This study designed and manufactured "a DVOR virtual signal generator" to make the monitoring system of preliminary Doppler VHF Omni-directional Radio Range(DVOR) run like its real operation status in a narrow space in order to study "a DVOR virtual monitoring system". The designed and manufactured DVOR virtual signal generator is suitable for the specification of signal that is generated in the currently running equipment. In addition, it is possible to control operation conditions of equipment by using parameter variables, and the circuit construction is largely divided into the input part, the modulation part, the high-gain amplifier, and the power part. "The DVOR virtual monitoring system using the virtual signal designed and implemented in this study is very suitable to be used for low-cost actual education as it can construct the operation status like the real situation in a narrow space without using an actual system like an antenna generating side band.
A Dual-Band Transmitter RF Front-End for IMT-Advanced system in 0.13-μm CMOS Technology

This paper has proposed a dual-band transmitter RF Front-end for IMT-Advanced systems which has been implemented in a 0.13-
CMOS technology. The proposed dual-band transmitter RF Front-End covers 2300~2700 MHz, 3300~3800 MHz frequency ranges which support 802.11, Mobile WiMAX, and IMT-Advanced system. The proposed dual-band transmitter RF Front-End consumes 45 mA from a 1.2 V supply voltage. The performances of the transmitter RF Front-End are verified through post-layout simulations. The simulation results show a +0 dBm output power at 2 GHz band, and +1.3 dBm output power at 3 GHz band.
Analysis Third-dimension Turbo Code for DVB-RCS Next Generation

The next generation wireless communication systems are required high BER performance better than present performance. Double binary Turbo code have error floor at high SNR, so it cannot be used in next generation wireless communication system. Therefore, many methods are proposed for overcome error floor at DVB-RCS NG(next generation). In this paper, we analysis structure of third-dimension Turbo code(3D-turbo code). 3D-Turbo code overcomes error flow by additive post-encoder in conventional DVB-RCS Turbo code. Performance of 3D-Turbo code is changed by post-encoder form, interleaving method, value of
. So we are simulated by those parameter and proposed optimal form. By a result, performance of 3D-Turbo is better than conventional DVB-RCS Turbo code and it overcome error floor of conventional DVB-RCS Turbo code.
Branch line directional coupler with coupled lines

Directional couplers are widely used in RF and microwave applications to distribute or monitor signals. This paper presented a new structure of microstrip branch line directional coupler with coupled lines. The loose couplings of microstrip branch line directional couplers are impractical for the high characteristic impedance values required for the shunt branches. To overcome this limitation, the parallel coupled lines with the shorts were used for the high characteristic impedance. The results of the simulations and measurements were presented for the proposed branch line directional coupler. Measurement of the 10 dB branch line directional coupler shows that the return loss is higher than 30 dB over 10 % bandwidth and the isolation is 35 dB or better over 8 % bandwidth.
Semantic Representation of Concept of Bio-signal Data

In order to acquire new information and biological meaning of the signal data by defining the relationships between them, new modeling technique, ontology, has been proposed. The data of bio-signal can be represented as a systematic and logical to manage continuously bio-signal data using ontology. Furthermore, knowledge of which resources are utilized to provide improved service quality in medical information, health services in various fields. However, relevant studies have not been performed actively to compare importance of relationships between bio-signals. Therefore semantic representation of biometric information should be by defining the relationship between bio-signals. In this paper, we have developed bio-signal ontology to use as a model for using domain knowledge. We verified the usefulness of the ontology by using scenarios.
A PDF-distance minimization algorithm for blind equalization for underwater communication channels with multipath and impulsive noise

In this paper, a blind adaptive equalization algorithm based on PDF-distance minimization and a set of Delta functions is introduced and its superior robustness against impulsive noise and multipath characteristics of underwater communication channels is proved. The conventional CMA based on MSE has shown to be incapable of coping with impulsive noise, and correntropy blind algorithm has also revealed to yield not satisfying performance for the mission. On the other hand, the blind adaptive equalization algorithm based on PDF-distance minimization and a set of Delta functions has been proved to solve effectively the problem of impulsive noise and multipath characteristics of underwater communication channels through theoretical and simulation analysis.

