The Effect of R&D Investment on the Export in the IT Industry

Authorities of the major industrialized countries infer that technological advances have a greater contribution to economic growth compared to traditional factors of production such as labor and capital and are actively pursuing investment in research and development. We have examined quantitatively the effect of R & D investment on exports in the IT sector in this study. Based on that results, how much of R & D investment in the IT sector should be made in order to reach trade surplus of two trillion dollars, which Korea government has aimed in 2020, is also to be analyzed.
2D Finite Difference Time Domain Method Using the Domain Decomposition Method

In this paper, two-dimensional(2-D) Finite Difference Time Domain(FDTD) method using the domain decomposition method is proposed. We calculated the electromagnetic scattering field of a two dimensional rectangular Perfect Electric Conductor(PEC) structure using the 2-D FDTD method with Schur complement method as a domain decomposition method. Four domain decomposition and eight domain decomposition are applied for the analysis of the proposed structure. To validate the simulation results, the general 2-D FDTD algorithm for the total domain are applied to the same structure and the results show good agreement with the 2-D FDTD using the domain decomposition method.
The generation and characteristics of the dominant field in CTL cell

CTL cell that is one of the standard electromagnetic generation equipment can measure the characteristic of the electromagnetic susceptibility and the electromagnetic interference. In case of being input the same magnitude signal with the phase difference of 0o or the phase difference of 180o at two input ports of CTL cell to be the fundamental resonant frequency(TE011) of 2.20GHz, the characteristics of the electric field and the magnetic field at the uniform area were measured. And, it measured the electric field characteristic due to the variation of the input power, the test position and the input frequency under the dominant E-field and the dominant H-field of CTL cell. Using these mesuremed data, it examined the operation characteristic and the available frequency band of CTL cell.
Musical Score Recognition with SOM and Enhanced ART-1

In this paper, we propose a Musical Score Recognition with SOM and Enhanced ART-1 Algorithm. First, we apply Hough transform and Otsu`s binarization to the original BMP format image and extract notes from separated passages by histogram analysis with removing staff lines. Then extracted musical notes are normalized to same size by SOM algorithm and ART-1 algorithm plays the learning and recognition role. The experiment verifies that the proposed method is quite effective on printed musical score recognition.
Robot Navigation Control using Laserscanner to Restrict Human Movement

In this research, we describe a security robot system and ongoing research results to control human`s wrong direction in order to forbid human to enter security zone. Proposed robot system surveils a security area with equipped laserscanner sensor usually. When it detect walking human who is for the area, robot calculates his velocity vector, plans own path to forestall and interrupts him who want to head restricted area and starts to move along the estimated trajectory. The walking human is assumed to be a point-object and projected onto an scanning plane to form a geometrical constraint equation that provides position data of the human based on the kinematics of the mobile robot. While moving the robot continues these processes for adapting change of situation. After arriving at an opposite position human`s walking direction, the robot advises him not to be headed more and change his course. The experimental results of estimating and tracking of the human in the wrong direction with the mobile robot are presented.
Distribution of the Slopes of Autocovariances of Speech Signals in Frequency Bands

The frequency bands were discovered which maximize the slopes of autocovariances of speech signals in frequency domain to increase the possibility of segregation between speech signals and background noise signal. A speech signal is divided into blocks which include multiples of sampled data, then those blocks are transformed to frequency domain using Fast Fourier Transform(FFT). To find linear equation by Linear Regression, the coefficients of autocovariance within blocks of some frequency band are used. The slope of the linear equation which is called the slope of autocovariance is varied from band to band according to the characteristics of the speech signal. Using speech signals of a man which consist of 200 files, the coefficients of the slopes of autocovariances are analyzed and compared from band to band.

Detection and classification of undersea mines in shallow waters using active sonar returns is a difficult task due to complexity of underwater environment. Support vector machine(SVM) is a binary classifier that is well known to provide a global optimum solution. In this paper, classification experiments of sonar returns from mine-like objects and non-mine-like objects are carried out using the SVM, and classification performance is analyzed and presented with discussions depending on parameter values of SVM kernel functions.

