Design and Fabrication of Modified Monopole Antenna for Wireless USB Dongle with WLAN system Applications

In this paper, we propose a built-in antenna for wireless USB dongle which has a modified structure from the existing planar monopole antenna. The proposed antenna implemented a dual-band characteristic by inserting Strip1, Strip2, Strip3 into the monopole structure combined with 'n' shape and feeded 50-Ω using coaxial cable. The antenna is designed on an FR-4 substrate of which the dielectric constant is 4.6, and its overall size is 10 mm × 50 mm × 1mm. Based on the measurement results of the return loss, it was confirmed to satisfy the dual band resonance characteristics of 740 MHz (2.3 ~ 2.7 GHz) and 1,200 MHz (5.15 ~ 5.825 GHz) by -10 dB. In addition, we obtain the omni-directional radiation pattern measurements in the operating frequency bands, and the maximum gain of the proposed antenna has 2.26~3.81 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band and 2.21~5.79 dBi. in the 5.5 GHz band, respectively.

Recently in the field of Big Data, there is a trend of collecting and reprocessing the existing data such as products having high interest of customers and past purchase details to be utilized for the analysis of transaction propensity of users(product recommendations, sales forecasts, etc). Studies related to the propensity of previous users has limitations on its range of subjects and investigation timing and difficult to make predictions on detailed products with lack of real-time thus there exists difficult disadvantages of introducing appropriate and quick sales strategy against the trend. This paper utilizes the machine learning algorithm application to analyze the transaction propensity of users. As a result of applying the machine learning algorithm, it has demonstrated that various indicators which can be deduced by detailed product were able to be extracted.
A Study on the Evaluation of Travel Agency using Social Big Data

Recently for efficient management, companies have collected and investigated information about customers' feedback by using a system that analyzes big data from social media. This paper proposes more accurate and efficient evaluation method of collecting and investigating customers' feedback using social big data for travel agency, which is representative company of hospitality industry. First, it designs service model and, as a test-bed, analyzes media channel, customer satisfaction, and brand-image etc. of big 5 travel agencies in Korea. In addition, we suggest an analysis result of evaluating preference with positive rate and negative rate by proposed evaluation method. It allows a travel agency to know which area should be improved corresponding to evaluation item; thus, suggested evaluation method is effective to manage customers even more efficiently.
Multipath Fading Channel Characterization and Performances of Forward Error Correction Codes in Very Shallow Water

In very shallow water acoustic communication channel, underwater acoustic (UWA) communication signal is observed as frequency selective fading signal due to time-varying multipath. This induces a time and frequency dependent inter-symbol-interference (ISI) and degrades the UWA system performance. There is no study about how the performances of the error correction codes are related to a multipath fading statistics in very shallow water. In this study, the characteristics of very shallow water multipath fading channel is analyzed and the performances of two different forward error correction (FEC) codes are compared. The convolution code (CC) and Reed-Solomon (RS) code are adopted. Sea experimental results show that RS code is better choice than CC in frequency selective channel with fading.
Neighbor Discovery Scheme based on Spatial Correlation of Wireless Channel

Recently, device-to-device (D2D) communication has been considered as key technology for future cellular system, because it can solve the problem of excessive data traffic increment and can also provide new communication services. Herein, we propose new neighbor discovery for D2D communication and examine its performance. Our proposed scheme is proximity beacon based discovery in which wireless resource for pilot transmission is assigned based on the spatial correlation of wireless channel and sensing period is adjusted according to target accuracy such that power consumption can be reduced. The performance of our propose scheme is analyzed mathematically and verified through computer simulations.
Study On The MAC Schedule Technique for WPAN system to alleviate the impact of interference in the presence of WLAN system

This paper describes packet scheduling techniques that can be used to alleviate the impact of interference. The mechanism is consisted of interference estimation and master delay police. Proposed scheduling police is effective in reducing packet loss and delay. Another advantage worth mentioning, are the additional saving s in the transmitter power since packet are not transmitted when channel is bad. This paper gives that scheduling policy works only with data traffic since voice packets need to be sent at fixed intervals. However, if the delay variance is constant and the delay can be limited to a slot, it may be worthwhile to use DM packet for voice.
Miniaturized Narrow Band-pass Filter with λg/4 Short Stubs Using S-Shaped Folded Coupling Structure

