Consideration of CTS using Efficient Buffer Insertion for SoC in Multiple Clock Domain

In this paper, we consider a clock tree synthesis technique (CTS) based on buffer insertion method in the multiple clock domain. We propose some detail techniques about the preparing items and the practical method for implementing CTS. We also propose a post processing after CTS implementation. Until now, the buffer insertion-based CTS technique has been widely used, and this paper discusses especially it's practical technique to be applied in the commercial fields to develop ASIC and SoC. CTS is very dependent on the used tool. We use Astro of Synopsys and propose the empirical and theoretical information of the detail techniques for implementing CTS using this tool. We expect that the proposed technique becomes to be good guidelines to backend designers.
An Implementation of Expression System and Model for Automatic Creation of Flooding Area in the river

The goal of this paper is to calculate flood elevation by applying temporal distribution of rainfall through HEC-RAS(Hydrologic Engineering Center's River Analysis System) and to automatically create areas of flooding by a user-defined spatial model based on GIS using calculated values of flood elevation and detailed data of topography. Accuracy of topographic data is the most important factor because of deeply changing analysis results of flooding areas of a river. Therefore, this paper suggests a method of attributive and spatial data construction based on the GIS using UIS(Urban Information System, river-related reports, and hydrologic information. Also, we implement an expression system to provide analysis results extracted from the proposed model.

A coaxial-cable impedance transformer that can be used in high power and wideband frequency range is an arbitrary impedance transformation ratio by an additional coaxial cable. The coaxial-cable impedance transformer to be 50-
impedance transformation ratio is easily operated an wideband power divider by connecting two 50-
lines at 25-
impedance point. This wideband power divider has a poor output matching characteristic and a poor isolation characteristic between two output ports. In this paper, it proposes a coaxial-cable power divider to be a good output matching and isolation characteristics as it uses the singly terminated filter design theory. The odd-mode operation characteristic of the suggested power divider to use singly terminated low pass filter coefficient due to matching order and ripple value is examined by ADS program. And, it fabricates and measures the operation characteristic of 2-way power divider with 2nd-order and 4th-order matching circuit.

In this paper, The method to improve the mass production method of the radar sensor is suggested by using the temperature compensation circuit which is composed with the thermister. The mass production became easier by decreasing the adjustment time for the exact oscillation frequency with the temperature compensation circuit that can support the proper gate bias voltage for the FET after the dielectric resonator is removed from the DRO(Dielectric Resonator Oscillator) of the radar sensor. Radar sensor with the proposed method has 15.67MHz oscillator frequency variation in the temperature range of

Logical Interface based HNP Change Scheme for Flow Mobility in PMIPv6 Domains

Recently, wireless multi-networking technology has been studied for supporting multi-interface in mobile node. As the related work, in the IETF NetExt WG, the extension of Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol for supporting flow mobility is actively on going in discussion. PMIPv6 protocol supports simultaneous access through the multi-interface in a mobile node and inter-technology handover between multiple interfaces. However, this protocol can not support flow mobility. Thus, in this paper, when a mobile node connects to PMIPv6 domain through multi-interface, as a way to support flow mobility, the design of logical interface and Home Network Prefix change scheme based on logical interface are proposed, We show that the proposed scheme can perform flow mobility service without end-to-end disconnection in PMIPv6 domain.

Deviating from the exclusive frequency assignment, UWB has utilized much wider frequency range, worked independently without interfering other frequencies, and simultaneously enabled to increase more than hundreds of Mbps data transmission rate. In considering its high data rate and no interference, UWB certainly has an infinite and technical potential. In this paper, we studied the UWB technology as well as its technological trend, analyzed UWB antenna, and actualized a small antenna for wireless video streaming devices.
Relay Transmission Protocol for QoS Enhancement in WiMedia Distributed MAC/WUSB Systems

The WiMedia Alliance has specified a Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC) protocol based on UWB for high speed wireless home networks and Wireless USB. In this paper, firstly, the fair SoQ-based Distributed Reservation Protocol (DRP) for D-MAC is analyzed. And a novel SoQ-based relay transmission protocol is proposed to overcome DRP conflicts fast. In the proposed protocol, each device executes the Satisfaction of QoS (SoQ) time slot allocation algorithm independently. And, in order to give the loser device due to DRP conflicts another chance to maintain QoS resources, the proposed relay transmission protocol helps the device reserve another indirect link maintaining the required QoS resources via a relay node.

