Ultra Wideband Bandpsss Filter Design using the CRLH Transmission Line

A novel design method of ultra wideband based on the composite right-/left handed (CRLH) transmission line is presented in this paper. Defected ground structure and microstrip interdigital coupler are used to implement the CRLH transmission line. The proposed CRLH transmission line in this paper have composite characteristics of low pass filter and high pass filter, also it has good advantages of low insertion loss and ultra wide passband characteristics. The structure with different cell number are studied, and the UWB filter using 3-cell CRLH transmission line is fabricated and measured, which shows a good agreement between simulated and measured results. It has center frequency of 5 GHz, fractional bandwidth of 105 %, and insertion loss of 0.7 dB at center frequency.

Industrial machines have constraints on movement due to its wire for power supply. Recently, the research on wireless power supply for industrial machine which is required to move freely is receiving a lot of attention. In this paper, we suggest a magnetic induction system which can charge a equipment's battery with wireless at a close range. The system was designed to operate at 13.56 MHz and a distance of 20~30 mm between the transmitting and the receiving power module. From experiment, it was found that it takes about 135 minutes for charging the battery with about 15 V using the proposed system.
Design of Compact Series-fed Dipole Pair Antenna with End-loaded Rectangular Patches

In this paper, a design of a compact series-fed dipole pair(SDP) antenna with end-loaded rectangular patches is presented. In order to reduce the lateral size of a conventional SDP antenna, rectangular patches are end-loaded to the two dipole elements of the SDP antenna and a grooved ground plane is used by adding a patch at both ends of the ground plane. The effects of varying the length and width of the rectangular patches on the antenna performance such as input reflection coefficient are investigated. An optimized compact SDP antenna covering a frequency band ranging from 1.7 GHz to 2.7 GHz is designed and fabricated on an FR4 substrate. The total width of the fabricated prototype of the proposed antenna is reduced by approximately 14.3% compared to the conventional SDP antenna. Experimental results show that the antenna presents a 48.7% bandwidth in the range of 1.68-2.76 GHz and a stable gain of 5.6-6.0 dBi with minimal degradation. Moreover, a front-to-back ratio is improved by about 0.7 to 7.4 dB.

In this paper, parallel orthogonal matching pursuit (POMP) is proposed to supplement the simultaneous orthogonal matching pursuit (S-OMP) which has been widely used as a greedy algorithm for sparse signal recovery for multiple measurement vector (MMV) problem. The process of POMP is simple but effective: (1) multiple indexes maximally correlated with the observation vector are chosen at the first iteration, (2) the conventional S-OMP process is carried out in parallel for each selected index, (3) the index set which yields the minimum residual is selected for reconstructing the original sparse signal. Empirical simulations show that POMP for MMV outperforms than the conventional S-OMP both in terms of exact recovery ratio (ERR) and mean-squared error (MSE).
Outage Performance Study of Selective MIMO Transmission in Wireless Relaying Systems

In this paper, a selective multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) transmission scheme is proposed in dual-hop MIMO relaying systems, in which orthogonal space-time block code(OSTBC) transmission and transmit antenna selection(TxAS) transmission are selectively used. Assuming independent Rayleigh fading channels, the outage probability is analyzed for a decode-and-forward(DF) relaying system using the selective MIMO transmission scheme. Also, through numerical investigation, the outage performance for the DF relaying system using the selective MIMO transmission scheme is compared with that for the conventional DF relaying system using OSTBC or TxAS. Moreover, from the performance comparison, it is shown that the proposed scheme can reduce the system overhead without outage performance degradation.
Design and Manufacture of Modified Ring antenna with Stub and Ground Slot for WLAN Applications

In this paper, a dual-band circular ring monopole antenna with stub and ground slot for is proposed WLAN(Wireless Local Area Networks) applications. The proposed antenna is based on a planar monopole design, and composed of one circular ring of radiating patches, and modified feed line, and rectangular slot in the ground plane for dual-band operation. To obtain the optimized parameters, we used the simulator, Ansoft's High Frequency Structure Simulator(HFSS) and found the parameters that effect antenna characteristics. Using the obtained parameters, the antenna is fabricated, and the return loss coefficient, gain, and radiation patterns are determined for WLAN application.
Designing and Realizing the Ground Station Receiver Low Noise Amplifier of the Next-Generation Aeronautical Surveillance System

This article introduces the next-generation air surveillance system and investigates how to design of front-end low noise amplifier of the ground station receiver. In consideration of the international standard documentation and the performance of existing products, the study conducts the link budget on the entire system so that it can be competitive in terms of receive sensitivity or reliability. To obtain a proper low noise amplifier, standards of design are decided so that such factors as gain, gain flatness, and reflective loss can be optimal. In its design, the bias circuit appropriate for the characteristics of low power, low noise, or high gain was built, and according to the results of the simulation conducted after the optimal design, its gain was 16.24dB, noise factor was 0.36dB, input-output reflective loss was -18dB and -28dB each, and frequency stability was 1.11. According to the results measured after the design, its gain was 17dB, noise factor was 0.51dB, gain flatness was 0.23dB, and input-output reflective loss was -18.28dB and -24.50dB each, so the results gained were suitable for building the overall system.