In this paper, the reduced size in horizontal sizes of the narrow band pass filter (BPF) with λg/4 short stub using S shaped folded coupling structure is presented. This BPF with narrow bandwidth show flexible bandwidth with variation of the position of the stubs using the Qe(external quality factor) without changing the impedance value. On the other hand, by replacing the horizontal quarter-wavelength transmission lines with the equivalent S shaped coupled line, the BPF with reduced the size of horizontal can be realized. The proposed BPF shows the insertion loss of 1.46 dB and the return loss of 16.5 dB with bandwidth of 3.4 % at the center frequency of 5.8 GHz, respectively.
An Efficient Channel Estimation Method in MIMO-OFDM Systems

In this paper, the Walsh coded orthogonal training signals for 4 × 4 multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems are designed and the channel estimation equations are derived as a closed form, taking account of the inter training signal interference problems caused by the multi-path delayed signals. The performances of the proposed channel estimation method are analyzed and compared with the conventional methods
by using computer simulation. The simulation results show that the proposed methods has better performances, compared with the conventional methods
. As a result, the proposed method can be used for MIMO-OFDM systems with null sub-carriers.
Architecture Design for GNSS Correction Message Generating Module based on RTCM version 2.4

At present, available positioning satellites are not only the GPS, but also GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, BeiDou. However, the differential GPS, the augmentation service for increase the positioning accuracy, is follow the RTCM version 2.3 standard. So, it can service the correction information about only GPS. For solve this problem, RTCM is making the new version of RTCM message standard that can service the correction information for all of available GNSS. In South Korea, the software DGNSS RSIM system was installed at almost the whole DGNSS reference station. In this reason, that can cope with the new RTCM version 2.4 quickly. However, the DGNSS Reference Station based RSIM 1.3 can not make the GNSS's PRC simultaneously and can not support RTCM version 2.4. Thus, in this paper, the version of RTCM 2.4 is analyzed and the RTCM version 2.4 message generating module's architecture for software DGNSS reference station is designed.

Car rear-view camera system supplies services for safe driving and easy parking by showing the rear-view of the vehicle through a monitor when reversing the car. In this paper we researched implementation methods and technology of a Car Rear-view Camera System based on the Binary CDMA technology-new technology of wireless personal area network developed by Korea - that makes free installation without wired cables restriction and reduces installation costs. Through this research we manufactured a prototype system, and researched the implementation of camera input and monitor output modules, Binary CDMA wireless communication and application programs for wireless video transmitter and relay server.
An Efficient Algorithm for Big Data Prediction of Pipelining, Concurrency (PCP) and Parallelism based on TSK Fuzzy Model

The time to address the exabytes of data has come as the information age accelerates. Big data transfer technology is essential for processing large amounts of data. This paper posits to transfer big data in the optimal conditions by the proposed algorithm for predicting the optimal combination of Pipelining, Concurrency, and Parallelism (PCP), which are major functions of GridFTP. In addition, the author introduced a simple design process of Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK) fuzzy model and designed a model for predicting transfer throughput with optimal combination of Pipelining, Concurrency and Parallelism. Hence, the author evaluated the model of the proposed algorithm and the TSK model to prove the superiority.
Method of BeiDou Pseudorange Correction for Multi-GNSS Augmentation System

This paper focuses on the generation algorithm of BeiDou pseudorange correction (PRC) and simulation based performance verification for design of Differential Global Navigation Satellite System (DGNSS) reference station and integrity monitor (RSIM) in order to prepare for recapitalization of DGNSS. First of all, it discusses the International standard on DGNSS RSIM, based on the interface control document (ICD) for BeiDou, estimates the satellite position using satellite clock offset and user receiver clock offset, and the system time offset between Global Positioning System (GPS) and BeiDou. Using the performance verification platform interfaced with GNSS (GPS/BeiDou) simulator, it calculates the BeiDou pseudorange corrections , compares the results of position accuracy with GPS/DGPS. As the test results, this paper verified to meet the performance of position accuracy for DGNSS RSIM operation required on Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services (RTCM) standard.
A Design and Implementation of Multiple RobotCar System based on Mobile

