Performance of W-CDMA System with SOVA-based Turbo Decoder in ITU-R Realistic Channel

Turbo codes of long block sizes have been known to show very good performance in an AWGN channel and the turbo code has been strongly recommended as error correction code for W-CDMA in 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project). Recently, turbo codes of short block sizes suitable for real time communication systems have attracted a lot of attention. Thus, in this paper we consider the turbo code of 1/3 code rate and short frame size of 192 bits in ITU-R channel model. We analyzed the performance of W-CDMA systems of 10MHz bandwidths employing RAKE receiver with not only MRC diversity but also SOVA-based turbo code.
A Study on the Implementation of Terminal System for the Fishing Ship Using Digital Fishing Network

To advance fisheries, we set developmental directions of fishery information by grasping present situations and analyzing maritime & fisheries issues. We promote various policies through effective systematical information data bases, based on both control and utilization of oceanic resources. For these puposes, it is imperative that we set up fisheries communication networks. There are satellite assisted informational networks to assist fishing vessels with their marine based movements. However, there's no hope for poorly equipped fishermen to adopt this network because of extravagant network call charges. So we think that using existing SSB communication system is the best plan. We organize fishery communication network by HF SSB communication which doesn't have operational costs. We build wireless transmitting and receiving stations that are basic systems of informnation, and equip wireless data communication systems by the use of wireless communication network protocols in coastal stations. It is necessary that a fish boat has a terminal device for wireless data communication. In this research we can conclude that if we transmit the location of a fishing boat in-real time through GPS channels then we propose that some methods be formulated to able terminal devices on fishing boats to collect various types of information, such as meteorological and oceanic conditions.
Performance Evaluation of OFDM Systems with Various Antenna Structure

OFDM are digital modulation techniques where a single data symbol is transmitted at multiple subcarriers which are orthogonal to each other. With this technique, frequency diversity can be achieved. The performance of OFDM systems with various antenna structure are analyzed, where data is transmitted over multi-path Rayleigh fading channel. The performance of this technique, gauged by the average bit error rate, is analyzed for the OFDM systems dependent upon the various antenna diversities.

The exist email program between Ship and Land has developed to reduce communication fee because of high satellite communication cost and low speed. Owing to this proper, the exist program has less flexibility and high speed. but to add or change functions is not easy. and it also have many difficulties for programmer to develop marine application because of delicate Satellite Radio communication. In this paper we design new protocol which consist of packet to give flexiblity and implement windows service program for programer to make marine applications easily like monitoring data, DB for Ship Management System, Planned Maintenance System.
Design of Multiple VoIP Service Networks for P2P Network Environments based on Portable Internet

In this study, we propose the multiple VoIP service networks for P2P network environments based on portable internet. We found that voiceservice using portable internet is possible for real time services. After we designe the multiple VoIP service networks for P2P network environments based on portable internet, evaluate the performances. from the performance evaluations, we found satisfactory results and so we can expect the possibility of the portable internet services.
Enhanced EDCF Algorithm Supporting Fair Transmissions in IEEE 802.11 WLAN

In a contention-based wireless LAN protocol, maximization of channel utilization and fair bandwidth allocations are main topics to deal with. But it is very difficult to achieve these two goals simultaneously. Many studies have been done to achieve these goals. In this paper we propose a control mechanism to support fair transmissions among traffic classes in IEEE 802.11e Wireless LAN. The proposed algorithm uses short-term and long-term transmission times of each traffic classes to control their
for fairness. The proposed algorithm don't need to know the exact number of nodes in the networks to support fairness as other studies do. Furthermore any modifications in AP and mobile hosts are not required.
Design and Implementation of Communication Module for Distributed Intelligence Control Using LonWorks

In this paper, we describes the design and implementation of LonWorks communication module for distributed intelligent control using LonWorks technology of Echelon. LonWorks communication module can be divided hardware and firmware. First, hardwares is divided into microcontroller attaching sensors and LonWorks components for working together control network and data network. Hardwares are consisted of neuron chip, microcontroller, transceiver, LONCard. Second, operating firmware is realized with neuron C using NodeBulider 3.0 development tool. Produced and implemented LonWorks communication module is pretested using LTM-10A, Gizmo 4 I/O board, parallel I/O Interface. For field test, microcontroller module part is tested by HyperTerminal, communication procedure in data network is certified by transmitting and receiving short message using LonMaker for Windows tool. Herewith, LON technology is based on network communication technique using LonWorks.
SVG Editing System based on XML for Structured Graphic Representation

