Subspace Method Based Precoding for MIMO Spatial Multiplexing

In this paper, for spatial multiplexing with limited feedback, we propose subspace based precoding in which the active bases are selected at the receiver from a finite number of basis sets known at both receiving and transmitting ends, conveyed to the transmitter using limited feedback, and assembled into a preceding matrix at the transmitter. The selected bases are conveyed to the transmitter using feedback information on both the index of a basis set, which indicates the most appropriate set of coordinates for describing a MIMO channel, and the active bases having the significant amounts of energy in the selected basis set. We show that the proposed subspace based precoding provides capacity similar to that of the closed-loop MIMO even with limited feedback.
Multibeam-based Subspace Approach for Code Acquisition in Antenna Array DS-CDMA Systems

In this paper, the use of an antenna array is considered for code timing acquisition of DS-CDMA signals. The probabilities of acquisition are evaluated by applying multiple narrow fixed-beams to the conventional MUSIC acquisition approach in the multiuser environment on the time-varying Rayleigh fading channel. Each fixed-beam for spatial filtering is dedicated to an individual angular sector that is formed by dividing the entire angular domain by the number of antenna elements. The fixed-beams with a capability of interference suppression provide the additional degrees of freedom,. Hence, the multibeam-based MUSIC estimator can be used to synchronize to more users than the conventional MUSIC algorithm for one antenna. The multibeam-based subspace method is evaluated to significantly improve the performance of a single antenna based MUSIC technique in multiuser scenarios.
Exact Bit Error Rate Calculation of UWB-TH PPM Multiple Access Communication systems

The exact bit error rate(BER) calculation of an UWB-TH PPM multiple access communication system, which is known to be suitable for the fast transmission of massive information data, is introduced. The statistic feature of the multiple access intereference (MAI) of the system is precisely modeled by the characteristic function technique. The concrete expression for the MAI allows the exact expression for BER to be derived. In addition, we propose the approximate expression for the BER which reveals superior accuracy to the expression from the previous Gaussian approximation of the MAI. The validity of the proposed expressions is confirmed from the comparison of proposed results with the results from Monte-Carlo simulation.
Performance Analysis of OFDM Communication Systems Considering PDP of Mobile Channels

In this paper, various power delay profiles (PDP) are simulated to study the influence of the PDP shape on the bit error rate (BER) performance of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems. Assuming Rayleigh fading with 16-QAM modulation scheme, the simulation focuses on the investigation of the various shapes of the PDP which are often characterized by peaks, slope, attenuation and distance of an echo profile of waves. This yields information about the properties of the channel, and can be applied to decide the performance of the systems according to the channel.
Performance Evaluation of the AODV-Based Extended Network Lifetime Protocol Using the Energy Mean Value over MANET

An Ad-hoc network which do not use wired and base station system is composed the group of mobile and wireless nodes. That is various type of restriction. The biggest restriction is depend on the confined energy of battery. The network is devide more than two, if one of nodes consumed all energy that node can no longer participate to network. In recent years, the many number of studies research not only energy saving but also the networks lifetime extension which is to solve this problem. In this paper, we examine a AODV routing protocol which is modified to improve networks lifetime in mobile ad-hoc network. The one of improvement for AODV protocol is maximize the networks lifetime as apply Energy Mean Value algorithm which considerate node energy. We show the effectiveness for modified AODV(New-AODV) compared with AODV using NS-2(Network Simulator 2) the various performance metrics.
Real-time Implementation of Speech and Channel Coder on a DSP Chip for Radio Communication System

This paper deals with procedures and results for teal time implementation of G.729 speech coder and channel coder including convolution codec, viterbi decoder, and interleaver using a fixed point DSP chip for radio communication systems. We described the method for real-time implementation based on integer simulation results and explained the implemented results by quality performance and required complexity for real-time operation. The required complexity was 24MIPS and 9MIPS in computational load, and 12K words and 4K words in execution code length for speech and channel. The functional evaluation was performed into two steps. The one was bit exact comparison with a fixed point C code, the other was executed by actual speech samples and error test vectors. Unlik other results such as individual implementation, We implemented speech and channel coders on a DSP chip with 160MIPS computation capability and 64 K words memory on chip. This results outweigh the conventional methods in the point of system complexity and implementation cost for radio communication system.
Design of Shipboard integrated network platform for Digital-ship

