Experiment performance analysis of turbo code based turbo equalizer

In this paper, We analyzed the performance of turbo equalizer using turbo codes thorough the under water experiment. To compensate the distorted signal induced by multipath effect, we apply the iterative turbo codes that iteratively exchange probabilistic information between LMS-DFE and turbo decoder, thereby reducing the error rates significantly. We showed the successful of turbo decoding of iterative turbo equalizer is 93%.

In this paper, we proposed receiver structure based on an iterative turbo equalization to cope with phase difference between two sensors in MIMO underwater communication channel. In a space-time coded system, it is often assumed that there are no phase errors among the multiple transmitter and receiver chains. In this paper, we have studied the effect of the phase errors between different transmit sensors and different propagation paths in the environment of MIMO underwater communication system, and have shown through BER performance by computer simulations that the bit-error-rate performance can be severely degraded. A decision-directed estimation and compensation algorithm has been proposed to minimize their effects on the system performance. In this paper, we investigate the phase differences and their effects on multiple-input and multiple-output systems, and propose a compensation algorithm for underwater channel model to minimize their effects.

GPS (global positioning system) is a popular system that provides location information by measuring arrival time difference at the receiver between several GPS satellite signals. GPS is widely used in commercial area as well as military systems. Reliable GPS signal reception is more important in the military systems. However, since the carrier frequencies of the GPS signals are well known, the GPS receivers are vulnerable to intentional jamming attacks. To remove jammers but maintain GPS signals at the received signals, a popular technique is an adaptive beam steering method based on array antenna. Among adaptive beam steering techniques, this paper considers MVDR (minimum variance distortionless response) algorithm, and proposes a new adaptive technique that preserves the received signals at desired direction, but removes the jamming signals adaptively. The performance of the proposed method is verified through computer simulation.
Cooperative Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio Technology Considering Heterogeneous Primary User

In cognitive radio technology, the overall capacity of communications systems can be improved without allocating additional bands by allowing secondary system to utilize the band when a primary system who has right to use the band does not utilize it. Therefore, spectrum sensing to determine the existence of primary system is utmost important in the cognitive radio technology. In this work, we consider a novel cooperative spectrum sensing in cognitive cellular systems. Especially, we consider the case in which heterogeneous primary systems coexist, i.e., heterogenous transmission power and sensing requirement of primary system, such that only portion of users in cognitive cellular systems are able to detect the primary system. In this case, we propose new cooperative spectrum sensing with multiple sensing stages to properly detect the existence of primary systems in this kind of situations. Moreover, we analyze the performance of conventional cooperative spectrum sensing schemes such as OR-rule, AND-rule and MAJORITY-rule under the existence of heterogeneous primary systems. Finally, we investigate the performance of the proposed scheme through computer based simulations and show that the existence of primary systems can be determined accurately by using our proposed scheme.

802.11p WAVE is the next-generation wireless communication that can make Ad-hoc network communication possible for Vehicle-to-Vehicle. GBSR protocol, one of the 802.11p WAVE protocols, mainly focuses on improvements in networks that have a tendency to disconnect. However, it does not consider the transmission time and velocity of a packet thus, there is a disadvantage of there being a delay in the transmission velocity, in urgent situations like car accidents, emergency patients transportation and crimes. In this paper, we proposed A-GBSR protocol for transmission of a packet to mobile node which has a high speed through the improved beacon message and Adaptive Neighbor list Management that are considering of the GBSR protocol transmission velocity.
A Routing Protocol for Improving Path Stability in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks

Nodes of Mobile ad-hoc network usually use the energy-limited battery. Balanced energy consumptionis important to maintain path`s stability. In this paper, we focus on improving the stability of the routing path in mobile ad-hoc networks. For that purpose, we propose a new routing protocol to find the highest minimum node residual energy path among shortest paths. The largest path of minimum value of the remain energy has a longer life than other paths to improve the reliability to data-transmission. Using ns-3 simulator, we show that the proposed routing protocol can provide more long-life stable routing path than AODV and EA-AODV.

This paper proposes a prediction reputation system for the anti-SPIT solution in real-time VoIP environment. Increased accuracy of the determination as to whether spam or not by deriving a threshold based on SPIT presence in the existing paper. The existing schemes need to get the user`s feedback and/or have experienced the time delay and overload as session initiates due to real-time operation. To solve these problems, the proposed scheme predicts the reputation through the statistical analysis based on the period of session initiation of each caller and the call duration of each receiver. As per the second mentioned problem, this scheme performs the prediction before session initiation, therefore, it`s proper for real-time VoIP environment.

