Design of a broadband CP antenna for RFID readers

In this paper, we considered a design method of a circular polarization (CP) antenna for UHF (ultra high frequency) RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) readers. The antenna is a dual-fed circular microstrip patch which produces right-handed CP. Quadrature hybrid coupler is used for dual feeding. The outputs of the coupler and circular patch are connected through copper wires, and the inductive reactance produced by the connecting wires is compensated by a ring-shaped slot inserted inside the circular patch. The effects of the geometrical parameters of the proposed antenna on the antenna performance are examined, and the parameters are adjusted to be suitable for the operation in North American UHF RFID band (902-928 MHz), which includes domestic UHF RFID band. The antenna is fabricated, and the experiment results reveal a frequency band of 854-993 MHz for a voltage standing wave ratio < 2. The fabricated antenna is connected to a commercial RFID reader, and it showed a good performance of tag identification.
Tap-length Optimization of Decision Feedback Equalizer Using Genetic Algorithm

In the underwater acoustic communication channels, multipath reflection become the cause of obstacle. Generally, equalizer has been applied to overcome these problems. In this paper, the method was proposed to optimize tap-length of decision feedback equalizer using genetic algorithm. After inputting feed-forward filter length and feed-back filter length as genetic information of the genetic algorithm, it optimize tap-length using BER(bit error rate) calculation in accordance with object function. The object function consist of decision feedback equalizer and BER calculation. For the purpose of BER calculation in the object function, the method was proposed to optimize the tap-length of decision feedback equalizer with genetic algorithm using preamble signals. As a result of experiments, the optimized BER is 0.0355 for signals which were received through a 25m receiver and which were applied to calculate BER merely using preamble signals in object function. When all data were used to calculate BER in object function, the optimized BER is 0.0215.
Shore-to-sea Maritime Visible Light Communication using Color Clustered MIMO

Shore-to-sea visible light communication using color clustered multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) is presented. The proposed maritime visible light communication (MVLC) offers a low-cost, high-speed wireless link for shore-to-sea maritime communications. Each color cluster is comprised of 50 red, green and blue (RGB) light emitting diodes (LEDs) and is modulated using on-off-keying (OOK). Selection combining is performed at the receiver, producing diversity effect within that color cluster. In this paper, we employ sea states (wave height, wind speed, etc.) data from both Pierson-Moskowitz and JONSWAP spectrum models under atmospheric turbulence conditions. Based on the simulation model, the maritime link quality is analysed in terms of coverage distance and bit error rate performance. The results show that the proposed system provides an efficient MVLC, while satisfying International Association of Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) requirements for maritime buoyage system and also offering sufficient illumination from high power LEDs.

Traditional IP routing, see only the Destination Address When Forwarding Layer 3 routing and exchange information and Destination-Based Routing Lookup is required for all Hop. Interference Alignment in 2-user X Channel System with Orthogonal and quasi-orthogonal Space-time Block Codes

In this paper, we investigate achieving the full diversity order and power gains in case of using OSTBCs and quasi-OSBCs in the x channel system with interference alignment with more than 2 antennas at each terminal. A slight degradation is remarked in the case of quasi-OSTBCs. In terms of receiver structure, we show that due to the favorable structure of the channel matrices, the simple zero-forcing receiver achieves the full diversity order, while the interference cancellation receiver leads to degradations in performance. As compared to the conventional scheme, simulation results demonstrate that our proposed schemes achieve 14dB and 16.5dB of gain at a target bit error rate (BER) of 10
in the case of OSTBCs with 3 and 4 antennas at each terminal, respectively, while achieving the same spectral efficiency. Also, a gain of 10dB is achieved at the same target BER in the case of quasi-OSTBC with 4 antennas at each terminal.

Integrated log management system can help to predict the risk of security and contributes to improve the security level of the organization, and leads to prepare an appropriate security policy. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a Hadoop-based log analysis system by using distributed database model which can store large amount of data and reduce analysis time by automating log collecting procedure. In the proposed system, we use the HBase in order to store a large amount of data efficiently in the scale-out fashion and propose an easy data storing scheme for analysing data using a Hadoop-based normal expression, which results in improving data processing speed compared to the existing system.