The robot has a smart function with the development of mobile devices and provides safety and convenience to our lives. In this paper, we study multiple robotcar system based on mobile that can be controlled by remote control. Robotcar with arduino can be controlled from server, but it also designed to be controlled by mobile devices as controller's necessary. Besides, it have feature that many robotcars can be controlled at the same time by using several mobile devices which select each robotcar.
Indoor Precise Positioning Technology for Vehicles Using Floor Marks

A variety of studies for indoor positioning are now being in progress due to the limit of GPS that becomes obsolete in the room. However, most of them are based on private wireless networks and the situation is difficult to commercialize them since they are expensive in terms of installation and maintenance costs, non-real-time, and not accurate. This paper applies the mark recognition algorithm used in existing augmented reality applications to the indoor vehicle positioning application. It installs floor marks on the ground, performs the perspective transformation on it and decodes the internal data of the mark and, as a result, it obtains an absolute coordinate. Through the geometric analysis, it obtains current position (relative coordinates) of a vehicle away from the mark and the heading direction of the vehicle. The experiment results show that when installing the marks every 5 meter, an error under about 30 cm occurred. In addition, it is also shown that the mark recognition rate is 43.2% of 20 frames per second at the vehicle speed of 20km/h. Thus, it is thought that this idea is commercially valuable.
Collaborative System based on Social using XMDR-DAI for Business Process in Mobile Cloud

In this paper, we propose a social-based collaboration systems for business process management in the mobile cloud. This XMDR-DAI is to provide services for data sharing and exchange between local systems that operate independently in a cloud environment, take charge of a social-based collaborative business process management. Social-based collaborative business processes are handled in a collision among a structure such as unit conversion, meaning conflict, and the schema mapping data resulting from the inner query. The conflict was resolved by mapping process which takes in each XMDR-DAI.
Error Corrected K'th order Goldschmidt's Floating Point Number Division

The commonly used Goldschmidt's floating-point divider algorithm performs two multiplications in one iteration. In this paper, a tentative error corrected K'th Goldschmidt's floating-point number divider algorithm which performs K times multiplications in one iteration is proposed. Since the number of multiplications performed by the proposed algorithm is dependent on the input values, the average number of multiplications per an operation in single precision and double precision divider is derived from many reciprocal tables with varying sizes. In addition, an error correction algorithm, which consists of one multiplication and a decision, to get exact result in divider is proposed. Since the proposed algorithm only performs the multiplications until the error gets smaller than a given value, it can be used to improve the performance of a divider unit. Also, it can be used to construct optimized approximate reciprocal tables.
A Proposal Of The Horizontality Development Method On The Spring MVC

The Spring framework including the MVC design concept is the standard in web development in the JAVA environment. The programming style of the structure must be kept strictly, so every web program is able to employ the same structure. It is convenient to distribute jobs, but there are some side effects, like duplication of code, deterioration of professionalization, and deterioration of program performance. To ameliorate those problems, we propose the horizontality development method(HDM) on Spring MVC. We proved that the HDM can solve the problems through the experiment to keep the MVC structure.
Design of Hangeul Smartphone Keypad

In accordance with development of many smart phone applications, the importance of keypad that can be used in smart phone has been increasing. In this paper, we design the Hangul smart phone keypad to type a Hangeul characters more efficiently by considering the characteristics of the Hangul characters based on the existing research on smart phones keypad. The proposed keypad in this paper, when we placed the letters on the keyboard, minimizes the travel distance by using the frequency of characters and the associated frequency between vowel and consonant. In addition, we define an assessment model for evaluating the performance of the keypad and verify efficiency of the proposed keypad. According to the result of the experiment, the proposed keypad is more efficient than other keypads.
Low-Complexity and High-Speed Multi-Size Circular Shifter With Benes Network Control Signal Optimization for WiMAX QC-LDPC Decoder

