New business The e-book industry is creating a convergence of ICT and printing culture. Even so, the system changes is not great in Korea. Global market players are going to creating a membership or community-type business model to take advantage of the terminal, platform, network, but the creative content production in Korea is limited. Since the discussion is limited to such devices or network services most, we suggest the possibility of modeling a multi-faceted. And the development of technology and services platform content is also important as a strategic approach to the development of the e-book industry. Most of all, we propose the application of content, technologies and services are developed.
Study on O-slot UWB Microstrip patch antenna

In this paper, We proposed a UWB microstrip patch antenna with an O-shaped slot of the step structure and analyzed the characteristics of the antenna. In order to improve of frequency properties, size of the patch radiating element, radius change of the O-shaped slot, width of the feed line and a rectangular slot were optimized by CST simulation program. The proposed antenna showed that the 2.8GHz ~ 11.4GHz frequency, the minimum return loss and -10dB bandwidth were -32.39dB and 8.6GHz, respectively.
DGPS service analysis in the korean coastal ferry route

Based on the DGPS radio wave measurement in the coast of the yellow-sea, south-sea and east-sea, the DGPS service regions in the korean coastal ferry route are analyzed in this paper. The impact of obstacles on the propagation due to the archipelago and island regions are measured and analyzed in the point of service region. The ocean-based DGPS reference stations provide the wide DGPS ocean service regions with signal strength more than
and signal-to-noise ratio more than 10 dB. Based on the overlapping of the service regions between the DGPS reference stations, the DGPS services with good quality are provided in the coastal ferry route segments. In case of regions where the propagation obstacles are scattered, the increasingly good service can be provided under conditions of output power reinforcement and antenna efficiency enhancement.
Requirement analysis and architecture establishment for ship production monitoring system

Shipbuilding production management is one of the most significant activities in productivity improvement. Shop-floor managers and production planners still do not have enough production information for shop-floor scheduling due to shortage of information sharing among them. In this research, main issues were derived from requirement analysis between production planning and shop-floor control to establish a software system architecture for ship production monitoring system(SPMS), which is developed with component based design(CBD). The proposed system's key functions cover from block shop assembly to quay outfitting stage to visualize production progress as well as to maximize production information sharing. The system will allow more reliable and accurate production information to permeate down to members of the workforce just in time.
Genetic Algorithm based Orthogonal Matching Pursuit for Sparse Signal Recovery

In this paper, an orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) method combined with genetic algorithm (GA), named GAOMP, is proposed for sparse signal recovery. Some recent greedy algorithms such as SP, CoSaMP, and gOMP improved the reconstruction performance by deleting unsuitable atoms at each iteration. However they still often fail to converge to the solution because the support set could not avoid the local minimum during the iterations. Mutating the candidate support set chosen by the OMP algorithm, GAOMP is able to escape from the local minimum and hence recovers the sparse signal. Experimental results show that GAOMP outperforms several OMP based algorithms and the
optimization method in terms of exact reconstruction probability.
Optimizing of BCJR Equalization with BCJR Decoder in the Underwater Communication

The performance of underwater acoustic communication system is sensitive to the inter-symbol interference due to delay spread develop of multipath signal propagation. Thus, it is necessary technique of equalizer and channel code to eliminate inter-symbol interference. In this paper, underwater acoustic communication system were analyzed by experiment using these techniques on the Kyeong-chun lake, Munkyeong City. Based on the results of experiment, we confirmed that the performance of the proposed iterative BCJR equalization method is improved by increasing the number of iterations.
Video-based fall detection algorithm combining simple threshold method and Hidden Markov Model

Automatic fall-detection algorithms using video-data are proposed. Six types of fall-feature parameters are defined applying the optical flows extracted from differential images to principal component analysis(PCA). One fall-detection algorithm is the simple threshold method that a fall is detected when a fall-feature parameter is over a threshold, another is to use the HMM, and the other is to combine the simple threshold and HMM. Comparing the performances of three types of fall-detection algorithm, the algorithm combining the simple threshold and HMM requires less computational resources than HMM and exhibits a higher accuracy than the simple threshold method.
Design and Implementation of Adaptive Beam-forming System for Wi-Fi Systems