Increasing of depth data accessibility, depth data is used in many researches. Motion recognition of computer vision also widely use depth image. More accuracy motion recognition system needs more stable depth data. But depth sensor has a noise. This noise affect accuracy of the motion recognition system, we should noise suppression. In this paper, we propose using spatial domain and temporal domain stabilization for depth image and makes it hardware IP. We adapted our hardware to floor removing algorithm and verification its effect. we did realtime verification using FPGA and APU. Designed hardware has maximum frequency 202.184MHz.
Comparison of Domestic and International Research Trend on Information Security

This paper analyzes domestic research trend on information security, compares its results with international trends, and studies future directions we should have on national level. This research is a successor of the work for analysis of global research trend on information security. Therefore we select the same analysis method to compare domestic and international research trends exactly. To do this, we use domestic papers presented or published from 2001 to 2014, measure temporal relationship between technologies related to information security, analyze domestic research trends, and compare the results. Finally we will suggest our future direction through considering international future markets of technologies.
A Novel Auditing System for Dynamic Data Integrity in Cloud Computing

Cloud computing draws attention as an application to provide dynamically scalable infrastructure for application, data and file storage. An untrusted remote server can cause a variety of problems in the field of data protection. It may process intentionally or involuntarily user's data operations(modify, insert, delete) without user's permission. It may provide false information in order to hide his mistakes in the auditing process. Therefore, it is necessary to audit the integrity of data stored in the cloud server. In this paper, we propose a new data auditing system that can verify whether servers had a malicious behavior or not. Performance and security analysis have proven that our scheme is suitable for cloud computing environments in terms of performance and security aspects.

In some cases, despite the pedestrian jaywalking pedestrian traffic lights to red, or even wait for the walk signal to stand down in the driveway. If this is the case may be liable to lead to a traffic accident. Thus, using an infrared sensor wateuna adopted the approach that the warning announcement when a pedestrian enters the driveway, curved pedestrian crossing the intersection in this case, it is difficult to install. In this paper, we propose a Fitness referral system utilizes a built-in sensor of the Android mobile devices. For this purpose, the sensor is a proximity sensor using an acceleration sensor. The proximity sensor has a number of disadvantages compared to the high precision battery power, the acceleration sensor accuracy, fast response time, on the other hand, the disadvantage is the lower. Close to reduce battery consumption of the sensor, BMI of the user sensor control mechanism and increase the accuracy of the acceleration sensor (Body Mass Index) obtained after the index was applied to the recommendation algorithm, which like the movement mechanism.
A Powerline-based Legacy-line Communication System for Implementation of a Communication Network in Ship

In this paper, a method of implementing a communication network in ship, which exploits a powerline-based legacy-line communication system (LLC), is presented. We develop an inductive coupling unit and a multi-interface device to connect a data communication terminal to the powerline. As a result of operation tests for the ship under working, the implemented LLC shows a transmission rate of at least 25.8 Mbps in the distance of 200 m away with 100% success rate. Thus, the system can be a useful alternative to implement a communication network in ship without additional channels. Being easy to be implemented and supporting various interfaces for data communication, the presented system will be very effective when a real-time monitoring system is launched in future digital ship.
Low-Complexity Multi-Size Circular Shifter for QC-LDPC Decoder Based on Two Serial Barrel-Rotators

The low-density parity-check(LDPC) code has been adopted in many communication standards due to its error correcting performance, and the quasi-cyclic LDPC(QC-LDPC) is widely used because of implementation easiness. In the QC-LDPC decoder, a cyclic-shifter is required to rotate data in various sizes. This kind of cyclic-shifters are called multi-size circular shifter(MSCS), and this paper proposes a low-complexity structure for MSCS. In the conventional serially-placed two barrel-rotators, the unnecessary multiplexers are revealed and removed, leading to low-complexity. The experimental results show that the area is reduced by about 12%.
Design and Implementation of Mobile Healthcare System supporting Safe Transfusion