One of various low-density parity-check(LDPC) codes that has been adopted in many communication standards due to its error correction ability is a quasi-cyclic LDPC(QC-LDPC) code, which leads to comparable decoder complexity. One of the main blocks in the QC-LCDC code decoder is a multi-size circular shifter(MSCS) that can perform various size rotation. The MSCS can be implemented with many structures, one of which is based on Banes network. The Benes network structure can perform the normal MSCS operation efficiently, but it cannot use the properties coming from specifications like rotation sizes. This paper proposesd a scheme where the Benes network structure can use the rotation size property with the modification of the control signal generation. The proposed scheme is applied to the MSCS of IEEE 802.16e WiMAX QC-LDPC decoder to reduce the number of MUXes and the critical path delay.
Development of FPGA-based Meteorological Information Data Receiver Circuit for Low-Cost Meteorological Information Receiver System for COMS

COMS(Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite), the first Korean geostationary meteorological satellite, provides free meteorological information through HRIT/LRIT(High/Low Rate Information Transmission) service. This work presents the development of data receiver circuit that is essential to the implementation of a low-cost meteorological information receiver system. The data receiver circuit processes the data units according to the specification of physical layer and data link layer of HRIT/LRIT service. For this purpose, the circuit consists of a Viterbi decoder, a sync. word detector, a derandomizer, a Reed-Solomon decoder and so on. The circuit also supports PCI express interface to pass the information data on to the host PC. The circuit was implemented on an FPGA(field programmable gate array) and its function was verified through simulations and hardware implementation.
A Hardware Implementation of EGML-based Moving Object Detection Algorithm

A hardware implementation of MOD(moving object detection) algorithm using EGML(effective Gaussian mixture learning)- based background subtraction to detect moving objects in video is described. Some approximations of EGML calculations are applied to reduce hardware complexity, and pipelining technique is adopted to improve operating speed. The MOD processor designed in Verilog-HDL has been verified by FPGA-in-the-loop verification using MATLAB/Simulink. The MOD processor has 2,218 slices on the Virtex5-XC5VSX95T FPGA device and its throughput is 102 MSamples/s at 102 MHz clock frequency. Evaluation results of the MOD processor for 12 images in the IEEE CDW-2012 dataset show that the average recall value is 0.7631, the average precision value is 0.7778 and the average F-measure value is 0.7535.
A Study on the Survey System for Customer Satisfaction Feedback in the Service Industry

An accurate feedback about customer satisfaction is a very important factor to efficiently manage achievements in the service industry. However, Korea is lack of quantitative and standardized system of customer satisfaction measurement. This paper suggests standardized survey system with more in-depth and various methods of questionnaire survey as well as analysis which is able to efficiently evaluate customer satisfaction. This system is that investigates customer satisfaction of process based services, which uses various methods including simply designed questionnaires, customer satisfaction survey via mobile, and an investigation on follow-up satisfaction rate. In addition, we adopted scoring system to digitize a degree of satisfaction rate, so the suggested system provides an opportunity to improve specific objects those need to be improved by clearly evaluating a degree of satisfaction rate and applying various analysis techniques, such as IPA (Importance Performance Analysis), process analysis, and expectation analysis etc. This study substantiates suggested system through applying it to travel agency which is a representative enterprise of tour service.
Efficient Inverter Type Compressor System using the Distribution of the Air Flow Rate

Air compressor, as an essential equipment used in the factory and plant operations, accounts for around 30% of the total electricity consumption in U.S.A, thereby being proposed advanced technologies to reduce electricity consumption. When the fluctuation of the compressed airflow rate is small, the system stability is increased followed by the reduction of the electricity consumption which results in the efficient design of the energy system. In the statistical analysis, the normal distribution, log normal distribution, gamma distribution or the like are generally used to identify system characteristics. However a single distribution may not fit well the data with long tail, representing sudden air flow rate especially in extremes. In this paper, authors decouple the compressed airflow rate into two parts to present a mixture of distribution function and suggest a method to reduce the electricity consumption. This reduction stems from the fact that a general pareto distribution estimates more accurate quantile value than a gaussian distribution when an airflow rate exceeds over a large number.
An Orthogonal Approximate DCT for Fast Image Compression

