In Korea mobile phone subscribers exceeded 1 million people in 1995, and ten million people in 1998. Prevalence of the mobile phone increased dramatically over 110% compared to the population. Almost every family members including children uses more than one mobile terminal. Mobile phone is obviously more necessary good than washer, vacuum cleaner and passenger car. Our daily life are conveniently positioned with mobile communication, but communication related costs including the price of the device and service charges become a big burden on the household. But the government does not seem to do the right role at the right time to prevent the market failure to maximize consumer welfare and social welfare through supporting fair competition. This principal-agent problem issues of mobile communication policies will be understood in perspective of public choice against joint use of the mobile communication network, number portability, separation of phone distribution and phone service, network neutrality, mobile phone subsidy since the early 1990s when mobile phone service was introduced in Korea.

In this paper, we designed and fabricated the EM wave absorber consisted of Sendust for suppressing EM wave noise PCB in ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) band of 2.4 GHz. We fabricated several samples with different composition ratios of some kinds of Sendust to CPE (Chlorinated Ploy-ethylene) as a binder, and it was confirmed that the optimum composition ratio of absorbing materials was Flaked Sendust : CPE
32×32 Full-Rate Massive MIMO Using Quasi-Orthogonal Space-Time Block Code (QOSTBC)

In this paper, we present the bit-error rate (BER) performance of quasi-orthogonal space-time block code (QOSTBC) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system employing up to 32 transmit and receive antennas. The QOSTBC, due to its advantages in transmission rate and decoding complexity, is an important transmit diversity scheme for more than 2 transmit antennas. As massive MIMO implies very large number of antennas, practically at least more than 15 antennas, a different number of transmit and receive antennas (i.e.
) using QOSTBC for the massive MIMO system are considered. The BER performance of the massive MIMO with antennas up to
using BPSK modulation scheme is analyzed. Simulation results show that the full-rate massive MIMO systems with QOSTBC give a significant performance improvement due to increasing diversity effect, compared with previously considered massive MIMO systems.
Adaptive Transmission Techniques for the Availability Assurance of Long-distance Radio Link

In Microwave Radio Link, it is necessary to consider the radio fading to consistently assure the radio link of the high quality as the distance. If the fixed modulation is used for the microwave radio link, it is difficult to keep the high availability of link for the case of the long distance. Adaptive Modulation(AM) provide good quality on microwave link, but the application of the only-AM is not enough to provide the availability assurance due to the fluctuating characteristics of link capacity. Our previous study has proposed the improvement method of transmission in association with the distance, however the previous method needed to make up for the common application. There was no suggestion of a mathematical formula with a variable. In this paper, we propose an optimized Adaptive Transmission Techniques with calculating formula of the priority traffic transmission capacity based on AM in consideration of the fade margin for the availability assurance as the distance and the comparison of the channel bandwidth for Long-distance Radio Link.
Risk Situation Recognition Using Facial Expression Recognition of Fear and Surprise Expression

This paper proposes an algorithm for risk situation recognition using facial expression. The proposed method recognitions the surprise and fear expression among human`s various emotional expression for recognizing risk situation. The proposed method firstly extracts the facial region from input, detects eye region and lip region from the extracted face. And then, the method applies Uniform LBP to each region, discriminates facial expression, and recognizes risk situation. The proposed method is evaluated for Cohn-Kanade database image to recognize facial expression. The DB has 6 kinds of facial expressions of human being that are basic facial expressions such as smile, sadness, surprise, anger, disgust, and fear expression. The proposed method produces good results of facial expression and discriminates risk situation well.
A Method of Distributed Parallel Processing based on Multi-Server for Improving Encryption Performance

As personal information protection act was recently enforced, a mechanism which saves encrypted personal information has been used to Information Security systems. To use the mechanism, a millions of personal information which are already saved on the system first have to be encrypted. At the moment, it may cause a resource scarcity on server, and also take a lot of time. Thus, this paper suggests a way to encrypt millions of personal information by using multi-server with low specifications and measures its performance on test environment. And, I was compared with the performance of high- specification server. As a compared result, the mechanism with three devices by parallel and distributed processing improved its performance by 128%, and the mechanism with five devices by the same processing improved its performance by 158%.
Effective Scheme for Comparative Search of Clinical Terms from Standard Clinical Terminology

