Physics Education for the Learning-disabled by the Direct Instruction

The Direct Instruction (DI) was applied to the learning-disabled in the basic engineering education (especially, physics education). The DI is specified as an educational method in which the instructor strongly controls during the whole process of the entire course. The tests of understanding, reasoning, memory, and problem-solving speed showed that 20 students (20%) out of random 100 students are learning-disabled. The average points of mid-term and final exams were 53.7% and 61.0% respectively for a certain 41-students class. However, in this class, for the lower point students who obtained less than 50% points, the average points of mid-term and final exams were 29.8% and 28.2% respectively, which showed decreased. From this lower point group, the 8 students (20% students of 41 students) were selected as the learning-disabled. With additional DI studies provided, the average points of mid-term and final exams for the learning-disabled were 18.9% and 25.5% respectively, which showed 6.6% increase that means the DI for the learning-disabled was effective.
Developing an IT Course Utilizing Raspberry Pi

IT technologies are closely related to our daily life, and we are experiencing the emergence of new IT devices every day. The ongoing rapid progress of IT technology results in the increasing demand of experienced software & hardware engineers, and leads to the short life cycle of lab kits. However, the normally small to medium sized manufacturers of lab kits usually cannot even afford to support timely update and upgrade of their own kits. In this paper, we propose a way of effectively running an IT course by building a Raspberry Pi based kit. Raspberry Pi has features that allow us to not only timely update/upgrade the kit, but also expose students to various IT fields.
Development of Education Program for Physical Computing using Arduino N-screen Communication Boards

In this paper, we have selected physical computing as the focused learning elements with the PBL-based programming instruction method. Students experienced physical computing by using Arduino. Development of robot using Arduino can create an effective educational environment and also provide solutions for lack of environmental conditions, such as time or spatial factor restrictions and excessive expense issues; these are major obstacles to developing robot programming education. Finally, we analyzed the effects on growth of student`s logical thinking and problem solving abilities by demonstrating the Arduino application courseware to the field of education.
A Study on Learning Achievement Gap in the Secondary Curriculum in Accordance with the Teaching Methods of Materials Processing Section

In this paper, it was investigated academic achievement whether any differences in accordance with the teaching methods in the materials processing section in `technology and home economics` curricular. Target groups were compared to the eighth grade and ninth grade junior high school. Both eighth and ninth grade were selected for the first time learning the material processing section. The eighth grade was lessoned using the educational media, but the ninth grade was lessoned using writing. The results from the six questions, in one educational media utilization class got 71.1% correct answers, the other groups got 45.3% correct answers. The average percent correct differences between the two groups showed 25.8% points improvement in academic achievement.

In this academic paper, we introduce a bread board simulation which is developed based on HTML language. this program is developed because actual electronic practices have some problems. Electronic circuit practice using bread board is widely practiced in colleges or high schools in South Korea, but actual electronic circuit practice needs lots of consumable stuff, and they are needed to be purchased and managed continuously. Besides, composing complicated electronic circuit restricts the efficiency of studying. Therefore, we propose breadboard simulation program which helps to resolve those problems.
Numerical Analysis for Machining Center Milling Education of Deformation by Vise Stress to Minimize

ABS material is easy to process, impact resistance and heat resistance is strong. ABS material is often used as a substitute for the interior and exterior metal material for an automobile. As the demand of ABS increases, fabricating education using ABS has also been increasing its importance. As part of its education, ABS material is used in the mold fabricating part of the regional and national skills competition. At this time, the force of the vise for fixing the ABS material in the processing using the ABS material can affect the final shape after machining. However, it has not been an accurate description of the notes and instructions of working in education. Therefore, in this study, we study the impact the force of vise affect structural shape in the fabricating education using ABS material and during fabricating education of ABS material, trying to present the notes of the appropriate it.
Study on Development of Educational Training Program and Job Analysis for Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance Technician Train

The purpose of this study is to develop semiconductor equipment maintenance technician train program for the effective train of professional maintenance technician in the semiconductor industry. To achieve the purpose, both of the actual condition survey and the literature investigation had been proceeded for the prediction of educational train manpower requirements in the field of semiconductor equipment maintenance in and outside the country. In addition, tasks and education contents were also analyzed through job analysis. Based on the result, we suggest that the education program for semiconductor equipment maintenance technician train.
Impacts of Leadership Empowerment of Multinational Enterprise on English Education on Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment

This study aimed for testing the effects of the empowerment in the circumstances of remote management that managers and employees were in separate countries. For this purpose, researchers collected survey data from 79 local teachers in multinational enterprises on English education and performed Structural Equation Modeling. The hypotheses below are revealed as significant. Firstly, empowerment had a positive effect on job satisfaction, but had a negative effect on job stress. Secondly, empowerment had a positive effect on organizational commitment. Thirdly, job satisfaction had a positive effect on organizational commitment. Fourthly, job stress had a negative effect on organizational commitment and job satisfaction mediated the relationship between empowerment and organizational commitment. Finally, job stress mediated the relationship between empowerment and organizational commitment. And the results of this study suggest that the employees` job satisfaction and organizational commitment can be enhanced using empowerment in the remote management system.
Training Needs Analysis for Skill Assessor`s Competency of Vocational Education Teachers in Korea

The purpose of this research is to analyze training needs for skill assessor`s competency of vocational education teachers in Korea. This research was conducted based on Russ-Eft`s competency model for skill assessor. Data were gathered from 234 vocational education teachers over the country, and final respondents were 158 males and 73 females. As a result of analysis, reliability for expert (needs score 2.51), establishment for assessment management plan (needs score 2.11), management plan (needs score 2.08), and effective collaboration (needs score 2.07) have high developmental needs. On the other hand, recognition of a variety intention (needs score 1.01), observation of ethical standard (needs score 1.24), and personal relationship (needs score 1.76) have low developmental needs.
Analysis of Outplacement Counselor`s Competency

The present study analyzes the capability that counselors providing outplacement consulting need to equip themselves with and reflects the tendency of the increasing interests in a change of job in various fields of work. Since few studies on the aspects and organization of a change of job have been conducted, the present study aims at investigating professional capability that counselors specialized in outplacement need to have and hope to support clients in the real counseling situations. A total of three surveys were conducted based on a Delphi-analytic approach. As a result, the present study draws 3 types, 13 aspects, and 55 indexes of the capability in terms of the real conditions of outplacement consulting and various demands for job seekers. Based on the criteria mentioned above, the study discusses the present conditions of outplacement and the future prospects.