A new predistortion technique for dynamic spectrum allocation systems such as cognitive radio (CR) is proposed. The system model considered in this paper occupies a small band at a time, but the center frequency can be changed in the wide range of frequency. In this scenario. the front-end filter may not eliminate the harmonics of the power amplifier (PA) output. The proposed PD reduces the spectral regrowth of the fundamental signal at the carrier frequency (

Simulation results show that the spectral regrowth can be reduced by 20dB, and the 2nd and 3rd harmonics can be reduced down to -70dB from the power of the fundamental signal.
Detection algorithm for DAA using Decision Directed method in MB-OFDM

Since the MB-OFDM(Multi-Band Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is an ultra wideband communication system operated on ISM(Industrial, Scientific and Medical) band, DAA(Detect-And-Avoid) is required for co-existence with the other communication service. In this paper we propose the new detection algorithm based on decision-feedback, which shows faster convergence time and less complexity than previous works. The proposed algorithm detects interference above -20dB in AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) and LOS(Line-Of-Sight) channel, and close to AWGN in non-LOS channel under appropriate channel clipping.

Objectives of shipboard integration networks are to exchange and manage integrated information. Shipboard integration networks use UDP(User Datagram Protocol) multicast for the exchange of information. However, such information can be missed or damaged because UDP can't guarantee reliability. The standard of shipboard integration networks defines error log functions for the missed or damaged information. In this paper, we analyze internal and external log functions. The internal log function records errors internally, and the external log function sends error messages to a log server and records them in a database. We also develop a log processing module and log server for the external log function.
A Design of Sensor Framework for Low-Power Transmission in the WSN Environment based on WPAN

In the existing RF communication based WPAN environment, a lowering of battery span and interference problem among sensors occur because the value of output is set and transmitted steadily when the system on sensor is initialized. Therefore, this paper proposes a framework and a transmit method with low power which decreases the electricity consumption by properly controling transmit power of opponent by received signal strength indicator(RSSI) of each sensor. The system proposes a power-lowering method by controling transmit power properly by the transmit intensity of the connected sensor after being affected by the transmit intensity of surrounded sensor. The framework that is proposed in this paper includes data transmit module, transmit power manager module, transmit power searching module, signal transmit module, and signal receiving module.
Time-Domain Based Asynchronous IR-UWB Ranging System

This paper presents a time-domain based asynchronous IR-UWB ranging system. This system accomplishes the ranging by detecting peaks from the outputs of a correlator implemented by a FIR filter. To discriminate the peaks due to a signal component, we use windowing for the correlated data within which the data are sorted in amplitude-ascending order and the noise level is calculated. Comparing with the recently presented frequency-domain based ranging system, we show the system structure and explain how it operates for ranging. Moreover, through the simulations, the proposed system is compared with the frequency-domain based system in terms of performance.
An Iterative Side Information Refinement Based on Block-Adaptive Search in Distributed Video Coding

Recently, as one of several methods to improve the performance of DVC(Distributed Video Coding) system, many research works are focusing on the iterative refinement of side information. Most of the conventional techniques are mainly based on the relationship between the reconstruction level and side information, or the vector median filtering of motion vectors, but, their performance improvements are restricted. In order to overcome the performance limit of the conventional schemes, in this paper, a side information generation scheme is designed by measuring the block-cost estimation. Then, by adaptively selecting the compensation mode using the received bit-plane information, we propose a block-adaptive iterative refinement which is efficient for non-symmetric moving objects. Computer simulations show that, by using the proposed refinement method, the performance can be improved up to 0.2 dB in rate-distortion.
A Novel Method for Moving Object Tracking using Covariance Matrix and Riemannian Metric

This paper propose a novel method for tracking moving object based on covariance matrix and Riemannian Manifolds. With image backgrounds continuously changed, we use the covariance matrices to extract features for tracking nonrigid object undergoing transformation and deformation. The covariance matrix can make fusion of different types of features and has its small dimension, therefore we enable to handle the spatial and statistical properties as well as the component correlation. The proposed method can estimate the position of the moving object by employing the covariance matrix of object region as a feature vector and comparing the candidate regions. Rimannian Geometry is efficiently adapted to object deformation and change of shape and improve the accuracy by using geodesic distance to predict the estimated position with the minimum distance. The experimental results have shown that the proposed method correctly tracked the moving object.
A Mechanism of Medical Data Encryption Method Using Bucket Index and Bloom filter with the range property.