The concept of
-shortest disjoint paths is considered important because the establishment of primary and backup forwarding paths exploiting shorter distance and faster propagation time is a dominant consideration for the design of a survivable backbone network. Therefore, we need to evaluate how well the concept of
-shortest disjoint paths is exploited for the design of a survivable ship backbone network considering the international standard related to ship backbone networks, the IEC61162-410 standard specifying how to manage redundant message transmissions among ship devices. Performance evaluations are conducted in terms of following objective goals: link capacity, hop and distance of primary and backup paths, even distribution of traffic flows, restoration time of backup forwarding paths, and physical network topology connectivity.
Bus Architecture Analysis for Hardware Implementation of Computer Generated Hologram

Recently, holography has received much attention as the next generation visual technology. Hologram is obtained by the optical capturing, but in recent years it is mainly produced by the method using computer. This method is named by computer generated hologram (CGH). Since CGH requires huge computational amount, if it is implemented by S/W it can't work in real time. Therefore it should use FPGA or GPU for real time operation. If it is implemented in the type of H/W, it can't obtain the same quality as S/W due to the bit limitation of the internal system. In this paper, we analyze the bit width for minimizing the degradation of the hologram and reducing more hardware resources and propose guidelines for H/W implementation of CGH. To do this, we performs fixed-points simulations according to main internal variables and arithmetics, analyze the numerical and visual results, and present the optimal bit width according to application fields.
Sensitivity Lighting System Based on multimodal

In this paper, human sensibility is measured on multi-modal environment and a sensitivity lighting system is implemented according to driven emotional indexes. We use LED lighting because it supports ecological circumstance, high efficiency, and long lifetime. In particular, the LED lighting provides various color schemes even in single lighting bulb. To cognize the human sensibility, we use the image information and the arousal state information, which are composed of multi-modal basis and calculates emotional indexes. In experiments, as the LED lighting color vision varies according to users' emotional index, we show that it provides human friendly lighting system compared to the existing systems.

PN(Pseudo Noise) sequences play an important role in wireless communications, such as in a CDMA(code division multiple access) communication system. If there is a crash when multiple users simultaneously connected to a system, then PN sequences with low correlation help to minimize multiple access interference in such communication system. Recently VoIP has provided voice(both wired and wireless from IP-based) as well as the transmission of multimedia information. VoIP used All-IP type, Gateway type, mVoIP etc. Wired and wireless VoIP has security vulnerabilities that VoIP call control signals, illegal eavesdropping, service misuse attacks, denial of service attack, as well as wireless vulnerabilities etc. from WiFi Zone. Therefore, the analysis of security vulnerabilities in wired and wireless VoIP and hacking incidents on security measures for research and study is needed. In this paper, VoIP (All-IP type, and for Gateway type) for system and network scanning, and, IP Phone to get the information and analysis of the vulnerability. All-IP type and Gateway type discovered about the vulnerability of VoIP hacking attacks (Denial of Service attacks, VoIP spam attacks) is carried out. And that is a real VoIP system installed and operated in the field of security measures through research and analysis is proposed.

Especially, most institutions are using disaster information system based on GIS such as electronic disaster map. However, most previous systems have vulnerability when connecting to the another systems because systems consider only specific area and system is independent data structure. Above all things, existing have to put a lot of time and effort because system need direct work course for service. A Design and Implementation of Virtual Grid for Reducing Frequency of Continuous Query on LBSNS

SNS(Social Networking Services) is oneline service that enable users to construct human network through their relation on web, such as following relation, friend relation, and etc. Recently, owing to the advent of digital devices (smart phone, tablet PC) which embedded GPS some applications which provide services with spatial relevance and social relevance have been released. Such an online service is called LBSNS. It is required to use spatial filtering so as to build the LBSNS system that enable users to subscribe information of interesting area. For spatial filtering, user and tweet attaches location information which divide into static property presenting fixed area and dynamic property presenting user's area changed along the moving user. In the case of using a location information including dynamic property, Continuous query occurred from the moving user causes the problem in server. In this paper, we propose spatial filtering algorithm using Virtual Grid for reducing frequency of query, and conclude that frequency of query on using Virtual Grid is 93% decreased than frequency of query on not using Virtual Grid.
Formation and Properties of Electroplating Copper Pillar Tin Bump

Copper Pillar Tin Bump (CPTB) was investigated for high density chip interconnect technology development, which was prepared by electroplating and electro-less plating methods. Copper pillar tin bumps that have
pitch were introduced with fabrication process using a KM-1250 dry film photoresist (DFR), with copper electroplating for Copper Pillar Bump (CPB) formation firstly, and then tin electro-less plating on it for control oxidation. Electric resistivity and mechanical shear strength measurements were introduced to characterize the oxidation effects and bonding process as a function of thermo-compression. Electrical resistivity increased with increasing oxidation thickness, and shear strength had maximum value with
and 500 N at thermo-compression process. Through the simulation work, it was proved that the CPTB decreased in its size of conduction area as time passes, however it was largely affected by the copper oxidation.
Effective hardware design for DCT-based Intra prediction encoder

