A study of french "Ecole des Parents" for perspective model in korean parent education
Jeong, Mi-Ree ;
Korean Journal of Human Ecology, volume 3, issue 1, 1994, Pages 1~14
This study is carried out to develope parent education methodology by analysing "
des Parents" of France. To study this subject we approach by following three methodes. Firstly, we examined bibliographes to find out motivation of initiative caused from hystological and sociological circumstance. Secondly, to analyse chronological developement and modification of "
des Parents" we interviewed with three periods of persons : founder, developer and actually working animators. In addition, we riviewed three hundred eighty volumes of
, from first jurnals to october, 1993. Thirdly, this study were approached by participant observation in actual activities, and by analyse statstical records and subject of articals. In results, we noticed following caractors working in french parent education system. All the regional "
des Parents" are alined with "
des Parents et des
"(F.N.E.PE.) in educational polish but activities and methodes of education are independant with F.N.E.P.E., and in most different regional "
des Parents" focussed the educational programes to the middle class families in economic point of view. these programes adjust very rapidly systematicaly to social requirment due to successed intensive research. Mordern programs tend to contain all members of family in stead of targeting only maternal members. Methodes of education by lectures and speechs only to deliver information also replaced by discussion, forum and groop animation to induce self-correction. We propose that the systems of FNEPE can be ideal models to solve many actual problems facing in Korean parent education systemes.
A Critique of Professional Missions About Child and Family: Educators, researchers, practitioners
Kim, Yeong-Hee ;
Korean Journal of Human Ecology, volume 3, issue 1, 1994, Pages 15~21
In this critique, the mission of child/family professionals is reidentified as educators, researchers, and practitionars. In order to more effectively assist child and family in coping with a changing society, educators need to give serious attention to such issues as self-formation for the individuals and human relations for the families. The missons of researchers are shifted from quantitative to both qualitative and quantitative emphases. The micro - and macro - intervention are seen as primary two roles for the practitioners. Implications of these missions are discussed in terms of specific suggetions for the future direction. Consequently, challenges and opportunities abound for child/family professionals.
A Study of Determinants of Husbands' Housework Time
Lee, Seung-Mie ;
Korean Journal of Human Ecology, volume 3, issue 1, 1994, Pages 23~31
This study investigated the factors influencing married men's time allocation in housework. A multidimentional theoritical approach employing the perspectives of time availability, relative resourse, sex-role ideology was employed to explain variations in husbands' participation in housework. In addition, the effects of several socio-demographic variables were investigated. Data for 226 cases were gathered from using structured qustionnaire and time diary. Results indicated that the sex-role ideology perspective was significantly supported, and the time availability perspective was partially supported. On the other hand, no significant evidence was found for the effect of relative resourse on husbands' housework. The age of husbands in socio-demographic variables had a significant effect on the amount of husbands' housework time.

Kim, Jung-Suk ; Kim, Young-Nam ;
Korean Journal of Human Ecology, volume 3, issue 1, 1994, Pages 51~58
The rapid development of science and technology has brought about a quantitative expansion and a decrease of practical life span of information. Food science, a kind of life science and practical science, can not be an exception. Analysis of food components is the fundamental basis of the Food Science. So I would like this to be of some help to the following researches through the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the contents of the food analysis research papers in food science related Korean journals. Five hundred seventy four research papers published from 1984 to 1993 in the three journals, that is, Korean Journal of Food Science & Technology. The Korean Journal of Nutrition, The Korean Journal of Home Economics, which is three major journals read by people in Home Economics area are analyzed in this study. The method applied in this study is content analysis. Followings are the results of the content analysis : 1) When categorize the material foods into food groups, cereal group is analyzed most often(15.8%), followed by fish and shellfish group(12.4%), oil and fat group(11.8%). The least often analyzed food group is egg group. Among the food soybean is most often analyzed(6.0%), followed by polished rice(3.7%), glutinous rice(2.2%), cabbage(2.1%) and human milk(1.8%). 2) About the analyzed food components, the general components such as moisture, crude protein, crude fat, carbohydrate and ash has been analyzed very often but the trace nutrients such as vitamins and minerals has scarcely been analyzed. 3) The method used in the food components analysis is usually AOAC(Association of Official Analytical Chemist, USA). HPLC was applied to the analysis of many food components like amino acids, fatty acids, vitamin A, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin C and vitamin E.
A Study on the Food Labelling System
Choi, Young-Lan ; Kim, Hyang-Sook ;
Korean Journal of Human Ecology, volume 3, issue 1, 1994, Pages 59~69
The purpose of this study was to examine the food labelling system and its regulations based on Food Hygine Law in Korea and to compare them with those of USA and JAPAN. This study was carried out to suggest desirable direction for improvement of food labelling system in Korea by reviewing literatures and regulations related to the subject of this study. The results are as follows: 1. The indication of shelf-life in Korean lavelling system appeared ineffective from the point of view of consumer protection and resource preservation compared with dual system of indicating shelf-life in USA and Japan. 2. The standard of labelling general food in Korea does not give sufficient nutritive information to the consumers, compared with that in USA and Japan. 3. Only five ingredients including additives are to be listed on the food label in Korea whereas all the ingredients and additives are in the USA and Japan. 4. The way of Listing food additives on food label is neither specifically required nor standardized in Korea and, food additives are classified into only 7 groups in Korea while 18 in the USA. Based on the above results of literature review, the followings are suggested to improve food labelling system in Korea. 1. Indication of shelf-life should have dual system, in which perishable food should not be permitted to be sold after its shelf-life while the processed food or dried food to be preserved for a long time should be indicated with more or less flexible term about shelf-life. 2. Standard of labelling general food should include calorie, fat, protein, and the content of major vitamins and minerals. 3. All ingredients and their contents, including food additives should be listed on the food labels. 4. The standard of indication of food additives in Korea should include the name, usage and content of all additives used in foods.