From bar code systems and radio frequency identification (RFID) to beacons utilizing low power bluetooth technology, the fusion of information technology and health and medical treatment is spreading through advances such as automated treatment and examination stages and the use of treatment information connected to smart devices. In this paper, designed and implemented a mobile health care system for the safe management of blood transfusions to prevent accidental problems that can occur during patient blood transfusions. It makes safe and effective blood transfusion possible by using smart devices to read information saved on patient bracelets, blood-collecting containers, blood transfusion bags, and medical personnel identification cards so that they match patient information. By applying the blood transfusion management mobile health care system presented and implemented in this paper to blood transfusion processes in hospitals, it was verified that it allows for safe and effective blood transfusion, preventing accidents which may occur in blood transfusion processes.
Implementation of Smart Convergent Communication System of Satellite and Wireless for Monitoring in Closed Room of Vessel

The existence communications of vessel focused on voice, FAX, ISDN, etc. using satellite on the existent most communications on the ships, and recently, the ships need high quality smart communication service environments. In the results of experiments using the existent system, it could access on board, but in the closed room of vessel, was impossible to access e-mail and smart apps except voice communication. In the present paper, we implemented a novel communication system that can access voice, text, e-mail, file, vessel monitoring apps, etc. It consists of a convergent communication terminal combined with satellite and communication for Smartphone, and smart communication environment on the closed room. As the results, we can access a variety of smart communication in anywhere on board.
Estimation of Color Translucency of Powder Coating using Multiple Artificial Skins and its Application to Makeup Simulation with Thickness Patterns

This paper presents a novel makeup simulation method for powder application. We propose a color appearance model for powder coated skin that is simple but yet capable of producing realistic visual results. From the photos of several artificial skins before and after powder application, the translucency and thickness parameters are achieved by fitting the color model to the photos. Thickness patterns of powder application on actual human face skin is also extracted, and used in makeup simulations on photos of different human face to give more visually appealing results. From experiments, we found that the simulation results are quite realistic, and expect that the proposed makeup simulation can be used as a virtual coloring test in the cosmetic labs.
A Study on Edge Detection Algorithm using Mask Shifting Deviation

Edge detection is one of image processing techniques applied for a variety of purposes in a number of areas and it is used as a necessary pretreatment process in most applications. In the conventional edge detection methods, there are Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts and LoG, etc using a fixed weights mask. Since conventional edge detection methods apply the images to the fixed weights mask, the edge detection characteristics appear somewhat insufficient. Therefore in this study, an algorithm for detecting the edge is proposed by applying the cross mask based on the center pixel and up, down, left and right mask based on the surrounding pixels of center pixel in order to solve these problems. And in order to assess the performance of proposed algorithm, it was compared with a conventional Sobel, Roberts, Prewitt and LoG edge detection methods.

In this paper, robust backstepping controller for IPMSM is proposed based on the PID integral sliding mode control. Because of the unmatching condition of load, the sliding mode control is difficult to be used for IPMSM without backstepping. However, the backstepping control has the difficulty of deriving error dynamics which is derived by differentiating the previous input. This difficulty is avoided by adopting PID as a nominal controller for the integral sliding mode control. The proposed controller can be achieved easily by adding integral sliding controller to the conventional PID controller.
Development of a Software Do-TRIZ for TRIZ Learning

TRIZ is a theory of inventive problem solving. Recently the importance of creative capabilities is being emphasized and many successful cases using TRIZ are being introduced, therefore interest in TRIZ has been increasing. But TRIZ is not easy to learn alone compared to other creative thinking tools. Although it is effective to learn TRIZ through various cases, it is not easy for beginners to experience those many cases. Therefore, we developed a software called Do-TRIZ for TRIZ learning. Do-TRIZ provides descriptions and various examples of key concepts to make it easier for beginners to learn TRIZ. Also, the learners can add new cases continuously on Do-TRIZ. Especially, process-based problem solving modules have been implemented on Do-TRIZ, in order to make it possible to solve problems based on technical contradiction, physical contradiction, and IFR(Ideal Final Result). The learners can use the modules to solve their problems and to share the results. Also, we implemented Do-TRIZ Memo app that works with Do-TRIZ.
The political economy analysis of the mobile phone subsidy

