Characteristics of a PMOSFET Photodetector for Highly-Sensitive Active Pixel Sensor

A PMOSFET photodetector for highly-sensitive active pixel sensor(APS) is presented. This sensor uses 5V power supply and has been designed and fabricated using I-poly and 2-metal
CMOS technology. The feature of a PMOSFET photodetector is that the polysilicon gate of the PMOSFET was connected to n-well, in order to increase the photo sensitivity. The designed MOS photodetector has similar
characteristics with a standard MOSFET. One dimensional image sensor with 16 pixels based on the PMOSFET photodetector has also been designed and fabricated. Unit pixel of the designed sensor consists of a PMOSFET photodetector and 4 NMOSFETs. Unit pixel area is
and its fill factor is about 12%.
Fabrication of Microstructures for Conductive Polymer Actuators Using MEMS Process

Polypyrrole microactuators have been fabricated by the standard surface micromachining method combined with the electropolymerization of polypyrrole. The fundamental structure to verify the feasibility of the fabrication process is polypyrrole cantilever. Based on these process, polypyrrole grippers and valves for the manipulation of the cell have been fabricated. Grippers have the structure of bone and muscle which are rigid polymers and polypyrrole, respectively. Valves have the assembled structure of channels with polypyrrole cantilevers. The proposed fabrication process and structures are expected to be used for bio-related applications, for example, the cell manipulation.

Recently, as the road capacity reaches the limit and environmental problems becomes serious, there is gradually increased a need for railroad vehicles that are environment-friendly and have time regularity, reliability and safety. Accordingly, in addition to conventional railroad vehicles, lots of vehicles are being newly developed. We developed the hardware and software of the measurement system for on-line test and evaluation of korean high speed train. The software controls the hardware of the mesurement data and acts as interface between users and the system hardware. In this paper, we is studied for electric apparatus performance of railway vehicle using sensor. In order to this test is developed signal conversion system. Using this system, we obtained important result for pantograph voltage, battery voltage, axle speed, and inverter current.
A study on performance measurement system of traction equipment

The korean high speed train(350km/h), composed of 7cars that are 2 power cars, 2 motorized car and 3 trailer cars, has been developed and is under on-line test. To verify the design requirements about the functions and traction performances of this train, KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute) decided to evaluate traction performances of the train during on-line test. For this purpose, such as torque, velocity, voltage and current, must be measured. KRRI has developed the measurement system that can be measured vast and various signals effectively. In this paper, we introduce traction performances of korean high speed train. The traction measurement items are focused on the verification of motor block performances. Motor block are consist of 2 motor. For this test, we verified traction performances of korean high speed train.
Implementation of Externally Controllable Miniaturized Capsule for the Stimulation of Intestine

In this paper, a swallowable miniaturized capsule, which applicable for electrical stimulation of digestive organ to improve the motion of intestine in research purpose, is proposed and implemented. The developed capsule can be controlled for the behavior of the power on/off, amplitude and pulse rate for the patient stimulus, by internally equipped with miniaturized RF receiver that linked by the command of external transmitter. The experimental result of the implemented miniaturized capsule in the animal intestine show the ability of effective control for the stimulus parameters.
Implementation of A Dielectric-Resonator Oscillator for the Microwave Radar Sensor Applications

Recently, sensors which use the infrared light, supersonic waves, and electromagnetic waves have been used for many applications to detect information of the object. For these sensors, the accompanying system which utilizes the sensor should be systematically developed. In this paper, a general microwave radar sensor system is briefly described, and then basic applications of a CW doppler radar sensor system are introduced. For the CW doppler radar sensor applications, a highly-stable, low-cost Dielectric Resonator Oscillator (DRO) has also been designed and implemented, which can be used for commercial microwave sensor systems. The implemented DRO has output power of +5.33 dBm at 12.67 GHz and phase noise of -108.5 dBc/Hz at the 100 kHz offset frequency.
Design of A Clock-and-Data Recovery Circuit for Detection and Reconstruction of Broadband Multi-rate Optical Signals

Due to explosive increase of internet usage, broadband data transmission using optical fibers is broadly used. In order to decrease distortion during long distance transmission, the optical signal need to be restored, typically, by converting the optical signal into the electrical signal. The optical signal is converted into the electrical signal using a photo-diode, and then a clock-and-recovery (CDR) circuit is used to recover the clock and retime the data. In this study, a clock-and-data recovery circuit has been designed using a standard 1.8 V
CMOS process. With this CDR circuit, the improved phase detector and charge pump have been utilized. Also, by using a ring oscillator, the CDR circuit can recover clock and data from broadband multi-rate data ranging between 750 Mb/s and 2.85 Gb/s.