In this study, we propose how th implement a MDDI(Mobile Display Digital Interface) protocol packet generation method in software. MDDI protocol is widely used in mobile display device. MDDI protocol packets are generated by software within micro processor. This method needs the minimum hardware configuration. In order to implementation of this method, we design a hardware platform with a high performance microprocessor and a FPGA. The packets generated by software within microprocessor are converted into LVDS signals, and transmitted by hardware within FPGA. This study suggests the benefits of the way how software can easily create a variety of packet. But, this proposed method takes more time in packet transmission compared to the traditional method. This weakness remains as a future challenge, which can be soon improved.

Carbon dioxide is a major cause for which accelerates Global Warming. Therefore several countries are working on the project recommended to use a bicycle instead of the car when you move to the nearby destination in an effort to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide. In this paper, It was developed to measure the greenhouse gas reduction using Bluetooth Sensor Node by riding a bicycle instead of a car and management system in order to authenticate the riding record. The developed application provides various information such as individual bicycle mileage, greenhouse gas reductions, bicycle riding path, the number of planted ginkgo trees. This proposed system is expected to be helpful to green house gas emission reduction because the usage rate of bicycle will increase if government combine ways to offer people rewards such as pin money or tax breaks for people who take advantage of the bicycle with the project.

Due to underutilization of spectrum under the current static spectrum management policy, various kinds of dynamic spectrum access strategies have appeared. Myopic policy is a simple policy with reduced complexity that maximizes the immediate throughput. In this paper, the distribution of its medium access delay is evaluated under saturation traffic conditions. Using the distribution of the medium access delay, we also evaluate its system delay under non-saturated traffic conditions.

Microsoft released motion sensing device named Kinnect on early 2010, which is available for developing Xbox 360 game and entertainment software. Also many third party libraries and applications are developed for Kinnect. In this paper, we studied and developed guitar rhythm game on Kinnect using three sensor units on it. Rhythm game is the most popular game genre for many game devices including PC, console device, and smart phone. The main reasons for their popularity depends on their simplicity, short learning time and physical activity with rhythms. We developed the game screen and layout on DirectX 11, also we used OpenNI library for recognize physical activity of gamer`s body and fingers, and OpenGL for body gestures on the game.

A Study on High Speed Face Tracking using the GPGPU-based Depth Information

In this paper, we propose an algorithm to detect and track the human face with a GPU-based high speed. Basically the detection algorithm uses the existing Adaboost algorithm but the search area is dramatically reduced by detecting movement and skin color region. Differently from detection process, tracking algorithm uses only depth information. Basically it uses a template matching method such that it searches a matched block to the template. Also, In order to fast track the face, it was computed in parallel using GPU about the template matching. Experimental results show that the GPU speed when compared with the CPU has been increased to up to 49 times.

A Dynamic Service Library Reconfiguration Method of Android Platform

Android mobile platform copy the class files of all applications installed in android platform and keep them into one directory. But to add the service library into a platform, Android must generate a new binary image of platform and replace the platform because android refer the libraries using the memory-mapped file method in a directory. And this memory-mapped file reference method waste the storage space of mobile device because that directory include the duplicated libraries if the libraries refered by application are duplicated, Therefore a dynamic reconfiguration method on android mobile platform is needed to manage the service libraries of application executed on android platform and support the version management and function addition/modification. In this paper, we propose the platform dynamic reconfiguration method to add dynmically the service libraries on android platform.
Epidemics of Wireless Mobile Worms on Smartphones

Now we are facing various threats as side effects against the growth of smartphone markets. Malicious codes such as mobile worms may bring about disclosures of personal information and confusions to upset a national wireless backbone. In this paper, we examine the existed spreading models and try to describe the correct spread of mobile worms on smartphones. We also analyze the spreading effects, and simulate bluetooth, MMS and Wi-Fi worms by various experiments.

Web based simulation service is utilized to computationally analyze various phenomena in real world according to the progress of network and computing technology. In this paper, we present an improvement and utilization of e-AIRS (e-Science Aerospace Integrated Research System). e-AIRS, has been utilized to support web based CFD simulation service since 2008. has some problems such as stable system, pre processing, post processing. To solver this problem, we improved e-AIRS such as distributed service processing, personal simulation job assignment control, and faster data loading. After improvement, although users increase from 110 to 606, the priority of user requirements is changed from stable system to pre/post processor. User requirements and statistics about e-AIRS simulation service for each semester is analyzed to support more stable and comfortable service.