For the efficient and safe navigation management of ships cruising across oceans, international maritime law environments have been reinforced and the demand of information sharing between ships and shore has also been increasing. According to these environments and demand. researches about digital ships, ship integration, and ship integration networks have been active recently in US and Europe. In this raper, we first investigate about the proper ship integration platform, and then design and implement a ship integration network based upon the ship integration platform. We construct networks connecting various devices and systems into a layered architecture, and design an integration protocols. Based upon this architecture and protocols, we implement an ship integration system which manages all data and information of ship in a standardized platform and support ship-shore information sharing through which the more efficient and safer ship navigation management are supported with help from shore. We test our ship integration system by applying it to real operating ships and we find our system reliability and verify the efficiency of ship-shore information sharing and management.
Design and implementation of an Embedded Network Processor

Current generation embedded systems are built around only a small number of SOCs, which are again based on general-purpose embedded micro-processors, such as ARM and MIPS. These RISC-based processors are not, however, designed for specific functions such as networking and multimedia processing, whose importances have increased dramatically in recent years. Network devices for small business and home networks, are especially dependent upon such SOCs based on general processors. Except for PHY and MAC layer functions, which are built with hardware, all the network functions are processed by the embedded micro-processor. Enabling technologies such as VDSL and FTTH promise Internet access with a much higher speed, while at the same time explore the limitations of general purpose microprocessors. In this paper we design a network processor, embed it into an SOC for Home gateway, evaluate the performance rigorously, and gauge a possibility for commercialization.
A Design and Implementation of the DMB Data Inserter System for terrestrial DMB data Broadcasting

The effort to expand digital contents market and get more users is growing. This is being done by interconnecting the existing broadcasting data services and two-way data services in mobile network with the terrestrial DMB transmitting system. However, the interconnection is not easy because various data service system uses difference protocols to transmit digital contents and the receiving protocol of terrestrial DMB system is the standardized one. In this paper, we designed and implemented the middleware structured system, trying to minimize problems and difficulties in the interconnection of the data service system and terrestrial DMB transmitting system. We considered the readiness of the extension of the various transmitting method in the various data service systems and also implemented Terrestrial DMB Data Inserter system that transmits contents data on the broadcasting schedule.
A Game Computing Environment and a Guideline for Developing 3-Dimensional Racing Games

The purpose of this paper is to overview the recently changed environments of developing a computer game software and propose an appropriate developemnt methodology to these environments. For the speed of playing 3-dimensional games in window-based environments of personal computer, we investigated DirectX as a game development library and suggested a guideline for developing 3-dimensional computer games which is compatible with various hardware platforms and keep up a fitting speed of game-playing.

In this paper, I propose the wavelet image coding method using band adaptive quantization and the significant cluster extraction. The proposed method can reduce to unnecessary additional seed data which create on conventional MRWD coding, because it eliminate cluster which smaller than structuring element by using morphology. A Study on the Performance Analysis of Adaptive Modulation for Next Generation Mobile Communication System

This paper proposes an adaptive multislot allocation algorithm in order to achieve larger system capacity and higher throughput data transmissions. The proposed system is the combination of the slow adaptive modulation system, in which the base station dynamically assigns optimum modulation parameters measuring the SNR of each transmission terminal, and the multislot allocation scheme, in which the base station flexibly allocates an appropriate number of TDMA data slots according to the instantaneous load conditions. Computer simulations confirm that the proposed system can tremendously improve average message delay characteristics in comparison with the conventional fixed slot allocation method.
A Computer Simulation on the Efficiency of Energy Consumption for Quadruped Walking Robot

Though a legged robot has a high terrain adaptability as compared with a wheeled robot, its moving speed is considerably low in general. For attaining a high moving speed with a logged robot, a dynamically stable walking is a promising solution. However, the energy efficiency of a dynamically stable walking is generally lower than the efficiency of a stable gait such as a crawl gait. In this paper, energy consumption of two walking patterns for a trot gait is simulated through modeling a quadruped walking robot named TITAN-VIII.
Development of a Surge Protective Device for Computer Network to International Standards