SNOMED CT, which is a standard clinical terminology, imposes an ambiguity problem of terminology selections caused by its huge expressive power and structural complexity. It is very difficult to distinguish similar terms and to select an appropriate term among them within short consultation hours. This paper analyzes the ambiguity problem and proposes a novel scheme for comparative search of similar terms. The proposed scheme provides a differential view of similar terms by defining a "is-not-a" relationship based on the hierarchical structure of the concepts. The result of this work improves the utilization of SNOMED CT such that medical officers can efficiently select an appropriate term among similar terms which represents patient`s status adequately.
A Study on Recommender Technique Applying User Activity and Time Information

As the use of internet and mobile devices became generalized, users utilizing search and recommendation in order to find the information they want in the midst of various websites have become common. In order to recommend more appropriate item for users, this paper proposes a recommendation technique that reflects the users` preference change following the flow of time by applying users` activity and time information. The proposed technique, after classifying the data in categories including the tag information that is considered at the time of choosing the items, only uses the data that users` preference change following the flow of time is reflected. For the users who prefer the corresponding category, the item that is extracted by applying tag information to collaboration filtering technique is recommended and for general users, items are recommended based on the ranking calculated by using the tag information. The proposed technique was experimented by using hetrec2011-movielens-2k data set. The experiment result indicated that the proposed technique has been more enhanced the accuracy, appropriacy, compared to item-based, user-based method.

LED, the next-generation light source, rapidly develops and has advantages of low power, high efficiency, and long life. Accordingly, an interest in lightings by using LED rises. If emotional lighting is implemented by using LED, all colors can be represented by using 3 primary colors of light, differently from the conventional single-color lighting. LED emotional lightings which can control human emotions continue to be developed thanks to these advantages. This study was conducted to design an algorithm for expressing LED emotional lighting in line with the situation and temperature by extracting colors for concentration and resting situations in indoor environment and mixing them with colors of the temperature felt by user. The LED emotional lighting designed with a neuro-fuzzy system was found to have effects on user`s emotions during concentration and resting.

In this paper, a 50ns 256-kb EEPROM IP for MCU (micro controller unit) ICs is designed. The speed of data sensing is increased in the read mode by using a proposed DB sensing circuit of differential amplifier type which uses the reference voltage, and the switching speed is also increased by reducing the total DB parasitic capacitance as a distributed DB structure is separated into eight. Also, the access time is reduced reducing a precharging time of BL in the read mode removing a 5V NMOS transistor in the conventional RD switch, and the reliability of output data can be secured by obtaining the differential voltage (

Analysis of Conduction-Path Dependent Off-Current for Asymmetric Double Gate MOSFET

Asymmetric double gate(DG) MOSFET is a novel transistor to be able to reduce the short channel effects. This paper has analyzed a off current for conduction path of asymmetric DGMOSFET. The conduction path is a average distance from top gate the movement of carrier in channel happens, and a factor to change for oxide thickness of asymmetric DGMOSFET to be able to fabricate differently top and bottom gate oxide thickness, and influenced on off current for top gate voltage. As the conduction path is obtained and off current is calculated for top gate voltage, it is analyzed how conduction path influences on off current with parameters of oxide thickness and channel length. The analytical potential distribution of series form is derived from Poisson`s equation to obtain off current. As a result, off current is greatly changed for conduction path, and we know threshold voltage and subthreshold swing are changed for this reasons.
Analysis of Subthreshold Swing for Ratio of Channel Length and Thickness of Asymmetric Double Gate MOSFET

This paper has analyzed the variation of subthreshold swing for the ratio of channel length and thickness for asymmetric double gate MOSFET. The asymmetric double gate MOSFET has the advantage that the factors to control the short channel effects increase since top and bottom gate structure can be fabricated differently. The degradation of transport property due to rapid increase of subthreshold swing can be specially reduced in the case of reduction of channel length. However, channel thickness has to be reduced for decrease of channel length from scaling theory. The ratio of channel length vs. thickness becomes the most important factor to determine subthreshold swing. To analyze hermeneutically subthreshold swing, the analytical potential distribution is derived from Poisson`s equation, and conduction path and subthreshold swing are calculated for various channel length and thickness. As a result, we know conduction path and subthreshold swing are changed for the ratio of channel length vs. thickness.
A Seamless N-Screen Service Technology for Disseminating Disaster Informations

A by-pass path in wireless sensor networks is the alternative path which be able to forward data when a routing path is being broken. One reason of depleting energy is occurred by the path. The method for solving prior to addressed the problem is proposed. However, this method may deplete radio resource. The best path has advantage that network lifetime of sensor nodes is prolonged; on the contrary, in order to maintain the best path it have to share their information between the entire nodes. In this paper, we propose the best path searching algorithm in the distributed three dimensional sensor networks. Through the neighboring informations sharing in the proposed method, the proposed algorithm can decide the best k-path as well as the extension of network lifetime.

