ECG Compression Structure Design Using of Multiple Wavelet Basis Functions

ECG signals are recorded for diagnostic purposes in many clinical situations. Also, In order to permit good clinical interpretation, data is needed at high resolutions and sampling rates. Therefore In this paper, we designed to compression structure using multiple wavelet basis function(SWBF) and compared to single wavelet basis function(SWBF) and discrete cosine transform(DCT). For experience objectivity, Simulation was performed using the arrhythmia data with sampling frequency 360Hz, resolution lIbit at MIT-BIH database. Multiple-Training LMS based Decision Feedback Equalizer with Soft Decision Feedback

A key issue toward mobile multimedia communications is to create technologies for broadband signal transmission that ran support high quality services. Such a broadband mobile communications system should be able to overcome severe distortion caused by time-varying multi-path fading channel, while providing high spectral efficiency and low power consumption. For these reasons, an adaptive suboptimum decision feedback equalize. (DFE) for the single-carrier short-burst transmissions system is considered as one of the feasible solutions. For the performance improvement of the system with the short-burst format including the short training sequence, in this paper, the multiple-training least mean square (MTLMS) based DFE scheme with soft decision feedback is proposed and its performance is investigated in mobile wireless channels throughout computer simulation.
A Study on Application of Common Phrase Function Based on WIPI Platform

Recently, domestic interest about wireless internet is rising gradually. Characteristic of present domestic wireless market is that mobile communication businessmans appropriate each other different mobile platform. So, contents provider's development environment can not be same each other. This makes contents providers repeat same work. To solve this problem, standardization work of wireless internet market was begun. The three mobile communication companies and TTA (Telecommunications Technology Association), RRU(Radio Research Laboratory), ETRI(Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) progressed standardization. By the result, May 2002, WIPI that is wireless standard platform selected by mobile platform standard that is TTA organization standard. In this paper, 1 am going to examine the WIPI. WIPI can reduce mostly expense that happen when we use different platform. 1 design and embody common phrase function. Through this, 1 am going to show improvement of the character input speed in cellular phone. And I wish to discuss expected cost decrease effect. Investigate about platform of treatise that is used in domestic. analyze about the characteristic, merits and demerits. Chatting service and common phrase function design and embody. Design and Implementation of System for Wireless Transmission of Medical Information Using Zigbee

An Implementation of Embedded SIP User Agent under Wireless LAN Area

This paper is about the research of the User Agent implementation under wireless embedded environment, using SIP which is one of protocol components construct the VoIP system. The User Agent is made of the User Agent configuration block, the device thread block to control devices and the SIP stack block to process SIP messages. The device thread consists of the RTP thread and the sound lard device processing block. Futhermore, the SIP stack consist of the worker thread to process proxy events, the SIP transceiver and SIP thread to transfer and receive SIP messages. The H/W platform is a board included the Intel's XScale PXA255 processor, flash memory, SDRAM, Audio CODEC module and wireless LAN threough PCMCIA socket, furthermore a microphone and headphone is used by the audio 1/0. The system has embedded linux kernel 2.4.19. For embedded environment, the function of User Agent and SIP method is diminished. Finally, the resource of system could be reduced about

A Study on the Digital Unit Development for Turbine Load Set Control

Effect of Nonlinear Power Amplifier and Carrier Frequency Offset on MC-DS-CDMA Systems

This paper evaluates the BER performance of MC-DS-CDMA systems in frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel, considering the carrier frequency offset and the nonlinear high power amplifier. In the uplink MC-DS-CDMA, the BER performance is better than in the downlink. This paper presents the required output back-off of the nonlinear amplifier and value of frequency offset for good BER performance.
A Study on Effects of Antenna Diversity in Doppler Spread Environments

Doppler spread can occur due to the relative movement of transmitter and receiver. The Doppler frequency shift varies as the relative location and the velocity of transceivers change. This Doppler spread may seriously degrade the performance of OFDM system which is considered to be very efficient for multimedia wireless communication. Performance Analysis of UWB System using S-Function Builder

The application of UWB not only complies with the requirements of remote sensors system(ECG), it also contributes to the effectiveness of the implementations through its unique qualities such as ultra low transmission power - an important factor when dealing with biomedical equipment. In this paper, the aim is to replace the wired ECG sensors with a wireless link and design wireless UWB communication system. The various pulse shapes are presented that satisfies the FCC spectral mask and FCC part 15 rule. It is shown that UWB can be a high rate transmission over short ranges using Rake receiver, with the capability for reliably transmitting 100Mbps over distance at about 10 meters.