The government has the responsibility to prevent abuses of monopoly and promote competition in order to maximize consumer welfare. The government should address the asymmetry in the information as much as possible and ensure consumer choice. The subsidy seems to reduce the burden on the consumer service charges and handset prices but it actually distorts the market through price discrimination. The government caused the principal-agent problem by neglecting their appropriate role to prevent distortion of the mobile telecom market. The money used as subsidy is part of excess profit and could be transferred to down the price of mobile phone and charges and it would become a benefit to consumers. Separate announcement of subsidies by Mobile Communications Terminal Distribution Structure Improvement Act is a little developed policy but it was not actually realized. The market price close to that from perfect competition structure is plausible, ultimately.
Performance Analysis of Adaptive Radio Activation in Dual-Radio Aggregation System

Today's smartphones and user devices are equipped with multiple radio interfaces increasingly. Aggregating theses multiple radio interfaces and using them concurrently will increase a user's communication speed immediately, but at the expense of increased power consumption. In this paper, we develop a mathematical performance model of an adaptive radio activation scheme by which a radio interface is activated only when needed for performance increase and deactivated otherwise. The developed model shows that the adaptive scheme reduces delay significantly and almost halves power consumption below a certain level of traffic input.
Consideration on u-Gov's Role for Effective Reaction to Disaster

In reacting to disasters, rationality only relies on human experience leads to huge lose. Accordingly, in order to prepare for national emergency due to diverse and complicated disaster, the government needs to transfer into cooperation-based disaster management system using smart UT. Hence, this paper analyzes current disaster management systems' problems and considers resolution in fulfilling the requirement in safety. Then, it suggests service structure for technically effective UT utilization and considers u-Gov's role in preparing unpredictable disasters.
Partial Multipath Routing Scheme to avoid interpath interference in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks

Efficient routing algorithm is required to transmit data from source to destination by multi-hop transmission in wireless sensor networks. In the multi-hop transmission, multipath routing can be one of the solutions to cope with the traffic congestion and unstable link condition. In this paper, we propose partial multipath routing which does not establish a secondary full routing path but a partial multipath to complement some poor links, and it can enable stable data transmission and reduce the number of nodes in routing path and the required total power compared with conventional multipath routing.
Performance of a Beamforming based RFID System for Velocity Estimation

RFID based applications that combine radar techniques to obtain the location and the ID of a tag have widely been investigated. In this paper, we analyze a recently proposed RFID system that can extract the tag IDs and their velocities using signals transmitted from the tag attached moving objects and verify its performance. In the proposed system, a beacon transmits triggering signal at regular intervals into a monitoring area and the tag receiving the triggering signal backscatters the FMCW(frequency modulation continuous wave) signal modulated by the tag ID. The reader system demodulates this FMCW signal using predefined two reference signals to obtain not only the tag ID but its velocity. In this paper, we show that the proposed system works properly and analyze the degree of performance degradation in cases when the synchronization error between the transmitting signal and the reference signal occurs, and even when sampling rate is lowered for implementation purpose. Finally, the analytical results are verified by simulation.
A Location Estimation Method Using TDOA Scheme in Vessel Environment

An estimation problem in the environment which GPS signals do not reach, should be solved by employing an indoor location estimation scheme. Location estimation schemes for indoor environments generally include the AOA, TOA, RSS, Fingerprint, and TDOA. For a ship environment where there exist many spaces enclosed by iron plates, the TDOA scheme is appropriate because location estimation is usually performed at a closed range. In this paper, we address the problem of estimating the location of a terminal under the ship environment. The problem of location estimation by using the TDOA is presented in detail, and then an algorithm for applying the estimation to the ship environment is proposed. Finally, the proposed algorithm of location estimation in a ship by the TDOA scheme is verified through simulations from three viewpoints.
The mobile data processing system for noise measured in a living environment