In this paper, we propose a method for generating pattern classifier based on LFSR. The proposed pattern classifier bosed on LFSR is easy to see non-reachable state, and we can obtain dependency vector by using the 0-basic path. Also, we propose a method for generating pattern classifiers based on LFSR which correspond to given dependency vector.
A Design and Implementation of Bidding and Scheduling System for Ship Repair

Currently, the existing schedule management of ship repair has depended on hand-written notes of engineering manager in the repair ship yard. Simple management based on the hand-written notes is inefficient because current states of equipments and staff are not graspable in real-time. To solve this problem, the ICT based scheduling method is required in ship repair industry. In this paper, we propose a system based on ICT which manages schedules for repairing ships. The proposed system solves the problem occurred by the management to use the hand-written notes. Because the system has a function to report the current state of ship repair, it is able to cope with various problems, such as delay, wrong repair and so on. Moreover, the system is able to maximize the efficiency of ship repair process due to efficient management to staff and equipment.
Correlation Analysis of Social Sentiment and Stock Prices

In this paper, we analyze the correlation between social sentiment and stock prices. Polarity analysis is conducted for the stock prices plunging and soaring duration. And it is performed for its prior period. Using these results, we analyze the relationship between the social sentiment and stock prices. We collected the past data of Dow Jones Industrial Average and detected the period of plunging and soaring. On the basis of the detected time, the New York Times articles are collected and polarity analysis is conducted. Frequency of negative terms is decreased and it of positive terms is increased during the stock prices soaring. There is a little difference between the frequency of negative and positive terms in the previous stock prices plunging or soaring. According to the correlation analysis, it shows a positive correlation between social sentiment and stock prices in the period of plunging and soaring. A significant correlation is not appeared in the previous stock prices plunging or soaring.
Similarity Measure and Clustering Technique for XML Documents by a Parent-Child Matrix

Recently, researches have been developing efficient techniques for accessing, querying, and managing XML documents which are frequently used in the Internet. In this paper, we propose a parent-child matrix to cluster XML documents efficiently. A parent-child matrix analyzes both the content and structural features of an XML document. Each cell of a parent-child matrix has either the value of a node in an XML tree or the value of a child node, where a parent-child relationship exists in the XML tree. Then, the similarity between two XML documents can be measured by the similarity between two corresponding parent-child matrices. The experiment shows that our proposed method has good performance.
An Efficient Hardware Implementation of Lightweight Block Cipher LEA-128/192/256 for IoT Security Applications

This paper describes an efficient hardware implementation of lightweight encryption algorithm LEA-128/192/256 which supports for three master key lengths of 128/192/256-bit. To achieve area-efficient and low-power implementation of LEA crypto- processor, the key scheduler block is optimized to share hardware resources for encryption/decryption key scheduling of three master key lengths. In addition, a parallel register structure and novel operating scheme for key scheduler is devised to reduce clock cycles required for key scheduling, which results in an increase of encryption/decryption speed by 20~30%. The designed LEA crypto-processor has been verified by FPGA implementation. The estimated performances according to master key lengths of 128/192/256-bit are 181/162/109 Mbps, respectively, at 113 MHz clock frequency.
Tunneling Current of Sub-10 nm Asymmetric Double Gate MOSFET for Channel Doping Concentration

This paper analyzes the ratio of tunneling current for channel doping concentration of sub-10 nm asymmetric double gate(DG) MOSFET. The ratio of tunneling current for off current in subthreshold region increases in the region of channel length of 10 nm below. Even though asymmetric DGMOSFET is developed to reduce short channel effects, the increase of tunneling current in sub-10 nm is inevitable. As the ratio of tunneling current in off current according to channel doping concentration is calculated in this study, the influence of tunneling current to occur in short channel is investigated. To obtain off current to consist of thermionic emission and tunneling current, the analytical potential distribution is obtained using Poisson equation and tunneling current using WKB(Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin). As a result, tunneling current is greatly changed for channel doping concentration in sub-10 nm asymmetric DGMOSFET, specially with parameters of channel length, channel thickness, and top/bottom gate oxide thickness and voltage.

