In this paper, a DVB-T2(Digital Video Broadcasting-the 2nd Generation Terrestrial) receiver is designed under a USB-type windows environment, and the baseband frames for MPEG2-TS stream(File or Ethernet Modes) are analyzed for verifying the receiver. In addition, the performance of the BICM(Bit Interleaved Coding & Modulation) module in the receiver is analyzed in terms of PLP(Physical Layer Pipe) and L1(Layer 1) signals.
RF Oscillator Improved Characteristics of Phase Noise Using Ring type DGS

In this paper, a novel resonator using ring type DGS is proposed for improvement of phase noise characteristics that is weak point of oscillator using planar type microstrip line resonator, and oscillator for 5.8GHz band is designed using proposed DGS resonator. The ring type DGS resonator is composed of DGS cell etched on ground plane under
microstrip line. At the fundamental frequency of 5.8GHz, 7.6dBm output power and -82.7 dBc@100kHz phase noise have been measured for oscillator with ring type DGS resonator. The phase noise characteristics of oscillator is improved about 9.5dB compared to one using the general
microstrip resonator. Because it is possible that varactor diode or lumped capacitor is placed on the gaps of ring type DGS, resonant frequency can be controlled by bias voltage. We can design voltage controlled oscillator using proposed ring type DGS resonator. Thus, due to its simple fabrication process and planar type, it is expected that the technique in this paper can be widely used for low phase noise oscillators for both MIC and MMIC applications.
Analysis on Co-use Parameter in TV Band Using a Transmisssion Probability Concept of Interfering Transmitter

Analysis on co-use parameters in TV frequency channels is essential to utilize a TV White Space(TVWS) efficiently. A transmission probability of interfering transmitter can be used as some criteria for performance evaluation of the systems that co-use the cochannels. We considered a duty cycle as a parameter for getting the method how heterogeneous systems can use simultaneously a co-channel in TVWS. We analyze the transmission probability of interfering transmitter with an assumption that the probability is the same as the duty cycle, a time that it spends in an active state as a fraction of the total under consideration. In order to make an analysis of relationship between duty cycle and performances of two systems. We take into consideration on the case that WLAN is an victim receiver and WiBro is a interfering transmitter. Analyzed coexistence results may be widely applied into the technique developed to get the coexisting condition for wireless devices using many communication protocols in same frequency.
Intelligent Traffic Light Control using Fuzzy Method

In this paper, we propose an intelligent signal control method based on fuzzy logic applicable in real time. We design membership functions to model occupied time and the number of vehicles for each lane. A priority for each signal phase is computed by the popular Max-Min fuzzy inference based on control rules and membership degrees of prepared two functions at any given time. A tie breaking scheme is considering weighted sum of the rate of occupied time per number of vehicles in that block and the standard deviation of these blocks. Only a signal phase with the highest priority is opened and all others are closed and the duration of the phase opening is computed proportional to the rate of number of weighting vehicles in that signal per all weighted vehicles. The simulation result shows that the proposed method is more efficient than the static control in all simulation conditions in
experimental designs with the number of vehicles in intersection and congestion degrees that have all three levels.
Numerical Analysis for Modeling of Sound Absorbing Medium using Transmission Line Matrix Modeling

We introduced an approach of modeling of a sound absorbing medium that had different absorbing coefficient according to frequency. To obtain the time domain result of the frequency characteristics of a sound absorbing medium, transmission line matrix modeling was used. To input sound absorbing effect in TLM modeling, we added a FIR filter at a node instead of absorbing component using resistance component. There were simulated the characteristics of time-shift, low pass filter, high pass filter using the FIR filter with 7-tap coefficients, then compared with theoretical results. From various simulation results, we could find that added FIR filter coefficient in TLM modeling was an useful way to model a sound absorbing medium.
Cognitive Radio Channel Allocation using the Proportional Fair Scheduling

Cognitive radio technology enables us to utilize the extra spectrum which is not used by the primary users by sensing the channel condition. To use such an extra spectrum, spectrum allocation is one of the important issues in the cognitive radio networks. The network is dynamic and the available channels are changeable, and the opportunistic channel allocation is required to use the resource efficiently without interference to the primary networks. In this paper, modified proportional fairness scheduling is proposed for cognitive radio networks to satisfy the both fairness and system throughput, and the modified scheduling was designed to reduce the interference to the primary users.

