Korean Journal of Human Ecology, volume 12, issue 2, 2003, Pages 183~199
The purposes of this research were to analyse the female college students' appraisals and demands about actual conditions of job-seeking and to propose the developmental alternatives from the perspectives of gender equality. The data were obtained through 510 female students living in Gwangju. The major findings were as follows: 1) Women's needs of job-seeking were very intensive but their preparation level was relatively low. Colleges' support system and organization utility were uneffective because their programs were not specified for women. Women generally recognized that social improvement for gender equality in employment system were very important and more practical methods and contents were demanded in education for job-seeking. 2) Women's grade and major were significant variables in the differences of job preparation, consciousness of job-seeking, social support and appraisals. Therefore, college supporting systems must consider students' characteristics. 3) The job-seeking mechanisms must be changed to more effective systems for the achievement of gender equality. Also community members, colleges and students should make collaborate endeavors for the women empowerment.

Jeong, Su-Kyung ; Hong, Kyung-Hi ;
Korean Journal of Human Ecology, volume 12, issue 2, 2003, Pages 253~263
The purposes of this study were to find out an evaluation scale that could predict wear comfort and to investigate the effect of the skin-contacting fiber type on the subjective sensation and microclimate. Sensorial evaluation was basically followed by the Human Perception Analysis (HPA) interviewing 144 consumers. Sixteen female subjects were participated in the sleeve wear test with and without wearing vapor permeable water repellent outerwear. Experimental sleeves were constructed using the same double knit by turning inside out to control other material effects except the skin-contacting fiber type, hence each different side of double knit, cotton side and the cotton/polypropylene blend side, was next to skin in each trial of the experiment. As results, it was noted that the term representing a combined feeling of thermal and wetness sensation, and muggy appeared to be a powerful language to measure perceptual responses of human subject among five dimensions of evaluation. although the ordinary users did not use the term very often. As for the comfort properties of double knits, it seemed that subjects slightly more preferred polypropylene/cotton blend to cotton as the skin-contacting fiber type when they wore outerwear and their skin were covered with sweat, although the result was rot statistically significant and need to be confirmed under higher work load.

This yogurt was fermented with Bifidobacterium, L. acidophilus, and S. thermophilus and supplemented with oligosaccharides, dietary fiber, and yeast and mushroom extracts. 44 female students with constipation were sampled as subjects and fed 150ml fermented milk per day for 2 weeks period. After each defecation, the subjects were examined for the status of stool evacuation by questionnaires. The frequency of stool evacuation, fecal amount, time spending for evacuation, fecal color and shape, and refreshing feeling after evacuation were remarkably improved after ingestion of fermented milk for 2 weeks. These effects were greater in the heavy constipation group than in the mild group. The fecal odor did rot decrease significantly after 2 weeks of intake of fermented milk, but the odor thended to decrease after the intake of fermented milk These results indicated that the ingestion of concentrated fermented milk is effective to improve the constipation.