Network Coding(NC) is a new paradigm for network communication. In network coding, intermediate nodes create new packets by algebraically combining ingress packets and send it to its neighbor node by broadcast manner. Network Coding has rapidly emerged as a major research area in information theory due to its wide applicability to communication through real networks. Network coding is expected to improve throughput and channel efficiency in the wireless multi-hop network. Prior researches have been carried out to employ network coding to wireless ad-hoc network. In our study, intermediate nodes identify one-hop bidirectional flows for network coding decision. We expect that the proposed scheme shall improve decoding success rate of network coded packet. From the simulation, the proposed network coding scheme achieved better performance in terms of coding gain and packet delivery rate than traditional network coding scheme.

An RFID middleware system that can process a large volume of RFID data became necessary with the advent of various kinds of ubiquitous services. In this paper, we propose a method to process massive RFID data and provide it to client applications based on ALE-compliant RFID middleware systems. To distribute the requests to collect and process the RFID data from clients, the proposed system gathers the resource information for RFID middleware systems and processes the requests from clients according to the information.

As smartphones have become widely used, topics of smartphone become a hot research subject in IT technologies. Many applications have been developed for the smartphone and the application market has become more and more increasing. However here are few studies or application developments on Korea's traditional games. In this paper we developed Korea's traditional board game Gonu. People who are young or old can play the game. We expect that many applications which related with Korean culture are developed on the smartphone environment.

These days, Rehabilitation psychology analysis system is being used by world wide web in everyday's life. And on the other hand, we are facing spam messages' problems. To block these spam message, we are using filtering or pricing systems. But these solutions are raising other problems such as impediment in reception or availability caused by false positive or payment resistance. To solve these problems, we propose an Indirect Model on Message Control System(IMMCS) which controls an unsolicited message and prevents an useful message from discarding. We design and implement the IMMCS to enhance the usefulness and the availability. Being tested the IMMCS to verify the usability and the efficiency, it gave us a very successful result.
A Probabilistic Approach for Robust Anonymous Authentication Protocol in VANETs

VANET(Vehicular Ad-hoc Network) is getting attention as an application to improve driver safety through inter-vehicle communication. For activation of VANET, privacy-preserving mutual authentication has to be guaranteed. In previous works, authors proposed various group-based authentication protocols. However, risks on ID exposure due to repeated use of group key and RSU(Road Side Unit) DoS attack were not considered. In this paper, we propose a probabilistic approach for robust anonymous authentication protocol. We evaluated our proposed method in a sets of criteria in VANET and verified it is an efficient solution for enhancing privacy.

Due to the development of ICT, with using hardwares such as WiFi, 3G and GPS and so on, smartphone could have provided a lot of applications with novel functions rapidly. Through such applications, lots of personal information such as personal location, personal images, and list of phone calls is created, saved and widely used. Because there is lots of leakage of the stored personal information due to loss of phone and application, privacy violation have been important issue nowadays. Smartphone with GPS and Internet provides location information. To protect the information, the technologies that only the authorized user can access it while inquiring the location information have been proposed. In this paper, to minimize the identification information for location information subject and information user and anonymize the identifiable information such as phone number, we proposed a model that can reduce the leakage of information and avoid the wrong usage of the stored information in the server. This technique will be used for protecting privacy when developing the application that provides routing service through location history information.
A Streaming XML Hardware Parser using a Tree with Failure Transition

Web-services employ an XML to represent data and an XML parser is needed to use data. The DOM(Document Object Model) is widely used to parse an XML, but it is not suitable for any systems with limited resources because it requires a preprocessing to create the DOM and additional memory space. In this paper, we propose the StreXTree(Streaming XML Tree) with failure transitions and without any preprocessing tasks in order to improve the system performance. Compared to other works, our StreXTree parser achieves 2.39x and 3.02x improvement in system performance in Search and RBStreX, respectively. In addition, our StreXTree parser supports Well-Formed checking to verify the syntax and structure of XML.
System Analysis Method Using Composition and Minimization

Since many man-made systems consist of autonomous and interactive components, it is intrinsically difficult to analyze their abnormal behavior. The logical analysis of such a system is an indispensable process for high quality and reliable system development. In this paper, we propose an analysis method using two algebraic operations, named composition and minimization. Repetitive composition and minimization of component models with respect to a set of important events produces a new analysis model that has the same input output responses to an environment. An analysis example of the alternating bit protocol demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method showing that each message generated at the sender side eventually arrives to a receiver.