This paper proposes a new visualization method based on cloud technique which uses internal relationship of user correlation and external relation of social network to visualize user relationship hierarchy. The visualization method of this paper can well represent user-focused relationship hierarchy on social networks by a correlation matrix. The importance of a access node reflects into user relationship hierarchy by exploiting external relation of social network. Users of the method can well understand user relationships on account of representing user relationship hierarchy from social networks. In addition, the method use hadoop and hive for distribution storing and parallel processing which the result of calculation visualizes hierarchy graph using D3.

In recent years, there are many awareness and demand for digital convergence of the future. In information technology, especially, convergence with other studies such as regional studies, literature and humanities should be needed because information technology is closely related to real life. Culture atlas represents various aspects related to culture visually using points, arcs, and more in the map. Thus, it should be an available tool to survey cultures efficiently in digital environments. For oversea region study, especially Mediterranean region research, we suggest the way to apply electronic culture atlas in this paper. In detail, design and implementation a study on Electronic Culture Atlas for overseas area. Research results for oversea regional studies can be expressed visually by utilizing digital culture map implemented in this paper. Therefore, digital culture atlas should be used as convergence media between information technology and other studies such as regional studies, humanities and so on, tools for oversea regional studies, and exhibition of research results.
Development of Wire-Wireless Integrated Web Messenger for Communication of users in a Multi-Organization

Mobile network has become an essential tool for mutual communications, so a survey research published that most of the smartphone users use Mobile Instant Messenger every day. In this paper, we developed a wire-wireless integrated web messenger that can be used in various platform of mobile devices and desktop computer for communicating between users of some companies. We defined a multi-organization as several independent companies. Our web messenger was developed for communicating of users of a multi-organization. So one of functions of our web messenger is to restrict access to some particular departments in each company for the security of their company. Developed web messenger worked reliably from variety of web browsers on most of platforms such as android, iOs and desktop computers.
A Study on the New Maximum Power Point Tracking and Current Ripple Reduction of Solar Cell for the Grid-connected PV Inverter

Photovoltaic inverters should always track the maximum power of solar cell arrays in operation. Also, they should be irrespective of the maximum power point voltage of a wide range of solar cells in tracking the maximum power point. If the current ripple of solar cells occurs, the function of maximum power point tracking drops, and normal tracking is difficult when solar radiation or the maximum power point changes. To solve this problem, this paper proposed a new maximum power point tracking algorithm with high efficiency and an algorithm to reduce the current ripple of solar cells. According to the results from the test on 4KW grid-connected PV inverter, the efficiency of maximum power point tracking and inverter output and the total harmonic distortion of inverter output current showed 99.97%, 97.5% and 1.05% respectively. So, the inverter showed excellent performance, and made possible stable maximum power point tracking operation when the solar radiation rapidly changed from 100% to 10% and from 10% to 100% for 0.5 seconds.
Analysis of Breakdown Voltages of Double Gate MOSFET Using 2D Potential Model

This paper have analyzed the change of breakdown voltage for channel doping concentration and device parameters of double gate(DG) MOSFET using two dimensional potential model. The low breakdown voltage becomes the obstacle of power device operation, and breakdown voltage decreases seriously by the short channel effects derived from scaled down device in the case of DGMOSFET. The two dimensional analytical potential distribution derived from Poisson`s equation have been used to analyze the breakdown voltage for device parameters such as channel length, channel thickness, gate oxide thickness and channel doping concentration. Resultly, we could observe the breakdown voltage has greatly influenced on device dimensional parameters as well as channel doping concentration, especially the shape of Gaussian function used as channel doping concentration.
An Intra Prediction Hardware Architecture Design for Computational Complexity Reduction of HEVC Decoder

