A Study on the Advanced Communication Network for Island Region

Nowaday, the rapid progress toward an information- oriented society results in the regional disparity in information services. Especially, the subscribe lines in islands are not advanced due to the geographical factors and a small number of subscribe. The problem in the subscribe line deepens inequalities in the development between regions. The presents of network structure and operation of the island communication in Korea are analysed, and the methods to advance subscribe lines for islands are considered in this paper.
Adaptive Beamforming Algorithm in CDMA Environment

We, for the first time, propose a novel adaptive beamforming algorithm for smart antenna. The algorithm requires neither spatial knowledge nor reference signal. The algorithm is based on gradient method and its merit is in the simplicity of calculation load while maintaining good performance. Computer simulations are presented to verify the performance.
Performance Analysis of OFDM for Wireless Communication Applications

In this study, a OFDM mode, unlike traditional single carrier mode, is that a great number of carrier in multi-channel environment is transmitted by modulating objective Data parallel in order to execute high speed Data translation and make frequency orthogonal to offer high spectrum efficiency As a result, this method is adopted to a variety of fields and is being actively studied. In this papers, the efficiency of OFDM wireless-communication systems is evaluated by modulation methods through computer simulation. M-PSK and M-QAM are used as modulation methods. The simulation is executed in a real channel and a virtual channel included multi-path, AWGN, Peak Power clipping, Frame Start Time Error. As a result of simulation, it is confirmed that M-OAM method is superior to M-PSK in OFDM systems in terms of the transmission methods.
Protocol supporting Variable-length Message using Reservation Slots in WDM Local Network

A new WDM-based protocol for scheduling a variable-length message is proposed in this paper Two control channels, reservation slot and control slot, are used to coordinate transmission and diminish the collisions of packet to minimize the across delay. When an idle control slot is available, control packet is transmitted on that slot and message is transferred. And the node continues to transmit its control packet through the corresponding slot every cycle, until the message is completely transmitted. If any control slot is not available, the node schedules the transmission time of message in earliest available time using reservation slots. The proposed scheduling algorithm shows better performance and lower access delay.
Performance Analysis of Inter-Vehicle Communication System in Two-Ray Rician Channel

This paper analyzes error probability performance adopted the Ray Tracing method efficiently analyzing millimeter wave or optic wave in Inter Vehicle Communication(IVC). Analysis environment analyzed bit error characteristic in 60㎓ band with very powerful to multipath wave, to be large to oxygen absorption and to be good to frequency reuse efficiency. We analyzed bit error characteristic of DS/CDMA system by multi access user in Two-Ray rician channel adopted reflect wave of grand, reflect wave of concrete wall and reflect wave of driving vehicle at side road. Improvement performance is adopted MRC diversity.
Design and Implementation of Learning And Testing System using Animation Technique based on Web

Most of education sites which are related to practical computer lecture are almost learning and testing based on character-contents. In this thesis, commercial high school needs the use of new application programs which appear quickly. So as teacher and students can contact with each other in classroom, we implemented self-teaming which has text, visual and auditory function with the use of animation technology. Not only quantity testing which has been used for the purpose of selection and arrangement, but also we designed and implemented quality testing which consider the level and individuality of student.
A Study of Subjective Speech Quality Measurement in VoIP

In this paper, we discuss the scale of subjective speech quality measurement over VoIP(Voice over IP) network which is a component of broadband networks. Objective parameters of multimedia services like PSNR or jitter can easily measured and defined, but these factors are not easily meet the user's perceptual recognition. We suggest the speech quality measurement scale through the subjective measurement for end-to-end speech quality composed of sender-side quality, transmission quality, receiver-side quality, which provide the degree of correctness of representation of speaker, the degree of impairment caused by various factors, the degree of recognition of processed speech, respectively. Also, we examined the proposed method and verify it's availability.
Characteristics of holographic storage of random-phase-modulation-added binary amplitude data

We propose a method to add phase-modulation to binary amplitude data pages using a twisted-nematic liquid crystal display as a dynamic phase mask. For this, the phase modulation characteristics of the display were examined both theoretically and experimentally, and an unexpected abnormal phenomenon was found experimentally in which the modulation property changed as the incident beam intensity increased. To investigate the characteristics of holographically storing the binary data images, eight pages of holograms were stored at one spot of in un-thick Dupont's photopolymer with angle multiplexing. When phase-modulation-added pages were stored at the Fourier plane, the uniformity of the signal beam at the plane was improved, and thus more holograms can be recorded with our method, compared with the conventional case of using only binary amplitude modulation under the same condition.
Study on the Transmission of Medical Information using Bluetooth Technology

