Study About a New Propulsion System Using CRP( I ) (Flow interaction mechanism of a counter-rotating propeller)
Journal of the Korean Society of Safety , volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 3~8
The anemometer measurements were obtained from stationary hot-film probe mounted between the forward and rear rotors of a model CRP which rotated the forward and different directions. Data collection was done at several locations between rotors. To establish rotor-rotor interaction flow mechanism that contributes noise increasement of the CRP, methods of simple and the double condition-at sampling have been developed. The former uses to find similarity of the wake the later fixes the forward rotor position in time or space and permits averaging the mean wake at any fixed rotor angular location. The variation of the forward wake Is strongly depending upon the rear rotor location.
A Study on the Effective Cutting Conditions of Cage Motor Rotor Considering Production Rate ( I )
Journal of the Korean Society of Safety , volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 9~19
The recent development of NC lathe and machining renter have enabled automatic or unmanned manufacturing system for the improvement of production rate. And if you want to introduce automatic or unmanned manufacturing system into the cutting process of cage motor rotor, the selections of effective cutting conditions, rational tool grades and tool angles are necessary. As a result, the selection of cutting conditions, tool grades and tool angles are important factors to production rate.
A Study on the Electrostatic Characteristics of the Materials Treated by Antistatic Additives
Journal of the Korean Society of Safety , volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 20~27
There are many methods to move or reduce the static electricity which often causes disasters in Industry, etc. The methods may Include grounding of a potentially-charged body, use of antistatic materials, humidification of an atmosphere, use of static electricity eliminators. Among those methods, the one utilizing antistatic materials is widely used in the industrial fields due to its effectiveness and inexpectiveness. In Korea, safety regulations and technical standards are not sufficient for applying to industrial fields as electrostatic disaster prevention measures due to the shortage of practically verified and reliable data. The propose of this paper is to examine the electrostatic characteristics of the antistatic materials and non-antistatic ordinary materials under the various conditions of different temperature and humidity.
A Development of Fire Protective Coatings using Ternary(Li/Na/K) Soluble Silicate
Journal of the Korean Society of Safety , volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 28~34
To improve fire proofing characteristics of protective coating using ternary soluble silicate from two component mixture, the method of reducing solubility, increasing intumescence and protection time have been studied. Intumescence and solubility of ternary silicate mixtures were dependent on many kinds of water release and the strength of cation cross-links between polysilicate particles. Especially the effect of additive, for example, corn starch was investigated. However the solubility of ternary mixture is decrease in order of Na
, and the magnitute of intumescence is increased
Evaluation for Space Distribution of Dust Cloud in Hybrid Mixtures
Journal of the Korean Society of Safety , volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 35~40
This study dealed with problem to estimate the uniformity of dust clouds, as a fundamental study to estimate the ignition hazardous evaluation of hybrid mixtures. The developed method was proposed to grasp space distribution of dusts, and also, an experimental apparatus considering with dispersion and reproduction of dusts were uniquely devised and studied
Development of a Potable Skimmer with a Vacuum Cleaner
Journal of the Korean Society of Safety , volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 41~49
A potable oil skimmer is in need to remove spilt oils before they spread, which is applicable to various situations of oil viscosity, spill location, current, tides, waves and wind. An air suction skimmer was selected to be developed because of its advantages such as simple structure, excellent transportability, and easy deployment. A prototype operating by a commercial vacuum cleaner was fabricated. Tests of the skimmer showed good performance : the maximum suction rate of water and suction head were 18㎥/h and 2.7m, respectively.
A Study on the Safety Inspection of the T-Beam Bridges
Journal of the Korean Society of Safety , volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 50~55
In this thesis, the safety inspection of the T-beam bridges were studied. The stage of the safety inspection were classified according to the importance of the inspection contents the preliminary inspection, the resume inspection, the detail inspection, and the close inspection. By stages, the Inspection contents, the inspection items, and the inspection methods were systematized. And the method of the repair or the reinforcement for the demaged bridges were also suggested.
A Comparative Study on the Risk(Individual and Societal) Assessment for Surrounding Areas of Chemical Processes
Journal of the Korean Society of Safety , volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 56~63
Two methods of the numerical method of CPQRA(Chemical Process Quantitative Risk Analysis) and the manual method of IAEA(International Atomic Energy Agency) were used to estimate the individual risk and societal risk around the chemical plant. Where, the CPQRA is introduced to verify the theoritical background of the manual of international atomic energy agency. The Gaussian plume model which has a weather stability class D with velocity of 5m/s was applied to calculate dispersion of hazard material. Also, 8-point method was employed to the effects of accidents for wind distribution. Furthermore, historical record, FTA(Fault Tree Analysis) and ETA(Event Tree Analysis) were used to estimate the probability or frequency of accidents. Eventually, the individual risk shows isorisk contour and the societal risk shows F-N curve around hazard facility, especially in chemical plants. Caulculated results, which both individual and societal risk, by using IAEA manual show simillar results to those of calculation by numerical method of CPQRA.
A Numerical Optimization Study on the Ventilation Flows in a Workshop
Journal of the Korean Society of Safety , volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 64~73
A preliminary study is performed in order to design an effective ventilation equipment for the control of possible pollutants in a workshop. To this end, the Patankar's SIMPLE methodology is used to investigate the flow characteristics of the contaminated thermal deflected jet which is encounted often in practical hood system. SIMPLE-Consistent algorithm is employed for the pressure-velocity coupling appeared in momentum equations. A two equation, k-
model is used for Reynolds stresses. The prediction data is compared well against the experimental results by Chang(1989). Considering the control of the wake due to its high turbulence together with the stagnant feature has been investigated in term of major parameters such as temperature and magnitude of the discharge velocity. Detailed discussions are made to reduce the size of the wake region which give rise to pollutant concentration stratification.
