An Analysis of Radio Interference in the Rain Radars

The interference among the rain radars and interference in the adjacent wireless station due to the spurious signals from the rain radar were analyzed in this paper. The rain radar measures the rain intensity using S-band signal. The measured data are utilized in forecasting the rainfall. The interference among the rain radars or in the adjacent wireless stations may be caused by the operation with low elevation angle and the high output power. Based on the propagation analysis of S band signal and the deduced interference protection ratio of rain radar, the interference due to the rain radar are analyzed. Also, the radiation spectrum characteristics of a rain radar are deduced from the caused interference effects by the spurious signals of the rain radar. To minimize the interference effects for adjacent wireless stations, it is required to get the rejection characteristics of spurious signals above 105 dB. In viewpoints of interference for rain radars, it is necessary to operate the rain radar with a different PRF and operation time opposite to adjacent rain radars.
Implementation of a Fuzzy Control System for Two-Wheeled Inverted Pendulum Robot based on Artificial Neural Network

In this paper, a control system for two wheeled inverted pendulum robot is implemented to have more stable balancing capability than the conventional control system. Fuzzy control structure is chosen for the two wheeled inverted pendulum robot, and fuzzy membership function factors for the control system are obtained for 3 specified weights using a trial-and-error method. Next a neural network is employed to generate fuzzy membership function factors for more stable control performance when the weight is arbitrarily selected. Through some experiments, we find that the proposed fuzzy control system using the neural network is superior to the conventional fuzzy control system.
Intermediate View Image and its Digital Hologram Generation for an Virtual Arbitrary View-Point Hologram Service

This paper proposes an intermediate image generation method for the viewer`s view point by tracking the viewer`s face, which is converted to a digital hologram. Its purpose is to increase the viewing angle of a digital hologram, which is gathering higher and higher interest these days. The method assumes that the image information for the leftmost and the rightmost view points within the viewing angle to be controlled are given. It uses a stereo-matching method between the leftmost and the rightmost depth images to obtain the pseudo-disparity increment per depth value. With this increment, the positional informations from both the leftmost view point and the rightmost view point are generated, which are blended to get the information at the wanted intermediate viewpoint. The occurrable dis-occlusion region in this case is defined and a inpainting method is proposed. The results from implementing and experimenting this method showed that the average image qualities of the generated depth and RGB image were 33.83[dB] and 29.5[dB], respectively, and the average execution time was 250[ms] per frame. Also, we propose a prototype system to service digital hologram interactively to the viewer by using the proposed intermediate view generation method. It includes the operations of data acquisition for the leftmost and the rightmost viewpoints, camera calibration and image rectification, intermediate view image generation, computer-generated hologram (CGH) generation, and reconstruction of the hologram image. This system is implemented in the LabView(R) environments, in which CGH generation and hologram image reconstruction are implemented with GPGPUs, while others are implemented in software. The implemented system showed the execution speed to process about 5 frames per second.
Two-Channel Noise Reduction Using Beamforming and DOA-Based Masking

In this paper, we propose a multi-channel speech enhancement algorithm using beamforming and direction-of-arrival (DOA)-based masking. The proposed algorithm enhances noisy speech basically by the linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) algorithm and then a mel-scale Wiener filter designed using DOA-based masking is applied to remove still remaining noises. To improve the performance, we optimize the learning rate of the adaptive filters in LCMV and the DOA threshold to detect target speech spectrum. As performance indices, the perceptual evaluation of speech quality (PESQ) score and output SNRs are measured. Experimantal results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional LCMV beamformer by 0.09 in PESQ score and 5.75 dB in output SNR, respectively.
A Spread Random Interleaver based Efficient DES Algorithm for Personal Cloud Computing Environments

An efficient encryption algorithm based on the Data Encryption Standard (DES) for personal cloud computing environments is presented. The proposed algorithm improves data privacy, security and also encryption speed, compared with the triple DES. The improvement of the proposed algorithm stems from enhanced privacy inherent from the use of spread random interleaver in the place of the known substitution table for initial and final permutations in the DES algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate that the interleaver based DES (I-DES) is found to run faster than the triple DES algorithm and also offer improved security. The proposed algorithm also offers encryption for variable-length data using the Cipher Block Chaining (CBC).
Patient Authentication Protocol for Synchronization between Implantable Medical Device