A Study on Improvement of the Ship's Bearing Information using GPS

The purpose of the study is to develop ship's bearing sensor using GPS receiver which can play a role as a ship's secondary compass. In this research, two GPS receivers are used to determine the bearing in real time. Then we investigated the bearing accuracy associated with the error pattern of two GPS receivers. Especially, the results are as follows the investigation on the system design of GPS-Compass, the modeling to compute heading of sailing, the analysis on bearing accuracy with the error pattern, the defining possibility to play a role as a ship's secondary compass.
Restricted Multi-path Flooding for Efficient Data Transmission in Wireless Sensor Networks

The key in wireless sensor networks, which consist of a number of sensor nodes, is an energy efficiency. Many routing protocols have been proposed for prolonging network lifetime and reducing traffic in wireless sensor networks. Wireless sensor networks usually use wireless ad-hoc network protocols for routing, but these protocols are not well-suited for wireless sensor networks due to many reasons. In this paper, RM-flooding protocol is proposed for reducing routing overhead occurred when packet flooding. The nodes using this routing protocol can consume the limited energy effectively, and exchange information with remote nodes usulg information receiving from multipath. So, RM-flooding prolongs the network's lifetime

In this paper, we design and implement a distributed web-storage and a group office system based on the distributed web-storage. It is easier to customize the proposed group office according to user's demands than existing web-based applications. Our proposed web-storage is distributed system which consists of multiple storage servers. The web-storage provides storage with considering the user's location so as to provide fast storage service.
A Study on MAC Core for 10Gbps Ethernet

The designed MAC core is applicable to an area that needs a high-speed data processing of 10Gbps or more.

Therefore, MPEG-21 framework proposed the REL(Right Expression Language) based on XML(extensible Markup Language) by rights expression language for rights management. We designed and implemented of the REL document editing system that rights creation and edit are available efficiently about contents easily without comprehension of MPEG-21 framework and client system that present consumption method of REL document.
A Design of Video Conversation System Using the UML

Recently, the object-oriented design is the major paradigm for software development. Most systems are following this paradigm, but the past studies for a video conversation domain were not based on full-scale object-oriented design. Thus, this paper presents an systematical architecture design using UML for a video conversation system that is well-known and has high rate of usefulness. It analysis a video conversation system that has much demand of service as systematical functional/non-functional requirements, and the object-oriented design applying '4+1 View Model' guarantees the reusability of a component and makes it possible to extend a system by adding components as needed. Consequently, it is expected that the components of video conversation system designed by this paper will be useful the other video conversation systems and will be expanded to web environment.
Malfunction Characteristics of Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers against Electrical Surges

Malfunction by electrical surges is a serious problem on earth leakage current breakers(ELBs) used in a low voltage AC power system. In this paper, we tested ELBs according to IEC 61009-1 and KS C 4613 to analyze surge influence on ELB's malfunction. The test by application of surge voltage is specified both standards, but the test by application of surge current is specified only in IEC 61009-1. The experimental results showed that the ELBs used in this test are robust to surge voltage application, but the malfunction occurred to surge current application. Surge current is more frequent than surge voltage in actual situation. Therefore, ELBs should be tested by the surge current, and the domestic standard, KS C 4613, should includes a test procedure by the surge current application.

A Fast Lock and Low Jitter Phase Locked Loop with Locking Status Indicator

This paper presents a new structure of Phase Locked Loop(PLL) which changes its loop bandwidth according to the locking status. The proposed PLL consists of a conventional PLL and, Locking Status Indicator(LSI). The LSI decides the operating bandwidth of loop filler. When the PLL becomes out of lock, the PLL increases the loop bandwidth and achieves fast locking. When the PLL becomes in-lock, this PLL decreases the loop bandwidth and minimizes phase noise output. Implementation of Channel Coding System using Viterbi Decoder of Pipeline-based Multi-Window

