Analysis of Huawei's PCT Patent Applications

In this research, we aim to analyze the trend of Huawei's PCT patent applications. As a result of analyzing Huawei's PCT patents by dividing temporal spans into three periods - the early 2000s, the late 2000s, and the early 2010s -, the following characteristics have been observed. First, the number of PCT patent applications has conspicuously increased from the early 2000s to the late 2000s and this trend has continued during the early 2010s. Second, in terms of a core technological field, whereas Huawei focused on the development of technologies in the 'H04L: transmission of digital information' sector during the early/late 2000s, it changed this field to the 'H04W: wireless communication networks' sector during the early 2010s. Lastly, in the case of the patent maps, it was found that while general communications technologies, as expressed with such keywords as 'user' and 'network,' were actively developed during the early/late 2000s, mobile phone-related technologies grasped this leading position, as shown with the keywords including 'user equipment,' 'base station,' and 'MME,' during the early 2010s. It was also noticeable that Huawei filed LTE-related patent applications more actively than Apple and Samsung Electronics, which implies that it will presumably pioneer the global market more aggressively than its competitors in the future.

In this paper, we propose a UWB(Ultra Wide Band) antenna with CPW(Coplanar Waveguide) structure notched the 802.11a(5.15 ~ 5.825 GHz) band by using the U shaped slot. The proposed antenna not only shows Ultra-Wideband characteristic(3.1 ~ 10.6 GHz) suitable for UWB communications but has partially notched-band characteristic to reject 5 GHz WLAN band(5.15 ~ 5.825 GHz). Compact Dual-band CPW-fed Slot Antenna Using Split-Ring Resonator

In this paper, a design method for a compact dual-band coplanar waveguide-fed slot antenna using SRR(split-ring resonator) conductor is studied. The SRR conductor is loaded inside a rectangular slot of the proposed antenna for dual-band operation. When the SRR conductor is inserted into the slot, the original rectangular slot is divided into a rectangular loop region and a rectangular slot region, and frequency bands are created by the loop and slot, separately. A prototype of the proposed dual-band slot antenna operating at 2.45 GHz WLAN band and 3.40-5.35 GHz band is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with a dimension of 30 mm by 30 mm. Experiment results show that the antenna has a desired impedance characteristic with a frequency band of 2.38-2.51 GHz and 3.32-5.38 GHz for a voltage standing wave < 2, and measured gain is 1.7 dBi at 2.45 GHz, and it ranges 2.4-3.2 dBi in the second band.

Method for regulating voltage using a generator voltage regulating device (AVR) is divided in an existing analog system and a digital replacement. Typically, to adjust the voltage by using a brushless excitation system of the type to be reduced for a voltage change under all. The control method of the AVR as a PID (proportional-integral-differential) control method is widely used. However, the control scheme is to reduce the transient response of the control parameters of the controller to the control object. Therefore, if the control target should change, there is a problem, reset the parameters of the controller again. In this study, without having to reset the parameters of the controller for the parameter variations to be controlled iPID (intelligent PID) using a controller designed to obtain a generator AVR system voltage variation is small in response to full load is applied to and through simulations and experiments improved transient response.
Appendix Extraction from Ultrasound Image using ART2

In this paper, we propose a novel method to extract appendix from ultrasound image automatically to avoid such subjectivity issue. In the process, we apply a series of image processing algorithms such as Ends_in search stretching for emphasizing brightness contrast and binarization, region labelling, and cubic spline interpolation for extracting lower bound fasicia line that is the base of extracting the appendix. Knowing that the appendix is located at the lower organ area below the bottom fascia line, we conduct a series of image processing techniques to find the fascia line correctly. And then we apply ART2 algorithm to the organ area in order to extract appendix accurately. Through experiment, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified based on the field experts' evaluations.