Recently, there are some social issues that personal sensitive data in database were let out. The best method to protect these personal sensitive data is used by the database encryption method. But the encrypting database makes the query difficult. So, there are a lot of study to protect the database and increase the query efficiency as well. In this paper, we analysed recent research trend to protect the sensitive data and propose the combined method using buckets and the bloom filter for the medical database with range property. Compared to bucket index model, the proposed method can increase bucket index value and protect data distribution exposure. We can estimate that this proposed method can improve searching time and efficiency.

This paper proposes a mechanism that guarantees secured performance against DDoS attack to protect data from free-roaming agent. Also, as it makes up QCRT(query chain relationship tree) structure which is an enhanced chain relation of existing chain relations that improves extension, It also finds malicious elements. The proposed mechanism extends chain relationship of agent as well by checking chain relation structure as a structure according to the route of agent. For it complements existing weakness with single-side chain relation extension, it guarantees secure performance against DDoS and truncation attacks from mobile agent.

The object of this paper is to make learners have study environment to study adaptively, anywhere, anyone, anytime and, just in time, not disturbed by time and place. So, it helps learners find solutions to questions and problems which they can face in the process of learning. This paper desires to find possibility of ontology which can solve problems after considering semantic web and theory of ontology by studying existing reference books. As ontology has the structure that can guess the data which is not showed clearly, so it can make the result more accurate and be the knowledge every learner sympathize and trust. I established the ontology frame about the electronic circuit which learners can solve their questions everywhere, anytime, and reconfirm what they studied, so I studied on application for e-learning based on ontology.
Design and Implementation of Update Propagation Technique for Update Spatio-Temporal Data in Mobile Environments

Various studies were performed for providing the latest spatio-temporal information in mobile GIS Environments. The two-way synchronization scheme collects updated spatio-temporal data in the field and synchronizes with a server by using the wireless network. However, the other mobile terminals have to perform periodically synchronizes with a server. In this paper, we propose the update propagation scheme about spatio-temporal data collected from the mobile terminal. The update propagation scheme does considering various factors where an influence is in the update propagation. Therefore, it provides various update propagation policies according to each factors.
Development of an Reader Framework for Transparency in RFID Reader

More recently, variety RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) readers are produced by RFID equipment manufactures. Although a transmission standard instituted by EPCglobal is proposed for data transmission between the RFID readers and tags, other RFID reader protocols and the communication connection methods are be in use in other RFID companies. To replace or add the RFID readers of an RFID system, the developers should make changes to the core of the application and/or middleware. In this paper, we propose an RFID reader framework which can manage RFID readers without having to make changes the code of the application in environment with the growing number of heterogeneous RFID readers.This framework that sits on the layer between the RFID readers and the applications provides transparency to the RFID readers. Additionally, it can be used for monitoring the state and the property of all connected RFID, and for recording the RFID tag event logs and system logs. By using this framework, heterogeneous readers can be replaced and added without writing additional code in the applications. Consequently the readers can be easily managed and controlled by the RFID system administrator.
Modelling of the noise-added saturated steam table using neural networks

