UWB Circular Loop Antenna with Circular Sectors

In this paper, a wideband loop antenna for UWB applications is studied. The structure of the proposed wideband loop antenna is a circular loop antenna with appended circular sectors to obtain an ultra-wideband characteristic. The circular sectors are used instead of conventional triangular sectors to match with the 50 ohm feed line. Optimal design parameters are obtained by analyzing the effects of the gap between the circular sectors and the radius of the circular loop on the input reflection coefficient and gain characteristics. The optimized wideband loop antenna is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with a dimension of 41 mm by 41 mm. Experiment results show that the proposed antenna has a frequency band of 3.1-11.0 GHz for a VSWR < 2.25, which assures the operation in the UWB band. Measured gain ranges 1.3-5.3 dBi in the UWB band.

The antenna miniaturization technique involves the increment of the electrical length of the resonator the variation of the physical appearance of the antenna. The most typical method of size reduction is designing helical antenna, meander antenna, and fractal antenna. Size reduction using fractal antenna is proposed in this paper. Fractal koch curve has been etched in microstrip patch antenna to downsize the antenna at ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) frequency band of 2.45 GHz koch curve microstrip patch antenna ha FR4 epoxy substrate with dielectric constant 4.7, loss tangent equal to 0.02 and dielectric high of 1.6 mm. Off-line Handwritten Flowchart Symbol Recognition Algorithm Robust to Variations Based the Normalized Dominant Slope Vector

This paper proposes the off-line handwritten flowchart symbol recognition algorithm by type and strength of a cross region of the straight line strokes that is extracted based the normalized dominant slope vectors. In the proposed algorithm, first of all, a connector symbol which consisted only curves is recognized by the special features, and the other symbols with straight line strokes are recognized by type and strength of a cross region, and that is extracted by extension of minimum bounding rectangle of the clusters of the normalized dominant slope vectors, and the straight line strokes of the symbols is extracted by the normalized dominant slope vectors. To confirm the validity of the proposed algorithm, the experiments are conducted for 10 different kinds of flowchart symbols that mainly used for computer program, and the number of symbols is 198. Experiment results were obtained the recognition rate of 99.5%, and the flowchart symbols is recognized correctly robust to variations, and then the proposed algorithm were found very effective for off-line handwritten flowchart symbol recognition.
Performance Analysis of Multiple Access Protocol for Maritime VHF Data Exchange System (VDES)

New VHF band for use in VDE is determined by WRC-12 due to the overload of AIS VDL, and the system characteristics of the VDE is recommended as ITU-R M. 1842-1. CS-TDMA, a multiple access method of AIS class B, is recommended as that of the VDE. It is inefficient for CS-TDMA just applying the report interval used in AIS class B to transmit high speed data with higher payload in the aspect of efficiency. In this paper, a simulation is executed in order to determine adequate report interval according to the number of active ships that affects directly network traffic. To this end, the performance of CS-TDMA, which includes the number of received packets, reception success rate, channel utilization, and collision rate, is investigated via a simulation.
Vertical Handover Framework for Maritime Multi-band Networks

It is necessary for maritime multi-band networks, which provide ships with diverse and seamless multimedia services, to perform vertical handover. As IEEE 802.21 WG has standardized vertical handover technologies for terrestrial wireless networks that do not consider VHF, HF, satellite networks, they cannot be directly applied to maritime multi-band networks. In this paper, the vertical handover framework for use in maritime mutlti-band networks is proposed, which includes the logical architecture, the communication reference model, re-defined handover primitives, and the handover process. The proposed vertical handover for maritime multi-band network can be applied in the ocean alone, as well as to the heterogeneous wireless networks which embrace both terrestrial and maritime networks.

IR-UWB has been developed as a standard of indoor ranging technology, because it has robust and good transmission characteristics in indoor environments and it can be operated with low power. In this paper, a IR-UWB packet analyzer is designed and implemented based on IEEE 802.15.4a, which is useful in developing IR-UWB real time location system with resolution of a few ten centimeters. A sniffer device of the packet analyzer monitors IR-UWB wireless networks, captures MAC packet frames, and transmits packet frames to the packet analyzing computer. The packet analyzing program in a computer analyzes received MAC packet frames and displays parsed packet information for developing engineers. Developed packet analyzer is used to analyze IEEE 802.15.4a MAC protocol, and also it can be used in other IEEE 802 series MAC protocol by modifying some functions.