In this paper, we proposed an effective hardware structure using DCT-based inra-prediction mode selection to reduce computational complexity caused by intra mode decision. In this hardware structure, the input block is transformed at first and then analyzed to determine its texture directional tendency. the complexity has solved by performing intra prediction in only predicted edge direction.
DCT is calculated in one cycle using Multitransform_PE and Inta_pred_PE calculates one prediction mode in two cycles. Experimental results show that the proposed Intra prediction encoding needs only 517 cycles for one macroblock encoding. This architecture improves the performance by about 17% than previous designs. For hardware implementation, the proposed intra prediction encoder is implemented using Verilog HDL and synthesized with Megnachip
standard cell library. The synthesis results show that the proposed architecture can run at 125MHz.
The Hardware Design of CABAC for High Performance H.264 Encoder

This paper proposes a binary arithmetic encoder of CABAC using a Common Operation Unit including the three modes. The binary arithmetic encoder performing arithmetic encoding and renormalizer can be simply implemented into a hardware architecture since the COU is used regardless of the modes. The proposed binary arithmetic encoder of CABAC includes Context RAM, Context Updater, Common Operation Unit and Bit-Gen. The architecture consists of 4-stage pipeline operating one symbol for each clock cycle. The area of proposed binary arithmetic encoder of CABAC is reduced up to 47%, the performance of proposed binary arithmetic encoder of CABAC is 19% higher than the previous architecture.
Design of Encryption/Decryption Core for Block Cipher HIGHT

A symmetric block cryptosystem uses an identical cryptographic key at encryption and decryption processes. HIGHT cipher algorithm is 64-bit block cryptographic technology for mobile device that was authorized as international standard by ISO/IEC on 2010. In this paper, block cipher HIGHT algorithm is designed using Verilog-HDL. Four modes of operation for block cipher such as ECB, CBC, OFB and CTR are supported. When continuous message blocks of fixed size are encrypted or decrypted, the desigend HIGHT core can process a 64-bit message block in every 34-clock cycle. The cryptographic processor designed in this paper operates at 144MHz on vertex chip of Xilinx, Inc. and the maximum throughput is 271Mbps. The designed cryptographic processor is applicable to security module of the areas such as PDA, smart card, internet banking and satellite broadcasting.
Current-Voltage Characteristics with Substrate Bias in Nanowire Junctionless MuGFET

In this paper, a current-voltage characteristics of n-channel junctionless and inversion mode(IM) MuGFET, and p-channel junctionless and accumulation mode(AM) MuGFET has been measured and analyzed for the application in high speed and low power switching devices. From the variation of the threshold voltage and the saturation drain current with the substrate bias voltages, their variations in IM devices are larger than junctionless devices for n-channel devices, but their variations in junctioness devices are larger than AM devices for p-channel devices. The variations of transconductance with substrate biases are more significant in p-channel devices than n-channel devices. From the characteristics of subthreshold swing, it was observed that the S value is almost independent on the substrate biases in n-channel devices and p-channel junctionless devices but it is increased with the increase of the substrate biases in p-channel AM devices. For the application in high speed and low power switching devices using the substrate biases, IM device is better than junctionless devices for n-channel devices and junctionless device is better than AM devices for p-channel devices.
Dependence of Subthreshold Current for Channel Structure and Doping Distribution of Double Gate MOSFET

In this paper, dependence of subthreshold current has been analyzed for doping distribution and channel structure of double gate(DG) MOSFET. The charge distribution of Gaussian function validated in previous researches has been used to obtain potential distribution in Poisson equation. Since DGMOSFETs have reduced short channel effects with improvement of current controllability by gate voltages, subthreshold characteristics have been enhanced. The control of current in subthreshold region is very important factor related with power consumption for ultra large scaled integration. The deviation of threshold voltage has been qualitatively analyzed using the changes of subthreshold current for gate voltages. Subthreshold current has been influenced by doping distribution and channel dimension. In this study, the influence of channel length and thickness on current has been analyzed according to intensity and distribution of doping.