For network is growing at a rapid rate, network environment is more complex. The technology of using network traffic to monitor our network in real-time is developed. Cacti is a representative monitoring tool which based on RRDTool(Round Robin Database tool), SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol). In this paper, it show you how to develop a system which based on Cacti and Libpcap to monitor our monitored objects. At this system, using Libpcap to capture network traffic packets, analyze these packets and then turn out in Cacti in graphical form. So as to achieve monitoring system. This system's execution is efficient and the management is easy and the results are accurate, so it can be widely utilized in the future.
An Efficient Hybrid Anti-collision Method in RFID systems

If multiple Tags in the RFID System transmit their IDs to the Reader at the same time, tag identification time is delayed due to collisions. Therefore, to reduce the reader's identification time, an efficient anti-collision technology is needed. In this paper, we propose a hybrid anti-collision method based on the QT and DFSA. Then, the performances of proposed method are compared with the existing method through extensive simulations.

A Robust TDMA Frame Structure and Initial Synchronization in Satellite Communication

A TDMA system in satellite communication has been utilized. Especially DVB-S2 was standardized and now operated in satellite broadcasting system. In this paper, we propose a TDMA frame structure appropriate for special purpose which has the good reliablilty in a poor RF environment even if frequency efficiency is decreased. TDMA frame duration is 12 seconds which is long duration in comparison with general TDMA system with several ms. Designing the frame structure, time and frequency shift in single frame duration are considered. Simulation results show that the proposed frame structure and synchronization method has robust synchronization performance when the terminal is even in low SNR as well as 25 kHz frequency offsets.
Generation of an eye-contacted view using color and depth cameras

Generally, a camera isn't located at the center of display in a tele-presence system and it causes an incorrect eye contact between speakers which reduce the realistic feeling during the conversation. To solve this incorrect eye contact problem, we newly propose an intermediate view reconstruction algorithm using both a color camera and a depth camera and applying for the depth image based rendering (DIBR) algorithm. In the proposed algorithm, an efficient hole filling method using the arithmetic mean value of neighbor pixels and an efficient boundary noise removal method by expanding the edge region of depth image are included. We show that the generated eye-contacted image has good quality through experiments.

Recently, Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) that is broadly applied as next generation display has various advantages. However, OLED display causes unbalanced color tone due to the difference of luminance efficiency among luminous elements. In this paper, we propose adaptive color shifter (ACS) to resolve the RGB channel unbalance and to have wide color range of a relatively weak channel using the image processing method. proposed ACS system was simulated using a variety of image. Also, we numerically analyzed using hue histogram, CIE-1931 xyz color space.
A New Watermarking Algorithm for Copyright Protection of Stereoscopic Image

In this paper, we propose a new watermarking technique for copyright protection of stereo image. The proposed technique embeds watermark to the region which corresponds to occlusion of the disparity map to be extracted by the proposed stereo matching and the frequency coefficient with the appropriate value. We use discrete wavelet transform for frequency transform tool. The proposed algorithm consists of stereo matching, watermark rearrange, mark space selection, and watermark embedding/extracting. We tested the experiment about 4 stereo images which are from Middlebury site. We embedded the watermark to 4 stereo images and extracted it from the images after attacks. We also visually analyzed the watermark embedding images in 3D TV environment.
Effects of LDPCA Frame Size for Parity Bit Estimation Methods in Fast Distributed Video Decoding Scheme

DVC (Distributed Video Coding) technique plays an essential role in providing low-complexity video encoder. But, in order to achieve the better rate-distortion performances, most DVC systems need feedback channel for parity bit control. This causes the DVC-based system to have high decoding latency and becomes as one of the most critical problems to overcome for a real implementation. In order to overcome this problem and to accelerate the commercialization of the DVC applications, this paper analyzes an effect of LDPCA frame size for adaptive LDPCA frame-based parity bit request estimations. First, this paper presents the LDPCA segmentation method in pixel-domain and explains the temporal-based bit request estimation method and the spatial-based bit request estimation method using the statistical characteristics between adjacent LDPCA frames. Through computer simulations, it is shown that the better performance and fast decoding is observed specially when the LDPCA frame size is 3168 in QCIF resolution.
Computing Method of Cross-Correlation of Non-Linear Sequences Using Subfield