By increasing due to large-scale residential and commercial apartments or factories or were, and increases the length of the cable is connected from the electrical room, the thickness of the cable, the trend is also being gradually thicker to increase the power consumption. In this paper, the programs install the cable inserted in the rope a double bonded brake pipe to be laid underground in these cables, and to reliably collect various kinds of data such as a tension at the time of laying the cable, the distance and speed design, and the sample data was acquired through hardware making them. Through this, it was confirmed that, worker was significantly reduced and work time was shortened to the traditional mechanical laying equipment. And to obtain a performance of improving the reliability of operation, because the use of the working data to the management and evaluation.
Real-time 3D Visualization Method of Landslide disaster prediction Simulation using GPU

In this paper, we propose a GPU-based interactive and plausible visualization method for the silt and landslide simulation results computed with SPH. By empirical experiments, we verify that our GPU-accelerated screen space mesh method can be effectively used for visualizing the landslide disaster simulation. The method proposed in this paper make it possible to overcome the limitation of previous simulations where the experience obtained by trials and errors plays the most important roles. Because the realtime visualization enables interactive observation of simulation results and efficient data assimilation, the accuracy of the simulation can be significantly improved in an efficient way.

In UHD high-speed video transmission system, when a signal within certain frequency region coincides electrically and structurally, the system becomes unstable because the energy is concentrated, and signal flux is interfered and distorted. In this paper, we propose a depth conversion method for orthoscopic real image reconstruction in integral imaging. Pseudoscopic image has been regarded a problem in conventional integral imaging. the depth of reconstructed image is depending on a coordinate of an elemental image. The conversion from pseudoscopic to orthoscopic may be possible by analysing the geometrical relation between pickup and reconstruction system of elemental image. The feasibility of the proposed method has been confirmed through preliminary experiments as well as ray optical analysis.

Operating Systems is a discipline which handles abstract concepts and techniques. However, most of OS courses have been textbook-oriented theoretical classes. Theoretical classes lead to the decline in the understanding of a lecture and hurt their concentration. Many instructors have tried various ways to help students understand lectures and arouse interests. This paper describes the design and implementation of a web-based educational CPU scheduling simulator which enables learners to set up various situations and simulate scheduling processes using a web browser or a smart-phone. After utilizing the implemented simulator for the class, the survey result for 2014`s students shows that it is useful as an educational tool which enhances the understanding of a lecture and develops their problem solving skills.

Many robust controllers have been studied but most are considered in the theoretical point of view and can be used for only specific systems. So, in this paper, a more practical robust controller is proposed based on SMC(sliding mode control) and disturbance observer. The integral sliding mode is used to eliminate the reaching phase and minimizes the steady-state error, and the disturbance observer reduces the chattering due to the switching input for the bounded disturbances. The inevitable chattering of SMC is also removed by replacing the sign function with dead-zone function. The proposed controller has the improved steady-state error and robustness compared to PID controller.
A Study on Correlation between Undergraduates` Smart Phone Addiction and Sociality in an IT Environment

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of undergraduates` smart phone addiction on their development of sociality. According to the results of positive analysis, if smart phone addiction gets more serious, sociality becomes lower. More concretely, smart phone addiction consists of its subareas: difficulties in daily living, pursuing experience in the virtual world, withdrawal, and tolerance. Sociality has its subareas as confidence, sociability, and interpersonal relationship. If difficulties in daily living and tolerance become increased, confidence gets lower. In addition, as pursuing experience in the virtual world and withdrawal become increased, sociability gets lower. Regarding the dispositions of smart phone addiction in groups subdivided by sex, men are more apt to be addicted than women. Recently, smart phone use has been tremendously increased, and issues regarding addiction to it have been raised as problems in society. Therefore, it will be needed to discuss solutions for more reasonable use in society in order to prevent smart phone addiction.
A Study on Edge Detection using Pixel Brightness Transfer Function in Low Light Level Environments

Edge detection is an essential preprocessing for most image processing application, and there are several existing detection methods such as Sobel, Roberts, Laplacian, LoG(Laplacian of Gaussian) operators, etc. Those existing edge detection methods have not given satisfactory results since they do not offer enough pixel brightness change in low light level environment. Therefore, in this study new algorithms using brightness transfer function in the preprocessing and for edge detection applying standard deviation and average-weighted local masks are proposed. In addition, the performance of proposed algorithms was evaluated in comparison with the existing edge detection methods such as Sobel, Roberts, Prewitt, Laplacian, LoG operators.