The thermodynamic properties of steam table are obtained by measurement or approximate calculation under appropriate assumptions. Therefore they are supposed to have basic measurement errors. And thermodynamic properties should be modeled through function approximation for using in numerical analysis. In order to make noised thermodynamic properties corresponding to measurement errors, random numbers are generated, adjusted to appropriate magnitudes and added to original thermodynamic properties. Both neural networks and quadratic spline interpolation method are introduced for function approximation of these modified thermodynamic properties in the saturated water based on pressure and temperature. In analysis spline interpolation method gives much less relative errors than neural networks at both ends of data. Excluding the both ends of data, the relative errors of neural networks is generally within
and those of spline interpolation method within
~1.5%. This means that the neural networks give smaller relative errors compared with quadratic spline interpolation method within range of use. From this fact it was confirmed that the neural networks trace the original values better than the quadratic interpolation method and neural networks are more appropriate method in modelling the saturated steam table.
The Implementation of the system-on-board controllable the electrical fires due to ground fault, arc fault and overload

The system-on-board detectable and controllable the electrical fires due to ground fault(GF), arc fault and overload is implemented. The system IC for controlling and preventing the electrical fires is available to this system. The GF detection circuit for detecting the electrical leakage current, the arc fault detection circuit and the overload detection circuit controllable the input voltage for flowing the overload current are designed. The GF detection circuit and the arc fault detection circuit are good operated to the electrical leakage current and the arc signal, respectively. It is confirmed that the overload detection circuit has shown no erratic operation with the noise or the load variation and is only operated at the overload condition.
Harmonic Reduction of Electric Propulsion Ship by Multipulse Drive

The harmonic distortion level may be significant in electric propulsion systems, as the main loads usually are variable speed propulsion/thruster drives. Distortion of currents and supply voltage waveforms may lead to: Increased power dissipation(losses) in equipment connected to the network, such as generators, motors, transformers, cables, etc., from the harmonic currents, may cause overheating and deterioration of the insulation, and reduced life time of the equipment. In this paper introduced the canceling method of harmonic currents by a multipulse drive with phase shifting transformer. The simulation results indicated a good speed response to the middle speed range of electric propulsion motor. And also, THD(total harmonic distortion) and torque ripple could be reduced in comparing the 12-pulse drive with 6-pulse drive.
An analysis of Optimal Design Conditions of Multi-mode LDPC Decoder for IEEE 802.11n WLAN System

This paper describes an analysis of optimal design conditions of multi-mode LDPC(low density parity check) decoder which supports three block lengths (648, 1296, 1944) and four code rates (1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6) for IEEE 802.11n WLAN system. A fixed-point model of LDPC decoder, which adopts min-sum algorithm and layered decoding scheme, is implemented using Matlab. From fixed-point simulation results for various bit-width parameters such as internal bit-width, integer/fractional part bit-widths, optimal design conditions and decoding performance of LDPC decoder are analyzed.
VLSI Architecture of High Performance Huffman Codec

In this paper, we proposed and implemented a dedicated hardware for Huffman coding which is a method of entropy coding to use compressing multimedia data with video coding. The proposed Huffman codec consists Huffman encoder and decoder. The Huffman encoder converts symbols to Huffman codes using look-up table. The Huffman code which has a variable length is packetized to a data format with 32 bits in data packeting block and then sequentially output in unit of a frame. The Huffman decoder converts serial bitstream to original symbols without buffering using FSM(finite state machine) which has a tree structure. The proposed hardware has a flexible operational property to program encoding and decoding hardware, so it can operate various Huffman coding. The implemented hardware was implemented in Cyclone III FPGA of Altera Inc., and it uses 3725 LUTs in the operational frequency of 365MHz
Adaptive Subtraction Method for Removing Variable Powerline Interference of ECG

Power-line interference(PLI) can distort certain regions in analysing the ECG signal. In particular, the regions such as P and R wave that are important element in diagnosing with arrhythmia is expressed as different type of noise according to the case whether power-line frequency is multiples of sampling frequency and or not. Noise characteristics is also divided into linearity and non-linearity. In this paper, adaptive subtraction method for removing variable PLI of ECG signal is proposed. We classify the multiple relationship between power line and sampling frequency as Multiple and Non-multiple. PLI of Linear segment is extracted through moving average filter, PLI of non-linear segment is extracted through the interference component that is extracted in the linear segment and stored in the temporary buffer. The performance of P wave and R wave detection is evaluated by using 119 data record of MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The achieved scores indicate P wave detection rate of 97.91%, R wave detection rate of 96.66% and P wave detection rate of 99.01%, R wave detection rate of 97.93% accuracy respectively for Notch filter and proposed subtraction method.
Block Matching Algorithm Using an Adaptive Matching Block for Object Tracking