Falling can happen to anyone, anywhere at anytime and especially it is one of the risk factor that can lead causes of death of persons aged 65 and over. Recently, the study of fall detection mechanisms as a smart healthcare service based on the IoT(Internet of Things) are being actively investigated. In this paper, we implement a fall detection system using arduino as a smart sensor communicates with a smart device. When transmitting the information of the acceleration on a sensor smart sensor with a BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy), the smart device processing and analyzing this information. and determines a fall situation. A fall detection system based on the Internet of Things which using smart sensor and smart device, has the advantage of being able to overcome the mobility and portability constraints.
Formation Control of Mobile Robots using Adaptive PID Controller

In this paper, we strengthen the advantages of a simple PID controller as a study on the formation control of mobile robots and propose an adaptive PID controller with robust performance at the dynamics characteristics of following robot. Simulation studies show that the adaptive PID controller has better keeping constant distance and angle such as tracking performance of following robot for the formation control than a conventional PID controller. This is the proposed adaptive PID controller to change the gains is found to represent the best performance. This is able to verify that the performance of the proposed adaptive PID controller is excellent.

This paper proposes a detection method for irregularity of ionospheric delay in network RTK (Real Time Kinematic) Environment. The linearity of network RTK correction provided to user can't be assured when a characteristic of temporal-spatial of ionospheric delay is rapidly changed due to geomagnetic storm or solar flare. Therefore, incorrect ambiguity can be resolved and positioning error can be increased. A detection method for irregularity of ionospheric delay is needed to provide reliable correction. In this paper, index to detect irregularity of ionospheric delay is calculated from dispersive corrections and occurrence of irregularity is judged by comparing index and thresholds.

Network RTK generally uses a linear interpolation method by using the corrections from reference stations. This minimizes the spatial decorrelation error caused by the increase of distance between the reference station's baseline and user's baseline. However, tropospheric delay, a function of the meteorological data can cause a spatial decorrelation characteristic among reference stations within a network by local meteorological difference. A non-linear characteristic of tropospheric delay can deteriorate Network RTK performance. In this paper, the modeling of tropospheric delay irregularity is made from the data when the typhoon is occurred. By using this modeling, analyzing the effect of meteorological difference between reference stations on correction is performed. Finally, we analyze an effect of non-linear characteristics of tropospheric delay among reference stations to Network RTK user.
User Scheduling Algorithm Based on Signal Quality and Inter-User Interference for Outage Minimization in Full-Duplex Cellular Networks

In a full-duplex (FD) wireless cellular network, uplink (UL) users induce the severe inter-user interference to downlink (DL) users. Therefore, a user scheduling that makes a pair of DL user and UL user to use the same radio resource simultaneously influences the system performances significantly. In this paper, we first formulate an optimization problem for user scheduling to minimize the occurrence of outage, aiming to guarantee the quality of service of users, and then we propose a suboptimal user scheduling algorithm with low complexity. The proposed scheduling algorithm is designed in a way where the DL user with a worse signal quality has a higher priority to choose its UL user that causes less interference. Simulation results show that the FD system using the proposed user scheduling algorithm achieves the optimal performance and significantly decreases the outage probability compared with the conventional half-duplex cellular system.

In this paper, we want to able to reduce the time effectively about the analysis of protocol and development of protocol converter in industrial network. For this purpose, we developed the user protocol converter that can be to analysing the communication protocol in the industrial network. and also that is able to converting to user protocol and transmitting to another network. The developed user protocol converter was consist of S/W and H/W, and is supporting the Modbus, the NMEA0183 and the ethernet. The hardware main processor was used the AVR128, and placed the serial communication part and the ethernet part in converter board. The experiment results, we acquired very high transmission rate and conversion rate.

A meta-analysis is a statistical integration method that delivers an opportunity to overview the entire result of integrating and analyzing many quantitative research results. This study will find meaningful mediator variables for criterion variables that affects between pre and post in the metabolic syndrome studies, on the basis of the results of a meta analysis. We reviewed a total of 36 studies related the metabolic syndrome published in Korean journals between 2000 and 2015, where a cause and effect relationship is established between variables that are specified in the conceptual model of this study. In this meta-analysis, the path between pre and post in the waist circumference showed the biggest effect size (r = .420). The second biggest effect size (r = -.402) was found the path between pre and post in the high density lipoprotein cholesterol. By the way, one the smallest effect size (r = .234) was obtained the path between pre and post in the diastolic blood pressure. Thus, we present the theoretical and practical implications of these results.