Korean representative residence type is apartment house. Due to this, civil complaint related to living noise is rapidly increasing. Here, in case when they suffer from surrounding noise in daily life, they can raise civil complaint. However, in general home, it is difficult to measure noise utilizing expert equipment, in many cases they use smart phone app. Noise measurement app that was previously released has markedly low correctness, e.g. value is differently measured in the same condition, therefore, it is difficult to be used for the actual noise measurement. Therefore, this paper suggests mobile data process system for noise measurement of living environment utilizing smart phone. The expected effect of this research can be utilized as the civil complaint material by conveniently measuring the noise and presuming the direction that the noise appeared at the home that has no equipment.
A Study on the Navigation Signal Characteristics of China Beidou Satellite Navigation System

The paper is focused on not only the system characteristics of BeiDou, China GNSS, but also the statistic analysis based on its real data received from the BeiDou's satellite navigation messages. The 6-7 satellites, which are more than minimum number of 4 satellites to obtain 3-D position, are available for receiving navigation signal in stable case. It was also verified that the available satellites are deviated to specific coordinate and their signals are still unstable. Only as long as the received signal with the high stability, the precision of the BeiDou navigation satellite navigation system was identified with 5m level in deviation. The Beidou system is expected to be rising as a darkhorse in the future of the global satellite navigation area.
A Study on the Navigation Parameters of L1, C/A GPS through the Experimental and Statistical Analysis

This research was focused on the analysis of navigation parameters from the received L1, C/A signal of the recent GPS, which has advanced with the SA policy change and the GPS modernization policy by the United States. It was done as a first step study for a comprehensive analysis on the multiple satellite navigation systems which will be adding or separating GPS signal. In particular, the statistical analysis on the GDOP change and positional accuracy based on the geocentric and spherical coordinate systems were investigated with carrier- to-noise ratio and the satellite geometry, The obtained GDOP values of HDOP, PDOP, VDOP are 0.5, 1.2, and 1.1, respectively in deviation. In addition, the positioning accuracies with these GDOP values were analyzed in the ellipsoidal and ECEF coordinates.
The signal processing algorithm of the Missile Flight Test Launch Control System

The Missile Flight Test Launch Control System is to operate in conjunction with the Fire Control System during flight test to guided weapons. Also, this is a system for the test control and situation monitoring depending on the type of guided weapons and testing purposes. Message structure, communication protocols, such as data types for interworking with the fire control system and the Missile Flight Test Launch Control System are defined in the Launch Control ICD(Interface Control Document). ICD are composed differently of each guided weapons system and each test object. Previously, in order to interwork with the Fire Control System, the interlocking software was developed, which had a variety of problems. Therefore, we developed a new parsing algorithm in order to recognize the variety of Launch Control ICD and verified that the algorithm operates normally by checking transmitting and receiving various message in conjunction with the fire control system.
A Development of Component Vulnerability Analysis Program for Armored Fighting Vehicle using Criticality based on FMECA

The combat system has a different purpose depending on its mission. All functions of combat system are important, but, the components that related main functions for the purpose, are important than other components. Also, the hit probability of component is proportional to area of the component. Therefore, when we analyze vulnerability of combat system, to consider the importance and hit probability of component. Thus to improve reliability of combat system, we apply the analyzed result to design combat system. In this paper, we develop a vulnerability analysis program based on criticality which calculated from importance and hit probability of components by related researches. To do this, we propose a methodology to apply criticality of components, and define classification rates for calculating criticality based on FMECA. Additionally, we propose a technique of vulnerability analysis using criticality of components, and apply the proposed technique to develop and test the vulnerability analysis program for automation of analysis.
A Development of Hit Probability-based Vulnerability Analysis System for Armored Fighting Vehicle using Fault Tree Analysis Technique

Recently, the development of reliability analysis system for combat system is required, because, necessities of integrated reliability analysis research are emphasized. In this paper, we develop a system which analyzes vulnerabilities for tank(or armored vehicle) based on the fault tree analysis(FTA) technique. The FTA is representative technique of reliability analysis to find cause of fault and calculate probability of fault. To do this, we propose a method to apply FTA technique into domain of vulnerability analysis for tank. Also, we develop the vulnerability analysis system using the proposed method. The system analyzes hit probabilities of components of tank based on multiple shot-lines, and calculates kill probabilities. The analyzed and calculated data support vulnerability analysis of tank.