A rapid development of Internet is changing users' desire from existing static contents to dynamic and diverse ones. Thus the SVG provides more affluent and sophisticated graphic expressions than an existing method based on bitmap, it can faithfully display vector graphics without scarifying any functions or the problem of device compatibility. In addition, it allows indexing, searching, storing, and sharing by the description of the logical structure of graphics. Since there are, however, very few people who know the complex SVG syntax and make use it, an editing system, which enables users to utilize the SVG graphics easily, has been in need. Therefore, in this thesis, we do research on basic technology on the SVG, design and make an editing system for SVG documents. The system, therefore, provides uses with a user-friendly editing interface and enables them to write graphic objects easily, and generates complex SVG documents automatically.
Design and Implementation of Web Service System based on SOAP for Interactive Product Order and Price Comparison

Currently, Price comparison sites receive inputs of product information and price manually after being joined by releted shopping mall companies, and can't support automatically price fluctuation of products in real time. Therefore, this paper designs and implements web service system based on SOAP for interactive product order and price comparison dynamically using web service technologies in real time. This web service system composes web service client module including functions of product search, sort and order, and server module including functions of remote procedure call for product search and order. This web service system implements interchanging product information based on SOAP messages and can support independence of platform and flexible potability in environment conforming to SOAP, WSDL and UDDI standards.
Implementation of VoIP Module for Embedded System

This paper designs and implements a VoIP module for embedded system. Many other VoIP modules for desktop environment has widely implemented but the one for embedded system is not prevalent yet. The implemented VoIP module uses the OpenH.323 and is operated on the WinCE PDA. We use the TCP-friendly adaptation for congestion control. The experiment results show smooth communication but a little noise. Future works include the minimization of noise.
Design of Sliding Mode Controller for AC Servo Motor of circular interpolation error improvement

The objective of this study is aimed at reducing the contour error of AC Servo derives by improving the interpolation error of each axis through variable structure control system. The errors in machining process by AC Servo motor are due to many elements, such as the delay of the servo drivers, friction and the gain mismatch between x axis and y axis motors and so on. Sliding mode control system is applied to a AC servo drive as a numerical example in this paper. The experiment results which are compared with those of typical PI scheme show the validity of improvement in circular interpolation error of the system.
Obstacle Avoidance Technique for Chaotic Mobile Robot

In this paper, we propose a method to avoid obstacles that have unstable limit cycles in a chaos trajectory surface. We assume all obstacles in the chaos trajectory surface have a Van der Pol equation with an unstable limit cycle. We also show computer simulation results of Arnold equation, Chua's equation, Hyper-chaos equation, Hamilton equation and Lorenz chaos trajectories with one or more Van der Pol obstacles.
A Novel Arbitrary Notches Generation Converter with Easy Control of Notch Width and Magnitude

In this paper a novel power converter for some notches generation in the point of common coupling is described. The magnitude, width, polarity, and position of the notches generated by the proposed scheme can be varied arbitrary with simple control. The scheme has good features of simple structure, high reliability, low cost, high efficiency, and the capability of arbitrary several notches generation. The converter can be used for the test of custom power devices such as UPS, DVR, active power filter, etc. The circuit operation is described and the usefulness of the scheme is verified through simulations.
Design of a New RF Buit-In Self-Test Circuit for Measuring 5GHz Low Noise Amplifier Specifications

This paper presents a new low-cost RF Built-In Self-Test (BIST) circuit for measuring transducer voltage gain, noise figure and input impedance of 5.25GHz low noise amplifier (LNA). The BIST circuit is designed using 0.18
SiGe technology. The test technique utilizes input impedance matching and output transient voltage measurements. The technique is simple and inexpensive. Total chip size has additional area of about 18% for BIST circuit.
Jitter Analysis of CMOS Ring Oscillator Due to 1/f Noise of MOSFET