This paper presents the implementation and design of the advanced WI-FI systems with beam-forming antenna that radiate their power to the direction of user equipment to improve the overall throughput, contrast to the general WI-FI systems equipped with omni-antenna. The system consists of patch array antenna, DSP, FPGA, and Qualcomm's commercial chip. The beam-forming system on the FPGA utilizes the packet information from Qualcomm's commercial chip to control the phase shifters and attenuators of the patch array antenna. The PCI express interface has been used to maximize the communication speed between DSP and FPGA. The directions of arrival of users are managed using the database, and each user is distinguished by the MAC address given from the packet information. When the system wants to transmit a packet to one user, it forms beams to the direction of arrival of the corresponding user stored in the database to maximize the throughput. Directions of arrival of users are estimated using the received preamble in the packet to make its SINR as high as possible. The proposed beam-forming system was implemented using an FPGA and Qualcommm's commercial chip together. The implemented system showed considerable throughput improvement over the existing general AP system with omni-directional antenna in the multi-user communication environment.
Adaptive Interference Estimation For Cellular Mobile Communication Systems Using Directional Transmission and Performance Evaluation Based on System-Level Simulations

To cope with the explosive growth of traffic which is considered as one of the most biggest threat to current mobile communication systems, various solutions such as small cell and device-to-device communication have been exploited. Directional transmission in which transmission power of base station is focused onto the direction where the mobile station is located, can be used to increase throughput of the system. In this work, we develop a system-level simulator for cellular mobile communication systems using directional transmission and adaptive interference estimation scheme for directional transmission has been proposed. By using the developed simulator, the performance of cellular mobile communication systems with directional transmission is examined. Moreover, it is shown that the overall throughput of cellular system can be improved by utilizing directional transmission.

The standard for DGPS reference station system defined by RTCM is in the current version of 1.2. This standard currently supports only GPS of the United States. However, the current operating GNSS satellite consisted of not only GPS, but also GALILEO of Europe, GLONASS of Russia, QZSS of Japan, BeiDou of China and so on. Therefore, the existing standard is not able to support them. Accordingly, a new standard in the version of RTCM's RSIM 1.3 is established in order to provide correctional services to GNSS satellites. In this paper, the version of RSIM 1.3 is analyzed and the software for DGNSS reference station architecture supporting the version of RSIM 1.3 is designed.
A Study on the Binary-Coded Physical-Layer Network Coding with High-Order Modulation Techniques

In this paper, a binary-coded physical-layer network coding (PNC) is considered when high-order modulation techniques are used at source nodes in wireless communication environments. In the conventional PNC schemes, tight power control and phase compensation are required at a relay node. However, they may not be feasible in practical wireless communication environments. Thus, we do not assume the pre-equalization in this paper, and we only utilize the channel state information at receiver (CSIR). We propose a signal detection method for the binary-coded PNC with high-order modulation, such as QPSK and 16QAM, at the source nodes, while the conventional scheme only consider the BPSK at source nodes. We also analyze the bit-error performance of the proposed technique in both uncoded and coded cases.
The Wireless Communication for Marine Buoy

Ocean buoys are operated for safe navigation and collecting ocean data. Recently, to reducing marine buoy's damage by ocean weather's bad condition and collision with vessels has been conducted in several field research. This paper's experiment is buoy condition monitoring about predefined data form by users. As a result using Wireless remote control board applying a radio signal processing algorithms, it can observe buoy's state at an interval of three minutes on the land. Acquired data type is changeable according to ocean weather condition or buoy's purpose of using in advance. Also, this paper conducted an experiment such as data-transmission's stability and wireless communication's availability. As results of the analysis of the transmitted data, the solar, wind and wave power indicates the maximum amount of power, 50 W, 20 W and 40 W respectively. The communication system proven through this research can apply to buoy or other ocean facility.