In object tracking using the block mating algorithm, it is not proper to use a fixed matching block to track an object of which size may be various and can be changed at any time. This paper defines an adaptive matching block for the dynamic environment and proposes a block matching algorithm for it. The matching block is composed of a main-block of
pixels and 8 sub-blocks of
pixels in a wide area of
pixels, the main-block located its center is used as an object block, and the sub-blocks located its boundary are used as candidates for the object block. The proposed algorithm extracts the object blocks from the sub-blocks by using their motion vectors for 10 previous frames and performs the block matching with the main block and them. The experiments for perform estimation show that the proposed algorithm extracts just valid object blocks from the matching block and keeps an object having free movement in image center area.
An Experimental Study on Hindrance Factors of Usability of Menu Structure in ARS

ARS (Automatic Response Systems) based on VUI (Voice User Interface) and TTI (Touch Tone Interface) are one of the most widely used communication systems. Despite common usages, however, inconvenience of ARS is continually pointed out. This may stem from lack of human-centered studies aside from technological development. In this paper, we provide guidelines for designing ARS by analyzing hindrance factors of usability of ARS menu structure. We had selected two call-centers using ARS, and carried out an experimental study where subjects performed the task of "returning books." After that, they completed questionnaires and interviews. We identified four problems: the complex menu structure, lack of representativeness on the menu name, users' awareness of location, and a difficulty to move among menus. And we partially discussed the ways of avoiding the problems.
Utilizing animation contents for e-learning performance enhancement: focus on private information security

As information and communication technologies (ICTs) has been developed, it is getting more important for internet users to consider many security issues (e.g., privacy protection). In this paper we claims that animation contents make a positive influence on teaching such computer securities, and investigate what features of animation contents will be the most important relationships with performance of the teaching process. Once we have obtained the survey results from students, two main features (i.e., characters and plots) of the animation contents have positively influenced the performance of e-learning systems.
Design and Implementation of a Korean Language Educational Content for Foreign Beginners Using Based on Android

These days, smart phones are being widely used and accordingly, a larger number of consumers have become interested in them, thus many applications are being developed with a variety of forms. There are various fields in it, such as multimedia, games, information and education, as per users' disposition and characteristics. As for the current contents for language education in mobile environment, the market is dominated by contents for learning foreign language such as English, Japanese and Chinese, while contents for educating Korean language are minuscule. In this paper, thus, we design and implement a elementary Korean language educational contents for foreign beginners who can use the contents at their smart phones with Android OS.
KKR code conversion based on ontology

KISA announced KKR code system observing the international standard, ISO/IEC 15459, in order to activate the domestic RFID industry and improve mutual operation among RFID services. In this paper, we propose the way on code conversion based on ontology methods so as to effectively convert various types of RFID KKR code data collected from RFID reader into URN code in the middleware based on the ALE standard spec of EPC global. The results of experiment show that various types of RFID KKR code data could be converted into URN codes successfully. This means that even though new types of KKR code are added, it can be extended easily by adding ontology information without rebuilding the middleware.
Design of WSN based Field Server for Local Weather Monitoring

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of disaster victims locally due to climate change and a variety of frequently occurring natural disasters. The damage caused by abrupt weather change in local area by typical weather forecasting techniques is very limited and difficult. Recently local area weather monitoring system using wireless sensor network technology has been very actively studied. Thus an IEEE 802.15.4-based weather field server to measure and monitor the local weather changes was designed and developed in this study. The proposed weather field server utilizes a wireless sensor node and weather sensors to collect weather information such as temperature, humidity, illumination, dew point, barometric pressure, and water level. The integrated weather sensor board was designed to respond quickly to weather changes, and provide feedback to the server PC. Each weather information is analyzed in the server PC to establish a program to monitor and analyze the local area or the area of abrupt climate change in order to provide warning signals in case of disaster events in local.