We suggest various supporting methods for seamless services to support the stable service of system and network. As a representative, the redundancy is the duplication for supporting the stable service of the system and networks. The various redundancy systems have been proposed, these may have a variety forms depending on the number of the service supporting systems. We analyze a availability of a various redundancy model about a redundancy systems. We use a SRN based SPNP as an analysis tool. In this paper, we explain a various redundancy models, then compare and analyze the availability of redundancy models according to a number of service units.

Real-time communication and diversification of multimedia application services using high-capacity data over the Internet demand high speed connection, and real-time and high-speed access internet service such as multimedia make Internet traffic increase rapidly. Meanwhile, QoS (Quality of Service) of internet service is not satisfied. In this situation, ISP (Internet Service Provider) has been required to improve service quality and extend network according to the user's needs. The Smishing attacks are caused using smartphone since 2013. Smishing hacking attacks are increasing due to the approximately 104 million private information leakage incidents by the 3 domestic credit card companies occurred in January 2014. The Smishing attack occurred in conjunction with hacking illegal leakage of personal information and direct financial damage. In this paper, i am analyze real-world case studies in the lab and study accident on Smishing Mobile Forensic analysis. I am study of a real case Smishing hacking attacks. And studying evidence for a Mobile Forensic analysis of the technical principles of Smishing attacks. The study for the Mobile Forensic evidence proved the Smishing hacking attacks using Mobile Forensic technic and create Mobile Forensic reports. Constructing a Support Vector Machine for Localization on a Low-End Cluster Sensor Network

Localization of a sensor network node using machine learning has been recently studied. It is easy for Support vector machines algorithm to implement in high level language enabling parallelism. Raspberrypi is a linux system which can be used as a sensor node. Pi can be used to construct IP based Hadoop clusters. In this paper, we realized Support vector machine using python language and built a sensor network cluster with 5 Pi's. We also established a Hadoop software framework to employ MapReduce mechanism. In our experiment, we implemented the test sensor network with a variety of parameters and examined based on proficiency, resource evaluation, and processing time. The experimentation showed that with more execution power and memory volume, Pi could be appropriate for a member node of the cluster, accomplishing precise classification for sensor localization using machine learning.
Input Data Synchronization Scheme Based on Redundancy for IMA System

It is feasible to develop a fault tolerant system through module level redundancy on the Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA). However, its great implementation complexity is one of important challenges when asynchronous hardware environment is naturally assumed. To solve this problem, Physically Asynchronous Logically Synchronous (PALS) on IMA has been proposed. But, it has adaptation problem by not addressing specific architecture for IMA system. In the paper, we propose how to synchronize the input data on the IMA system under primary/secondary redundancy architecture by referring to existing PALS. In the proposed scheme, we introduce window frame by considering rate monotonic scheduling and analyze the adequate the synchronization time. Finally, we verify the feasibility of the proposed design pattern through the systematic experiments.
Secure Keypad with Encrypted Input Message

In this paper, we present method that verifies the validity of inputted message rather than showing last character on virtual keyboard. This encrypts password and valid input only can receive right feedback. This is implemented on Android phone and tested. This shows higher security than former method by 68.23% and accuracy shows 100%. This secure keypad is practical and secure so this can replace current input keypad without difficulty.
A Study on the Virtual Switch Implementation and Comparison for Smart Node Platform

Nowadays, most Internet servers run on virtual a network which connects each virtual machine, to process large amounts of data on single physical computer. The virtual machines for their own purposes are interconnected to other virtual server systems with various types of operating systems. Each virtual server may share one physical computer resources and operates at a service seamlessly to each other. Sometimes even the virtual machines are implemented using a method that lease the physical IT resources without purchasing physical server. Therefore, a virtual switch is needed to improve the performance when a large number of virtual machines operate on physical server. In this study, the implementation and investigation was performed for the virtual switches, OpenvSwitch and DPDKvSwitch, in order to provide the necessary high-performance cloud services to creative business.
Efficient Nearest Neighbor Search on Moving Object Trajectories

Because of the rapid growth of mobile communication and wireless communication, Location-based services are handled in many applications. So, the management and analysis of spatio-temporal data are a hot issue in database research. Index structure and query processing of such contents are very important for these applications. This paper addressees algorithms that make index structure by using Douglas-Peucker Algorithm and process nearest neighbor search query efficiently on moving objects trajectories. We compare and analyze our algorithms by experiments. Our algorithms make small size of index structure and process the query more efficiently.
Generic User Interface Model for Multi-Platform

Smart Phone market consists of several platforms such as Windows Phone, Apple iOS and Android of Google. Each platform uses different coding style respectively. Platform-dependent application results in high cost and low code reusability during development of application. It also provides heterogeneous display forms to users. In this paper, we propose a platform-independent generic interface model that could be operated in both the various smart phones and PC. Because the proposed model provides the same UI on multiple platforms, users can operate applications without awkwardness. The model includes a module which copes with the changes of the resolutions in various platforms and a module which switches scenes of each application for performance improvement. Moreover, a module which connects DB is also proposed in order to overcome the difference of way to store data in each platform. The implementation results show that the difference of display and operating manner in any hetero-platform is eliminated.