In the paper, after we propose a viterbi decoder which has multiple buffering and parallel processing decoding scheme through expanding time-divided imput signal, and map a FPGA, we implement a channel coding system together with PC-based software. Continuous input signal is buffered as order of decoding length and is parallel decoded using a high speed cell for viterbi decoding. Output data rate increases linearly with the cell formed the viterbi decoder, and flexible operation can be satisfied by programming controller and modifying input buffer. The tell for viterbi decoder consists of HD block for calculating hamming distance, CM block for calculating value in each state, TB block for trace-back operation, and LIFO. The implemented cell of viterbi decoder used 351 LAB(Logic Arrary Block) and stably operated in maximum 139MHz in APEX20KC EP20K600CB652-7 FPGA of ALTERA. Thermal Flow Characteristics of a New Micro Flow Sensor with Multiple Temperature Sensing Elements

A micro flow sensor on silicon substrate allows the fabrication of small components where many different functions can be integrated so that the functionality of the sensors can be increased. Further more, the small size of the elements these sensors can be quite fast. A thermal mass flow sensor measures the asymmetry of temperature profile around the heater which is modulated by the fluid flow. In normal, a mass flow sensor is composed of a central heater and a pair of temperature sensing elements around the heater A new 2-D wide range micro flow sensor structure with three pairs of temperature sensors and a central heater was proposed and numerically simulated by Finite Difference formulation to confirm the feasibility of the flow sensor structure in time domain.
A Study on the Fabrication and the Impedance Matching of SPUDT Type SAW Filter

We have studied to obtain the SAW filter for the Single Phase Unidirectional Transduce. (SPUDT), was formed on the Langasite substrate and was evaporated by Aluminum-Copper alloy and then we performed computer-simulated by simulator. We can fabricate that the block weighted type IDT as an input transducer of the filter and the withdrawal weighted type IDT as an output transducer of the filter from the results of our computer-simulations. Also, we have performed to obtain the properly conditions about impedance matching of the SAW filter for SPUDT. We have employed that the number of pairs of the input and output IDT are 50 pairs and the thickness and the width of reflector are 5000A and

. Frequency response of the fabricated SAW filter has the property that the center frequency is about 190MHz and bandwidth at the 3dB is probably 7.7MHz after when we have matched impedance. Also, we could obtain that ripple characteristics is less than 0.4dB and standing wave ratio is probably 1.5 after when we have matched impedance.
Fatigue and Retention Characteristics of PLZT(10/y/z) Thin films with Various Zr/Ti Concentrations Ratio

Robust Watermarking toward Compression Attack in Color Image

An Vision System for Automatic Detection of Vehicle Passenger

This paper presents an active vision system for ITS(intelligent transportation system : ITS). We have described a novel method to provide high quality imaging signals to a system that will perform passenger detection and counting in the roadway. The method calls for two co-registered near-infrared cameras with spectral sensitivity above (upper-band) and below (lower-band) the quality of the signal remains. We propose a novel system based on fusion of near-infrared imaging signals and we demonstrate its adequacy with theoretical and experimental arguments.
One-Pass Identification Processing Password

Almost all network systems provide an authentication mechanism based on user ID and password. In such system, it is easy to obtain the user password using a sniffer program with illegal eavesdropping. The one-time password and challenge-response method are useful authentication schemes that protect the user passwords against eavesdropping. In client/ server environments, the one-time password scheme using time is especially useful because it solves the synchronization problem. It is the stability that is based on Square Root problem, and we would like to suggest OPI(One Pass Identification), enhancing the stability for all of the well-known attacks by now including Free-playing attack, off-line Literal attack, Server and so on. OPI does not need to create the special key to read the password. OPI is very excellent in identifying the approved person within a very short time.
VLSI Design of an Improved Structure of a

In this contribution, we developed and improved an existing GF (Galois field) dividing algorithm by suggesting a novel architecture for a finite field divider, which is frequently required for the error correction applications and the security-related applications such as the Reed-Solomon code, elliptic curve encryption/ decryption, is proposed. We utilized the VHDL language to verify the design methodology, and implemented the architecture on an FPGA chip. We suggested the n-bit lookup table method to obtain the throughput of 2m/n cycles, where m is the order of the division polynomial and n is the number of the most significant lookup-bits. By doing this, we extracted the advantages in achieving both high-throughput and less cost of the gate areaon the chip. A pilot FPGA chip was implemented with the case of m=4, n=2. We successfully utilized the Altera's EP20K30ETC144-1 to exhibit the maximum operating clock frequency of 77 MHz.
Phase Offset Correction using Early-Late Phase Compensation in Direct Conversion Receiver