Recently, the government is promoting the new renewable energy spread and expansion policy. To this end, the investment and the research is ongoing on the core of the ESS (Energy Storage System) for the Smart Grid that is being spread around the industrialized countries. US and European countries have also conducted a variety of ESS related systems maintenance and improvement in order to induce the activation of the ESS industry. On the other hand, our country has no law and institutional foundation for the introduction of activation ESS, and there is no objective basis for the economic impact of the introduction of the ESS. Therefore, spread and activation of the ESS is not properly conducted. In this paper, the economics of the ESS based on the Korea electric pricing system for the spread and activation of the ESS effectively proposes a technique for analysis. To do this, define the ESS operating model, and propose the best economic analysis method economic analysis comparing each operating model.

As the amount of vehicle`s diagnostics data increases, the actors in automotive ecosystem will encounter difficulties to perform a real time analysis in order to simulate or to design new services according to the data gathered from the connected cars. In this paper, we have conducted a study of a Big Data solution that expresses the essential deep analytics to process and analyze vast quantities of vehicles on board diagnostics data generated by cars. Hadoop and its ecosystems have been deployed to process a large data and delivered useful outcomes that may be used by actors in automotive ecosystem to deliver new services to car owners. As the Intelligent transport system is involved to guarantee safety, reduce rate of crash and injured in the accident due to speed, addressing big data solution based on vehicle diagnostics data is upcoming to monitor real time outcome from it and making collection of data from several connected cars, facilitating reliable processing and easier storage of data collected.
A Design of N-Screen based Monitoring System for Marine-Facility

The convergence of IT technology and marine facilities monitoring system is needed for effective monitoring systems to marine facilities. Especially the spread of smart device such as smart phone, smart pad, smart TV provide an environment that can check the status of the marine facility for marin facilities manager. However, smart phones and smart pads are used in a variety of OS used. Thus the monitoring system of the various service environments is difficult. In addition, There is inconvenience that must individually developed monitoring system for each device. In order to solve this problem NMMS (N-Screen Marine-facility Monitoring System) is proposed. NMMS is consist of Real-time monitoring system, Fault diagnosis system, Data storage system. To improve variety of smart devices accessibility, we use HTML 5. Through NMMS, marine facilities manager can use smart device such as PC, Notebook, smart phone, smart pad for marine facilities monitoring.
Development of Alarm Service Using Doppler Radar Sensor

The paper produced an application that used Doppler radar sensor to prevent bicycle related accidents. Doppler radar sensor detects any approaching object and gives warning to the user through the danger detection algorithm of the application. The danger detection algorithm determines danger by comparing relative speed using the sensed approaching object and Doppler frequency. It also sends SMS to the preset contact to let him/her be informed of the critical situation in which the user lies when an accident happens. The experiment result showed that the algorithm judged danger by detecting the approach status and speed as well as sent out SMS to the set contact under the assumption that there was an accident.
Real-time Reefer Container Monitoring System based on IoT

In this paper, we propose the reefer container monitoring system that not only monitors internal temperature, humidity of reefer container but also tracks the real-time location using GPS. It consists of a tag of information of situation using 433MHz RF transmitter(communication), GPS to track the real-time location and a device using WCDMA/GSM communication to transmit information to the server. We tested by applying the proposed system in reefer containers with yellow melons, melons transported from Korea to Singapore to track the location and check the temperature and the humidity. The result of this test is that there is a temperature difference around 1.7 degree depending on the position of inside of container and maintains the humidity stably about 97%. If we apply this proposed system to agricultural marketing, it is possible to get the time that fruits start to decay and minimize the loss of fruits by decaying during shipping.
Object Tracking Using CAM shift with 8-way Search Window

This research aims to suggest methods to improve object tracking performance by combining CAM shift algorithm with 8-way search window, and reduce arithmetic operation by reducing the number of frame used for tracking. CAM shift has its adverse effect in tracking methods using signature color or having difficulty in tracking rapidly moving object. To resolve this, moving search window of CAM shift makes it possible to more accurately track high-speed moving object after finding object by conducting 8-way search by using information at a final successful timing point from a timing point missing tracking object. Moreover, hardware development led to increased unnecessary arithmetic operation by increasing the number of frame produced per second, which indicates efficiency can be enhanced by reducing the number of frame used in tracking to reduce unnecessary arithmetic operation.
Study on Efficient Image Restoration using Reference Image