It has been known that 1/f noise of MOSFET is generated by the superposition of single random telelgraph signals (RTS). In this study, jitters caused by 1/f noise of MOSFET are analysed with RTS supplied to all of the nodes of the CMOS ring oscillator under investigation. Through the analysis of the variations of jitters and jitter ratios with varying values of the amplitude of RTS, it is found that the jitters and the jitter ratios are proportional to the amplitude of RTS. And the analysis of FFT of the outputs of the ring oscillator reveals that the jitters are closely related to the phase noise of the high order harmonics of the ring oscillator outputs.
Breakdown Voltage Characteristics of LDMOST with External Field Ring

In this paper, we have proposed a new structure of LDMOST, which has been expected as a next generation RF power device, to improve the BV(Breakdown Voltage) characteristics. The proposed structure, named external field ring, is formed around a drift region by the three dimensional structure. The external field ring relieves the electric field in the drift region and improves the BV characteristics. By the three dimensional TCAD simulations, it was found that the BV of LDMOST was increased by the increase of the junction depth and doping concentration of the external field ring. Therefore, the BV characteristics of the LDMOST can be remarkably improved by addition of external field ring using an existing p+ sinker process.
Morphological Hand-Gesture Recognition Algorithm

The use of gestures provides an attractive alternate to cumbersome interface devices for human-computer interaction. This has motivated a very active research area concerned with computer vision-based analysis and interpretation of hand gestures. The most important issues in gesture recognition are the simplification of algorithm and the reduction of processing time. The mathematical morphology based on geometrical set theory is best used to perform the processing. A key idea of proposed algorithm in this paper is to apply morphological shape decomposition. The primitive elements extracted to a hand gesture include in very important information on the directivity of the hand gestures. Based on this characteristic, we proposed the morphological gesture recognition algorithm using feature vectors calculated to lines connecting the center points of a main-primitive element and sub-primitive elements. Through the experiment, we demonstrated the efficiency of proposed algorithm. Coupling natural interactions such as hand gesture with an appropriately designed interface is a valuable and powerful component in the building of TV switch navigating and video contents browsing system.
The Study of Visualization for Moving Particles in the Water Using Artificial Neural Network

In this paper, we proposed a visualization system with ANN algorithm that traits the motion of particles that move colliding in the water, where we got a great deal of variable information and predicts the distribution of particles according to the flowing of water and the pattern of their precipitation. We adopted ART2 to detect sensitively the collision between particles in this visualzation. Various particles and their mutual collision influencing the force such as buoyancy force, gravitational force, and the pattern of precipitation are considered in this system. Flowing particles whose motion is changed with the environment can be visualized in the system presented here as they are in real water.
Detection of Fingerprint Ridge Direction Based on the Run-Length and Chain Codes

In this paper, we proposed an effective method for detecting fingerprint ridge direction based on the run-length and chain codes. First, a fingerprint image is normalized, and it is thresholded to obtain binary image with foreground and background regions. The foreground regions is composed of fingerprint ridges, and the ridges is encoded with the run-length and chain codes. To detect directional information, the boundary of ridge codes is traced, and curvature is calculated at ecah point of boundary. And the detected direction value is smoothed with appropriate window locally. The proposed method is applied to NIST and FVC2002 fingerprint database to evaluate performance. By the experimental results, the proposed method can be used to obtain ridge direction value in fingerprint image.
Coefficients-Contorlled Watermarking Scheme using Fuzzy Inference

In this paper, We propose a image watermarking method which combine frequence-domain with fuzzy inference. In our method, the original image is transformed and decomposed using DWT. The watermark is added to high-frequency coefficients, which analyzed optimally so as to genarate the fuzzfied data. In order to evaluate the robustness, the embeded watermark is detected in case of attacking by JPEG compression and cropping. Experimental results showed that proposed scheme is superior to the typical method with PSNR and similarity under the same conditions.
Digital Color Image Watermarking for JPEG2000

