Optimum Design of the CT Type Plate with Varing Thickness

Fail-safe design of machine elements or structural members is very aim of the whole mankind. Fracture occurs generally from cracks that exist originally or produced from flaws. The most important job we have to do is to make stopping or decreasing the crack growth rate. For fail-safe design variable thickness plates have been used as structural members in practical engineering services. In this paper, optimum design of CT type plate with varlng thickness is studied with the theoritical analysis. The theoritical analysis was based on the stress concentration and nominal stress analysis. From the study, the optimum design curve was determined for use of designing of such structures using the computer analysis program of optimum design.
Smouldering Combustibility of Cellulose Insulation Treated with Boric acid-Borax-Alum. Formulation

The smouldering combustibility of cellulose insulation treated with boric acid-borax-alum as combustion retardants are examined by cigarette ignition method and electrical cardrige heater method. The alum to be required at an add on level of at least 12% by weight of cellulose treated with boric acid-borax-alum=2 ： 1 ： 2 fomulatlon if resistance to smouldering combustion by cigarette ignition is to be achived. The optimum electrical ignition source employed by electrical cartidge heater method was 23.2 watts(80V) power level The effectiveness of Alum as a third combstion retardant are acceptable both smouldering resistance and flame resistance at 18% level of all examined formulation.
Flammability and Released Toxic Halogen Gases during Combustion of Flame-Retardant Flexible Polyurethane Foam

Flammability, and released toxic halogen gases during combustion about two kinds of flame-retardant flexible foam(F.R. flexible PV foam) were investigated. One of the above was F.R. flexible PU foam with the containment of halogen and the other was manufactured with pure flexible PU foam in aqueous solution of alumina trihydrate(ATH) and dried 4 hours at 10
. Flammability by L.O.I and UL94 HF-1 of the two materials were similarly shown. And combustion gases were analyzed with GC-Mass. HCI, CI
and HF were detected at both halogen being contained F.R. flexible PU foam and ATH dolng one The reason, to find halogen gases from burning ATH-containing F, R. flexible PU foam which wasn't used for any halogenated F.R., could be considered as by using trichlorofluoromethane with blowing agent to make PU foam. The relative quanity of relesed halogen gases of F.R. flexible PU foam with the containment of halogen had been indicated tree times HCI and CI
, two times HF than ATH containing, respectively.
Methodological Approach to Surveilance of Chemical Hazards in Worksite Environments

Prior to being prepared the surveilance method and the surveilance system of chemical hazards, the employer's investigastion of the newly-registered-chemical hazards has been to be under obligation along with legislation of the Hazardous Chemicals Control Act and revision of the Industrial Safety & Health Act in 1990. In order to make up the chemical hazards examining plan and to frame the chemical hazards investigating system about the newly-registered chemicals and the existing hazardous chemicals in worksite environments, the KISCO's chemical hazards surveilance program is methodologically researched and presented.