With the development of economy and improving of people's living standards, people dietary needs will be achieved from subsistence to high nutrition and from high nutrition to healthy transformation. Mushroom as a kind of highly nutritious, low fat, rich vitamin food has a great interest among the people. This makes the mushroom into a new sunrise industry and it gradually from pure manual cultivation develops toward the fully automatic factory. In the process of mushroom factory production, regulation of environmental factors directly affects the yield and quality of mushroom. In related to the methods of mushroom cultivation, the recent technologies apply the new technology such as sensors and IT convergence services. And then cultivating mushroom is managed effectively. This paper in order to solve the above problems and construct an effective mushroom growth environment using technology such as humidity sensor construct an environment that can automatically adjust the humidity. This environment has important significance to improve the level of automation mushroom production, increase yield per unit area and quality of mushroom, increase economic efficiency of mushroom production, and enhance the competitiveness of mushroom production.
A Study of Constructing Automatic Display System for Effective Management Based on The Influence of Temperature on the Mushroom

Mushroom is a high in protein, low calorie food and has dietary fiber, vitamins, iron and minerals such as zinc. It is called that mushroom is one of the biggest concerns for healthy foods. When we make the artificial cultivation of mushroom, one of the greatest influence element is temperature. In this regard, farmers passively measure temperatures in the greenhouse as inaccurate way such as by the naked eyes. In this paper, we constructed a display system in order to improve the efficiency of manual management of temperature based on the influence of temperature on the mushroom. In related to the methods of mushroom cultivation, the recent technology apply the new technology such as sensors and IT convergence services. And then cultivating mushroom is managed effectively. In this paper, we implement an automatic display system for sensing data. By using this function, farmers could effectively manage environment needed to be grown mushroom, and anticipate the improvement of sales by increasing quality of mushrooms as well.

The results are subjective and research institutions, and specialized agencies to take advantage of shared, real-time cross-linkage between the credit card companies. It is difficult to crack down on emissions of air pollutants because it is quickly spreading into the atmosphere different from the other contaminants. We need improvement in the law for aggressive air pollution act because of difficult sampling.We study the measurement method which can measure the air pollutants and grasp the degree of contamination for preventing in advance the air pollution in this paper. We design and implement a module of mobile device for measuring Turbidity of plume with DOM in the way to take a photo in a convenient smart phone.

Recently Big Data management have a rapid increases interest in IT field, much research conducting to solve a problem of real-time processing to Big Data. Lots of resources are required for the ability to store data in real-time over the network but there is the problem of introducing an analyzing system due to aspect of high cost. Need of redesign of the system for low cost and high efficiency had been increasing to solve the problem. In this paper, the document type of database, MongoDB, is used for design a log management system based a document type of database, that is good at big data managing. The suggested log management system is more efficient than other method on log collection and processing, and it is strong on data forgery through the performance evaluation.

The low-density parity check(LDPC) code is being widely used due to its outperformed error-correction ability. The decoder of the quasi-cyclic LDPC(QC-LDPC) codes, a kind of LDPC codes, requires a multi-size cyclic shifter(MSCS) performing rotation of various sizes. The MSCS can be implemented with a Benes network, which requires a
switch if the number of data to be rotated is a multiple of 3. This paper proposes a control signal generation with lower complexity and a faster
switch. For the experiment, the proposed schemes are applied to the MSCS of an IEEE 802.16e WiMAX QC-LDPC code decoder. The result shows that the delay is reduced by about 8.7%.

This paper analyzes the phenomenon of drain induced barrier lowering(DIBL) for doping profiles in channel of asymmetric double gate(DG) MOSFET. The DIBL, the important short channel effect, is described as lowering of source barrier height by drain voltage. The analytical potential distribution is derived from Poisson's equation to analyze the DIBL, and the DIBL is observed according to the change of doping profile to influence on potential distribution. As a results, the DIBL is significantly influenced by projected range and standard projected deviation, the variables of channel doping profiles. The change of DIBL shows greatly in the range of high doping concentration such as
. The DIBL increases with decrease of channel length and increase of channel thickness, and with increase of bottom gate voltage and top/bottom gate oxide film thickness.
Design and Analysis of Decimation Filers with Minimal Distortion for a High Speed High Performance Sigma-Delta ADC

While the oversampling sigma-delta ADCs are known to have high resolution, they often suffer from SNDR losses when operated at a very high data clock. This paper presents a design and implementation of a decimation filter that provides minimum distortion at passband for high-speed sigma-delta ADC. The proposed digital decimation filter employs a butterworth structure. To evaluate the performance of the proposed decimation filter, we implemented a 1-bit, third-order, OSR=64 sigma-delta modulator followed by the proposed decimation filter. Using the simulation ad measurement, we compared the performance of the proposed decimation filter with a conventional CIC(cascaded integrator comb) decimation filter, which is commonly used in most sigma-delta ADCs. The measurement results show that the proposed decimation filter presents substantially lower distortion at passband and thus can provide must higher SNDR.

