A Fast and Accurate Face Detection and Tracking Method by using Depth Information and color information

This paper proposes a fast face detection and tracking method which uses depth images as well as RGB images. It consists of the face detection procedure and the face tracking procedure. The face detection method basically uses an existing method, Adaboost, but it reduces the size of the search area by using the depth information and skin color. The proposed face tracking method uses a template matching technique and incorporates an early-termination scheme to reduce the execution time further. The results from implementing and experimenting the proposed methods showed that the proposed face detection method takes only about 39% of the execution time of the existing method. The proposed tracking method takes only 2.48ms per frame. For the exactness, the proposed detection method and previous method showed a same detection ratio but in the error ratio, which is about 0.66%, the proposed method showed considerably improved performance. In all the cases except a special one, the tracking error ratio is as low as about 1%. Therefore, we expect the proposed face detection and tracking methods can be used individually or in combined for many applications that need fast execution and exact detection or tracking.

With increasing chronic patients due to population aging, many needs for pro-active health and medical treatment services are rising and desire for health care service is also rising due to national standard of living Especially population aging of Korea is faster than America, France and many other advanced nations, and a study states that arrival time of elderly population rates; 14%(aged society) to 20%(transcendental aged society)l only takes 8 years. In these reasons, health care industry for the next engine industry is reinforced. Many health care terminals are coming out and Continua Health Alliance is founded and working steadily based on Philips in 2006. In this paper, we suggest Gateway interface system for Continua accreditation to control vary communication by designing intelligent health care interface suitable for Continua international accreditation because there are many types of terminals and communication protocols.

A 1V 1.6-GS/s 6-bit flash analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a clock calibration circuit is proposed. A single track/hold circuit with a bootstrapped analog switch is used as an input stage with a supply voltage of 1V for the high speed operation. Two preamplifier-arrays and each comparator composed of two-stage are implemented for the reduction of analog noises and high speed operation. The clock calibration circuit in the proposed flash ADC improves the dynamic performance of the entire flash ADC by optimizing the duty cycle and phase of the clock. It adjusts the reset and evaluation time of the clock for the comparator by controlling the duty cycle of the clock. The proposed 1.6-GS/s 6-bit flash ADC is fabricated in a 1V 90nm 1-poly 9-metal CMOS process. The measured SNDR is 32.8 dB for a 800 MHz analog input signal. A Study on Interference Cancellation in a FM-CW Radar

Two separate antennas are usually adopted in high performance radar systems to achieve the high degree of isolation since the transmission and reception of signals cannot be separated in time. However, even though two spatially separated antennas are installed in the system, strong signals from a transmission antenna can cause the serious interference problem in a receiving antenna. These strong interference signals from the transmission antenna can cause serious problems in detection and analysis of much weaker echo signals which are reflected by small targets. Also the increased level of background noise power due to interference can cause the serious degradation of the system performance. Therefore, in this paper, the proper cancellation method is suggested and results are shown and analyzed for removal of strong interference and background noise power.
Analysis of Frequency Sharing Performance using Guard Band and User Device Density in a Urban Environment

We make an interference analysis to obtain a critical ctiteria for coexisting availability of WLAN and WiBro between adjacent channels can be used in TVWS(TV White Space). To meet this analysis, we set the various transmission parameters including the emission and blocking mask, antenna height and gain, transmission power and bandwidth, channel model etc. And, based on these parameters, we analyze on performances according to a variation of guard band, a number of service user and allowable transmit power of the user operating in the adjacent channels. In this paper, we consider a urban environment and apply a Extended Hata-SRD for WLAN and an interference link and Extended Hata model for WiBro, respectively. With these results, we can see how each system can be shared in an adjacent channel.
Classification of Underwater Transient Signals Using Gaussian Mixture Model

Transient signals generally have short duration and variable length with time-varying and non-stationary characteristics. Thus frame-based pattern matching method is useful for classification of transient signals. In this paper, we propose a new method for classification of underwater transient signals using a Gaussian mixture model(GMM). We carried out classification experiments for various underwater transient signals depending upon the types of noise, signal-to-noise ratio, and number of mixtures in the GMM. Experimental results have verified that the proposed method works quite well for classification of underwater transient signals.

