Deterioration of Polyethylene Films Induced by Partial Discharge and Variations Observed in Mechanical Properties

Deterioration induced by partial discharge was investigated for low-density polyethylene samples. Under an electrical field, a cold-drawn PE film was stretched perpendicularly to the direction of the original drawing. The starting voltage of the discharge shows a minimum at the draw ratio of 1.2 to 1.8. Around the same draw ratio, the elastic modulus and mechanical loss factor (tan S) of the sample exhibit a minimum and a maximum, respectively. According to the X-ray analysis, the size itf microcrystals decreases with increasing draw ratios. Reorientation of the ru01ecular chains was observed above a draw ratio of 1.5 by the IR method.
Separation of Chromium(VI) Ion in Industrial Waste Water throunh Liquid Surfactant Membrane

The transport of Chromium(Vl) ion from waste water throughl the liquid surfactant membrane containing tri-n-octylamine as a carrier, was analyzed by a slab model and was investigated through experiments. . It is concluded that the most stable formation of liquid membrane emulsion was obtained when surfactant concentration is above 3 wt. ％ and liquid parafnn oil concentration is 50 vol. ％. The transport of chromium(VI) ion in bacth extractor increased with increasing carrier concentration, the volume ratio of emulsion to external aqueous phases, and initial concentration of chromium(VI) ion under the optimum stirring speed of chromium(VI) ion below 2 ppm. The theoretical equation on the transport of chromium(Vl) ion agreed well with the experimental results.
Creep and Rupture Life of Al 7075 alloy under step-wise temperature cycling

Cyclic temperature creep tests were carried out an AS 7075 alloy specimens were subjected to a constant load and stepwise temperature cycles in which temperature was fluctuated between 30
with three different cycle ratios. The highest frequency of cycling was 1 cycle per 10 hr and the lowest one was 1 cycle per 12 hr. From the creep experimental results with the above conditions the creep strain under cyclic temperature can be predicted easily by introd ucing the equivalent steady temperature because defined by Eq.(16), but the rupture life is 1.1 time than those of constant temperature because of effect of temperature history at tertiary creep range. Besides thlis result, the results of the creep test under cyclic temperature conditions are respectively compayiea with calculated rupture lives using the life fraction law and Eq.(18). The agreement between the obseried rupture times and calculated ones is fairly good. So creep rupture lives can be respectively predicted using life fraction law and Eq.(18).
A Study on Vapour Explosion Caused by the Contact Between Molten Salt of Na

Molten salt-water explosion caused by the contact between molten salt and water is one of vapour explosions. An experimental study of the vapour explosion, which occurs when the molten mixture of Na
-NaOH and water come in contact was performed. The pressure wave generated in each composition Of molten mixtures was measured. The results obtained are as follows： 1) The vapour explosion didn't occur for a molten salt of 100%-Na

80％-NaOH 20% mixture, a small vapour explosion occured initially, and a large vapour explosion, which showed the largest pressure wave among the present experiments, occurred after an induced period. 3) For molten salt of Na
60％ - NaOH 40％ mixture and Na
40％ - NaOH 60％ mixture, the vapour explosion occurred near the water surface shortly after they come in contact with water. This explosion would be caused by fragmentation of the molten salts due to impulse generated when thee molten salts and water come in contact.
Vibration Anatysis on plates Stffened wlth Viscoelastic Beams

This paper treats the vibration analysis of a simply supported rectangular plate stiffened with viscoelastic beams. The effect of viscoelastic beams on the vibration of the plate is analyzed by using Dirac delta function and the equation of motion can be expressed only one equation. The frequency equation is obtained by applying Laplace transformation. The effect of volumes, numben and aspect ratios of beam on the frequency of the plate is analyzed.
A Study on Flow Characterstics of Gas Turbine rvpe Combustor (II) - Flow Characteristics in Combustor -

This paper deals with the experimental study on the flow characteristics in straight flow can type combustor which has been used for high pressure ratio gas turbine combustor. The author has investigated the effects of swirl number and secondary air hole arrays in axial position on the flow characteristics by adopting the tuft method and 5-Hole Pilot Tube. From these experiments, as the swirl number increases, the results obtained is that the area of recirculation zone becomes wide and the position of vortex-core region approaches to the near of fuel nozzle in the model combustor. The most favourable penetration is obtained when secondary air jet is introduced through the air holes distributed in the form of paralled two rows in axial position of model combustor.

An Experiment Study on the Safety and Bond Strength of Exterior Tile

This study improves the problematic point of the extenor tile setting, through making on experiment on the method of it and purposes doing to do the exterior tile setting of good quality as it selects out of the most conformable the method. The experimental materials choose the tile of 60
108mm size which are using frequently in the exterior tile setting and mortar is made from sand of Han river and potland cement, which apply the volume mixing of the ratio 1：3. The water cement ratio (W/C)is made up 62％ The methods of tile setting utilise the method of the tile setting and laying the method of the tile improved setting and laying, the method ol the pressing adhesion, the method of the improved pressing adhesion and the method of setting adherent (the method of VIBRATOR).
