Rationality only based on human experience and visuals takes huge toll on nation at the time of disasters. Accordingly, it is required to convert its system into national disaster-managing system based on governmental departments effective cooperation against catastrophic emergencies. Thus, this manuscript rejects empirical model of calamity measures and provides substituting prototype based on u-Gov which utilizes UT service from the developed countries' cases. Moreover, in order to provide nation's administrative services, the paper suggests alternative for politic issues which realizes a new incorporated control towel reflecting policies.

This research suggests critical factors affecting success and failure of several commercial mobile operating systems from Palm OS appearing in to main mobile OSs appearing in 2013. For this, we analyses several mobile operating cases, elicit factors affecting success and failure of mobile OS, and conduct ID3 based inductive learning analyses based on elicited factors and values in case dataset. Through this, we draw rules in success and failure of mobile OS and suggest strategic implications for the commercial success of mobile OS in perspective of innovation and globalization.
Design of Dualband Meander Microstrip Antenna for WBAN

In this paper, Dualband meander microstrip antenna is proposed for Wireless Body Area Network application. Designed antenna is mounted on the phantom to maintain a constant distance of the substrate, and studied the characteristics related to change in several meaningful parameters to improve performance. Characteristics of antenna, returnloss, radiation pattern, gain, bandwidth, are analyzed using Computer Simulation Technologes(CST) software. The proposed antenna operates at 4.33Ghz and 6.09GHz ~ 9.88GHz for UWB. The antenna showed that returnloss and -10dB bandwidth are -42.30dB and 410Mhz at 4.33GHz, maximum -29.11dB and 3.75GHz at 6.1GHz ~ 9.8GHz.

This paper analyzed interference impact between wireless headset and Wireless Fidelity which get a high possibility of simultaneously operating in the Industry Science Medical(ISM) bands. Analysis methods of Minimum Coupling Loss(MCL) and Monte Carlo(MC) were applied by using the characters and parameters referenced to Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers(IEEE) 802.11b. The protection distance between interferer (WiFi transmitter) and victim (Wireless headset receiver) was calculated through the MCL. The protection distance was obtained for the case of single interferer, and the maximum allowable number of multiple interferers was computed according to the cell radius of a victim system to meet 5 % below of interference probability by using a statistical analysis based on the MC method. The analysis results are expected to be used as a guideline to coexist the wireless headset and low power devices in the ISM band.
Data-Driven Signal Decomposition using Improved Ensemble EMD Method

EMD is a fully data-driven signal processing method without using any predetermined basis function and requiring any user parameters setting. However EMD experiences a problem of mode mixing which interferes with decomposing the signal into similar oscillations within a mode. To overcome the problem, EEMD method was introduced. The algorithm performs the EMD method over an ensemble of the signal added independent identically distributed white noise of the same standard deviation. Even so EEMD created problems when the decomposition is complete. The ensemble of different signal with added noise may produce different number of modes and the reconstructed signal includes residual noise. This paper propose an modified EEMD method to overcome mode mixing of EMD, to provide an exact reconstruction of the original signal, and to separate modes with lower cost than EEMD's. The experimental results show that the proposed method provides a better separation of the modes with less number of sifting iterations, costs 20.87% for a complete decomposition of the signal and demonstrates superior performance in the signal reconstruction, compared with EEMD.
Performance Evaluation of D2D Advertisement Dissemination Algorithms with Maximum Distance and Transmission Efficiency Based Relay Selections

In this paper, we evaluated the performance of D2D advertisement dissemination algorithms with maximum-distance and transmission-efficiency based relay selections with respect to the total number of successfully received users and transmission efficiency. To assume more practical environment, we took into account pre-defined target-areas based on the information of user density and the limit for the maximum number of relay users. Through the simulations we compared the performance results of both D2D advertisement dissemination algorithms with maximum-distance and transmission-efficiency based relay selections according to increment of the number of sectors. And then, we analysed the superiority of algorithm with transmission-efficiency based relay selections more than maximum-distance based relay selections.
Performance Evaluation of OFDM Systems Using Multiuser Diversity