For image data the discrete cosine transform (DCT) has comparable energy compaction capability to Karhunen-Loeve transform (KLT) which is optimal. Hence DCT has been widely accepted in various image and video compression standard such as JPEG, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4. Recently some approximate DCT's have been reported, which can be computed much faster than the original DCT because their coefficients are either zero or the power of 2. Although the level of energy compaction is slightly degraded, the approximate DCT's can be utilized in real time implementation of image or visual compression applications. In this paper, an approximate 8-point DCT which contains 17 non-zero power-of-2 coefficients and high energy compaction capability comparable to DCT is proposed. Transform coding experiments with several images show that the proposed transform outperforms the published works.
Orientation-based Adaptive Prediction for Effective Lossless Image Compression

This paper presents an orientation-based adaptive prediction method for effective lossless image compression. For a robust prediction, the proposed method estimates the directional information and the property near the current pixel in a support region-based fashion, not a pixel-based one which is sensitive to a small variation. We improve the prediction performance effectively by selection of the prediction pixel adaptively according to the similarity between support regions of the current pixel and the neighboring pixels. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieves excellent prediction performance measured in entropy of the prediction error compared to a number of conventional prediction methods such as MED, GAP, and EDP. Moreover the complexity of the proposed algorithm measured by average execution time is low compared to MED which is the simplest prediction method.
Improved Mean-Shift Tracking using Adoptive Mixture of Hue and Saturation

Mean-Shift tracking using hue has a problem that it fail in the object tracking when background has similar hue to the object. This paper proposes an improved Mean-Shift tracking algorithm using new data instead of a hue. The new data is generated by adaptive mixture of hue and saturation which have low interrelationship . That is, the proposed algorithm selects a main attribute of color that is able to distinguish the object and background well and a secondary one which don't, and places their upper 4 bits on upper 4 bits and lower 4 bits on the mixture data, respectively. The proposed algorithm properly tracks the object, keeping tracking error maximum 2.0~4.2 pixel and average 0.49~1.82 pixel, by selecting the saturation as the main attribute of color under tracking environment that background has similar hue to the object.

We have implemented a personal prescription management system which enables resource-limited mobile device to utilize the optical character recognition technique. The system enables us to automatically detect and recognize the text in the personal prescription by using a optical character recognition technique. We improved the recognition rate over a pre-processing in order to improve the character recognition rate of the original method. The examples such as a personal prescription management service, alarm service, and drug information service with mobile devices have been demonstrated by using the our system.

This paper introduces an online collaboration infrastructure in order to build a nationwide collaboration ecosystem in research and education areas. The proposed infrastructure involves domestic research institutes, education institutions and related commercial service vendors. It also includes various systems and services which can promote their online collaboration. Especially it provides the user authentication framework based on identity federation which facilitates the share of various ICT resources across different organizations, thereby enabling the efficient R&D collaboration. We deploy and validate the user authentication framework of the infrastructure on KREONET.
A Study on Mask-based Edge Detection Algorithm using Morphology

In this digital information era, utilization of images are essential for various media, and the edge is an important characteristical information of an object in images that includes the size, location, direction and etc. Many domestic and international studies are being conducted in order to detect these edge. Existing edge detection methods include Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts, Laplacian, LoG and etc. which apply fixed weight value. As these existing edge detection methods apply fixed weight mask to the image, edge detection characteristic appears slightly insufficient. Accordingly, in order to supplement these problems, this study used bottom-hat transformation from mathematical morphology and opening operation in improving the image and proposed an algorithm that detects for the edge after calculating mask-based gradient. And to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, a comparison was made against the existing Sobel, Roberts, Prewitt, Laplacian, LoG edge detection methods, in illustrating visual images, and similarities were compared by calculating the MSE value based on the standard of each image.
An Implementation of Realtime Remote-Monitoring System for Distributed Photovoltaic Power Plants

In this paper, we propose a real-time remote monitoring system for distributed solar power generation system. The proposed system consists of PVC, UTC, OTC and monitoring server. PVC collects the operational information from the PV's inverter via serial interface. The sensing data is transmitted to the server by wireless communications and stored in the DB server. The PV's status is monitored via UTC, and the operating of PVC and UTC are managed by OTC. In addition, by providing information about the power generated by PV system and failure diagnosis in real time, the proposed system shows the possibility of reducing the maintenance costs and improved failure recovery time.
Optimized Medium Access Probability for Networked Control Systems