Analysis of Threshold Voltage for Symmetric and Asymmetric Oxide Structure of Double Gate MOSFET

This paper has analyzed the change of threshold voltage for oxide structure of symmetric and asymmetric double gate(DG) MOSFET. The asymmetric DGMOSFET can be fabricated with different top and bottom gate oxide thickness, while the symmetric DGMOSFET has the same top and bottom gate oxide thickness. Therefore optimum threshold voltage is considered for top and bottom gate oxide thickness of asymmetric DGMOSFET, compared with the threshold voltage of symmetric DGMOSFET. To obtain the threshold voltage, the analytical potential distribution is derived from Possion's equation, and Gaussian distribution function is used as doping profile. We investigate for bottom gate voltage, channel length and thickness, and doping concentration how top and bottom gate oxide thickness influences on threshold voltage using this threshold voltage model. As a result, threshold voltage is greatly changed for oxide thickness, and we know the changing trend greatly differs with bottom gate voltage, channel length and thickness, and doping concentration.
Super Resolution by Learning Sparse-Neighbor Image Representation

Among the Example based Super Resolution(SR) techniques, Neighbor embedding(NE) has been inspired by manifold learning method, particularly locally linear embedding. However, the poor generalization of NE decreases the performance of such algorithm. The sizes of local training sets are always too small to improve the performance of NE. We propose the Learning Sparse-Neighbor Image Representation baesd on SVR having an excellent generalization ability to solve this problem. Given a low resolution image, we first use bicubic interpolation to synthesize its high resolution version. We extract the patches from this synthesized image and determine whether each patch corresponds to regions with high or low spatial frequencies. After the weight of each patch is obtained by our method, we used to learn separate SVR models. Finally, we update the pixel values using the previously learned SVRs. Through experimental results, we quantitatively and qualitatively confirm the improved results of the proposed algorithm when comparing with conventional interpolation methods and NE.
Circle Detection and Approximation for Inspecting a Fiber Optic Connector Endface

In the field of image recognition, circle detection is one of the most widely used techniques. Conventional algorithms are mainly based on Hough transform, which is the most straightforward algorithm for detecting circles and for providing enough robust algorithm. However, it suffers from large memory requirements and high computational loads, and sometimes tends to detect incorrect circles. This paper proposes an optimal circle detection and approximation method which is applicable for inspecting fiber optic connector endface. The proposed method finds initial center coordinates and radius based on the initial edge lines. Then, by introducing the simplified K-means algorithm, the proposed method investigates a substitute-circle by minimizing the area of non-overlapped regions. Through extensive simulations, it is shown that the proposed method can improve the error rate by as much as 67% and also can reduce the computing time by as much as 80%, compared to the Hough transform provided by the OpenCV library.

Nowadays, a private protection act has come into effect which demands for the protection of personal image information obtained by the CCTV. According to this act, the object out of interest has to be mosaicked such that it can not be identified before the image is sent to the investigation office. Meanwhile, the demand for digital videos obtained by CCTV is also increasing for digital forensic. Therefore, due to the two conflicting demands, the demand for a solution which can automatically mask an object in the CCTV video is increasing and related IT industry is expected to grow. The core technology in developing a target masking solution is the object tracking technique. In this paper, we propose an object tracking technique which suits for the application of CCTV video object masking as a postprocess. The proposed method simultaneously uses the motion and the color information to produce a stable tracking result. Furthermore, the proposed method is based on the centroid shifting method, which is a fast color based tracking method, and thus the overall tracking becomes fast.
Development of Lighting Control System Based on Location Positioning for Energy Saving

When lighting has installed indoor, we control lighting using human-detecting sensors for people who pass at night and places that are lack of quantity of light. However, malfunction can be caused by positions of inappropriate sensors, and in the case of passages of big buildings, it is a problem that even after a person pass, light apparatuses are turned on for a long time. In this paper, we propose lighting control system based on location positioning for energy saving that control lighting in accordance with passers's position through indoor location positioning. This system use the fingerprinting technology that is one of the location positioning technologies and RSSI data that is collected by a smart device. Using those, it can turn on only lightings that are included in the positioned location and reduce unnecessary power consumption. As a result of experiment, on condition that four people were existing and illumination was 308 lux, we assured reduction effect of 49 Wh.
Implementation of Wireless Micro-Magnetic Detection System in the Conveyer Belt