Mobile Agent is an autonomous mobility technology is being applied in various fields. In particular, mobile agents execution in the Internet environment through the safe execution of the security must be guaranteed. Also, agent to run the agent, the agent's workload should be distributed. In this paper, a trust model based on the security mechanism of the agent execution is proposed. Proposed mechanism to ensure safe execution of the agent was not considered in existing relative researches for rational agent workload distribution and load balancing to improve throughput was. The proposed trust-based security mechanisms for agents to go through security analysis proved safe execution of the agent.
Location Management System of Moving Objects to Considering Location of Guardian based on WiFi Technology

LBS(Location Based System) usually uses GPS technology to measure the exact position of the moving object. However, the method of managing location which utilizes the WiFi technology of mobile phone has not been introduced so far. The method of managing moving objects in view of the location of guardian has also not been proposed. In this paper, a new location management system of moving objects which take guardian's location into consideration is proposed. Specifically, the three methods of searching for missing child proposed in this paper are as follows : 1) a method based on an app for smart phone, 2) a method based on control server, 3) a method based on control server and fixed APs. Because the proposed system reflects the location of the guardian, the guardian is able to identify the state of child immediately and the workload can be reduced.

In this paper, an IRD (internal read data) circuit preventing the reentry into the read mode while keeping the read-out DOUT datum at power-up even if noise such as glitches occurs at signal ports such as an input signal port RD (read) when a power IC is on, is proposed. An active-RC channel selection filter (CSF) with the bandwidth of 40MHz and the improved linearity is proposed in this paper. The proposed CSF is the fifth butterworth filter which consists of a first order low pass filter, two second order low pass filters of a biquad architecture, and DC feedback circuit for cancellation of DC offset. To improve the linearity of the CSF, a body node of a MOSFET for a switch is connected to its source node. The bandwidth of the designed CSF is selected to be 10MHz, 20MHz and 40MHz and its voltage gain is controlled by 6 dB from 0 dB to 24 dB. The proposed CSF is designed by using 40nm 1-poly 8-metal CMOS process with a 1.2V. This paper has analyzed the change of forward and backward current for channel doping concentration to analyze off-current of double gate(DG) MOSFET. The Gaussian function as channel doping distribution has been used to compare with experimental ones, and the two dimensional analytical potential distribution model derived from Poisson's equation has been used to analyze the off-current. The off-current has been analyzed for the change of projected range and standard projected range of Gaussian function with device parameters such as channel length, channel thickness, gate oxide thickness and channel doping concentration. As a result, this research shows the off-current has greatly influenced on forward and backward current for device parameters, especially for the shape of Gaussian function for channel doping concentration.
121.15MHz Frequency Synthesizers using Multi-phase DLL-based Phase Selector and Fractional-N PLL

Two frequency synthesizers are proposed to generate a clock for a sub-sampler of an on-chip oscilloscope in this paper. These proposed frequency synthesizers are designed by using a multi-phase delayed-locked loop (DLL)-based phase selector and a fractional-N phase-locked loop (PLL), and they are analyzed by comparing simulation results of each frequency synthesizer. Two proposed frequency synthesizers are designed using a 65-nm CMOS process with a 1V supply and output the clock with the frequency of 121.15 MHz when the frequency of an input clock is 125 MHz. The designed frequency synthesizer using a multi-phase DLL-based phase selector has the area of 0.167
and the peak-to-peak jitter performance of 2.88 ps when it consumes the power of 4.75 mW. The designed frequency synthesizer using a fractional-N PLL has the area of 0.662
and the peak-to-peak jitter performance of 7.2 ps when it consumes the power of 1.16 mW.
Improved MOG Algorithm for Periodic Background

In a conventional MOG algorithm, a small threshold for background decision causes the background recognition delay in a periodic background and a large threshold makes it recognize passing objects as background in a stationary background. This paper proposes the improved MOG algorithm using adaptive threshold. The proposed algorithm estimates changes of weight in the dominant model of the MOG algorithm both in the short and long terms, classifies backgrounds into the stationary and periodic ones, and assigns proper thresholds to them. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm decreases the maximum number of frame in background recognition delay from 137 to 4 in the periodic background keeping the equal performance with the conventional algorithm in the stationary background.

This paper presents an shifted linear interpolation method with an image-dependent parameter. The previous shifted linear interpolation proposed the optimal shift parameter of 0.21, which is calculated by spectrum analysis of the shifted linear interpolation kernel. However, the parameter can be different if we takes an input image spectrum into account. Thus, we introduce an image-dependent parameter. An experiment shows the best shift parameter is 0.19 in average for real images. Also, simulation results indicate the proposed method is superior to the existing shifted linear interpolation as well as conventional methods such as linear interpolation and cubic convolution interpolation in terms of the subjective and objective image quality.