JXTA does not need to be managed by the central server, and has the property that can communicate with any device that is connected to the network. Thus, JXTA can be applied to the communication between heterogeneous P2P systems. This paper deals with the design of a data exchange system utilizing the JXTA's foregoing property, which is able to connect P2P systems with different protocols and APIs.

In this paper, we proposes a new document summarization method using the extracted semantic feature which the semantic feature is extracted by distributed parallel processing based Hadoop. The proposed method can well represent the inherent structure of documents using the semantic feature by the non-negative matrix factorization (NMF). In addition, it can summarize the big data document using Hadoop. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can summarize the big data document which a single computer can not summarize those.
A Comparative Study on Electronic Cultural Atlas

According to the growing interest in the digital convergence throughout society, the convergence of creative and new forms is emerging recently in various fields. Research methods to explore the diversity of academic studies have been studied in the field of study. As one of these methods, research on electronic cultural atlas that has features of convergence studies is gradually spreading. In this paper, we examine existing electronic cultural atlas and then, compare and analyze them. In details, existing electronic cultural atlas are comparative analyzed on the basis of base map, interface, and function. Through the results of comparative analysis, the efficient production of electronic cultural atlas are examined.
A Session-based Instant Message System by Distributed Architecture

In this paper we have proposed a new distributed architecture of session-based instant message system, in which multiple servers can distribute loads effectively to improve system extendability. The server of session-based instant message system should manage SIP sessions to transfer instant message with multimedia data to each users, and it should process large amount of presence informations from each users. Therefore load of the server should be distributed as the number of users increases. In our system, when server load increases according to large user numbers, the load are distributed by selecting a server with the lowest load value, or new server is created to allocate the message processing. Therefore the overall load of instant message system can be dynamically distributed. A new presence information data format with added elements for controlling server load has been designed for this purpose, and SIP messages exchanging procedure between servers and users has been also suggested. The performance of our proposed system has been analysed by simulation, and showed improvement of performance.
Design of Phase Locked Loop with Supply Noise Detector for Improving Noise Reduction

In this paper, a phase locked loop with suppressed power supply noise has been proposed. The added negative feedback loop of voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) and power noise detector suppresses the power noise induced jitter variation of VCO down to 1/3. The power noise detector is the modified circuit of frequency voltage converter. The proposed PLL has been designed based on a 1.8V 0.18um CMOS process and proved by HSPICE simulation.
Channel Doping Concentration Dependent Threshold Voltage Movement of Asymmetric Double Gate MOSFET

This paper has analyzed threshold voltage movement for channel doping concentration of asymmetric double gate(DG) MOSFET. The asymmetric DGMOSFET is generally fabricated with low doping channel and fully depleted under operation. Since impurity scattering is lessened, asymmetric DGMOSFET has the adventage that high speed operation is possible. The threshold voltage movement, one of short channel effects necessarily occurred in fine devices, is investigated for the change of channel doping concentration in asymmetric DGMOSFET. The analytical potential distribution of series form is derived from Possion's equation to obtain threshold voltage. The movement of threshold voltage is investigated for channel doping concentration with parameters of channel length, channel thickness, oxide thickness, and doping profiles. As a result, threshold voltage increases with increase of doping concentration, and that decreases with decrease of channel length. Threshold voltage increases with decrease of channel thickness and bottom gate voltage. Lastly threshold voltage increases with decrease of oxide thickness.
Hardware Design of VLIW coprocessor for Computer Vision Application

In this paper, a VLIW(Very Long Instruction Word) vision coprocessor which can efficiently accelerate computer vision algorithm for automotive is designed. The VLIW coprocessor executes four instructions per clock cycle via 8-stage pipelined structure and has 36 integer and floating-point instructions to accelerate computer vision algorithm for pedestrian detection. The processor has about 300-MHz operating frequency and about 210,900 gates under 45nm CMOS technology and its estimated performance is 1.2 GOPS(Giga Operations Per Second). The vision system composed of vision primitive engine and eight VLIW coprocessors can execute pedestrian detection at 25~29 frames per second(FPS). Because the VLIW coprocessor has high detection rate and loosely coupled interface with host processor, it can be efficiently applicable to a wide range of vision applications.
A study on the highly sensitive metal nanowire sensor for detecting hydrogen