Digital watermarking technology is one of method of protecting property from the illegal reproduction of digital data. This technology inserts the specific data in a certain file to identify the property, that is an author and rights, not for human to be seen and heard. In this paper, the watermarking technology which inserts a RGB color watermark in a JPEG2000 color image using the visual characteristics of wavelet coefficient was proposed. After applying various attack at a watermarked image according to proposed technology, the likeness between the original image, the watermark and the extracted watermark was measured and investigated. As a result, the PSNR value of image was varied depending on perceptual parameter, but we can obtain 32dB as a whole.
Reliable e-Commerce Model on P2P Environment

A P2P is a method that can share and exchange on digital resources through a direct connection on personnel without a central server. In this paper, we apply a P2P technology to a traditional electronic commerce method so that a seller and a customer can perform a commercial transaction through a direct communication. As such a result, we propose a new e-Commerce model on P2P environment to assure fairness in commercial transactions. To achieve our goal, we put an escrow server which is responsible for guarantee fair contents delivery and payment for the contents between a seller and a customer. When a customer buys content, he first obtains reputation values implicating reliability for the content and refers to these values to determine purchase. The proposed scheme, we can improve the reliability for the purchasing content and provide the fairness to both a seller and a customer simultaneously.
A Study of High Speed Retrieval Algorithm of Long Component Keyword

Effective keyword extraction is important in the information search system and there are several ways to select proper keyword in many keywords. Among them, DER Structure for AC Algorithm to search single keyword, can search multiple keywords but it has time complexity problem. In this paper, we developed a algorithm, "EDER structure" by expanding standalone search table based on DER structure search method to improve time complexity. A Study on the Secure Prescription Transmission System based on the XML

I propose a prescription transmission system based on XML in this paper, and it is not to attach a former signature to only a XML document for encoding of XML/EDI, and it is construction, one with the prescription transmission system which is safer with what use a way to attach a digital signature to DTD. I defined sub element to manage information prescription DTD defined prescription information, patient information, medical care organ information, prescription details information, compounding of medicines details information element according to for each a component of a prescription I went along, and to have looked up, and to have obeyed information transmission at he low rank. I read a DTD file for safe prescription transmission, and I do element or property, the entity which I do it, and is extracted here, and Pasing is saved in a table while being a field. If Pasing is finished, I read and lift a hash table and carry out message a digest. I compose it with an early private key and create a digital signature.
P2P DRM Algorithm for the protection of contents copyright

It is evaluated that there is infinit capability of creating new e business using P2P program. but the research for the method to protect the copyright of digital contents is urgent even for development of the p2p service because the problem of copyright protection for digital contents is not solved. Though this article, it can be induced that reliable contents sharing use to a flow fund by secure settlement architecture, user authentication and contents encryption and then it as the problem of copyright fee is solved, it is able to discontinue which trouble with a creation work for copyright fee and protection it's once again as growth of p2p market, p2p protocal is will be grow into a important protocal of advanced network. In this article, When users send digital contants to each other in internet, we proposed the P2P DRM algorism to offer a security function which using the technology of copyright management to use a AES Algorithm based on PKI.

In this paper, the new password system called SPS(Secure Password System) in order to enhance the security of the system as well as to improve the weakness of the password which is very easy to be disclosed by other people, improving the methods which is identifying the users' legality using the computer system in the multi-users computer. SPS is adopting several strong points such as Easy Embodiment, Low Cost, and most of the good points of the traditional password system. In addition, it makes an easy introduction from the traditional password system. The cost allocation of Voice and data traffic in Mobile Telephone Network

This paper discusses cost allocation model of common facilities in voice and data traffic of mobile telephone network. There are several methods to be considered including traffic, facility, revenue, Ramsey, and benchmarking in local loop unbundling for High Speed Internet. It is important to investigate the strength and weakness of each method. This paper reviews the theoretical literatures and compares the characteristics of each methodology. Also, case studies are employed to get the implications concerned. As a result, in the beginning, it is desirable to introduce 50:50 allocation method used in local loop unbundling in UK. Then, it is recommendable to apply the ratio allocation method as the quantities of voice and data traffic become equal.
Design of Diffractive Optical Element for Improving Jitter Characteristics of Optical Pickup