In this paper, a system that transmits ECG signals which get from hand baggage ECG is implemented by using Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth technology is a close range wireless communication used wireless frequency 2.4GHz bandwidth. This technology consumes very small power and provides high reliability also self error correction with high speed frequency hopping. Because every device which uses Bluetooth protocol can communicate each other. These can connect between the system implemented and any devices such as mobile telephone with Bluetooth module, notebook, and the personal mobile device. Also, the paper proposes capability of transmission to the sever of hospital through each type of wireless communication device that acquired medical information signals in mobile medical machine. The system consists of hardware parts with Bluetooth module and host part, and software parts with blutooth protocol stacks. The host precesses a connection with other device and transmits ECG signals with bluetooth frequency hopping sequence.
Development of High Stable Instrumentation and Analytic Techniques for Radioactive Pulses

An objection of this study is to develop a high stable measuring circuits and a analytic system for radioactive pulses. The proposed system consists of a pulse detection units for neutrons and gamma-rays a programmable high voltage supply unit and a digital signal processor. The programmable high voltage supply unit designed can generate DC voltage up to 1,500 V at 5 V input and have a series voltage regulator to maintain the output voltage constantly, resulting in less than 1.63% of voltage regulation. The pulse detection parts consists of an active integrator, a pole-zero circuit, and a 3-stage amplifier of 60 dB, and its frequency bandwidth is from 37 Hz to 300 kHzAlso, pulse height distribution in accordance with pulse counts is important data in analyzing radioactive pulses. In this study, A/D convertor (12bit, 100ms) and DSP (TMS320C31-60) are used to analyze the pulse height, and the analytic system is designed to be operated in PC-base.
A Multifunctional Three-Phase Electronic Step-Down Transformer with Constant Output Voltage Characteristics

In this paper, a multifunctional three-phase electronic step-down transformer with output voltage stabilization characteristics is presented for custom power applications. The proposed electronic transformer has some advantages and features as follows: 1) It has 40 % weights lighter than that of commercial magnetic transformer, 2) It has output voltage stabilization characteristic with regulated output voltage over input variations, 3) It cab be operated as circuit breaker in the case of emergency, 4) It can be operated with so called soft starting function. Moreover, the electronic transformer may have stand-by power cutoff function and act as distortion compensator. This paper show the circuit diagram and present its features through various PSPICE simulations.
Development of Measuring Device for Electric Field on the Ground Level Using a Field Mill

This paper describes a rotation-type field mill to measure the electric field intensity caused by thunderclouds on the ground level. The field mill developed is consisted of two isolated electrode vanes, a grounded stator and a rotor. To develop a high sensitive field mill, the principles and design rules of a rotation-type field mill are studied. Also, two types of calibration system, such as a cylindrical guard electrodes and a parallel-plate electrodes, are proposed to determine the sensitivity and frequency bandwidth of the field mill. From the calibration experiment, the frequency bandwidth and the sensitivity of the field mill are DC ~ 200 [Hz] and 0.267 [mV/V/m], respectively. Therefore, it can measure the electric field intensity from 73 [V/m] to 18.7 [㎸/m].

A Study on Asymmetrical Interactive e-Book Publication System Composition by Using DTV Broadcasting

In the 21st century, broadcasting, communication, and computer have been integrated due to the development of digital technology. Accordingly, to overcome the limit of respective communication media and to maintain them, their independent area shall not be classified. This study is to examine the future environment of digital TV broadcasting, to analyze customizing type service and interactive type TV technology, and to make asymmetric interactive digital TV publication broadcasting system, which is TV broadcasting in the next generation to treat visual image, sound, and various data all together by harmonizing broadcasting and communication like ISDB(Integrate Service Digital Broadcasting). In addition, to develop service on publication broadcasting with high quality, this study is to propose to develop relative devices for TV/PC reception to realize a new communication type TV publication broadcasting, by analyzing technology for producing, sending, transmitting, receiving, and saving to apply to customizing type interactive system and by examining its application.
The Effect of Time Delay on Adaptive QAM Schemes in Mobile Multimedia Communications