Among U-healthcare services adapting the latest IT technique and medical technique, a body-injecting device technique providing medical service to a patient who has incurable disease. But the body-injecting device technique can be easily exposed during wireless section to the third person and it can be used illegally. This paper proposes certification protocol which certifies a patient and hospital staff using random number created by certification server and a patient with hospital staff by synchronization. Specially, the proposed protocol uses security information created by information registered in certification server previously by a patient and hospital staff so that in keeps from accessing of third person who didn`t get approval. And it gives more stability.
The Design and Implementation of Improved Anti-Collision Algorithm for Vehicle User Authentication System

Because many of the FOB key, anti-collision algorithm for a seamless multi-access is applied to the smart-key system. In this paper, we have designed and implemented improved anti-collision algorithm that dramatically reduces the communication response time required in the user authentication process immediately after by dynamically changing the order in which the request of the user ID as the user ID on immediately before in the smart key system for vehicles that use many of the FOB key. In order to evaluate the performance of the system the improved anti-collision algorithm is applied, we show the behavior of the algorithm implemented in the state actually mounted on the vehicle and verify that communication response time required for many of the FOB key was reduced by about 33% compared to existing algorithms.
Design of Efficient Adult Authentication Model for prevent of illegal Service of Child in IPTV Service Environment

Recently IPTV that transmits multimedia contents in real time through internet, cable TV net and satelite net gets the limelight. But IPTV service that gives service to users by various media has a problem of not supporting user certification fully. This paper suggests a certification model which prevents getting access permission of IPTV service by sending illegal certification information by adolescent through integrating mobile communication technique with RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) technique which is a key technique of Ubiquitous environment. This model performs the process of adult certification by keeping synchronization with user`s certificaiton information that is saved in data-base of certification server and contents server after getting the system of class categorization in contents server to overcome disadvantage of simple adult certification system that is popular in the existing internet. Also, it adapts double hash chain technique not to down load illegally contents without the permission of manager even if an adolescent gets manager`s approval key.
Hardware Implementation of Optical Fault Injection Attack-resistant Montgomery exponentiation-based RSA

In this paper, we propose a novel optical fault detection scheme for RSA hardware based on Montgomery exponentiation, which can effectively detect optical fault injection during the exponent calculation. To protect the RSA hardware from the optical fault injection attack, we implemented integrity check logic for memory and optical fault detection logic for Montgomery-based multiplier. The proposed scheme is considered to be safe from various type of attack and it can be implemented with no additional operation time and small area overhead which is less than 3%.

Active-Standby Duplication Techniques are conventionally used for fault-tolerant systems. But in this paper we researched on the Active-Active Duplication Techniques for Fault-tolerant DNS System. Our Active-Active Duplication made the 1st DNS periodically copied to the 2nd DNS and maintained the same status by using Rsync and Crontab. Even though the 1st or the 2nd DNS stops due to some critical errors, the remaining DNS can take over and provide continuous services.

e-Navigation requires shipboard integrated information system to manage several kinds of data on shipboard. IEC 61162-450 may be adopted for the development of such system. Based on IEC 61162-450, this paper proposes an architecture of shipboard integrated information system, and describes a developed system. The system is composed of NMEA 2000 gateway, wireless sensor gateway, database, monitoring applications. This paper also shows the feasibility of the system through some tests.
A Study on Efficient Split Algorithm for Minimum Bounding Box of Moving Object Trajectoty

With the recent development of wireless network technologies, there have been increasing usage of variouse position base servies. Position based services basically collect position information of moving object for the utilization of them in real life. Accordingly, new index structures are required to efficiently retrieve the consecutive positions of moving objects. In the paper, we consider volume of Extended Minimum Bounding Rectangles(EMBR) to be determined by average size of range queries. We proposed the methode that split efficiently moving object with long distance between location, and split moving object for decrease searching space an Estimated-Split algorithm that minimizes the volume of MBRs is designed and simulated. Our experimental evaluation confirms the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed splitting policy.
Minimum-Time Trajectory Control of Ships Using Neural Networks

A ship is intended to reach a specified target point in the minimum-time when it travels with a constant speed through a region of strong currents and its heading angle is the control variable. This is called the Zermelo`s navigation problem. Its approximate solution for the minimum-time control may be found using the calculus of variation. However, the accuracy of its approximate solution is not high since the solution is based on a table form of inverse relations for some complicated nonlinear equations. To enhance the accuracy, this paper employs the neural network to represent the inverse relation of the complicated nonlinear equations. The accurate minimum-time control is possible with the interpolation property of the neural network. Through the computer simulation study we have found that the proposed method is superior to the conventional ones.