Movement of Conduction Path for Electron Distribution in Channel of Double Gate MOSFET

In this paper, movement of conduction path has been analyzed for electron distribution in the channel of double gate(DG) MOSFET. The analytical potential distribution model of Poisson equation, validated in previous researches, has been used to analyze transport characteristics. DGMOSFETs have the adventage to be able to reduce short channel effects due to improvement for controllability of current by two gate voltages. Since short channel effects have been occurred in subthreshold region including threshold region, the analysis of transport characteristics in subthreshold region is very important. Also transport characteristics have been influenced on the deviation of electron distribution and conduction path. In this study, the influence of electron distribution on conduction path has been analyzed according to intensity and distribution of doping and channel dimension.
Multiple Pedestrians Tracking using Histogram of Oriented Gradient and Occlusion Detection

In this paper, multiple pedestrians tracking system using Histogram of Oriented Gradient and occlusion detection is proposed. The proposed system is applicable to Intelligent Surveillance System. First, we detect pedestrian in a image sequence using pedestrian's feature. To get pedestrian's feature, we make block-histogram using gradient's direction histogram based on HOG(Histogram of Oriented Gradient), after that a pedestrian region is classified by using Linear-SVM(Support Vector Machine) training. Next, moving objects are tracked by using position information of the classified pedestrians. And we create motion trajectory descriptor which is used for content based event retrieval. The experimental results show that the proposed method is more fast, accurate and effective than conventional methods.
Interchannel RF Power Fluctuation in WDM-RoF System Employing Photonic Crystal Fiber

In this paper, we report that the differences between RF power levels can be improved in wavelength division multiplexing - radio over fiber (WDM-RoF) system by using a photonic crystal fiber. In a WDM-RoF system, each WDM channel experiences different received RF power level fluctuation in remote node (RN) because of wavelength-dependent dispersion. Since each WDM channel experiences different power fluctuation, the RF power fluctuation acts as a design constraint in viewpoint of network design. We designed a photonic crystal fiber to improve the effect of wavelength- dependent dispersion on RF power fluctuation. Also, we analyzed the wavelength-dependent difference of inter-channel RF power fluctuations.

This paper is about the system to process XML-based EDI e-document. This system does not use the script file when translating EDI e-document into the XML-based EDI-document. We design and implement the scanner and mapper which are the e-document processors with binary format used when reading and writing the documents. Also, we design and implement the mapping tools that graphically define the translation rules among e-documents. Therefore, the proposed XML-based EDI e-document processing system has characteristics advantages of XML and more benefits than the previous EDI e-document processing system such as faster speed, convenience, and better adaptability. Due to these advantages, this system will be widely used as the B2B gateway system.

Operating Systems is a discipline which handles abstract concepts and techniques. However, most of OS courses have been textbook-oriented theoretical classes. Theoretical classes lead to the decline in the understanding of a lecture, and hurt their concentration. Many instructors have tried to make use of educational tools to help students understand lectures and arouse interests. This paper describes the design and implementation of a CPU scheduling simulator which shows the operation of process scheduling algorithms visually. The academic achievement evaluation for 2010's students and 2011's and t-test results show that the differences of the correct answer ratio for the exam about CPU scheduling algorithms are meaningful. The survey shows that the simulator is useful as an educational tool which causes the interests and enhances the understanding of a lecture, this teaching method is effective to develop problem solving skills.

We analyzed the relationship based on the complex system between engineering writing in accreditation program and engineering education accreditation system and studied an effective engineering writing education system for engineering education in this paper. By introducing accreditation system, the engineering education system keeps continuously an emergent behavior and builds the new system. In this point of view, this research proposed an situated learning system and introduction of writing portfolio. As a result, we ascertain this proposed way makes up writing skill of students. We think this discussion will be a chance to explore a new writing education system in engineering education.
Comparative analysis for advanced technologies of the location based service

The location based service is divided into GPS that uses the artificial satellite or base transceiver station in order to cover the wide area and RTLS(Real Time Location System) using the Zigbee, RFID, CSS(Chirp Spread Spectrum), UWB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi equipment in the space(close range) limited like the building inside or park. Moreover it also repeats the technical development upon through the acceleration of the development of the wire and wireless infrastructure and determination technology, the development of the Internet, diversification of the contents, and etc. As a result, it is expected to develop around the determination technology, witch is common core technology element, contents technology, Internet and mobile communication technology, and etc. afterward. In this research, the direction we investigate was to find and analyze new technology and standardization trend of LBS in order to contribute to the related industry.
Development of Arm Motion Sensing System Using Potentiometer for Robot Arm Control

In this paper, an arm motion sensing system using potentiometer is developed. Most motion sensing systems use optical method for the quality of motion data. The optical method needs much cost for manufacturing capture system and takes much time for correcting the captured data. And mechanical method entails relativity low cost, but it uses the wires and takes much time for correcting the data like the optical method. For solving the problems, in this paper, an arm motion sensing system is newly developed using low cost potentiometer and based on the suggested simple calculation method for the joint angles and the angular velocities. For the verification of the performance of the developed system, practical experiments were executed using real human arm motion and a robot arm. The experimental results showed that the motion of the robot arm controlled by the output of the developed motion sensing system is much similar with the motion of human arm.