IoT management hub has to request the WLAN AP list of the accessible areas in a place that is installed, or choose a specific WLAN AP you want to connect in order to be connected to the Internet. the specific method also is required to input the password when the security key was set. As that way, IoT management hub needs both the display device and the input device to see the list of WLAN AP and to input the security key. If the IoT management hub is consist of them, It is difficult to achieve the objective of the miniaturization and cost reduction. In this paper, we propose a method to connect to a WLAN AP network using a smart-phone without the display device and the input device.
A Scheduling Algorithm for Servicing (m,k)-firm-based Request Data from RSU Using in VANETs

VANET is ad-hoc network in which vehicles are treated as node and these nodes are communicating with each other as well as RSUs on the road. In VANET, scheduling is a very important issue as the request data are to be delivered to the recipient vehicle properly and accurately. It is also critical that any request data which is sent to the vehicle is received by it in the time period for which the vehicle will be in range of RSU. RSU picks the one with the highest priority to serve based on the scheduling scheme. In this paper, we propose a scheduling algorithm to select the one with the highest priority in RSU, in which an RSU can transfer the overload requests to other RSUs. We use the modified DBP scheme to calculate the priority of request data. Simulation results show that our scheme outperforms other scheduling schemes under various conditions.

Nowadays, Mobile devices are now capable of supporting a wide range of applications. Unfortunately, some of applications demand an ever increasing computational power and mobile devices have limited resources due to their constraints, such as low processing power, limited memory, unpredictable connectivity, and limited battery life. To deal with mobile devices' constraints, researchers envision extending cloud computing services to mobile devices using virtualization techniques to shift the workload from mobile devices to a powerful computational infrastructure. Those techniques consist of migrating resource-intensive computations from a mobile device to the resource-rich cloud, or server (called nearby infrastructure). In this paper, we want to highlight on cloudlet architecture (nearby infrastructure with mobile devices), its functioning and in our future work, analyze effects of distance between cloudlet and mobile devices.

Smart factory has the function of integrated management of production process management, logistics management as a intelligent factory, it is also emerging as the core of new industry which converges ICT and manufacturing business. We suggested Smart factory logistics management system which embedded position tracking technology and the system converges ICT and IoT. This suggested system can manage all the processes from production to release by tracking route and position based on signal strength of bluetooth 4.0 beacon tag. For the more, we will expect to apply to the various type of factory environments like detachable installation, optimized management using sensor.

Internet of Things(IoT) using a variety of technologies in combination provides a convenient, elevated range of services to users. IoT has been noted in combining the fields of medical service in particular. However, with the advent and growing of IoT, the more medical services are evolving, security problems caused by leakage of personal health information will become more serious. U-Health and medical devices, which deal mainly the personal health information, is required to a high level of privacy and security of health information. Therefore, the introduction of the IoT in the healthcare industry requires the medical information security as a prerequisite. This study analyzes security status and trend of IoT, personal medical information leakage cases, the health information protection measures in accordance with the life cycle of medical information, and the standardized protection technologies.

Radioactive isotopes which are manufactured using a cyclotron in a radioisotope used for radiation diagnosis is affected by the production yield according to size and shape of the beam and beam uniform degree from irradiated location when the proton beam investigated the target by cyclotron. Therefore, in this paper developed the BPM(Beam Profile Monitor) device capable of measuring the beam cross-section at the cyclotron beam line. It was configured so as to be able to remote control the BPM device in LabView and used the BPM program it was to be able to easily monitor and display to analyze the graph of two-dimensional graph and a three-dimensional beam distribution numerical information of the beam obtained while scanning the tungsten wire to the X and Y axis. The time it takes to measure the beam can be confirmed 37seconds when step motor driving speed was 2000pps. Through a beam readjusted based on the measured beam distribution information by optimizing the beam distribution it can be made to maximize the RI production yield and contribute supply stabilization.