In recent wireless communications, direct conversion transceiver or If sampling SDR-based receivers have being designed as an alternative to conventional transceiver topologies. In direct conversion receiver a.chitectu.e, the 1.equency/phase offset between the RF input signal and the local oscillator signal is a major impairment factor even though the conventional AFC/APC compensates the service deterioration due to the offset. To rover the limited tracking range of the conventional method and effectively aid compensation scheme in terms of I/Q channel imbalances, the frequency/phase offset compensation in RF-front end signal stage is proposed in this paper. In RF-front end, the varying phase offset besides the fixed large frequency/phase offset are corrected by using early-late phase compensator. A more simple frequency and phase tacking function in digital signal processing stage of direct conversion receiver is effectively available by an ingenious frequency/phase offset tracking method in RF front-end stage
Design of Cascode HBT-MMIC Amplifier with High Cain and Low Noise Figure

According to the design concept of microwave front-end, a low noise amplifier block using HBT cascode topology is proposed to provide high gain and low noise figure with low bias current. We has implemented MMIC-LNA with a modified configuration using inductors to show low noise at the emitter and base of cascoded HBT-MMIC amplifier. The measured performance of the designed MMIC-LNA at 3.7GHz are a gain of 19dB, noise figure of 2.7dB and image rejection of 35dBc using a supply of 3mA and 2.7V. We can convinced that cascoded amplifier block to fulfill a high gain, low noise and image rejection if microwave front-end receiver is designed by cascode MMEC-LNA with the active image rejection filter.
XML-Based Tourism Information System Using Mobile Agent under Distributed Environment

The internet is comprised of various users with diverse hardware and software platforms. This paper presents a tourism information system which enables the stable and reliable transmission of information over the dispersed, heterogeneous, and/or mobile platforms. The proposed system assumes XML as the basic document format since it has been accepted by W3C as the standard for information exchange on the internet This paper exploits the characteristics of JAVA and XML as they provide software applications independent of the platforms. The proposed system also deploys Aglet, a mobile agent developed by IBM, to ensure a dynamic and flexible performance of the system over the internet. The system provides the user oriented search and retrieval of tourism information, and also enables the reservation of various services and facilities with mobile devices.
Design and Implementation of Wire/wireless Web Service System based on SOAP

This paper designs and implements wire/wireless web service system based on SOAP for price comparison dynamically using web service technoloies in real time. This web service system composes web service client module including functions of product search, product sort, product order and UDDI retrieval browser, and server module including functions of remote procedure call for product search/order and functions of UDDI publish browser, and mobile client module supporting functions for product search/order in wireless environments. This web service system can exchange product information based on SOAP messages and support independence of platform and flexible portability in environment conforming to SOAP, WSDL and UDDI standards.
Coordinate Calibration of the ODVS using Delta-bar-Delta Neural Network

This paper proposes coordinates transformation and calibration algorithm using 3D parabolic coordinate transformation and delta-bar-delta neural algorithm for the omni-directional image captured by catadioptric camera. Experimental results shows that the proposed algorithm has accuracy and confidence in coordinate transformation which is sensitive to environmental variables.
Optimal Design Method of Quantization of Membership Function and Rule Base of Fuzzy Logic Controller using the Genetic Algorithm

In this paper, we proposed a method that optimal values of fuzzy control rule base and quantization of membership function are searched by genetic algorithm. Proposed method searched the optimal values of membership function and control rules using genetic algorithm by off-line. Then fuzzy controller operates using these values by on-line. Proposed fuzzy control system is optimized the control rule base and membership function by genetic algorithm without expert's knowledge. We investigated proposed method through simulation and experiment using DC motor and one link manipulator, and confirmed the following usefulness.
Car Plate Recognition using Morphological Information and Enhanced Neural Network

In this paper, we propose car license plate recognition using morphological information and an enhanced neural network. Morphological information on horizontal and vertical edges was used to extract the license plate from a car image. We used a contour tracking algorithm combined with the method of histogram and location information to extract individual characters in the extracted plate. The enhanced neural network is proposed for recognizing them, which has the method of combining the ART-1 and the supervised teaming method. The proposed method has applied to real world car images. The experimental results show that the proposed method has better the extraction rates than the methods with information of the thresholding, the RGB and the HSI, respectively. And the proposed neural network has better recognition performance than the conventional neural networks.