Recently, multiuser diversity(MUD) technique is used to improve the performance of OFDM transmission systems. With STBC antenna diversity technique, the performance of OFDM systems can be also improved. Pilot symbol is used for the channel estimation in OFDM systems. However, imperfect channel estimates in this systems degrade the performance. The performance of MUD STBC OFDM systems using pilot symbol, gauged by the bit error rate, is analyzed considering the channel estimation error. Result shows that MUD can improve the required power by a factor of approximately 5 dB for users number 32.
Secrecy Performance Analysis of One-Bit Feedback-Based OSTBC in Cross-Polarized MIMO Channels

In this paper, we consider wiretap channels in the presence of an eavesdropper assuming spatially correlated MIMO(multiple-input multiple-output) channels, where we analyze a physical layer security performance of orthogonal space-time block code(OSTBC) using one-bit feedback assuming cross polarized antennas at each node. In this paper, we present a method to select a transmit-antenna group for OSTBC using one-bit feedback(O-OSTBC) and compare secrecy outage probabilities of various transmit-antenna grouping methods. Especially, we propose an efficient transmit-antenna grouping method by comparing secrecy outage probabilities of O-OSTBC and conventional OSTBC in highly correlated MIMO channels.
A Performance Comparison of Routing Protocols for Mobile Ad hoc Networks using the NS-3

In this paper, we carried out performance comparison of four routing protocols that had been proposed for mobile ad hoc networks using the NS-3 network simulator. Those four routing protocols consist of two proactive routing protocols, DSDV(destination-sequenced distance vector) and OLSR(optimized link state routing), and two reactive routing protocols, AODV(ad-hoc on-demand distance vector) and DSR(dynamic source routing). Two performance metrics, system throughput and packet delivery ratio, are adopted and performance evaluation was carried out in a square communication area where each communicating mobile node moves independently. Numerical results show that the AODV routing protocol provides the best performance among those four routing protocols.
Design and Implementation of NMEA2000 Protocol Application for Marine Monitoring System

Recently, due to the variety and complexity of marine electronics communication devices, much research has been done to adopt the novel communication protocol. Among them, NMEA2000 protocol, is adopted as standardized protocol to the next generation ship. In this paper, we design and implement the conversion algorithm for sensor protocol based on NMEA2000, and analog data module which convert data format between NMEA2000, CAN, Ethernet, RS232. The present study was designed to implement user-based data monitoring system by supporting various communication protocols through the development and application of key technologies through NMEA2000.
A Study on MAC Protocol Design for Mobile Healthcare

Mobile healthcare is a fusion of information technology and biotechnology and is a new type of health management service to keep people's health at anytime and anywhere without regard to time and space. The WBAN(Wireless Body Area Network) technology that collects bio signals and the data analysis and monitoring technology using mobile devices are essential for serving mobile healthcare. WBAN consisting of users with mobile devices meet another WBAN during movement, WBANs transmit data to the other media. Because of WBAN conflict, several nodes transmit data in same time slot so a collision will occur, resulting in the data transmission being failed and need more energy for re-transmission. In this thesis, we proposed a MAC protocol for WBAN with mobility to solve these problems. First, we proposed a superframe structure for WBAN. The proposed superframe consists of a TDMA(Time Division Muliple Access) based contention access phase with which a node can transmit data in its own time slot and a contention phase using CSMA/CA algorithm. Second, we proposed a network merging algorithm for conflicting WBAN based on the proposed MAC protocol. When a WBAN with mobility conflicts with other WBAN, data frame collision is reduced through network reestablishment. Simulations are performed using a Castalia based on the OMNeT++ network simulation framework to estimate the performance of the proposed superframe and algorithms. We estimated the performance of WBAN based on the proposed MAC protocol by comparing the performance of the WBAN based on IEEE 802.15.6. Performance evaluation results show that the packet transmission success rate and energy efficiency are improved by reducing the probability of collision using the proposed MAC protocol.
Detection of Fall Direction using a Velocity Vector in the Android Smartphone Environment