Distributed Networked Control Systems (NCSs) through wireless networks have a tremendous potential to improve the efficiency of various control systems. In this paper, we define the State Update Interval (SUI) as the elapsed time between successful state vector reports derived from the NCSs. A simple expression of the SUI is derived to characterize the key interactions between the control and communication layers. This performance measure is used to formulate a novel optimization problem where the objective function is the probability to meet the SUI constraint and the decision parameter is the channel access probability. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the optimal channel access probability of the optimization problem. Furthermore, the optimal channel access probability for NCSs is lower than the channel access probability to maximize the throughput. Numerical results indicate that the improvement of the success probability to meet the SUI constraint using the optimal channel access probability increases as the number of nodes increases with respect to that using the channel access probability to maximize the throughput.

Wireless Medium Access Control (MAC) and routing technologies are the basic building blocks making it possible the Internet of Things (IoT). These technologies have been the focus of substantial research in the last decade. Nevertheless, as new networking standards for IoT are being proposed and different solutions are patched together, evaluating the performance of the network becomes unclear. In this paper, a new overview of MAC and routing protocols for IoT and new interactions are given. The IEEE 802.15.4 MAC and Routing Protocol for Low-power Lossy Network (RPL) routing protocols are taken as reference to exemplify and illustrate the discussion. Experimental results show that contention-based access MACs may hurt the routing, unless these two are carefully designed together.

In telemedicaine, people can make their health checked at anywhere from temporal and spatial constraints and It's environment can provide continuous health information regardless of the location of customers through PCs and smart phones. In addition, personal health information collected utilizing the BYOD(bring your own device) is the most important factor data security and guaranteed personal privacy because it's directly connected to the individual's health and life. In this paper, we provide a signature of the private key encryption system and method for providing the security of personal health information data collected utilizing the BYOD. Against replay attacks and man-in-the-middle attacks on security issues that are emerging as a smart environmental health was used as the timestamp and signature methods. Proposed method provides encryption overhead, while a communication was lower compared to the pre-encrypted with a mean 1.499mJ 1.212mJ shown by simulation to respond quickly in an emergency situation to be about 59%.
On the HIDE based Group Signature for Secure Personal Healthcare Record Service

The issue of PHR is maintained on the server will be in the hospital. PHR information stored on the server, such as a patient's illness and treatment is very sensitive information. Therefore, patients should be guaranteed the protection of privacy. In addition, the PHR should be allowed to group access of it's approach. Therefore, in this paper the proposed group signature using hierarchical identity-based encryption schemes into can guarantee the PHR data privacy. The session key generated by group signature, it is use a tiered approach. The generated session keys safe PHR data transmission is possible. The proposed method is average 80% than the PKI encryption and ID-based encryption rather than average 50% the algorithm processing is more efficient
Improvement of SNPs detection efficient by reuse of sequences in Genotyping By Sequencing technology

Recently, the most popular technique to determine the Genotype, genetic features of individual organisms, is the GBS based on SNP from sequences determined by NGS. As analyzing the sequences by the GBS, TASSEL is the most used program to identify the genotypes. But, TASSEL has limitation that it uses only the partial sequences that is obtained by NGS. We tried to improve the efficiency in use of the sequences in order to solve the limitation. So, we constructed new data sets by quality checking, filtering the unused sequences with error rate below 0.1% and clipping the sequences considering the location of barcode and enzyme. As a result, approximately over 17% of the SNP detection efficiency was increased. In this paper, we suggest the method and the applied programs in order to detect more SNPs by using the disused sequences.
A Study on Standardization Methods Using the Order of Priorities

Proposal assessments for new weapon system development such as C4I system have been applying a qualitative assessment. The main problem of qualitative assessment is that the results vary depending on the evaluator's subjective preferences and priorities. Also, if there is no discrimination of technical skills degrade, the company will be selected by bid price regardless of technical power. In order to making a fairness, We need a method to compensate for the evaluator's subjectivity and to enhance discrimination. Previous standardization method is limited because targets of the proposal assessment are minority and have similar skill level. So, The new standardized evaluation methods applicable to the proposal was presented. This way is using the priority instead of the score and has better performance than existing methods as the target numbers are smaller.