Generally, in the underwater target recognition, feature vectors are extracted from the target signal utilizing spatial information according to target shape/material characteristics. And, various signal processing techniques have been studied to extract feature vectors which is less sensitive to the location of the receiver. In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of synthesized underwater objects using canonical correlation analysis method which is relatively less sensitive to the location of receiver. Canonical correlation analysis is applied to two consecutive backscattered sonar returns at different aspect angles to analyze the correlation characteristics in multi-aspect environment.
Design and Performance Analysis of sliding correlator digital DS-SS Transceiver

In this paper, we design the sliding correlator SS transceiver which supports short message service. We also analyze the PN code acquisition circuit that is essential for spread spectrum receiver. Using Maxplus II tool provided by altera Co., Ltd, we have designed PN code generator, and sliding correlator for PN code acquisition. Then, they have been made into FPGA by way of EPM7064SLC44-10 - a chip of Altera Co., Ltd. Additionally, we have designed delay clock circuit which is faster than the clock of Tx PN clock, designed switching circuit to control the clock rate and data demodulation circuit. The performance of the transceiver is evaluated from the experimental results. Especially, the performance of PN code acquisition accomplished by sliding correlator which is very important to evaluate spread spectrum receiver is evaluated with the comparison of the lock states.
A Study on Efficient CNU Algorithm for High Speed LDPC decoding in DVB-S2

In this paper, efficient CNU(Check Node Update) algorithms are analyzed for high speed LDPC decoding in DVB-S2 standard. In aspect to CNU methods, there are some kinds of CNU methods. Among of them, MP (Min Product) method is quite often used in LDPC decoding. However MP needs LUT (Look Up Table) that is critical path in LDPC decoding speed. A new SC-NMS (Self-Corrected Normalized Min-Sum) method is proposed in the paper. NMS needs only normalized scaling factor instead of LUT and compensates the overestimation of MP approximation. In addition, SC method is proposed. It gives a faster convergence toward a decoded codeword. If a message change its sign between two iterations, it is not reliable and to avoid to propagate noisy information, its module is set to 0. The performance of SC-NMS has a little degrade compare to MP by 0.1 dB, however considering computational complexity and decoding speed, SC-NMS algorithm is optimal method for CNU algorithm.
An Advanced User-friendly Wireless Smart System for Vehicle Safety Monitoring and Accident Prevention

This paper presents an On-board Smart Device (OSD) for moving vehicle, based on a smooth integration of Android-based devices and a Micro-control Unit (MCU). The MCU is used for the acquisition and transmission of various vehicle-borne data. The OSD has threefold functions: Record, Report and Alarm. Based on these RRA functions, the OSD is basically a safety and convenience oriented smart device, where it facilitates alert services such as accident report and rescue as well as alarm for the status of vehicle. In addition, voice activated interface is developed for the convenience of users. Vehicle data can also be uploaded to a remote server for further access and data manipulation. Therefore, unlike conventional blackboxes, the developed OSD lends itself to a user-friendly smart device for vehicle safety: It basically stores monitoring images in driving plus vehicle data collection. Also, it reports on accident and enables subsequent rescue operation. The developed OSD can thus be considered an essential safety smart device equipped with comprehensive wireless data service, image transfer and voice activated interface.
Relative Service Differentiation with Dynamic Wavelength Allocations and Preemptions in JET based Optical Burst-Switched Networks with Deflection Routing

In this paper, relative service differentiation in JET based optical burst-switched networks with deflection routing is presented. It differs from conventional schemes in that it tries to make the loss rate of high class bursts as low as possible while maintaining the desired proportional ratio between the high class bursts and low class bursts. Strategies applied to it are dynamic wavelength allocation and the preemption which are combined to deflection routing. With dynamic wavelength allocation, the number of wavelengths allocated to high class bursts are dynamically changed. Preemption which gives more preference to high class bursts is also applied to decrease its loss rate. To lower the loss rate, deflection routing is applied for any kind of traffic. With those strategies, the suggested scheme shows desired properties that the loss rate of high class traffic is as lowered as possible. A queueing model for the scheme is developed to approximate loss ratio and the numerical results show that the proposed scheme provisions relative service differentiation.

'No-Automobile driving Day' is one of Special option of Automobile Insurance in Republic of Korea. It option is used a system for collect to automobile driving information. However, Its system gives discomfort to users of this system. A Discomfort of this system to users is the OBD device's(Personal Car Driving Check Device) installation. A frequent installation of this device provides this OBD device's breakage to the users of this system. In this paper, for a solve this problem, studied new system design to supplement the existing system using Smartphone and WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network).