A diffractive optical element(DOE) for an optical pickup system is proposed in this thesis. Optimization algorithms are used to synthesise the DOE to meet a detailed specification of the two kind of cost function. The one isso called as apodization which refers to the process of suppressing the secondary maxima and the other is so called as sharpness which refers to the process of reducing the size of primary maxima. The result obtained by simplex optimization method is that the apodization and sharpness are well achieved separately. In apodization, the secondary maxima is reduced up to 39%. And in sharpness, the size of first maxima is reduced to 95.2％.
Optimal Directivity Synthesis and Vibration Analysis of (equation omitted)-type Piezoelectric Transducer

This paper carried out numerical calculation about the directivity synthesis problem in two dimension of adaptive ultrasonic transducers. Adaptive system for directivity synthesis is constructed by multi-electrode array on the surface of only one piezoelectric ceramic plate combined with optimal algorithm. In order to realize the desired directivity that is established arbitrarily, the optimal vibrational displacement is calculated by optimal algorithm (DFP method). Secondly, the optimal voltage of electrodes which is correspond to the calculated vibrational displacement is calculated used by finite element method and DFP method. And, the vibration analysis in two dimension of piezoelectric transducer carried out by means of finite element method.

With the rapid development of wireless communications and mobile technologies, requirements of various services based on moving objects like location-based services and mobile applications services have been increased. In this paper, we propose an index structure which can improve the performance on trajectory-based query especially, one of the various query types for moving objects in mobile applications. It maintains link table(L-Table) to obtain good efficiency on retrieval and insertion performance of the existing TB(Trajectory Bundle)-tree proposed for trajectory-based query of moving objects. The L-Table contains page number in disk and memory pointers pointing the leaf node with the first and last line segment of moving objects in order to directly access preceding node. In addition, we design to reside a part of whole index in main memory by preserving a fixed size of buffer in case of being restricted by available main memory. Finally, experimental results with various data sets show that the proposed technique is superior to the existing index structures with respect to insertion and trajectory-based query.
Methodology for customizing data mining system

As a finished product, most commercialized products of Data mining are supposed to support some or all of these functions. These products have an advantage to be available as soon as they are purchased. But, they have some limit to meet users' needs and companies' requirements and to be adaptable to different settings. This study is focused on how to introduce Data mining system and implement it as a form of customizing, instead of a form of finished product. Also, this study try to present several cases which actually used customizing with Oracle products and some other cases which used constructed data mining to analyse sales data.
Location Management System using CDMA Communications of Telematics Terminals

If the location information of a great number of cars kept for business with telematics terminals is acquired and managed efficiently, this information forms the foundation for controlling cars and traffic flows. The studies on the pure spatial indices have focused on the efficient retrievals. However, the acquisition and management of the terminal location of moving objects are more important than the efficiency of the query processing in the moving object databases. Therefore, it will be need to adopt parallel processing system for the moving object databases which should maintain the object's current location as precise as possible. This paper proposes a location management system using CDMA communications of telematics terminals. More precisely, we propose a architecture of spatial indexing mobile objects using multiple processors, and also newly propose a method of splitting buckets using the properties of moving objects in order to minimize the number of database updates. We also propose a acquisition method for gathering the location information of moving objects and passing the information of the bucket extents in order to reduce the amount of passed messages between processors.
The Development of a Machine-Parts Production Management System Based on XML for Productivity Improvement

The goal of this paper is to develop a production management system based on XML that exclusively applies to a production line of machine-parts. This paper aims to develop the related management modules and integrate them into the production management system based on XML technology. In terms of the implementation of the client/server database module, it develops the GUI application program that supports the communication between the subsystem that controls machine-parts and the server-side database. By developing the RPC emulator, the system remotely executes server module in the client GUI module. By developing the integration control module that integrates the independently executed modules, it controls the production management system that works as a single organic management system and by developing the POP system, it builds the information system of machine-parts performance records. This information system collects performance data through the serial port of the sensor attached to the machine-parts manufacturing machine, analyzes these data and display them in the GUI fashion, and immediately reflects them in production planning. And also it develops production management system based on XML by using XML technology.