The paper presents a procedure for how to development and theoretical review on Dissolved Gas Analyzer. the information of abnormal thermal stress on electrical power equipment by testing the gas is validated to easy by the gas analyzer presented in the paper. the analyzed information is used to evaluate the stability of electrical power equipment. the existing and selling DGA(dissolved gas analyzer) is so expensive and vast that all DGA product comes from foreign country. The objective of the paper is to prove that PAS(photoacoustic spectroscopy) based on a compact portable DGA solve the fixed type of DGA in order to eliminate the occurring issue directly or indirectly. the proposed DGA is easy to handle, and this can also analysis in real time for testing electrical power equipment. By applying the proposed portable, DGA be utilized in the currently electrical power equipment that are being implemented to reduce cycle of analysis of dissolved gas, it can contribute to improving safety by providing the agility of the evaluation of degradation.

Recently, SNS (Social Network Service) such as Twitter and Facebook has grown dramatically because of smart phones. Since development of IT has created massive information, social big data extremely increased. Competition between corporations is getting more intense, so they need customer feedback in order to fulfill an effective management. Because social big data plays an important role for getting customer feedback, a lot of corporations are interested in analyzing and applying of social big data. Collecting and analyzing social big data is operated by Buzz monitoring system. This paper demonstrates the research of buzz monitoring system that analyzes big data, and presents examples of customer reputation using buzz monitoring. In the paper, after all, it would analyze the result from the customer reputation, and research the implication.
An Image Restoration using Nonlinear Filter in Mixed Noise Environment

The digital images are being degraded by noise in the process of acquisition, storage and transmission, Gaussian or impulse noise is the representative noise. Meanwhile, the image has lots of tendency to be degraded by complex noise, so various researches are being conducted for reducing these complex noise. In this paper, to remove complex noise, the algorithm processed by modified switching median filter and modified adaptive weighted filter according to the result after judging the kinds of noise is proposed. In the simulation result, excellent denoising capabilities. Furthermore, we compared proposed algorithm with existing methods for objective judgement, and PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio) is used by the criterion of judgement.
A Study on the Estimation Model of the Proper Cargo Handling Capacity based on Simulation in Port - Port Cargo Exclusive Pier Example -

So far, the port cargo handling capacity of general cargo was computed using simple formulae based on mathematical models. However, this simple calculation could not be able to reflect the reality. Thus, the simulation method was applied in this paper to overcome the limitation that the calculation method used in the past studies has. The process occurring from arrival to departure of a ship, which is reflecting the process rules of berth, was modeled to estimate the optimum level of handling capacity by using an example of the loading and unloading of an appropriated wharf at the harbor, and simulation was performed by developing the prototype. The actual processing capability of Mukho port was compared to the estimated capability calculated using the simulation method and the optimum level of capability could be computed by repeatedly simulating the input variable condition of the simulation prototype.
The Influence of Hydrogen Loading on Radiation Sensitivity of Fiber Bragg Gratings

This paper investigates the influence of hydrogen loading process on the radiation sensitivity of fiber Bragg gratings (FBG). We made the FBG inscribed in the same commercial Ge-doped fiber with different hydrogen loading periods. We measured the Bragg wavelength shift (BWS) of the FBG exposed to gamma-radiation up to a dose of 18 kGy, and evaluated the change of full width at half maximum (FWHM) and the FBG temperature sensitivity coefficient after irradiation. Varying hydrogen loading parameter led to BWS differences up to nearly a factor of two.
Comparison of Post-dispersion Compensation Methods for Optical 40 Wavelength Division Multiplexing Channels at 3000km Transmission

Post-dispersion compensation methods for the 3000 km long-haul transmission distance using 10 Gbps 40 wavelength division multiplexing channels were analyzed and compared. First, each channel was compensated by an individual dispersion value, next each group of eight channels by an individual value, and lastly all forty channels by a single value. Considering the lower and highest performance channels and their values, the post-dispersion compensation method by each channel group showed the possibility to simplify the transmission system without sacrifice of signal performance.

The recently developed military system adopts System Engineering for quality insurance. The process of military system's development basically adopts specification(MIL-STD-499) and system engineering(ISO/IEC 15288) that was developed by America. Recently the level of company's capability maturity is granted by measurement and assessment for the level of CMM or CMMI that was developed by Carnegie Mellon University. This article introduces adopted range of process that developed military system adopted additional process of CMMI. This article writes a merit of process for military system's output that is developing device adopted diverse process.