Micro-magnetic detection system is used to detect small particles in an automatic transmission valve body, which signal noise and time-delay may occurs in process of signal transmitting and filtering. In this paper, we present the design and implement of a micro-magnetic detection system based on wireless sensor networks in conveyer belt. Micro-magnetic detection system consists of five modules which are magnetic sensor detector, signal processing unit, wireless sensor networks, system control unit and system monitoring unit. Our experimental results show that the proposed wireless micro-magnetic detection system improves both accuracy and time delay compared to the wired system; therefore, it may apply for wireless micro-magnetic detection system by analysis of packet reception rate.
A Study on Edge Detection using Directional Mask in Impulse Noise Image

The edge detection is a pre-processing of such as image segmentation, image recognition, etc, and many related studies are being conducted both in domestic and abroad. Representative edge detection methods are Sobel, Prewitt, Laplacian, Roberts and Canny edge detectors. Such existing methods are possible for superb detections of edges if edges are detected from videos without noises. However, for video degraded by the salt-and-pepper noise, the edge detection characteristic is shown to be insufficient due to the noise influence. Therefore, in this study, the area is separated as the top, down, left and right from the mask's center pixel first to acquire a superb edge detection characteristic from the video damaged by the salt-and-pepper noise. And the algorithm that detects the final edge by applying the directional mask on the assumed factor of mask that is obtained according to the result of determination for the noise status of representative pixel value of each area.
Application of Extended Technology Acceptance Model in u-Health - Focused on the Effect of Self-Efficacy

The aim of this study was to search for the effects of health self-efficacy and technology self-efficacy on user's behavioural intention by the extended TAM focused on smartphone base ubiquitous health system. In this research, in view of small sample size, PLS - SEM methodology was applied to this study in order to the proposed research model. As a result of analysis, the statistical fitness of proposed research model was confirmed through GoF value and the path coefficient was calculated for the hypotheses test. Finally, the implications of analysis result showed that when the use of smartphone device could be easily accessed in the side of technology self-efficacy, the possibility of user's behavioural intention also might be higher.

The legacy on-line translation service limits the participation to general users except clients and translators while the automatic translation service guarantees no exactness and perfectness on the translated results. This paper proposes a web-based translation service with business model that permits the participation of general users as well as translators and clients to modify and evaluate the transient contents of the translation ultimately leading to the collective intelligence.
A Study on Analysis of Current Status and Improvement Suggestions for Massive Open Online Courses

Massive Open Online Courses(MOOC), originally started from United States, have recently received a great deal of attention all over the world. MOOC means free online courses that anyone can attend anytime. In Korea, KERIS(Korea Education and Research Information Service) and some universities provide various MOOC services. The purpose of this paper is to present current status and improvement suggestions of MOOC. We first introduce the formal definition and history of MOOC, then discuss current status of MOOC services in Korea and other countries. We finally present improvement suggestions that include induction of active participation for universities, value creation for campus, development of revenue model, providing motivation to students for finishing courses, development of LMS(Learning Management System), securing well-trained lecturers, translation of lecture materials, ensuring quality of authentification system of MOOC services.
A Study on Gender Difference Analysis for Gifted Children in IT

In the knowledge-based society, a nation's national power depends on IT industry. Also, literacy and application of IT technology can make a person live in comfortable circumstances. Currently, a few outstanding people lead entire IT industry and academy. In this sense, it is necessary to identify and nurture the gifted children in IT as early as we can. The purpose of this paper is to investigate gender difference of the gifted students in IT. Especially we are interested in their grade difference so that we select programming ability and logical thinking ability as academic performance evaluation. For this purpose, the gifted children in gifted science education center attached to a university at Seoul Metropolitan Area are selected. Their grades for 8 years were collected and analyzed. The analysis results show that there is no significant difference between male students and female students for programming ability and logical thinking ability. This also means that there is no academic difference between male and female students for the gifted children in IT.