This paper dealt with the development of surge protection devices (SPDs) that can protect high speed computer network devices from overvoltages caused by switching operations or lightning surges. The designed SPD is a form of hybrid circuit which is composed of a gas tube having large current diverting capability, high response bi-directional avalanche diodes, and fast recovery diodes to reduce insertion loss on high frequency domain. Surge protection and signal transmission characteristics of the fabricated SPD was tested according to the international standards, IEC 61000-4-5 and IEC 61643-21. From the test results, the SPD is satisfied with the international standards and the high cut-off frequency was 204 MHz. Also, the SPD showed a good performance without an insertion loss on a field test of 100 Mbps class Local Area Network
A Study on the Design of an Elevator Driving Control Circuit Using SFC Language

Ladder Diagram(LD) is the most extensively used among PLC standard language for the design of control system. But LD has the disadvantages for data processing and maintenance. On the other hand, the Sequential Function Chart(SFC) graphic language is very powerful for describing the sequential logic control algorithm. SFC is based on flow chart, so control flow understanding is very easy and divergence can possible improving its ability. In this paper, we propose the efficient management elevator system using the action qualifiers and choice divergence. From the result, we confirm the SFC language reduced program memory capacity and processing time is faster than LD language.
Mixer using the direct-conversion method

In this paper, Mixer using the direct-conversion method intended to use in front-end of a RF receiver is designed. The direct conversion Mixer is an alternative wireless receiver architecture to the well-established superheterodyne, particularly for high integration, low power, and low cost. It operates at 2.4GHz band, and is designed and simulated with a 0.35um CMOS technology and HSPICE simulator. Layout is implemented with a Mentor IC Station. The 2.4GHz CMOS Mixer employs a modified single-balanced Gilbert Cell with additional MOSFET in the output stages to improve IIP2, which is a standard of linearity in direct conversion receiver. Additional coversion-stages's transconductances are controlled by each MOSFET's physical properties. The HSPICE simulation results show that the 2.4GHz CMOS Mixer has voltage gam of 29dB, IIP2 of 63dBm, respectively. The Mixer also draws 3.5mA from a 3.3V supply.
A Study on the Data Transmission line of communication system

FPGA has been widely used in communication system. In this paper, we made 10 layers PCB on protection of signal noise and data lose with FPGA. We analyzed about change of the data transmission speed and length according to input frequency. The length of transmission line from FPGA's output-pin to output-port on PCB board is 13cm and extended lengths for test are 30cm, 60cm and 10cm. We knew that data can be stably transmitted to 100Mbps at transmission line length of 30cm
The Area Segmentation Pattern Matching for COG Chip Alignment

The accuracy of chip alignment in inferior product inspection of COG(Chip On Glass) to be measured a few micro unit is very important role since the accuracy of chip inspection depends on chip alignment. In this paper, we propose the area segmentation pattern matching method to enhance the accuracy of chip alignment. The area segmentation pattern matching method compares, and matches correlation coefficients between the characteristic features within the detailed area and the areas. The three areas of pattern circumference are learned to minimize the matching error by bad pattern. The proposed method has advantage such as reduction of matching time, and enhanced accuracy since the characteristic features are searched within the segmented area.
Multiple-Output Combinational Digital Logic Systems based on Decision Diagram

This paper presents a design method for multiple-output combinational digital logic systems using time domain based on multiplexing(TDBM) and common multi-terminal extension decision diagrams(CMTEDD). The CMIEDDs represents extension valued multiple-output functions, while TDBM systems transmit several signals on a single lines. The proposed method can reduce the 1)hardware, 2)logic levels and 3)pins. In the logic system design, we use two types of decision diagrams(DDs), that is the common binary decision diagrams(CBDDs) and CMTEDDs. Also, we propose an algorithms to derive common multiple-terminal binary decision diagrams(CMTBDD) from CBDDs, and CMTEDDs from CMTBDDs. The CMTEDDs over CBDDs is more compactness in terms of number of non-terminal nodes, where the nodes for output selection variables are not included in the non-terminal nodes. In the logic design, each non-terminal nodes of an CBDDs and an CMTEDDs is realized by a multiplexer(MUX). In addition, we compare the proposed TDBM realization with the conventional one.
Implementation of Agent Network for Active Responses against Intrusions

In this paper, we investigate the problems of existing solutions for intrusion detection and propose an agent network based on stationary and mobile agents on agent system to solve them. The proposed agent network can detect intrusions, collect their information and execute active responses against intruders by introducing various stationary and mobile agents. It will show a new approach of active responses against more intelligent and distributed intrusions.
Improving QoS using Cellular-IP/PRC in Wireless Internet Environment