Fall-related injuries are the most common cause of accidental death for the elderly and the most frequent work-related injuries in construction sites. Due to the growing popularity of smartphones, there has been a number of research work related to the use of sensors embedded in the smartphone for fall detection. Falls can be detected easily by measuring the magnitude and direction of acceleration vectors. In general, the direction of the acceleration vector does not show the object movement, but the velocity vector directly indicates the tangential direction in which the object is moving. In this paper, we proposed a new method for computing the fall direction based on the characteristics of the velocity vector extracted from the accelerometer.
Context Recognition Using Environmental Sound for Client Monitoring System

This paper presents a context recognition method using environmental sound signals, which is applied to a mobile-based client monitoring system. Seven acoustic contexts are defined and the corresponding environmental sound signals are obtained for the experiments. To evaluate the performance of the context recognition, MFCC and LPCC method are employed as feature extraction, and statistical pattern recognition method are used employing GMM and HMM as acoustic models, The experimental results show that LPCC and HMM are more effective at improving context recognition accuracy compared to MFCC and GMM respectively. The recognition system using LPCC and HMM obtains 96.03% in recognition accuracy. These results demonstrate that LPCC is effective to represent environmental sounds which contain more various frequency components compared to human speech. They also prove that HMM is more effective to model the time-varying environmental sounds compared to GMM.
Mixed Tasks Scheduling Using Improved Synthetic Utilization on Multiprocessor Systems

Synthetic utilization on multiprocessor system is not considered periodic tasks, except scheduling methods for aperiodic tasks where one of the real-time aperiodic tasks is a scheduling method. But really aperiodic tasks scheduling method is composed of mixed task types. Aperiodic task scheduling method guarantee an analysis of the schedualibility of aperiodic task. The set of mixed tasks periodic and aperiodic tasks scheduling method uses improved synthetic utilization that is presented in this paper. The new method shows that schedulability increases aperiodic server method.
Tag-Reader Mutual Authentication Protocol for secure RFID environments

Tags and Readers is receiving and sending the data using the wireless communication in the RFID environment. Therefore, it could allow an attacker to participate in the network without the physical constraints, which can be easily exposed to a variety of attacks, such as taps and data forgery. Also, it is not easy to apply the security techniques to defend external attacks because the resource constraints of RFID tags is high. In this paper, new tag-reader mutual authentication protocol is proposed to protect the external cyber attacks such as spoofing attacks, replay attacks, traffic analysis attacks, location tracking attacks. The performance evaluation of the proposed mutual authentication protocol is performed and the simulation results are presented.
Enhancement of HCB Tree for Improving Retrieval Performance and Dynamic Environments

CB tree represents the binary trie by a compact binary sequence. However, retrieval time grows fast since the more keys stored in the trie, longer the binary sequences are. In addition it is inefficient for frequent key insertion/deletion. HCB tree is a hierarchical CB tree consisting of small binary tries. However it can not avoid shift operations and have to scan an additional table to refer child or parent trie. In order to improve retrieval performance and avoid shift operations when keys are inserted or deleted, we in this paper represent each separated trie by a full binary trie and then assign the unique identifier to it. Finally the theoretical evaluations show that both the proposed approach and HCB tree provides better than CB tree for key retrieval. The proposed approach shows the highest performance in case of key insertion/deletion and moreover requires only 71%~89% of storage as compared with CB tree.
Design and Implementation of Turbidity Measurement Module of Plume using a Digital Camera

Smoke generated from business establishments and factories will not only cause air pollution but also have a significant impact on the human body. Generally, the most common method for measuring the turbidity of the plume generated from the stack is a method of observing by the transmissometer mounted in the chimney or Method 9 from the US EPA(Environmental Protection Agency) which is a visual method of determining plume turbid emitted from stationary sources. However, these methods need a lot of cost to build and maintain. In this paper, we build a plume turbidity measurement module programs using a digital camera. We design and implement a module which acquires the pictures of the plume using a digital camera and measures the turbidity of it using the DOM(Digital Optical Method). In addition, we demonstrate the excellence by comparing and analyzing implemented module and other methods.
Hardware Design of High Performance ALF in HEVC Encoder for Efficient Filter Coefficient Estimation