Image restoration is required when the image is blurred due to out of focus or motion during the image acquisition. This type of image restoration is known as ill-posed inverse problem because the estimate of an original image should be derived from only one blurred image. This paper introduces a reference image to facilitate the restoration process. The experimental result shows that computation time is significantly reduced, compared with other methods. The proposed method obtains the estimate of the kernel used in blurring processing. New cost function is defined to update both the image and the kernel alternately. In the last stage, Wiener filter produces the estimate of an original image using the kernel and the reference image.
Effective Road Distance Estimation Using a Vehicle-attached Black Box Camera

Recently, lots of research works have been actively focused on the self-driving car. In order to implement the self-driving car, lots of fusion techniques should be merged and, specially, it is noted that a vehicle-attached camera can provide several useful functionalities such as traffic lights recognition, pedestrian detection, stop-line recognition including simple driving records. Accordingly, as one of the efficient tools for the self-driving car implementation, this paper proposes a mathematical model for estimating effectively the road distance with a vehicle-attached black box camera. The proposed model can be effectively used for estimating the road distance by using the height of black box camera or the widths of the referenced road line and the observed road line. Through several simulations, it is shown that the proposed model is effective in estimating the road distance.
Reconstruction Method of Spatially Filtered 3D images in Integral Imaging based on Parallel Lens Array

In this paper, we propose a novel reconstruction method of spatially filtered 3D images in integral imaging based on parallel lens array. The parallel lens array is composed of two lens arrays, which are positioned side by side through longitudinal direction. Conventional spatial filtering method by using convolution property between periodic functions has drawback that is the limitation of the position of target object. this caused the result that the target object should be located on the low depth resolution region. The available spatial filtering region of the spatial filtering method is depending on the focal length and the number of elemental lens in the integral imaging pickup system. In this regard, we propose the parallel lens array system to enhance the available spatial filtering region and depth resolution. The experiment result indicate that the proposed method outperforms the conventional method.

A laser diode(LD) has been studied in many fields what medical, industrial processing, sensor, advertising equipment, printing equipment. And the LD is being used in industry. However, LD will require precision handling. Therefore, the actual use of LD is limited to areas of specialization. In this study, attend to the characteristics of the LD what weak to electrostatic and physical impact, current and heat. And will make a sample module that use comfortably a various wavelength LD. Furthermore, Furthermore, through the printing CTP(Computer to Plate) equipment used the 128-channel LD-Driver, compares it with a 64-channel CTP device about the print speed and resolution. And will solved the problem of delay between the dot and the dot. Finally, consider the potential of the 256-channel LD-Driver.

RnD Service firms are the innovative company that supports innovation, determines the healthy ecosystem in the high tech business sector. RnD service also brings up a regional innovation through the business ecosystem. This study conducted a case study RnD Service firms leading to the activation of high tech industry. We analyze the role of the RnD Service firms through reports and interviews with corporate managers. We understand the growth process was RnD Service firms, and identify the cost of organizing. RnD Service firms are independent economy, but was also a problem that appears is dependent on universities and research institutions sometimes. Recently, various static analysis tools for software defect detection are becoming widely used in practice. However, there is little public information of the most frequent defects in commercial areas until now. In this paper, we analyze the defects found by CodeSonar, a static analysis tool that finds defects in C/C++, Java programs. So we report the most frequent defects by various aspects in Dongnam area, Korea.
Development and Application of Meta-cognition-based App for Students with Learning Disabilities

In this study, a learning system based on smart learning is proposed so that students with learning disabilities can learn the effective use of meta-cognitive to solve problems arising during the learning process. The features of the proposed system are as follow. First, it is possible to achieve students` individualized learning by use of smart devices and smart education system. Second, it is possible to provide the constant repetition learning for students. Third, students can improve their achievement using the proposed app. The proposed smart education system using meta-cognition was applied to some learning disabilities students. The following results were obtained. First, the disabled students could have an interest in learning math and improve confidence. Second, the student`s mathematical problem-solving skills have improved. Third, students` individualized and self-directed learning was achieved.