PACS Security Algorithm Design using Watermark

It is hard to protect the copyright of the medical images by the Copyright Act because the medical images have the digital property. Especially, if people copy the medical image, another original one will be created. Thus, people send the original medical image to the others unconsciously. After all, it can not dispute about who made the image for the first time. Nowadays, the medical environment has been changed to the digital environment rapidly. So, the study on the security of the medical image is needed. In this paper, we search the significant problems of the part and we research the security of the medical image using the watermark for addressing the problems. However, we could know that our study has the limitation of the legal certification because we could not guarantee about the integrity that is the important feature of the medical images.

Specially, though electronic commerce and electron signature technology through internet rose, PKI (Public Key Ifrastructure) is one of technologies. PKI brought several kind of new standards in encryption base technology. In spite of several kind of standardizations consist lively, shortcoming of solutions that apply PKI is expensive and slow. If main interest of encryption technology including PKI is the fast speed and security that improve, this is very serious problem. The various kinds alternatives about these problem are presented. But, we must consider about replace expense and stability etc. still. So, I propose that use suitable encryption policy by method to solve such problem. I improved some problems of existent PKI structure. Subject of this treatise designs and embody communication component could use easily and simply short message communication or simplicity way encryption communication.
A Comparative Analysis of EAP Authentication/Key-Establishment Protocols

EAP (Extensible authentication protocol) is a sort of general framework for authentication rather than a specific authentication protocol. An important consequence of this is that EAP can accommodate a variety of authentication/key-establishment protocols for different internet access networks possibly integrated to a common IP core network This paper tries a comparative analysis of several specific authentication/key establishment protocols for EAP, and suggest a strategic viewpoint toward the question: which one to un. In addition, we tried to make things clear about an intellectual property right issue with regard to some password-based protocols.
Design of the Kernel Hardening Function for Stability the Linux Operating System

This paper is based on the study to reduce a system panic state. A panic state could be caused by a programmer or an administrator's careless mistake. The proposed hardening Operating System of this paper stops the process which is running in the kernel with an error. The error process for the value type and the address type of a certain variable have to be restored. Installed with kernel hardening, Operating System checks the recovery possibility of the process first and then restores the process which can be recovered. When it is possible to recover the kernel code with an error, it is to be recovered in ASSERT() function.
A Sequential Monte Carlo inference for longitudinal data with luespotted mud hopper data

Sequential Monte Carlo techniques are a set of powerful and versatile simulation-based methods to perform optimal state estimation in nonlinear non-Gaussian state-space models. We can use Monte Carlo particle filters adaptively, i.e. so that they simultaneously estimate the parameters and the signal. However, Sequential Monte Carlo techniques require the use of special panicle filtering techniques which suffer from several drawbacks. We consider here an alternative approach combining particle filtering and Sequential Hybrid Monte Carlo. We give some examples of applications in fisheries(luespotted mud hopper data).
A Study on the development of a burst-mode optical transceiver for optical access networks

Recently, the development of passive optical networks (PON) for FTTH (Fiber-To-The-Home) have been actively conducted. In PON, a burst-mode transceiver is one of key modules. In this paper, we have made the protype module of a 155.52 Mpbs optical burst-mode transceiver with commercially available chips and then have measured the performance. Also, a new method of burst-mode clock recovery have been proposed. The burst-mode clock recovery implemented by using CPLD(Complex Programmable Logic Device) has coupled with the above burst-mode transceiver and has been tasted.
Digital North Finding Method based on Fiber Optic Gyroscope

In the gyrocompass system, the use of the fiber optic gyroscope(FOG) makes this traditional system considerably attractive because it has strong points in terms of weight, power, warming-up time, and cost. In this paper, a novel digital north-finding method based upon an FOG, which can be applied to the gyrocompass system, is proposed. The analytical model for the earth signal of the FOG is described, and the earth signals passed through lock-in amplifiers are modeled. Additionally, a north-finding algorithm using two lock-in amplifier outputs is developed, and the proposed method is organized by the developed algorithm. Simulation results are included to verify the performance of the proposed method.
Minimization of Security Policies in Database Security System applying Role-Based Access Control