Spreading sequence play an important role in wireless communications, such as in a CDMA(code division multiple access) communication system and multi-carrier spectrum communication system. Spreading sequences with low cross-correlation, in a direct-sequence spread spectrum communication system, help to minimize multiple access interference and to increase security degree of system. Analysis of cross-correlations between the sequences is a necessary process to design sequences. However it require lots of computing time for analysis of cross-correlations between sequences. In this paper we propose a method which is possible to compute effectively cross-correlation using subfield in the process of practical computation of cross-correlation between nonlinear binary sequences.
Driving Vehicle Detection and Distance Estimation using Vehicle Shadow

Recently, the warning system to aid drivers for safe driving is being developed. The system estimates the distance between the driver's car and the car before it and informs him of safety distance. In this paper, we designed and implemented the collision warning system which detects the car in front on the actual road situation and measures the distance between the cars in order to detect the risk situation for collision and inform the driver of the risk of collision. First of all, using the forward-looking camera, it extracts the interest area corresponding to the road and the cars from the image photographed from the road. From the interest area, it extracts the object of the car in front through the analysis on the critical value of the shadow of the car in front and then alerts the driver about the risk of collision by calculating the distance from the car in front. Based on the results of detecting driving cars and measuring the distance between cars, the collision warning system was designed and realized. According to the result of applying it in the actual road situation and testing it, it showed very high accuracy; thus, it has been verified that it can cope with safe driving.
Secure Data Transaction Protocol for Privacy Protection in Smart Grid Environment

Recently, it has been found that it is important to use a smart grid to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions worldwide. A smart grid is a digitally enabled electrical grid that gathers, distributes, and acts on information regarding the behavior of all participants (suppliers and consumers) to improve the efficiency, importance, reliability, economics, and sustainability of electricity services. The smart grid technology uses two-way communication, where users can monitor and limit the electricity consumption of their home appliances in real time. Likewise, power companies can monitor and limit the electricity consumption of home appliances for stabilization of the electricity supply. However, if information regarding the measured electricity consumption of a user is leaked, serious privacy issues may arise, as such information may be used as a source of data mining of the electricity consumption patterns or life cycles of home residents. In this paper, we propose a data transaction protocol for privacy protection in a smart grid. In addition, a power company cannot decrypt an encrypted home appliance ID without the user's password.
Design and Implementation of the Mobile Aptitude Test System for Vocational Assessment of People with Disabilities

Vocational rehabilitation is defined as a process which helps people with disabilities to maintain life of non-disabled people and vocational assessment is a part of it. Traditionally, vocational assessment is performed through using of assessment tools or vocational counseling, but assessment tools are very expensive and we should move to the facilities for the disabled. It is very efficient to apply vocational assessment to people with disabilities using the smart phones which users are expected to surpass thirty million in 2012, because it enables them to access anytime and anywhere. In this paper, we design and implement the mobile aptitude test system on android smart phone OS for people with disabilities. We develop the mobile aptitude test system using the Holland Test which is the assessment tool of career guidance and counseling.

Information of social relationship of users on online is useful information for other services such as recommend information of commercial activity. So, there is a lot of studies analysis with connection to visualization of social network. Most of the previous works of visualization focus on representing user's relationship on social network by a complex multi dimension graph. However, this method is difficult to identify the important of relationship to focus on personal user intuitively. In order to resolve above problem, this paper proposes a new visualization method using the user's correlation and user relationship of network node. The proposed method visualizes the hierarchy relationship of users using the internal relation of network reflecting user's message and external relation of network nodes.
A proxy driving system supporting user convenience and system efficiency

This paper describes the design and implementation of a 3-tiered proxy driving system utilizing smartphones. This system provides customers with a convenient request facility, and enables proxy drivers to provide a prompt service based on customer's location information. Implemented system supports two methods such as the existing phone-call and the online requesting method using smartphones. Performance analysis shows that the higher the ratio of online requests, the greater the effect of decreasing of phone jockey's workloads and the reduction of request processing time through the automation of receipt and processing. From a proxy driver company's standpoint, this system minimizes the increase of phone jockeys, and improves customer satisfaction through good service quality. This system also helps the company reduce the cost and increase the market share.