A by-pass path in wireless sensor networks is the alternative path which be able to forward data when a routing path is being broken. One reason of depleting energy is occurred by the path. The method for solving prior to addressed the problem is proposed. However, this method may deplete radio resource. The best path has advantage that network lifetime of sensor nodes is prolonged; on the contrary, in order to maintain the best path it have to share their information between the entire nodes. In this paper, we propose the best path searching algorithm in the distributed three dimensional sensor networks. Through the neighboring informations sharing in the proposed method, the proposed algorithm can decide the best k-path as well as the extension of network lifetime.
Anticipatory Packet Collision Avoidance Algorithm among WiFi and ZigBee Networks for Port Logistics Applications

USNs (Ubiquitous Sensor Networks) such as IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee network share ISM (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical) frequency band with WiFi networks. Once both networks operate in a region, packet collision may happen because of frequency overlapping. To assure this possibility, we conducted experiments where WiFi and ZigBee communication networks had been installed in an area. As a result of the test, successful data transmission rate were reduced due to the frequency overlapping between a WiFi communication channel and a ZigBee communication band. To cope with this problem, we propose a collision avoidance algorithm. In the proposed algorithm, if frequency collision is sensed, new communication channel with different frequency band is allocated to each node. Performance of the proposed frequency collision avoidance algorithm was tested and the results were described.
Initial QP Determination Algorithm using Bit Rate Model

The first frame is encoded in intra mode which generates a larger number of bits. In addition, the first frame is used for the inter mode encoding of the following frames. Thus the initial QP for the first frame affects the first frame as well as the following frames. Traditionally, the initial QP is determined among four constant values only depending on the bpp. In the case of low bit rate video coding, the initial QP value is fixed to 40 regardless of the output bandwidth. Although this initialization scheme is simple, yet it is not accurate enough. An accurate initial QP prediction scheme should not only depends on bpp but also on the complexity of the video sequence and the output bandwidth. In the proposed scheme, we determine the initial QP according to the ratio of the first frame to the total bits allocated to a GOP. To estimate the QP of the allocated bits, Rate-QP model is used. It is shown by experimental results that the new algorithm can predict the optimal initial QP more accurately and generate the PSNR performance better than that of the existing JVT algorithm.

RFID Mutual Autentication Protocol Using AES

Recently use of RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) tends to be rapidly increased and will be also extended throughout the whole life. Using radio-frequency data can be recognized automatically in the RFID system is vulnerable to personal information protection or security. And passive tags have a hardware problem is the limit for applying cryptographic. This paper presents an authentication protocol using AES and Nounce. After completing mutual authentication server to access and strengthen security vulnerability to the use of the Nounce, because safety in denial of service attacks.

Home healthcare system has lot of things to do for the integration with medical instruments in the sense of standardization. We will design and implement mobile healthcare system based on smart gateway thru adaptation of ISO/IEEE 11073, and HL7 standard. And also we are willing to research heart rate monitor, pulse-oxygen meter and ECG monitor in order to develop mobile healthcare system for medical appliance. We studied the connection of standard medical devices, i.e, continua health alliance under the Android 4.x Bluetooth HDP(Health Device Profile) environments. We also tried to implement healthcare system which can support diagnosis for healthcare provider and user based on HL7 standard.

Social network service user or smart phone user is very convenient, because there are supported to various social network services such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Naver blog, Daum blog, and so on. This Is very good because they store multimedia datas that user wants to cyber space if they want it conveniently. But, if social network user increases, space of cloud storage increases sharply, and when social network service used user dies then they have big problems such as they did not know in existing. Typically, problems of notice, dissemination, storage, and inheritance for digital asset can happen representatively. Now, If successor send relation information of he and his dead user that is family to social network service provider then service provider checks it. And successor may can use, save and only backup are possible after confirm of family relation truth. Therefore, We wish to propose ADAM that successor may can inherit digital assets easily, conveniently, and safely in this paper. If someone use ADAM, successor submits information about dead and own family relation in the third certification party. And ADAM can be inherited freely and conveniently about digital assets as general assets passing through right inheritance process.
Wireless LAN System based on IEEE 802.1x EAP-TLS Authentication Mechanism

The IEEE 802.1x standard provides an architectural framework which can be used various authentication methods. But, IEEE 802.1x also has vulnerabilities about the DoS(Denial of Service), the session hijacking and the MiM(Man in the Middle) attack due to caused by structural of authentication protocol. In this paper, we propose a WLAN system which can offer safety communication by complement of IEEE 802.1x vulnerabilities. The WLAN system accomplishes mutual authentications between authentication servers, clients and the AP using PKI and prevents an illegal user from intervening in communication to disguise oneself as a client, the AP or authentication servers. Also, we guarantee the safety of the communication by the Dynamic WEP key distribution between clients and the AP.