The islanding detection and prevention function in the important performance of the grid-connected inverter is the essential details which should be considered for worker`s safety to maintain the system. This paper tries to suggest the active frequency shake islanding detection technique in the grid-connected PV generation system using sunlight. The existing active frequency drift method algorithm is described to suggest active frequency shake method algorithm. And, the algorithm which can reduce the non-detection zone, improve THD, and improve the detection speed in comparison with the existing algorithm is suggested. And we applied the proposed algorithm to the 3kW grid-connected photovoltaic inverter generation and verified the feasibility of the technique through the simulation and experiments.
A 125 MHz CMOS Delay-Locked Loop with 32-phase Output Clock

A delay-locked loop (DLL) that generates a 32-phase clock with the operating frequency of 125 MHz is introduced. The proposed DLL uses a delay line of
matrix architecture to improve a differential non-linearity (DNL) of the delay line. Furthermore, a integral non-linearity (INL) of the proposed DLL is improved by calibrating phases of clocks that is supplied to four points of an input stage of the
matrix delay line. The proposed DLL is fabricated by using
CMOS process with a 1.2 V supply. The measured operating frequency range of the implemented DLL is 40 MHz to 280 MHz. At the operating frequency of 125MHz, the measurement results shows that the DNL and INL are +0.14/-0.496 LSB and +0.46/-0.404 LSB, respectively. The measured peak-to-peak jitter of the output clock is 30 ps when the peak-to-peak jitter of the input clock is 12.9 ps. The area and power consumption of the implemented DLL are

Analysis of Threshold Voltage and DIBL Characteristics for Double Gate MOSFET Based on Scaling Theory

This paper has presented the analysis for threshold voltage and drain induced barrier lowering among short channel effects occurred in subthreshold region for double gate(DG) MOSFET as next-generation devices, based on scaling theory. To obtain the analytical solution of Poisson`s equation, Gaussian function has been used as carrier distribution to analyze closely for experimental results, and the threshold characteristics have been analyzed for device parameters such as channel thickness and doping concentration and projected range and standard projected deviation of Gaussian function. Since this potential model has been verified in the previous papers, we have used this model to analyze the threshold characteristics. As a result to apply scaling theory, we know the threshold voltage and drain induced barrier lowering are changed, and the deviation rate is changed for device parameters for DGMOSFET.
Comparative Analysis of PBTI Induced Device Degradation in Junctionless and Inversion Mode Multiple-Gate MOSFET

In this paper, a comparative analysis of PBTI induced device degradation in nanowire n-channel junctionless and inversion mode Multiple-Gate MOSFET(MuGFETs) has been performed. It has been observed that the threshold voltage is increased after PBTI stress and the threshold voltage variation of junctionless device is less significant than that of inversion mode device. However the degradation rate of junctionless device is less significant than that of inversion mode device. The activation energy of the device degradation is larger in inversion mode device than junctionless device. In order to analyze the more significant PBTI induced device degradation in inversion mode device than junctionless device, 3-dimensional device simulation has been performed. The electron concentration in inversion mode device is equal to the one in junctionless device but the electric field in inversion mode device is larger than junctionless device.
Design of UWB CMOS Low Noise Amplifier Using Inductor Peaking Technique

In this paper, a new circuit topology of an ultra-wideband (UWB) 3.1-10.6GHz CMOS low noise amplifier is presented. The proposed UWB low noise amplifier is designed utilizing RC feedback and LC filter networks which can provide good input impedance matching. In this design, the current-reused topology is adopted to reduce the power consumption and the inductor-peaking technique is applied for the purpose of bandwidth extension. The performance results of this UWB low noise amplifier simulated in
CMOS process technology exhibit a power gain of 14-14.9dB, an input matching of better than -10.8dB, gain flatness of 0.9dB, and a noise figure of 2.7-3.3dB in the frequency range of 3.1-10.6GHz. In addition, the input IP3 is -5dBm and the power consumption is 12.5mW.
Baseline Wander Removing Method Based on Morphological Filter for Efficient QRS Detection