In this paper, we propose a FSOURCE circuit which requires such a small switching current that an eFuse OTP memory can be programmed in the post-package state of the PMIC chips using a single power supply. This paper introduces a new DC-DC voltage multiplier using a Dickson's charge pump and a modified voltage doubler. The voltage obtained from a conventional Dickson's chrage pump was reused for accelerating the voltage multiplication and the architecture of the proposed voltage multiplier would not decrease the device reliability of DMOS. The proposed 6-stage voltage multiplier generates about 33V with 3V voltage source. To evaluate the proposed voltage multiplier, simulations were performed with Magna DMOS technology. The simulated voltage multiplication agrees well with a theoretical value, therefore, this paper introduces a new fast voltage multiplier with minimum devices.
Study on Lowering of the Polarization in SiOC Thin FIlms by Post Annealing

The SiOC film of carbon centered system was prepared using bistrimethylsilylmethane (BTMSM) and oxygen mixed precursor by the chemical vapor deposition. The dielectric constant is measured by MIS(metal/insulator/Si) structure, but it could decrease the reliability because the uniformity is not assured. To research the dielectric constant of SiOC film, the range of low polarization was researched in SiOC film using the optical analysis and hardness, and then calculated the dielectric constant of SiOC film with amorphous structure of high degree. After annealing, the dielectric constant of SiOC film was decreased owing to the lowering of polarization, and FTIR spectra of the main bond was shifted to higher wave number. The main bond of 950~1200 cm-1 was composed of the Si-C and Si-O bonds. The intensity increases in Si-O bond infers the bonding strength became stronger than that of deposited film. Annealed SiOC film showed 2.06 in dielectric constant.
Design of GHz Analog FIR Filter based on a Distributed Amplifier

This paper introduces analog FIR filters based on a distributed amplifier and analyzes the proposed filter's characteristics. A simple design method of an analog FIR filter based on the digital filter design technique is also introduced. The proposed analog FIR filters are a moving average(MA) and a comb type filters with no multiplier. This simple structures of the proposed filters may enable to operate at multi-GHz frequency range and applicable to combine a filter and an amplifier of RF system. The proposed analog FIR filters were implemented with standard
CMOS technology. The designed GHz analog FIR filters are simulated by Cadence Spectre and compared to the results of digital FIR filters obtained from MATLAB simulations. From the simulation results, the characteristics of the proposed analog FIR filters are fairly well matched with those of digital FIR filters.
FPGA Design and Realization for Scanning Image Enhancement using LUT Shading Correction Algorithm

This paper describes FPGA design and realization using the shading correction algorithm for a CCD scan image enhancement. The shading algorithm is used by LUT (Look-up Table). The image enhancement results from that the histogram minimum value and maximum with respect to all pixels of the CCD image should be extracted, and the shading LUT is constructed to keep constant histogram with offset data. The output of sensor be converted to corrected LUT image in preprocessing, and the converting system is realized by FPGA to be enabled to operate in real time. The result of the experimentation for the proposed system is showed to take the scanning time 2.4ms below. The system is presented to be based on a low speed processor system to scan enhanced images in real time and be guaranteed to be low cost.
Segmentation and 3-Dimensional Reconstruction of Liver using MeVisLab

Success rate of transplantation of body organs improved due to development of medical equipment and diagnostic technology. In particular, a liver transplant due to liver dysfunction has increased. With the development of image processing and analysis to obtain the volume for liver transplantation have increased the accuracy and efficiency. In this thesis, we try to reconstruct the regions of the liver within three dimensional images using the mevislab tool, which is effective in quick comparison and analysis of various algorithms, and in expedient development of prototypes. Liver is divided by applying threshold values and region growing method to the original image, and by removing noise and unnecessary entities through morphology and region filling, and setting of areas of interest. It is deemed that high temporal efficiency, and presentation of diverse range of comparison and analysis module application methods through usage of MeVisLab would make contribution towards expanding of baseline of medical image processing researches.
A Study on Improved Denoising Algorithm for Edge Preservation in AWGN Environments