This paper provides a comprehensive study of the effect of time delay on adaptive transmission methods. By adaptive we mean that the transmission of data is made adaptive according to channel conditions. That is, the modulation level at the transmitter is carefully controlled for maximizing bandwidth efficiency, on the basis of the observation of instantaneous channel characteristics. By making use of the simulator developed for the present work, a large number of channel propagation environments including the models proposed in 3GPP were submitted to the simulator and the performance with respect to both time delay and SNR is observed. The results show that the performance is very sensitive to channel delay and in some cases the performance shows irreducible BER (IBER). A large amount of delay together with a high fading rate greatly affects the performance of adaptive transmission systems.
Noise Removal of Images Using the Median Rule Cellular Automata

In this paper we propose a noise reduction algorithm which based on cellular automata with the local median rule. It is supposed that there is no information about the features of the image that must be improved. The proposed method behavior is to locally increase or decrease the gray level differences of the image without loss of the main characteristics of the image. The dynamical behavior of these automata is completely determined by Lyapunov operators for sequential and parallel update. We have found that the automata present very fast convergence to fixed points, stability in front of random noisy images. Based on the experimental results we discuss the advantage and efficiency.
Wavelet based Feature Extraction of Human face

Human have a notable ability to recognize faces, which is one of the most common visual feature in our environment. In regarding face pattern, just like other natural object, a geometrical interpretation of face is difficult to achieve. In this paper, we present wavelet based approach to extract the face features. Proposed approach is similar to the feature based scheme, where the feature is derived from the intensity data without detecting any knowledge of the significant feature. Topological graphs are involved to represent some relations between facial features. In our experiments, proposed approach is less sensitive to the intensity variation.
The Design and Implementation of Secure Instant Messaging System

The Instant Messenger(IM) is the most popular personal communication tool today. IM is a tool that can substitute E-mail for a person, and can secure the user for a company. Further, it is claimed as it has a limitless potential. However, there has been several reports on security issues. It has known that the transmitting message is not secured for the attacks, and hacking tools has been developed. In addition, several reports has been made regards to the vulnerability. In other words, anyone can peep through and manipulate the messages that are sent or received via IM. This is a barrier for the IM to be developed as a corporate's strategic tool, and furthermore, it will create serious personal privacy issue. IETF IMPP Working (:roup is preparing a standard mutual relationship between IM. However, it is complicated due to the American On-Lines's absence, whom has ensured the most number of IM users. There was a discussion only about the form of the transmitting data, but it is insufficient state to discuss the security service for general. In this paper, 1 design and implement the Secure Instant Messaging System, to solve the IM's vulnerability and the security issue presented above.
Complemented CA derived from a linear Two-Predecessor MACA

The Study on the Automated Detection Algorithm for Penetration Scenarios using Association Mining Technique

In these days, it is continuously increased to the intrusion of system in internet environment. The methods of intrusion detection can be largely classified into anomaly detection and misuse detection. The former uses statistical methods, features selection method in order to detect intrusion, the latter uses conditional probability, expert system, state transition analysis, pattern matching. The existing studies for IDS(intrusion detection system) use combined methods. In this paper, we propose a new intrusion detection algorithm combined both state transition analysis and association mining techniques. For the intrusion detection, the first step is generated state table for transmitted commands through the network. This method is similar to the existing state transition analysis. The next step is decided yes or no for intrusion using the association mining technique. According to this processing steps, we present the automated generation algorithm of the penetration scenarios.
A Study on Seabed Interpretation System Using Supersonic Waves

In this study, we will develop the sea surface interpretation system that can aware the target in the bottom of the sea. we will setup the database whose records would be the signal patterns of formation about mud, sand, rock and sea shell achieved by using supersonic. then we will convert analog signal received in fish detector to digital one using A/D converter So we can process and analyze this signal pattern then compare it to the one in our Database at the real time to identify the target in the bottom of the sea. After enough times of experiments from the background of the results that have been achieved from many studies(including a water tank experiment and a field investigation), we can aware the exact information of the sediment and the sand in the sea. By analyzing the first, second and third signal of the supersonic characters reflected from the body of a fish categorized by its family and from the body of shellfish, muddy sand, sand and rocks, We will develop the sea surface decipherment system which abstracts the first signal that shows the target in the bottom of the sea and makes the second and third signals filtering.
Study on Underwater Sound of Red Seabream(Pagrus major) and Schlegel′s Black rockfish(Sebastes schlegeli)

In order to obtain the fundamental data on the underwater sound of fishes for marine ranching. The underwater sound of Red Seabream(Pagrus major) and Schlegel's black rockfish(Sebastes schfegeli) were measured, which character were summarized by FET analysis.