QRS detection of ECG is the most popular and easy way to detect cardiac-disease. But it is difficult to analyze the ECG signal because of various noise types. The important problem in recording ECG signal is a baseline wandering, which is occurred by rhythm of respiration and muscle contraction attaching to an electrode. Particularly, in the healthcare system that must continuously monitor people`s situation, it is necessary to process ECG signal in realtime. In other words, the design of algorithm that exactly detects QRS region using minimal computation by analyzing the person`s physical condition and/or environment is needed. Therefore, baseline wander removing method based on morphological filter for efficient QRS detection method is presented in this paper. For this purpose, we detected QRS through the preprocessing method using morphological filter, adaptive threshold, and window. The signal distortion ratio of the proposed method is compared with other filtering method. Also, R wave detection is evaluated by using MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. Experiment result show that proposed method removes baseline wanders effectively without significant morphological distortion.
Graph Area Separation from A Sea Level Measurement Recording Image

The digitalization of sea level measurement recording which is recorded as analog type is useful for many related oceanology. In this paper, we propose a method which separates the graph area from a sea level measurement recording image. At first, a pixel that is regarded as the pixel which is included in the graph area is selected. Then, many background pixels are separated using the color of the selected pixel. In each vertical line, a pixel is determined as the pixel within the graph area and the graph area is separated from the image using that pixels. Experimental results show that the proposed method in this paper overcome drawbacks of the previous research and can separate the graph area which similar to the graph area of the original image.
Context-based Predictive Coding Scheme for Lossless Image Compression

This paper proposes a novel lossless image compression scheme composed of direction-adaptive prediction and context-based entropy coding. In the prediction stage, we analyze the directional property with respect to the current coding pixel and select an appropriate prediction pixel. In order to further reduce the prediction error, we propose a prediction error compensation technique based on the context model defined by the activities and directional properties of neighboring pixels. The proposed scheme applies a context-based Golomb-Rice coding as the entropy coding since the coding efficiency can be improved by using the conditional entropy from the viewpoint of the information theory. Experimental results indicate that the proposed lossless image compression scheme outperforms the low complexity and high efficient JPEG-LS in terms of the coding efficiency by 1.3% on average for various test images, specifically for the images with a remarkable direction the proposed scheme shows better results.
Improved recognition of 3D objects using nonlinear correlator based on direct pixel mapping in curving-effective integral imaging

Curved integral imaging is a simple method to display 3D images in space using lens array and provides wide viewing angle. In this paper, we propose a nonlinear 3D correlator based on the direct pixel-mapping (DPM) method in order to improve the recognition performance of 3D target object in curving-effective integral imaging. With this scheme, the elemental image array (EIA) originally picked up from a partially occluded 3-D target object can be converted into a resolution enhanced new EIA by using DPM method. Then, through nonlinear cross-correlations between the reconstructed reference and the target plane images, the improved pattern recognition can be performed from the correlation outputs. To show the feasibility of the proposed method, some preliminary experiments are carried out and results are presented by comparing the conventional method.
Power optimization of optical 40 wavelength division multiplexing channels at 3000 km transmission for link span variation

Optical power optimization of 10 Gbps 40 wavelength division multiplexing channels was analyzed at the 3000 km long-haul transmission distance when the link span distance was changed between 40 km and 140 km. The signal performance of the transmission was obtained as a Q value and it was compared when input power into SSMF and input power into DCF on the transmission link were changed. The optimized input power into SSMF increased linearly to link span distance with 1 dB/km. The optimized power into DCF increased linearly with 0.5 dB/km up to 100 km link span, but it had no variation at longer link span than 100 km.
A Study on Edge Detection using Grey-level Variation of Mask Image

The image processing has been applied to various fields along with development of visual media. The boundary parts in which brightness of image dramatically changes are important factors in order to analysis characteristics of image because edge contains important information and significant features. A number of researches for detecting these edges have been conducted and conventional edge detection methods using relationship between adjacent pixels are that operation speed is superior, but the edge detection characteristics are insufficient because they use fixed mask without considering gray-level variation. In this paper, the novel algorithm using grey-level variation of image in mask is proposed.
An Ontology-based Collaboration System for Service Interoperability

The development of collaboration among information systems in accordance with changes in enterprises` business environment brings about the problems of duplication of the existing business services and increase in costs of maintenance. Accordingly, Web service has been suggested as the standard of distributed computing to prevent the duplication of services within the same business domain and to attain the services that are already being utilized. But since the data needed for Web services are not standardized, it is difficult for the users to find services that meet diverse business purposes. In this paper, we construct an ontology-based collaboration system for service interoperability. The ontology can support fusion service by finding services which are existed interdependently under the distributed environment for collaboration processing. The role of the collaborative system includes development, registration and call of services based on ontology. A local systems request collaboration support through the service profile. Collaborative system supports the development of service using the service profiles, represents the semantic association between real data through system ontology, and infers relationship between instances contained in the services. Based on this, we applied the travel booking services for collaboration system. As a result, service can be managed effectively preventing collision in collaborative system, and we verify that the mapping between system is reduced.