This paper proposes the hardware architecture of high performance ALF(Adaptive Loop Filter) for efficient filter coefficient estimation. In order to make the original image which has high resolution and high quality into highly compressed image effectively and also, subjective image quality into improved image, the ALF technique of HEVC performs a filtering by estimating filter coefficients using statistical characteristics of image. The proposed ALF hardware architecture is designed with a 2-step pipelined architecture for a reduction in performance cycle by analysing an operation relationship of Cholesky decomposition for the filter coefficient estimation. Also, in the operation process of the Cholesky decomposition, a square root operation is designed to reduce logic area, computation time and computation complexity by using the multiplexer, subtracter and comparator. The proposed hardware architecture is designed using Xilinx ISE 14.3 Vertex-7 XC7VCX485T FPGA device and can support 4K UHD@40fps in real time at a maximum operation frequency of 186MHz.
A Design of Efficient Scan Converter for Image Compression CODEC

Data in a image compression codec are processed with a specific regular block size. The processing order of block sized data is changed in specific function blocks and the data is packed in memory and read by a new sequence. To maintain a regular throughput rate, double buffering is normally used that interleaving two block sized memory to do concurrent read and write operations. Single buffering using only one block sized memory can be adopted to the simple data reordering, but when a complicate reordering occurs, irregular address changes prohibit from implementing adequate address generating for single buffering. This paper shows that there is a predictable and recurring regularity of changing address access orders within a finite updating counts and suggests an effective method to implement. The data reordering function using suggested idea is designed with HDL and implemented with TSMC 0.18 CMOS process library. In various scan blocks, it shows more than 40% size reduction compared with a conventional method.
A Study on Design of Microstrip Patch Antenna for Dedicated Short Range Communication

As the development and distribution of the intelligent transport system is spreading recently and some of the services are commercialized through a pilot project, interest in DSRC with high utilization is increasing and antennas for roadside and on board equipment are being studied. A single patch was used for a vehicle antenna due to the requests of miniaturization of size, but there was performance degradation in most cases due to miniaturization. In addition, some methods to improve performance have been used in the antennas that were previously researched using the arrays, but they have the disadvantages of bulkiness in size of the antennas when using the arrays. Therefore, in this paper, the CPW fed microstrip patch antenna with the simple structure of being compact and easy to produce, which can be used in the OBU of DSRC, was designed.
Analysis of Subthreshold Swing for Channel Length of Asymmetric Double Gate MOSFET

The change of subthreshold swing for channel length of asymmetric double gate(DG) MOSFET has been analyzed. The subthreshold swing is the important factor to determine digital chracteristics of transistor and is degraded with reduction of channel. The subthreshold swing for channel length of the DGMOSFET developed to solve this problem is investigated for channel thickness, oxide thickness, top and bottom gate voltage and doping concentration. Especially the subthreshold swing for asymmetric DGMOSFET to be able to be fabricated with different top and bottom gate structure is investigated in detail for bottom gate voltage and bottom oxide thickness. To obtain the analytical subthreshold swing, the analytical potential distribution is derived from Possion's equation, and Gaussian distribution function is used as doping profile. As a result, subthreshold swing is sensitively changed according to top and bottom gate voltage, channel doping concentration and channel dimension.
Design of Decimal Floating-Point Adder for High Speed Operation with Leading Zero Anticipator

In this paper, a DFPA(decimal floating-point adder) designed a pipeline structure that uses a LZA(leading zero anticipator) to reduce critical route to shorten delay to improve the speed of operation processing. The evaluation and verification of performance of proposed DFPA applied the Flowrian tool with simulation and Cyclone III FPGA was set as the target on the Quartus II tool for the synthesis. The proposed method compared and verified to proposed the other method using same input data. As a result, the performance of proposed method is improved 11.2% and 5.9% more than L.K.Wang's method and etc.. Also, it is confirmed that improvement of operation processing speed and reduction of the number of delay elements on critical path.
Duplicated ECG signal decomposition