Smart phones mixed with mobile devices and computers are biggest change of information technology and user-installed applications of them provide various information and services which were only possible on PC and Internet in the past. They are expected to be used by thirty million people in 2012 and people with disabilities can get easily information and location of disabled facilities using them. In this paper, we design a mobile information service system for person with disabilities, which provides various information and location of disabled facilities. We build information of disabled facilities using acquisition information through existing web sites and provide location based service with user's location. We also implement and service the proposed system and we show efficiency of our system.

A drive system is necessary to operate LED by an LED illumination system. Because Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) is higher in efficiency in the large capacity than Linear Regulator, it is used mainly and controls this in an analog form or digital method. A MCU and a DSP of the digital control central processing unit were higher in a unit price than existing analog control chip, so that an approach was not easy for application of SMPS. But it can take the earnings by it lets you integrate various digital control features like an LED illumination system in one MCU, and realizing a whole system. In this paper, we suggest the algorithm that can improve LED driving current in applying such a digital control method using low-priced type MCU.
Performance Comparison of TDMA and Lottery Bus Arbitration Policy Due to Various Conditions

The general bus system architecture consists of masters, slaves, arbiter, decoder and so on in shared bus. As several masters can't use a bus concurrently, arbiter plays an role in bus arbitration. In compliance with the selection of arbitration method, The efficiency of bus usage can be determined. Fixed Priority, Round-Robin, TDMA, Lottery arbitration are studied in conventional arbitration method. In this paper, we draw the performance comparison of TDMA and Lottery bus arbitration policy developed recently due to farious conditions and propose the methods of performance improvement.
Analysis of Subthreshold Characteristics for Double Gate MOSFET using Impact Factor based on Scaling Theory

The subthreshold characteristics has been analyzed to investigate the effect of two gate in Double Gate MOSFET using impact factor based on scaling theory. The charge distribution of Gaussian function validated in previous researches has been used to obtain potential distribution in Poisson equation. The potential distribution was used to investigate the short channel effects such as threshold voltage roll-off, subthreshold swings and drain induced barrier lowering by varying impact factor for scaling factor. The impact factor of 0.1~1.0 for channel length and 1.0~2.0 for channel thickness are used to fit structural feature of DGMOSFET. The simulation result showed that the subthreshold swings are mostly effected by impact factor but are nearly constant for scaling factors. And threshold voltage roll-off and drain induced barrier lowering are also effected by both impact factor and scaling factor.

Premature ventricular contraction(PVC) is the most common disease among arrhythmia and it may cause serious situations such as ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. Particularly, in the healthcare system that must continuously monitor patient's situation, it is necessary to process ECG (Electrocardiography) signal in realtime. In other words, the design of algorithm that exactly detects R wave using minimal computation and classifies PVC by analyzing the persons's physical condition and/or environment is needed. Thus, the patient adaptive pattern matching algorithm for the classification of PVC is presented in this paper. For this purpose, we detected R wave through the preprocessing method, adaptive threshold and window. Also, we applied pattern matching method to classify each patient's normal cardiac behavior through the Hash function. The performance of R wave detection and abnormal beat classification is evaluated by using MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The achieved scores indicate the average of 99.33% in R wave detection and the rate of 0.32% in abnormal beat classification error.

There is body type that physique classified by apparent characteristics as shape of human body. Chest girth circumference and body type statistically has been look into correlative disposition, character etc. In this paper, we carried out study about prediction of chest girth as voice that interrelationship drew to analyze voice of disposition, character etc. in personal character. With this in mind, we measured intensity, spectrum about laughter by chest girth to classify composition group of subjects and then we would like to extract experiment result to predict chest girth by reciprocal comparison.
3D Image Display Method using Synthetic Aperture integral imaging

Synthetic aperture integral imaging is one of promising 3D imaging techniques to capture the high-resolution elemental images using multiple cameras. In this paper, we propose a method of displaying 3D images in space using the synthetic aperture integral imaging technique. Since the elemental images captured from SAII cannot be directly used to display 3D images in an integral imaging display system, we first extract the depth map from elemental images and then transform them to novel elemental images for 3D image display. The newly generated elemental images are displayed on a display panel to generate 3D images in space. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, we carry out the preliminary experiments using a 3D toy object and present the experimental results.