In this paper, we report on an investigation of highly sensitive sensing performance of a hydrogen sensor composed of palladium (Pd) nanowires. The Pd nanowires have been grown by electrodeposition into nanochannels and liberated from the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template by dissolving in an aqueous solution of NaOH. A combination of photo-lithography, electron beam lithography and a lift-off process has been utilized to fabricate the sensor using the Pd nanowire. The hydrogen concentrations for 2% and 0.1% were obtained from the sensitivities (
) for 1.92% and 0.18%, respectively. The resistance of the Pd nanowires depends on absorption and desorption of hydrogen. Therefore, we expect that the Pd nanowires can be applicable for detecting highly sensitive hydrogen gas at room temperature.
An Improved Hough Transform Using Valid Features

The Hough transform (HT), that is a typical algorithm for detecting lines in images, needs considerable computational costs and easily detects pseudo-lines on the real world images, because of the large amount of features generated by their complex background or noise. This paper proposes an improved HT that add a preprocessing to estimate the validity of features to the conventional HT. The feature estimation can remove a lot of inessential features for the line detection using a pattern of
block features. Experiments using various images show that the proposed algorithm saves computational costs by removing 14%~58% of features depending on images and besides it is superior to the conventional HT in valid line detection.
Improvement of Direction-Oriented Interpolation for Deinterlacing

This paper presents, a deinterlacing method by improving the Direction-Oriented Interpolation (DOI) technique. The technique is considered to be a very strong tool for intrafield-based deinterlacing. However, DOI has some problems such as long processing time, wrong edge detection in periodic pattern. To remedy this problem, we replace the full search in DOI by a two-step search to reduce processing time and introduces two additional processes to improve image quality. In the proposed method, the spatial direction vectors (SDVs) misread data are reconsidered to prevent them utilizing in the next interpolation step, resulting in an accurate deinterlacing method. We conduct experiments with ISO experimental images to compare the proposed method with the existing methods including line evarage (LA), edge-based line averaging (ELA), DOI, selective deinterlacing algorithm (SDA). Experimental results show the proposed method gives better performance in objective and subjective quality than existing deinterlacing methods.
Real-time Reefer Container Control Device Using M2M Communication

A recent trend of increasing container traffic volume using reefer container demands continuous management of reefer container in transit. However, reefer containers can only be monitored at terminal or in ship during marine transportation instead of throughout entire section. In the case of inland transportation section using truck or train, monitoring is not possible currently. The reason is because the reefer container monitoring method using PCT recommended by IMO and conventional monitoring methods using TCP/IP, RFID communication require establishing additional communication infrastructure. This paper will propose a new reefer container control device that not only solves these problems and monitors during inland transportation section but also controls reefer container. Using data port attached to every reefer container, the proposed device collects the information of reefer container and using M2M communication technology, it transmits information to server without the need to establish additional communication infrastructure. In addition, it can control the operational status of reefer container upon receiving control information set in server such as temperature of reefer container.
A Study on Position Detection in Gears in Automatic Production of Geared Shaft

Available shafts with gears at each end of the cylinder-shaped steel are widely used as power train components for automobiles. In order to automate the production of a geared shaft, there are problems to be solved. After one side of the cylinder is cut in gears, one of the problems is to determine the position of the cylinder which has been already cut. The shaft is then to be fed ahead with geared position to the chuck with jaws in geared shape. The other problem is to acquire information on an angular position of the shaft to fit to the jaws of the chuck. This paper deals with the magnetic detection sensor of gear position. Coils are installed in two places. Self-inductances of coils are detected by the changes of reluctance and are then compared. The magnetic analysis also has been carried out by the finite element analysis (FEM).
Implementation of Efficient Cable Spreading Algorithm and Automation Program for Electrical Equipment in Power Plant