In this paper, a robust trajectory tracking control method of a wheeled mobile robot is newly proposed combining the PDC and the ISMC. The PDC is a relatively simple and easy control method for nonlinear system compared to the other non-linear control methods. And the ISMC can have robust and stable control characteristics against model uncertainties and disturbances from the initial time by placing the states on the sliding plane with desired nominal dynamics. Therefore, the proposed PDC+ISMC trajectory tracking control method shows robust trajectory tracking performance in spite of external disturbance. The tracking performance of the proposed method is verified through simulations. Even though the disturbance increases, the proposed method keeps the performance of the PDC method when there is no disturbance. However, the PDC trajectory tracking control method has increasing tracking error unlike the proposed method when the disturbance increases.

There have been lots of researches and developments for smart agriculture that enables higher efficiency and productivity by applying ICT into the agriculture field recently. However, there still remain many difficulties in purchasing foreign equipments or overseas expansion due to lack of international standards that are internationally approved. Such necessity leads to the international standardization activities driven by domestic experts especially in ITU-T SG13. This paper presents several smart agriculture services based on the service approach that can effectively describe use cases. The proposed architecture of service provision was applied to the document that has been consented as the ITU-T Recommendation Y.2238.

A Study on the Interconnection Technology between Tablet Device and Interactive White Board System

In this paper we have studied about the interconnection technology between tablet device and interactive white board(IWB) system. For this study we have implemented the board writing software for both tablet device and interactive white board system which has contents management, page turning and basic writing functions. Then we defined the data format to communicate the control information and board writing information between two devices, and implemented the communication module for the real-time bidirectional communication by using the Socket programming. The page turning or writing information on tablet device were transferred to the IWB system in real-time and vice versa. From the result of performance test based on the error rate, latency time and communication coverage we derived that our implementation software has good performance between tablet device and IWB system. Also from the result of field test we proved that our solution is well suitable to use in real education environment.
Arrhythmia Classification Method using QRS Pattern of ECG Signal according to Personalized Type

Several algorithms have been developed to classify arrhythmia which either rely on specific ECG(Electrocardiogram) database. Nevertheless personalized difference of ECG signal exist, performance degradation occurs because of carrying out diagnosis by general classification rule. Most methods require accurate detection of P-QRS-T point, higher computational cost and larger processing time. But it is difficult to detect the P and T wave signal because of person`s individual difference. Therefore it is necessary to design efficient algorithm that classifies different arrhythmia in realtime and decreases computational cost by extracting minimal feature. In this paper, we propose arrhythmia classification method using QRS Pattern of ECG signal according to personalized type. For this purpose, we detected R wave through the preprocessing method and define QRS pattern of ECG signal by QRS feature Also, we detect and modify by pattern classification, classified arrhythmia duplicated QRS pattern in realtime. Normal, PVC, PAC, LBBB, RBBB, Paced beat classification is evaluated by using 43 record of MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The achieved scores indicate the average of 99.98%, 97.22%, 95.14%, 91.47%, 94.85%, 97.48% in PVC, PAC, Normal, BBB, Paced beat classification.

In the industrial field for product inspection needs not only on the surface of the product but also the internal components defect inspection. Generally, optical inspection is mainly used for item inspection from production process. However, this is only to check defect of surface it is difficult to perform inspection of goods internal. To overcome these limitations, Instead of optical device by using the portable X- ray DR image acquisition device system developed to obtain an image in real time at the same time and determine product defects. After obtaining the X- ray image, the inspection product within error range is passed after machine image processing. Also, the results and numbers are stored by users.
Development of a Video Mash-up Application using Videos from Network Environment

As smartphones are rapidly supplied, users can easily access video contents anywhere, anytime. So recently, demands for the ability to create one`s own mash-up video have been increasing and various video mash-up programs appear to reflect those needs. But, because most existing video mash-up programs can mash up only stored video files, the ability to mash up many videos is limited for smartphones that have restricted memory. In this paper, we have developed a video mash-up application that can easily mash up not only stored videos, but also videos found by chance over the network to make one`s own videos.
T&E Reliability Analysis of Guided Weapons using Bayesian

This paper provides Bayesian methodology to estimate the reliability for guided weapons which are not continuously operating. The posterior distribution of subsystems and components becomes the next prior distribution. By analyzing the results of the sub-systems and components presented a method for estimating the reliability of the entire guided weapons. Bayesian methodology using existing test data of subsystems may be used to reduce the sample sizes.