Generally, SAW device, which uses Time Domain Sampling, requires high speed A/D converter because SAW device using TDS needs high sampling speed as much as its high data speed. However, the high price of A/D converter discourages makers from using it. On the other hand, SAW device, which uses Frequency Domain Sampling, does not required high speed A/D converter because SAW device using FDS does not need high sampling speed. It is very efficient in price comparison to its performance because high processing speed of SAW device using FDS can be implemented using low price Embedded Systems. The purpose of the paper is to solve the issues above by designing and realizing SAW device(FDS) using SAW sensor for TDS.
A Study of Optimal path Availability Clustering algorithm in Ad Hoc network

In this paper, we introduce a method that can be used to select the position of head node for context-awareness information. The validity of the head node optimal location is saving the energy in the path according to the clustering. It is important how to elect one of the relay node for energy efficiency routing. Existing LEACH algorithm to elect the head node when the node`s energy probability distribution function based on the management of the head node is optional cycle. However, in this case, the distance of the relay node status information including context-awareness parameters does not reflect. These factors are not suitable for the relay node or nodes are included in the probability distribution during the head node selects occurs. In particular, to solve the problems from the LEACH-based hierarchical clustering algorithms, this study defines location with the status context information and the residual energy factor in choosing topology of the structure adjacent nodes. The proposed ECOPS (Energy Conserving Optimal path Schedule) algorithm that contextual information is contributed for head node selection in topology protocols. This proposed algorithm has the head node replacement situations from the candidate head node in the optimal path and efficient energy conservation that is the path of the member nodes. The new head node election technique show improving the entire node lifetime and network in management the network from simulation results.
A Study on the Election of Cluster Alternative node for Energy-Efficient in Wireless Sensor Networks

One fundamental issue in ad hoc networks is the alternative node election problem, which reflects how well a sensor network is monitored or tracked by sensors. In this paper, we proposed EEAP(Energy-Efficient Alternative Paths). This is a method of selecting an alternative node for path routing management. When some node disconnection on the path routing, using pre-selected backup node provides immediately recover the path recovery. When selecting an alternative node of Step-Parents head node on the path management, the node`s energy level and distance information are cared in context-awareness. This is not only increased the system`s capacity cost effectively, but also reduce transmission power entire nodes consume energy. As a result, each node could efficiently management and improves the life time for mobile host and extends system coverage.
Effects of Static Magnetic Fields on Early Seed Germination and Radish Sprouts Growth

In order to prepare for weakening of the productivity of agriculture due to serious climate change, the researches on promoting the growth of plant are required. Although the method of using magnetic field for improving the growth of plant was introduced, the effective method of imposing the field on the plant have yet to be studied thoroughly in the literatures. In this paper, we investigated the effects of static magnetic field on the growth and the early seed germination of radish sprouts according to the strength, direction of excitation and the expose time of the magnetic field, and present the effective method of imposing magnetic fields. From the measurements, it was found that the radish sprouts exposed in the field shows a rapid germination of about 3~4 days than those which had no field, and in order to the effective growth, the strength of the magnetic field should be properly selected, and the excitation direction of magnetic field has little effect on the radish sprouts growth.

In location finding system using spaced multi-sensor, there is the phenomenon that the position estimation accuracy is degraded by the location of signal sources and the sensors. This phenomenon is called GDOP(Geometric Dilution Of Precision) effect. and to minimize these effects, research is needed on how. In this paper, I will describe how to minimize GDOP effect, estimating possibility of GDOP using AOA(angle of arrival) information of spaced multi sensors, and removing sensor error factor in position estimation.

In this paper, we developed and tested a program for prediction flash fire in a combat system. Purposes of the program are flash fire prediction of combat system for analysis vulnerability and survivability, and visualization for fire-related information. To do this, we defined critical components of the combat system which has probabilities of flash fire occurrence, and proposed Flash Fire Probability Tree which is based on Fault Tree Analysis(FTA). The program visualizes positions of critical components in combat system, positions of penetrated components, selected Flash Fire Probability Tree, temperature profile, and tables for properties of matters.