In the present study, A protocol gateway between agent is designed by using an optimized protocol for the exchange of ISO / IEEE 11073-20601 in order to compensate the disadvantage of the existing gateway and a international standard healthcare set-top. The gate way was designed to smooth data transmission to overcoming the geographical limits of the service and to enable data transfer on emergency vehicle and the mountain area.
Scleral Diagnostic System Implementation with Color and Blood Vessel Sign Pattern Code Generations

The paper describes the scleral diagnostic system implementation for human eyes by using the scleral color code and vessels sign pattern code generations. The system is based on the high performance DSP image signal processor, programmable gain control for preprocessing and RISC SD frames storage. RGB image signals are optimized by PGC, the edge image is detected form the gray image converted. The processing algorithms are executed by scleral color code generation and scleral vessels sign pattern code creation for discriminating and matching. The scleral symptomatic color code is generated by YCbCr values at memory map tolerated and the vessel sign pattern code is created by digitizing the 24 clock and 13 ring zones, overlay matching and tolerances. The experimental results for performance are that the system runs 40ms, and the color and pattern for diagnostic errors are around 20% and 24% on average. The system and technique enable a scleral diagnosis with subdividing the patterns and patient database.
Study of Image Production using Steadicam Effects for 3D Camera

The steadicam effects is widely used in production of the 3D animation for natural camera movement. Conventional method for steadicam effects is using keyframe animation technique, which is annoying and time consuming process. Furthermore it is difficult and unnatural to simulate camera movement in real world. In this paper we propose a novel method for representing steadicam effects on virtual camera of 3D animation. We modeled a camera of real world into Maya production tools, considering gravity, mass and elasticity. The model is implemented with Python language, which is directly applied to Maya platform as a filter module. The proposed method reduces production time and improves production environment. It also makes more natural and realistic footage to maximize visual effects.
Platform Independent Game Development Using HTML5 Canvas

Recently, HTML5 have drawn many people's attention since it is considered as a next-generation web standard and can implement a lot of graphic and multimedia-related techniques on a web browser without installing programs separately. In this paper, we implement a game independent of platforms, such as iOS and Android, using the HTML5 canvas. In the game, the main character can move up, down, left, and right not to collide with neighboring enemies. If the character collides with an enemy, the HP (hit point) gauge bar reduces. On the other hand, if the character obtains heart items, the gauge bar increases. In the future, we will add various items to the game and will diversify its user interfaces by applying computer vision techniques such as various gesture recognition.
Design and Implementation of Efficient PA Technology for Mobile PST

PST stands for the Premium Sales Tool for Product Consulting is customized product catalog system. In other words, the product classification categories of content for consulting and sales to customers by providing useful information for the maximization of an overall system. These problems with mobility and flexibility of updating the solution to integrate mobile with mobile devices, but high-performance high-resolutions era content data continuously, but still it is difficult to handle. In this paper, to solve this problem, depending on the user's gesture by allowing periodic allocation and release of a problem for load generation enhanced by improving the PST system has been designed and implemented. Implementation was a result of the test the performance of the system, that PA system that has been provided by the traditional DA system show the allocation and the average 78% of the rate of decrease the load is released in the frequency of page, CPU utilization was reduced an average 72% I was confirmed.
Three-dimensional/two-dimensional convertible integral imaging display system using an active mask

3D integral imaging technique with an active mask is capable of displaying real 3D images with high resolution in space. In this paper, we present a novel 3D/2D convertible integral imaging display system using an active mask. For the proposed method, the principles of 3D, 2D, and 3D/2D composed operations are explained according to the displayed images through two LCD panels. In 3D mode, the elemental images and the mask images are displayed in two display panels. On the other hand, the light source image and 2D image are displayed in 2D mode. In addition, 3D/2D mode is obtained using the spatial separation for 3D and 2D modes. To show the feasibility of the proposed method, we carry out the preliminary experiments and present the optical results.
A Study on Radar Received Power based on Target Observing Position

Since the RCS(Radar Cross Section) of target is important factor to determine radar performance, it is important to locate radar where large RCS is observed. However, the distance between the target and the radar is an important factor of the received power, as well as RCS. In this paper, it is calculated that received power from ballistic missile to radar based on different observed position and it is studied that to place radar for high detection efficiency.
3-Axis Magnetometer Modeling & Simulation and Implementation for Under Water Weapon System

This research handles the performance improvement effect by the Modeling & Simulation and shows the design, implementation, test results of the new 3-axis magnetometer which is the core component of strategic offensive deploying mine. The submarine is modelled by using the commercial electromagnetic field analysis tool on numerical value, and its magnetic field characteristic is predicted in order to apply the new magnetometer to the future underwater weapon system. The method to take the performance test results of new 3-axis magnetometer in the land is shown instead of the real test result in sea by making the miniature submarine.

When an integrated circuit device is burned out under high-intense radiation and device-level simulation that usually requires manufacturer's proprietary information is not available, experimental conformation of a failure mechanism is often the only choice. To distinguish Latchup from other causes experimentally, a new combination of multiple techniques have been developed and demonstrated. Power supply circumvention, hot-spot monitoring using an infrared camera, and supply current monitoring techniques were implemented for the conformation of the Latchup.