In this paper, we proposed and implemented the automated cable-spreading program which can be done effectively cabling plan for electrical equipment in power plant. Cause the process of existing cable-spreading design was written in by hand, there are grossly inefficient gain by a personal and time investment with cable omission and unfixed overfill value. Proposed automation program for cable-spreading, which is coded cable and raceway, can calculate the overfill value and raceway change. Some experiments are conducted so as to verify the proposed model, and as a result, implemented cable-spreading program is well performed.
A study on a target-tracking and noncontact type biosignal measurment system Using IR-Radar and Pan-Tilt system

As Single households increases for reason of communication development, extending human life, there are many problems occuring all over the world. In order to solve this problem with an invasion of privacy and manintain a healthy life, this paper suggest non-contact type bio-signal measurement system using IR-Radar, displacement sensor and Pan-Tilt system. The proposed system can increse the distance of measured respiration from 1m to over 8m, which is comprised of two IR-Radar for location tracking, one displacement sensor for non-contact type bio-signal measurement and one stepping motor drive system. The proposed system is verified through experiments and were confirmed the possibility.

In wireless sensor networks(WSNs), geographical routing algorithms can enhance the network capacity. However, in real WSNs, it is difficult for each node to know its physical location accurately. Especially, indoor environments contain various obstacles such as concrete wall, furniture which cause non-line-of-sight(NLOS) conditions. To solve the problem, we propose location error compensation algorithm by using two difference topology constructions. First topology is based on mobile node's location which is obtained from anchor nodes. Second topology is based on mutual distance from neighbor nodes. The proposed algorithm efficiently detects and corrects the location errors and significantly enhances the network performance of geographic routing in the presence of location errors.
Implementation of Integration Control System Based on Smart for Moving Welfare Medical Device Disinfection

In this paper, an integrated control system for removable welfare equipment disinfection is implemented. The integrated control system consisted of a hydrogen peroxide vapor supply control circuit, a sterilization chamber control circuit using low vacuum, and a washing control circuit using microbubble. A Smart-phone based remote control and monitoring system is implemented to monitor the operating status and communication status for the integrated control system. An experiment is set up to evaluate the performance of the integrated control system. The experiment result confirms that signal and operation status can transmit and receive within the control circuit. The integrated control system shows good performance in terms of sensor interface, communication state and control. In future research, the proposed control system should deploy to an actual system for trial test to prove its performance.

For edge detection methods, there are Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts and Canny edge detector, and these methods have insufficient detection characteristics in the image corrupted by the impulse noise. Therefore in this paper, in order to improve these disadvantages of the previous methods and to effectively detect the edge in the impulse noise environment, using the
mask, the noise factors within the
mask based on the central pixel is determined, and depending on its status, for noise-free it is processed as is, and if noise is found, by obtaining the estimated mask using the adjacent pixels of each factor, an algorithm that detects the edge is proposed.

In modern society digital equipments that are related with various hardware and software are popularized, and digital images are widely applied in the field of production and scientific research. In general, however, images are degraded by the noise in the process of transmission and storage. In this paper, to reduce the influence of mixed noises, the algorithm in which noises in the space area are classified into impulse noise and Gaussian noise and this is processed by applying weighted value, while that is processed by modified nonlinear filter is proposed. And the excellence of the proposed algorithm is judged by PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio).
A Design and Implementation of Mobile Application Usage Pattern Analysis System

Mobile applications are software systems running on handheld devices, such as smartphones, PDAs, tablets and so on. The market of mobile application has rapidly expanded in the past few years. In this paper, we present a novel approach to track smartphone application usage from a event logs on the mobile device and analyzed both on client system and usage analysis server. We implemented our client system on Android device based usage analytics platform. Based on the analysis server system, we obtained over 47,000 user base, and we get the user's app usage informations on realtime. In this paper, we describe a large scale deployment-based research for a smartphone usage patterns and usage information visualization techniques.
A Design and Implementation of Circuit for Efficient Power LED Dimming Control