In the existing studies providing a method which do exercise according to music speed, the method was used which a user changes playing musics. However, if the method which a user changes directly playing musics is used, flow of exercise can be discontinued during searching musics when anyone want to play a fast music. In this paper, we designed the module which measures the number of steps from a user of wearable smart shoes based on the Arduino, and implemented the module so that the number of steps can be measured correctly by sending data to smart phone based on Android. And it is possible to measure moving distance and pace speed by utilizing a GPS in order to get the more accurate momentum. Also, we can measure more accurate calorie consumption than existing products by measuring the mean value of the calorie consumption for moving distance and the calorie consumption for the number of steps, give motivation of exercise by applying an algorithm of changing music genre according to pace speed, and increase the exercise effect at the same time.

Startup in the aging society is much harder than finding employment. However, we did an experimental research that the elderly are able to develop in the field of IoT via this education. Through this IT startup education, those people who can do develop and implement and they are able to start new business by develop new item. Installing education between hardware and software about Arduino and Scratch's methods have great effect on IT startup education for the elderly before solving problem which have existing programming education. While the IT startup education through IoT is more difficult subject compared to general education subject, this paper shows an easily accessible research outcome for the elderly through startup education. This paper proved that practical uses through the results.
A Study on Mixed Noise Removal using Pixel Direction Factors and Weighted Value Mask

Recently, digital image processing is being applied in various areas of broadcasting, communication, computer graphic and medical science. But, degradation of images occurs in the process of digital image acquisition, processing and transmission. Therefore, in order to remove the mixed noise, this paper suggested the image restoration algorithm to process salt and pepper noise with weighted filters according to 4 direction pixel changes after judging the noise and to process AWGN with weighted filters which have individually different characteristics. Regarding the processed results by applying Boat images which were corrupted by salt and pepper noise(P=40%), suggested algorithm showed the improvement by 1.33[dB], 1.41[dB], 0.51[dB] respectively compared with the existing CWMF, AWMF, MMF.

Internet of Things (IoT) is possibly the most widely discussed technological concept in today's technology circles. This technology is expected to dramatically change not only how we work but also how we live. The concept of IoT basically means a web of connected devices which can be controlled over a data network. With cost of technology required to control these devices going down and increasing internet connectivity through smartphones, IoT is expected to be an all pervasive technology in the next 10 years. In this paper, we study the technological landscape of this fast growing technology domain from an Intellectual Property (Patents) perspective. We find that the patent distribution in this domain is very fragmented with the top patent applicants in the field holding around 5% of the total patents. Especially, the US geography has seen the maximum patent filings and is closely followed by the big Asian markets of Japan and Korea.

The importance of disaster observation facilities and system are increasing around the world in order to predict and prevent water disasters, which cause serious damage to life and property. A performance test center was built to stabilize performance, compatibility, and reliability of devices, and to verify new S/W. The aim of this study is to make a guideline to build standard verifying system for hydrological observation devices by building the performance test center. In addition, efficiency of management and operation of hydrological devices can be enhanced through device analysis, maintenance, database building, and grade certificate publishment after the device test.

To obtain the system requirement specification in the beginning of the precision guidance and control system development, the effectiveness and reliability analysis for the system are necessary. The main purpose of this research is to obtain the system requirement specification by carrying out the effectiveness analysis using the modeling and simulation(M&S) scheme. M&S model is constructed using 6-DOF dynamic model, environment model, guidanc -navigation & control model. Assume that the navigation sensor is consist of inertial navigation sensor(INS) and doppler velocity log(DVL), and the speed and direction of current is environment parameter. The effectiveness analysis is carried out using circular error probability(CEP) and variance analyze scheme. Also, the effectiveness analysis is utilized for cost-performance analysis considering the cost of commercial INS and DVL sensor. This paper shows the high-level INS and the low-level DVL configure a high price-performance integrated navigation system.

In the field of electronic warfare applications, high voltage power supply(HVPS) for high power phased array transmitters must necessarily have an independent operating characteristics for driving mini TWTs. TWT independent operational characteristics, in order to run without interrupting the electronic warfare mission by maintaining the partial transmission function even when one of the TWT has occurred a failure, is known to be very important. In this paper, we describe the research on high-speed independent control system using a high-density HVPS, including FE modulators, hardware configuration and the FPGA in order to independently operate mini TWTs. Also, we have simulated some possible faults in phased array transmitters, and presents the test results to control a faulted TWT independently.