Nowadays, the high quality of image is required with the demand for digital image processing devices is rapidly increasing. But image always damaged by many kinds of noises and it is necessary to remove noise and the denoising becomes one of the most important fields. In many cases image is corrupted by AWGN(additive white Gaussian noise). In this paper, we proposed an improved denoising algorithm with edge preservation. The proposed algorithm averages values processed by spatial weighted filter and self adaptive weighted filter. Then we add the value which is computed by the equation considering variance of mask and the estimated noise variance. Through the experience, the proposed filter performs well on noise suppression and edge preservation properties and improves the image visual quality.
High-precision positioning system using a database of the environment, position correction algorithm

Recently, demands of application services in consideration of interior environment according to the stream of times, Ubiquitous. In case of interior location-based service, WLAN is now mostly used. But it is largely affected by environmental changes. To solve this problem, lots of studies on UWB are underway. The reason why studies on UWB are much made lies in that it is not much affected by environment changes owing to radio wave characteristics. So this study suggests the location correction algorithm which derives values with less influence of environment and high accuracy and corrects with more accurate location information using Ubisense system based on UWB technologies. The location correction algorithm suggested is one made after constructing environment database and use it to estimate more accurate location from the location measuring system in a high position.
IEEE 802.15.4a based Localization Algorithm for Location Accuracy Enhancement in the NLOS Environment

IEEE 802.15.4a standard can provide a variety of location-based services for ZigBee or wireless network applications by adapting the time-of-arrival (TOA) ranging technique. The non-line-of-sight (NLOS) condition is the critical problem in the IEEE 802.15.4a networks, and it can significantly degrade the performance of the TOA-based localization. To enhance the location accuracy due to the NLOS problem, this paper proposes an energy-efficient low complexity localization algorithm. The proposed approach performs the ranging with the multicast method, which can reduce the message overhead due to packet exchanges. By limiting the search region for the location of the node, the proposed approach can enhance the location accuracy. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms previous algorithms in terms of the energy consumption and the localization accuracy.
Activity of Nature Plants Extracts against Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853

Anti-Pseudomonas aeruginosa activities for ethanol extract of 34 medicinal plants widely used in the folk medicine were evaluated to screening of anti-Pseudomonas aeruginosa agents. The ethanol extracts of Gardenia jasminoides, Arctium lappa, Citrus unshiu, and Phellodendron amurense showed antimicrobial activities against P. aeruginosa ATCC 27853. The ethanol extracts of Gardenia jasminoides among these medicinal plants showed significant antimicrobial activity against P. aeruginosa. Therefore, we expect that these medicinal plants will be useful for nature antimicrobial agent against P. aeruginosa in future.
A Study on Youth Ethics Education Using Location-Based Services of Smartphone

As mobile devices have rapidly spread to consumers, services with location information have been developed. The service that they provide related information by positioning automatically is referred to as 'Location-Based Service'. This paper suggests the ways that users instruct the students proper ethics in advance, after saving their moving course and offensive businesses in database, with 'Location-Based Service', by positioning their movements, especially the degree of breaking away from their course and the cases of their access to an offensive business and their stay in crime-prone areas, and comparing them to those in the database.
Implementation of Contents System using Color Marker in Mobile AR

Black marker cause unnatural problems between the existing various contents and marker. To solve this problem, we tested frequency of 3D objects according to the various colors and color placement. Based on this, infant's learning content system based NyARToolkit for the mobile-based augmented reality was implemented. By insert to color marker, We are solved the unnatural problems in the Implemented system. and infant can study seamlessly because concentration increases by the familiar character on the markers.
The Study of Data Recorder for Mission Replay

On the matter in line with NCW(Network Centric Warfare) and information age, the military is on an efficient-expanding trend as sharing with status and information promptly through the various and complex exchange of messages and the voice communication between operators, using a highly efficient operating console. The recording devices that record an operational situation to plan a new operation through the mission analysis and result reviews after finishing military operation or training are developed and operated. Recording method is classified into two groups. one is the direct recording of video data for screen, another is the recording of an exchange of data. This study proposes the new data-oriented recording method to reduce the readiness time for replay and the improvement scheme.
