronous distance learning system that supports real-time interaction between students and teachers, awareness information during lecture, and feedback from students. Basic feature of the proposed system include audio and video conferencing, text-based chat, and shared slide with annotation support.
Implementation of the wearable PTT measurement system for health monitoring during daily life

Device of the ECG and pulse signal was made to measure PTT signal using non-invasive method and possible to wearable. PTT alterations were observed according to position change using implemented system.It was needed to ECG and pulse to detect the PTT, used the photoplethymorgraphy appeared to change the blood volume. And also wireless sensor node which was able to Zigbee compatibility was used to transfer the detected ECG and pulse signal to PC. Noise was removed from transit data and algorithm was applied to calculate the PTT. After the evaluation of both the conventional measuring systems and the proposed photoplethymography measuring system, a highly effective and efficient formation and distribution sequences were found within the proposed photoplethymography measuring system.
R-peak Detection Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Node for Ubiquitous Healthcare Application

The QRS complex in ECG analysis is possible to obtain much information that is helpful for diagnosing different types of cardiovascular disease. This paper presents the preprocessor method to detect R-peak, RR interval, and HRV in wireless sensor node. The derivative of the electrocardiogram is efficiency of preprocessing method for resource hungry wireless sensor node with low computation. We have implemented R-peak and RR interval detection application based on dECG for wireless sensor node. The sensor node only transfers meaning parameter of ECG. Thus, implementation of sensor node can save power, reduce traffic, and eliminate congestion in a WSN.
Implementation of Flooding Routing Protocol for Field sever using Weather Monitoring System

A field server was developed by using ubiquitous sensor network technology to monitor the abrupt weather variation in local or mountain area. The data transmissions between deployed field servers in local terrain are very important technology in disaster prevention monitoring system. Weather related information such as temperature, humidity, illumination, atmospheric pressure, dew point and meteorological data are collected from the designated field at a regular interval. The received information from the multiple sensors located at the sensor field is used flooding routing protocol transmission techniques and the sensing data is transferred to gateway through multi-hop method. Telosb sensor node are programmed by nesC language in TinyOS platform to monitor the weather parameters of the local terrain.
Design and Implementation of a Diagnosis System for Nuclear Fuel Handling Machine

In this paper we proposed and implemented a diagnosis system to control nuclear fuel handling machine. The proposed system consists of data acquisition system, diagnosis algorithm and faults simulator. Since the test on real operation of the fuel handling machine is impossible, we evaluated the proposed system by diagnosis experiments using the faults simulator, with which test signals on abnormal states of the bearing ball and the inner race of the bearing are generated. The experiments showed that resulting diagnosis analysis are consistent with the theoretical expectations.
Game Programming of Digital Television Using OSD Middleware

Since various applications is converged in digital televisions, playing game on DTV will be available in the immediate future. Game programming of DTV is more difficult than that of PC in a viewpoint of game development. Since TV use very simple remote controller as user interface, mapping type, choice type, and one-button type are used among mobile game user interfaces. In addition, we suggest to use text class, numeral class, bitmap class, and shape class of DTV OSD middleware which is proven software, instead of developing new DTV-oriented game engine. The proposed interfaces can be applied in various game situations and allow intuitive and fast operations. By using OSD middleware, game actions can be subdivided into state structures, OSD objects can be used as game objects, and events and actions of remote controller keys are easily defined.
Implementation of Infant Learning Content using Augmented Reality

Recently as AR(Augmented Reality) is focus of attention, AR is applied to various fields and is expected its valuable use. In this paper, we implemented the system based on Goblin XNA which supports high resolution model file and higher AR. We confirmed the relation of model output among the number of marker, the location and changes of camera distance. And we produced the infantile studying contents using AR and embodied. In implemented contents, we showed the familiar character to infants on each page marker. As the result of it, we can raise their concentration and at a time studying supporters can use the contents easily as well. Also we put 3 marker on each page of contents to recognize it smoothly in case one part of it is hidden by any obstacle. Finally we maximized the learning effect such as presence and immersion in studying through reinforcing 3D models according to the every situation.