The conventional dimming control methods of LED (Light-emitting dioades) include Analog, PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), and FM (Frequency Modulation) Control. Analog dimming is controlled by adjusting forward current of Power LED. Although Analog dimming is possible to control linearly the brightness levels on a whole range (0%~100%), it comes into existence a variation of wavelength by changing the Power LED's forward current. PWM dimming has achieved by varying in duty of full current flowing to the Power LED. Generally, PWM dimming doesn't make variation of wavelength but have difficulty with adjusting the linear brightness level between 0% and 10%. FM dimming method is on the same wavelength as PWM dimming, however, it has problem of flickering at low level of dimming. This paper propose a efficient dimming control method of Power LED in order to overcome the disadvantages of the above mentioned methods. We apply to Analog method in low level of dimming control and use PWM method in dimming range from 10% to 100%. For the experiment, we design and implement a circuit and test the proposed method. Consequently, we can control the linear brightness of Power LED across the whole range and get the constant wave at different dimming level. The experimental results show the benefits of the proposed method.
A Study on A VITD Creation Method using Domestic Thematic Maps : Focusing on Military Topographic Analysis Maps

There were a lot of attempts in the army to use various domestic thematic maps, but attribute data types of military topographic analysis maps use the FACC of DIGEST, so there is a limit in employing domestic thematic maps with different types of attribute codes. Therefore, this study analyzed the FACC as a data attribute based on the MIL-PRF-89040 of the US Army. Then, VITD was created by changing the attribute codes of domestic thematic maps produced in Korea to fit the FACC. Lastly, it was applied to the analysis of cross-country movement for maneuver defined in FM 5-33 in order to verify if it is applicable in practice. As a result, it was found that the suggested method was helpful in securing the cross-country movement for maneuver. This means that this method can be used not only in producing military topographic analysis maps using domestic thematic maps but in constructing emergency transport routes roads to transport by-products of forest in future.
An Open-Loop Power Control Algorithm for On-The-Move Terminal in Satellite Communication Systems

In this paper, we propose an open loop power control algorithm to control transmission power of the On-The-Move(OTM) Satcom terminal in GEO satellite communication environment. The proposed algorithm identifies the current channel state restricted by an obstacle or an antenna depointing loss based on the received beacon signal strength. On the basis of the determined signal attenuation causes, the OTM Satcom terminal turns off the RF output when an antenna tracking is failed. If the OTM Satcom terminal experiences a channel blockage by an obstacle, the terminal spreads the transmit data to increase data reception probability. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we compare an adjacent satellite interference level and an outage probability. The results show the performance of the proposed algorithm is better than that of the conventional algorithm.

Artificial reef refers to various structures that facility to construction field format and spawning of marine organisms, sea ranch, forest of the sea, and sea jungle artificially in water, Build a production stable base of marine products, thereby contributing to an increase in the income of fishermen. In the management of an artificial reef, the calculation of the number of square reefs may be that it is a method to perform the submersible is an important part of maintenance is correct. However, cost and diving personnel, depending on the diving situation, there is a difficult thing to implement to coast across the country. Therefore, In this study, We calculated the volume using the multi-beam Echo Sounder and side scan sonar for the reefs of the rectangle are the existing installation. And proposes the improvement of the estimation in accordance with the volume coefficient reef.
Development of Ultrasonic Multi-Beam Sludge Meter For Effluent Facilities Automation

A concentration meter is widely used at purification plants, sewage treatment plants and waste water treatment plants to sort and transfer high concentration sludge and to control the amount of chemical input. This study has been prepared for improving efficiency of operation on sludge processes and to establish a basic for factory automation by accuracy improvement and problem solution of sludge concentration meter. The concentration meter's accuracy and stability is improved by applying multi-beam sensors and minimum deviation linear average filtering. Furthermore maintenance without cut-off of water in sludge operation is possible by detachable sensors. The performance of multi-beam concentration meter has been variously verified by the pilot plant experiment.