In this paper, an intra prediction hardware architecture is proposed to reduce computational complexity of intra prediction in HEVC decoder. The architecture uses shared operation units and common operation units and adopts a fast smoothing decision algorithm and a fast algorithm to generate coefficients of a filter. The shared operation unit shares adders processing common equations to remove the computational redundancy. The unit computes an average value in DC mode for reducing the number of execution cycles in DC mode. In order to reduce operation units, the common operation unit uses one operation unit generating predicted pixels and filtered pixels in all prediction modes. In order to reduce processing time and operators, the decision algorithm uses only bit-comparators and the fast algorithm uses LUT instead of multiplication operators. The proposed architecture using four shared operation units and eight common operation units which can reduce execution cycles of intra prediction. The architecture is synthesized using TSMC 0.13um CMOS technology. The gate count and the maximum operating frequency are 40.5k and 164MHz, respectively. As the result of measuring the performance of the proposed architecture using the extracted data from HM 7.1, the execution cycle of the architecture is about 93.7% less than the previous design.
The electrical and optical properties of the Ga-doped ZnO thin films grown on transparent sapphire substrate

In this study, Ga-doped ZnO (GZO) thin films were fabricated on transparent sapphire substrate by RF magnetron sputtering method and then investigated the effect of various substrate temperature on the electrical, optical properties and characteristic of crystallization of the GZO thin films. A study on the continuous intention to use for Smartphone based on the innovation diffusion theory: Considered on the loyalty between users of iOS and Android platform

The purpose of this study was aimed to analyze factors affecting on continuous intention to use of Smartphone based on the innovation diffusion theory. Also, by using the demographic characteristics were compared whether the difference in the loyalty on between user group of iOS and Android platform. Predictor factors were selected innovation, convenience, economic cost, social influence, communication channel, compatibility and complexity suggested on the innovation diffusion theory. Participants of this study were 278 Smartphone users in Busan city and Gyeongnam province in accordance with convenience sampling. IBM SPSS Statistics 19 were employed for descriptive statistics, Smart PLS(partial least squares) was employed for confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis of casual relationship among variables and effect. Analytical results show that all paths except path from complexity to the continuous intention to use and loyalty are significant. The comparison loyalty on between user group of iOS and android platform are significant. This study suggests practical and theoretical implications based on the results.
An Improved Weighted Filter for AWGN Removal

Recently, the expectation of quality about images over the increasing demand of digital devices is increasing with the development of the technology of the digital. But the images are degraded by a variety of causes, and the main reason is the noises. Therefore, the necessity of denoising comes to the fore, and the research for denoising is progressing dynamically. The images are mainly degraded by AWGN(additive white Gaussian noise), and the characteristics of denoising of existing methods such as mean filter are insufficient. In this paper, an algorithm combined by the spatial weighted filter and the modified adaptive weighted filter is proposed in order to effectively remove the AWGN. In the simulation result, the proposed algorithm showed excellent denoising capabilities.

In the field of clinical medicine and research, the analysis of such as protein and DNA at the molecular level and even at the cell level are necessary for disease diagnosis and treatment. In many cases, a real time image of samples is needed for the accurate analysis and manipulation of samples since experimental samples are degenerated with time. In this research, a three-dimensional fluorescence microscope device was developed for taking images of protein and DNA inside a single cell and the server-client based image analysis system was made for an integrated management of the real-time images taken from the microscope device. The system consists of a fluorescent measurement device, the associated software and a client program on smartphone. The developed system allows doctors or experimental managers to receive and look at the real-time experimental images taken from the samples of patients anywhere in the emergency, to analyze results and to instantly diagnose the disease and to transfer the results to the patients. As a result, the system is able to be utilized in the implementation of ubiquitous health as well.
Data Encryption Technique for Depth-map Contents Security in DWT domain

As the usage of digital image contents increase, a security problem for the payed image data or the ones requiring confidentiality is raised. This paper propose a depth-map image contents encryption methodology to hide the depth information. This method is performed on the frequency coefficients in the Wavelet domain. This method, by selecting the level and threshold value for the wavelet transform, encryption at various strengths are possible. The experimental results showed that encrypting only 0.048% of the entire data was enough to hide the constants of the depth-map. The encryption algorithm expected to be used effectively on the researches on encryption and others for image processing.

This Paper deals with detection and defense methods for underwater weapons because there are so many dangers of underwater weapons not only in the war period but also in the peace time. Underwater mines are the representative strategic arms. The sensors and target detection methods, threat elimination method of mines included in this paper. Among the various sensors of mine, we use the magnetometor for target detection method in the simulation and execute the analysis of magnetic field of detected target ships. It will be also provided that effectiveness of target detection, sweeping method of mine, tactics of mine planning and mine sweeping and so on.