Because of the growth of internet and development of smart phone technology, peoples are able to connect the internet easily and convenient at anytime, and anywhere. The other hand, that take place many serious social side-effect and one of a typical cases is the problem of malicious replay in weaken of netizen's internet ethics. The problem of malicious replay is increasing more and more the seriousness of the problem and the victims are suffering from much the pains of the trauma by a malicious replay. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate and analyze actual on aware of internet ethics and malicious replay for university students and then we propose the improvement of the problem.
A Revised MintRoute Protocol for (m,k)-firm Streams in Wireless Sensor Networks

Since the wireless sensor networks become pervasive, various application-specific requirement have been emerged and suggested. Among them, reliability and real-time service are ones of big research challenges since sensed information is useless if a packet is lost and delivered later than deadline. Even though many research works have been proposed, they was designed to meet one of both requirements. To solve above problem, in this paper, we propose how to extend current protocol to meet two requirements together. More detailed, Mint Route protocol is revised to meet specific real-time requirement, (m,k)-firm stream in wireless sensor networks. Since the main operations in MintRoute are very similar to definition of (m,k)-firm stream, extension is achieved by modifying some parts of procedure. Finally, the simulation results are given and analyzed to validate the its suitability for reliable and real-time requirement.
Design and Implementation of Real Time Locating System for Efficient Vehicle Pooling in Port Terminal

In a port terminal, containers are stored and transshipped by yard tractors and crane vehicles. For operation efficiency of the terminal, location information of these vehicles is an essential factor. However, most of port terminals try to estimate location of these assets using indirect methods such as event tracking of shipping or unshipping containers. Because these kinds of events are rarely occurred, location of the event includes seriously locating error compared to a real location of vehicle. In this paper, we propose a real-time asset tracking system to obtain accurate and reliable location of terminal assets. The proposed system overcomes a location estimation error caused by container stacks which interrupt wireless communication. In order to mitigate uncertainty and increase accuracy of location estimation, we designed hardwares and multi-step locating system to resolve additional preblems. We implemented system components, and installed these at a port environment for evaluation. The result shows superiority of the system that the accuracy is approximately 5.87 meters (CEP).
Implementation of Smartphone Games Combining Motion Recognitions and Mutual Communications of Terminals

The generalization trend of smart phones have brought many smartphone games into daily lives. These games are mainly dependent on the interactions on the display of the phone using finger touches. On the other hand, functions for detecting the positions and actions of the phones such as gyro-sensors have been rapidly developed over the former orientation sensors and acceleration sensors. Though it has become technologically possible to detect the users' motion via the smartphone devices and to use the phone device directly as the game device, it is hard to find the actualized cases. This paper proposes a new paradigm including basic frameworks and algorithm for the games combining the motion recognitions and mutual communications on the smartphones and finally presents the details of its implementation and results.

In this paper we tried to overcome the limit of contents which occur when we implement the augmented reality technology adapted application on commercialized mobile system. First of all, we checked the requirement analysis of exclusive mobile system to support augmented reality. And then we designed and realized the mobile system based on this facts. Also we embodied augmented reality application based on NyARToolkit which assists augmented reality techniques. Finally the implemented contents operated properly in our exclusive mobile system. Consequently we confirmed the suitability and validity of our system through above test.
Dynamic QoS Mechanism for supporting VoIP Service in Tactical Communication Environment

Tactical communication environment evolving for the purpose of providing services such as voice, video and text based on ALL-IP. Therefore, To be able to guarantee QoS level which meets the required level of subscriber for these services in the constrained tactical communication infrastructure, it is required to take the characteristics such as wireless transmission link, mobility of troops or personal into service quality scheme. In this paper, to support differentiated QoS for each individual or mission in the tactical communication environment, we presents a technique that can provide same QoS level which was served originally regardless of the situation to user's move through dynamically determining the QoS level to be provided at the time of the service request on VoIP-Switch.