This paper presents a new method to decompose a duplicated ECG signal, which is measured from two people, to two individual ECG signals. In paper, it is shown that the duplicated ECG signal can be decomposed, provided that their SAECG signals are known. As the SAECG signal is the average of a ECG signal, it is a feature to identify individual ECG signals from the duplicated signal. Since the ECG signal is nearly periodic, so-called heart-rate, the period of each ECG signal can be found by using the autocorrelation of the duplicated signal, That is, the autocorrelation has high peaks at the multiple instants of heart-rate of each person. With the heart-rate of each person obtained by some processing, all R-peaks are identified by the SAECG signals. To be concrete, the SAECG signal of each person is repeatedly placed at the R-peak instants with his heart-rate, and the weight of each SAECG signal is computed by LMSE optimization. Finally, as adding the error signal in the LMSE optimization processing to the weighted SAECG signal, each individual ECG signal is obtained. In experimental results, we demonstrate that the duplicated ECG signal is successfully decomposed into two ECG signals.
A Study on Home Healthcare Convergence for IEEE 11073 Standard

Medical paradigm shift has been based on disease treatment into wellness care so that changes need more IT-based smart medical services. In addition, individual based smart devices are more focused on healthcare services and can provide access to personal medical information, health conditions and social welfare managed by users. In this paper, IEEE11073 PHD (Personal Health Devices) and HL7 (Health Level 7) standards of legacy healthcare devices are developed for communicating with each individual based smart device and providing healthcare service in smart TV environment through a unified home healthcare gateway.
A development of a Digital tongue diagnosis system using the tongue color analysis of the each taste region

A new tongue examination model by using color analysis according to the taste division of tongue. The proposed system consists of a tongue image acquisition in a predefined template, taste region segmentation, color distribution analysis and abnormality decision of tongue by color analysis using Hue-Saturation histograms and the part of a mobile application service. We divided 4 basic taste(bitter, sweet, salty and sour) regions and performed color distribution analysis targeting each region under HSI(Hue Saturation Intensity) color model. To minimize the influence of illumination, the histograms of H and S components only except U are utilized. Using the analyzed results, the abnormality is discriminated by the criteria of the histogram range of normal tongues. Finally, a self tongue diagnosis system which can be used anytime and anywhere on mobile environment.
Tracking and Recognition of vehicle and pedestrian for intelligent multi-visual surveillance systems

In this paper, we propose a tracking and recognition of pedestrian/vehicle for intelligent multi-visual surveillance system. The intelligent multi-visual surveillance system consists of several fixed cameras and one calibrated PTZ camera, which automatically tracks and recognizes the detected moving objects. The fixed wide-angle cameras are used to monitor large open areas, but the moving objects on the images are too small to view in detail. But, the PTZ camera is capable of increasing the monitoring area and enhancing the image quality by tracking and zooming in on a target. The proposed system is able to determine whether the detected moving objects are pedestrian/vehicle or not using the SVM. In order to reduce the tracking error, an improved camera calibration algorithm between the fixed cameras and the PTZ camera is proposed. Various experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed system.
Channel allocation scheme according to the user's location via IR from the VLC systems

In this paper, we proposed Channel allocation scheme according to the user's location with IR. In VLC System, LED can generate various colors of light by controlling the mixing ratio of each individual RGB color element. Thus, each RGB channel will have a different signal power, and each channel will have different performance. This proposed system using Visible light(RGB) as way to transmit signals, it depends on the mixture RGB, which decided the color of light, moreover, each things determined their performance. However, if the signal were fixed allocated RGB to transmit such as the original system, the importance of the each signals a different occur the limit on the quality of signals. To solve this problem in this paper, according to the RGB mixture ratios analyze the performance for the LED, which analyzed based on allocating the signal by transmitting to improve the quality was about how researched. In addition, our proposed system is able to improve the performance of BER and satisfied the Qos to desire users.
Maximizing the Sum of Weights of Points in a Given Square