There are many security models for database systems using policy-based access control. RBAC (Role-based Access Control) is used for complementing MAC (Mandatory Access Control) and DAC (Discretionary Access Control) and is for performing flexibly security policies meet applied environment. We implemented the database security system that applies DAC, MAC, and RBAC to meet security requirements of users. However, security policies are constructed redundantly whenever security policies are needed to each user in this system. Even though the proposed security system can flexibly control more complicated 'read' access to various data sizes for individual users, it is obvious that there is a possibility that a new policy can be a duplication of existing policies. In this paper, we introduce the problem of policy duplication and propose the policy management module. With this proposed module, constructed policies are checked for duplication and deleted or merged with existing policies.
Design and Implementation of Inventory Sharing Function for e-Marketplace using XML

Vertical e-Marketplaces have been expanded because of their enough funds and purchasing power, while horizontal e-Marketplaces have not been grown. On the e-Marketplace which is dealing electronic components with the characteristics of short life cycle and diversities, if an e-Marketplace participant holds a large quantity of the same kinds of components, it will result in lowering competitiveness of the company because of its unuseful inventory. Therefore, as a method for increasing competitiveness of e-Marketplace participants, we proposed the inventory sharing method among the participants, and then designed and implemented it in this paper. For providing inventory sharing function, the e-Marketplace system needs intermediary because each system of participants participating e-Marketplace uses its own DBMS respectively. In this paper, we implemented inventory sharing function using XML, which is a standard for exchanging data, as intermediary, and showed an example of the implemented system.
Estimation of Weld Bead Shape and the Compensation of Welding Parameters using a hybrid intelligent System

For efficient welding it is necessary to maintain stability of the welding process and control the shape of the welding bead. The welding quality can be controlled by monitoring important parameters, such as, the Arc Voltage, Welding Current and Welding Speed during the welding process. Welding systems use either a vision sensor or an Arc sensor, both of which are unable to control these parameters directly. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain necessary bead geometry without automatically controlling the welding parameters through the sensors. In this paper we propose a novel approach using fuzzy logic and neural networks for improving welding qualify and maintaining the desired weld bead shape. Through experiments we demonstrate that the proposed system can be used for real welding processes. Performance Analysis of Call Admission Control Mechanism for Intelligent Information Processing of Non-Uniform Traffic Distribution in CDMA Environment

In this paper, we propose and the call admission control mechanism that can improve the capacity of the wireless system for the non-uniform traffic load distribution based intelligent information in multiple cellular CDMA environment. The number of mobile stations that can be served simultaneously in a base station is limited by the amount of total interference received in CDMA system. Further, the average number of mobile stations in each cell may not be uniformly distributed. In this paper, considering this factors, the call admission control mechanism using the effective bandwidth concept is adapted to improve the system capacity of non-uniform traffic load distribution based intelligent information. Thus, the bandwidth for a new call can be varied dynamically for reducing the blocking rate of new calls and the dropping rate of handoff calls. The suggested call admission control mechanism is experimented through simulation by dynamically assigning the bandwidth to new and handoff calls. The simulation results show that the proposed call admission control mechanism can accommodate more mobile stations than the other methods in multiple cellular CDMA environment.
A Study on Optimal Configuration for Mobile Manipulator Using Divide-and-Conquer Control

Mobile manipulator is a robot that has mobility and manipulability with the combination of the task robot and mobile robot. One of the most important feature of the Mobile Manipulator is redundant freedom. Using the redundant freedom, Mobile Manipulator can move various mode, perform dexterous motion. It can have the wider workspace and better performance in avoidance of singularity and obstacle than the fixed base structured robot. Cooperation control using the Mobile Manipulator improves the performance of the robot with redundant freedom in workspace. In this paper, configuration control of the Mobile Manipulator has been studied using Task Segment and TOMM(Task-Oriented Manipulability Measure). For verifying the proposed algorithm, we implemented a mobile manipulator, PURL-II, which is composed of a mobile robot with 3DOF and a task robot with SDOF.
A Study on Braking and Driving Force Distribute Control for Active Traction Control System

A study on the vehicle stability is discussed. In the field of the studies the electronic control systems help overcoming the limit of improvement in vehicle performance with the methods above. Driving stability is mainly incorporated with the later motion of a vehicle generated by the driver's steering input. Recently VDC system has been studieed in order to improve the active stability. This VDC system uses the active braking force. This paper propose the ATC that uses driving force. This paper compared VDC with ATC through an experiment.