This paper covered the design and implementation of the demodulation receiver in the ADS-B 1090ES system, which is one of the CNS/ATM`s surveillance systems. This researched demodulation performed at the level required by RTCA DO-268B and EUROCAE ED-129. The single signal process method, which applies a baseline multi-sample technique among multi-amplitude sample demodulations, was suggested to improve the quality of the receiver signal, the dynamic range and so on. The suggested multi-signal level tuning method has enhanced the single-signal process method, reducing the unstable reception ratio by the transmit output level difference and manufacturing receiver hardware. The result was that the receiver suggested by the method had 0~87dBm in dynamic range and -90dBm in MTL. This shows a better performance by -3dBm less than the international standard in ADS-B 1090ES ground receiver equipment. The systems which use a similar modulation method, will be considered to be widely applied.

The students who learn the computer languages think it very difficult to program using the text-based programming languages and also to learn the object-oriented programming. Therefore, we introduce the object-oriented visual programming into the programming education. And, to solve the this problem in the programming education, in this paper, we introduce the UML to support the object-oriented modeling and to teach the students using the LabVIEW OOP that supports the object-oriented visual programming. And, we propose to apply it on the embedded programming education. Also, we analyze the educational effect of the proposed education methodology of programming based on the student survey.

In this paper, we propose a context-awareness routing algorithm DDV (Dynamic Direction Vector)-hop algorithm in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks. The existing algorithm in MANET, it has a vulnerability that the dynamic network topology and the absence of network expandability of mobility of nodes. The proposed algorithm performs cluster formation using a range of direction and threshold of velocity for the base-station, we calculate the exchange of the cluster head node probability using the direction and velocity for maintaining cluster formation. The DDV algorithm forms a cluster based on the cluster head node. As a result of simulation, our scheme could maintain the proper number of cluster and cluster members regardless of topology changes.

The safety-related accident in which the field operators of all sorts of industrial sites don`t fasten the seat belt properly and which it generates is the tendency that it increases constantly every year. By sounding the announcement sound in case the operator did not fasten the seat belt and the person seat belt monitoring system proposed in this paper progressed the work the operator fastened the seat belt properly. In addition, at the same time with that, since the administrator monitored the seat belt wearing or no of the operators on a real time basis the safety-related accident which did not wear the safety equipment properly and which it generates was prevented.
A Centralized DESYNC Scheme in Small-Scale Wireless Networks

In the recent days, interests in machine-to-machine communication schemes in small-scale networks has been increasing with growing demands. TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) can be used as a multiple access method in small-scale networks. However, time synchronization for TDMA is complicated or needs additional equipments. Such a large cost is not suitable for small-scale networks. We propose, BC-DESYNC, a efficient time synchronization for small-scale networks by extending DESYNC(DESYNChronization). DESYNC takes a long time to complete synchronization and doesn`t guarantee the synchronization delay. BC-DESYNC uses CU(Central Unit) that performs a centralized control to achieve the 2-hop communication and guarantees the synchronization completion time by using Mimic firing and C-DESYNC scheme.

Recently, as mobile operating system market and wireless communication technology have been rapidly developed, many devices such as smart phones, air conditioners, smart TVs, cleaning robot, and cameras become available with android operating system. Accordingly, collecting variety of information through many everyday use devices with network connections is now enabled. However, in the current market, most devices are controlled individually developed applications, and there is growing need to develop a master application that can control multiple devices. In this paper, we propose and implement a system that can control multiple android-based devices on a Wired/Wireless router(AP) registered through web server. we expect such an effort can attribute to future IoT researches.
A Study on Behavioral Intention on u-Health using Health Promotion Model

The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors on behavioral intention in u-health system using Health Promotion Model(HPM) by Pender . This study used PLS-SEM(Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling) method for verification of the proposed model and conducted the analysis with sample data of 216 respondents. As a result of the analysis, a path from individual experience to personal health and also, path from self-efficacy to behavioral intention had the highest influence in the research model. Also, it was confirmed that the only factor that affect health promotion behavior was `self-efficacy` variable in u-health system. However, in the future time, additional research is needed in that this study has small sample data and needs more clear definition on u-health system.

NAVWAR (NAVigation WARfare) such as an integral part of EW (Electronic Warfare) for making navigation systems malfunctioning expands rapidly in the future military warfare. First of all, Navigation systems of ground radio and satellite were investigated. And the definition of NAVWAR and vulnerability related to GNSS were analyzed. As a result, we propose the development direction for future navigation system such as constructing eLoran system, developing an integrated receiver, establishing alert steps of watch system, and so on.