In this paper, when points with weights are given in a plane, for an arbitrary constant r, we shall find a square area S such that the sum of weights of points belonging to S is maximized. If the length of the side of S is not given, the problem to find arbitrary rectangular area has been studied. In this paper, we will consider the problem to find a square area with a side of a length r when a constant r is given. We will solve the one dimensional problem in dynamic environment and propose an algorithm with the time complexity of O(nlogn+rn).
Image Restoration Algorithm using Lagrange Interpolation in Mixed Noise Environments

Image media is used for the internet, computers and digital cameras as part of the core services of multimedia. Digital images can be easily acquired and processed, due to the development of digital home appliances and personal computers' application software. However, image degradation occurs by various external causes in the acquisition, processing and transmitting process of digital images, and its main cause is known to be noise. Therefore, this study proposed and conducted the simulation of image restoration filter algorithm that processes impulse noise and Gaussian noise by applying Lagrange interpolation and spatial weighted method according to distance, respectively. Development and Application of a Smart Learning System based on Problem-solving Strategies for Children with Learning Disabilities

The purpose of this thesis is to develop and implement a smart learning system based on problem-solving strategy for children with learning disabilities. The proposed system is developed to increase general study ability and problem-solving ability of children with learning disabilities. The proposed system has the following characteristics. First, the general study ability and problem-solving ability can be increased by adopting problem-solving strategy. Second, both smart application and SNS can be used in the proposed system. Third, study self-efficacy can be increased by adopting step-by-step learning. The following results are obtained after applying the proposed system to some children with learning disabilities. First, their general study ability is increased. Second, their problem-solving ability is increased. Third, confidence in self-efficacy, sense of accomplishment, and self-confidence in study are improved. In additions, utilization ability in information and information equipment is also increased.
An Energy and Delay Efficient Hybrid MAC Protocol for Multi-Hop Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, we propose an energy efficient hybrid MAC protocol for multi-hop wireless sensor networks. The proposed MAC protocol used a hybrid mechanism, in which contention-based MAC protocol and contention free MAC protocol are combined. The sensor nodes located far from the sink node usually send few data packet since they try to send measured data by themselves. So contention-based MAC protocol is useful among them. But other nodes located near sink node usually have lots of data packets since they plays as a relay node. Contention-based MAC protocol among them is not suitable. Using contention-based MAC protocol in heavy data traffic environment, packet collisions and transmission delay may increase. In this paper, slot assignment between sender nodes by sink node is used. The proposed mechanism is efficient in energy and latency. Results showed that our MAC protocol outperformed other protocol in terms of data packet delivery delay and energy consumption.
Solar Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Network Simulator

Most existing simulators for wireless sensor networks(WSNs) are modeling battery-based sensors and providing MAC and routing protocols designed for battery-based WSNs. However, recently, as energy harvesting sensor systems have been studied more extensively, there is an increasing need for appropriate simulators, but few related studies have employed such simulators. Unlike existing simulators, simulators for energy harvesting WSNs require a new energy model that is integrated with the energy-harvesting model, rechargeable battery model, and energy-consuming model. Additionally, it should enable the applications of the well-known MAC and routing protocols designed for energy-harvesting WSNs, as well as a user-friendly interface for convenience. In this work, we design and implement a user-friendly simulator for solar energy-harvesting WSNs.
Development of Three-Dimensional Gamma-ray Camera

Radiation source imaging system is essential for protecting of radiation leakage accidents and minimizing damages from the radioactive materials, and is expected to play an important role in the nuclear plant decommissioning area. In this study, the stereoscopic camera principle was applied to develop a new radiation imaging device technology that can extract the radiation three-dimensional position information. This radiation three-dimensional imaging device (K3-RIS) was designed as a compact structure consisting of a radiation sensor, a CCD camera, and a pan-tilt only. It features the acquisition of stereoscopic radiation images by position change control, high-resolution detection by continuous scan mode control, and stereoscopic image signal processing. The performance analysis test of K3-RIS was conducted for a gamma-ray source(Cs-137) in radiation calibration facility. The test result showed that a performance error with less than 3% regardless of distances of the objects.
