A Dynamics Model of Rotor Blades for Real-time Simulation of Helicopters

Physically-based researches on simulating helicopter motions have been achieved in the field of aeronautics, aerodynamics and others. These results, however, have not been appled in the computer graphics area, mainly due to their complex equations and heavy computations. In this paper, we propose a dynamics model of helicopter rotor blades, which would be easy to implement, and suitable for real-time simulations of helicopters in the computer graphics area. Helicopters fly by the forces due to the collisions between air and rotor blades. These forces can be interpreted as the impulsive forces between the fluid and the rigid body. Based on these impulsive forces, we propose an approximated dynamics model of rotor blades, and it enables us to simulate the helicopter motions using existing rigid body simulation methods. We compute forces due to the movement of rotor blades according to the Newton`s method, to achieve its real-time computations. Our prototype implementation shows real-time aerial navigation of helicopters, which are murk similar to the realistic motions.
Analysis of Topological Properties for Folded Hyper-Star FHS(2n,n)

In this paper, we analyze some topological properties of Folded Hyper-Star FHS(2n,n). First, we prove that FHS(2n,n) has maximal fault tolerance, and broadcasting time using double rooted spanning tree is 2n-1. Also we show that FHS(2n,n) can be embedded into Folded hypercube with dilation 1, and Folded hypercube can be embedded into FHS(2n,n) ith dilation 2 and congestion 1.
Hashing Method with Dynamic Server Information for Load Balancing on a Scalable Cluster of Cache Servers

Caching in a cache sorrel cluster environment has an advantage that minimizes the request and response tine of internet traffic and web user. Then, one of the methods that increases the hit ratio of cache is using the hash function with cooperative caching. It is keeping a fixed size of the total cache memory regardless of the number of cache servers. On the contrary, if there is no cooperative caching, the total size of cache memory increases proportional to the number of cache sowers since each cache server should keep all the cache data. The disadvantage of hashing method is that clients` requests stress a few servers in all the cache servers due to the characteristics of hashing md the overall performance of a cache server cluster depends on a few servers. Service Rendering Study for Adaptive Service of 3D Graphics Contents in Middleware

The need of contents adaptation in ubiquitous environments is growing to support multiple target platforms for 3D graphics contents. Since 3D graphics deal with a large data set md a high performance, a service adaptation for context changing is required to manipulate graphics contents with a more complicated method in multiple devices such as desktops, laptops, PDAs, mobile phones, etc. In this paper, we suggest a new notion of service adaptation middleware based on service rendering algorithm, which provides a flexible and customized service for user-centric 3D graphics contents. The service adaptation middleware consists of Service Adaptation(SA) for analyzing environments and Service Rendering(SR) for reconfiguring customized services by processing customized data. These adaptation services are able to intelligently and dynamically support the same computer graphics contents with good quality, when user environments are changed.
Software Framework of Reconfigurable Data-oriented and Bi-directional Universal Remote Controller

Most of existing integrated remote controllers can control only a group of home appliances made by the same manufacturer. And they cannot monitor the status of home appliances since they are based on analog RF(Radio Frequency) signal and operate in a uni-directional manner In this paper, we propose a software framework for a hi-directional universal remote controller(URC) which monitors the status of home appliances in Wireless Personal Area Network(WPAN). The URC can handle the control and status messages which consist of a command with related arguments. When a user wants to control any home appliance, the URC can be dynamically configured to its dedicated remote controller by generating a GUI according to its profile. Any other devices which have a capacity for understanding the profile from the controlled devices can play the same role of the URC.
IP Over USB for Improved QoS of UDP/IP Messages

The Linux-based embedded systems such as mobile telephones. PDAs and MP3 players are widely in use. USB(Universal Serial Bus) is the interface for data communication between the computers and these peripheral devices. Some embedded systems like intelligent home networking and multimedia streaming require guaranteed QoS(Quality of Service), which is needed for real time transmission of UDP/IP messages through USB. Although USB Ethernet driver is supported by USB Gadget API in Linux, it is unable to provide the desirable QoS required by each type or small embedded systems due to the unpredictability or TCP/IP Stack in Linux. This paper proposes IP-Over-USB to improve QoS of UDP/IP message transmission in the embedded systems using USB in Linux system.
High Performance Coprocessor Architecture for Real-Time Dense Disparity Map

This paper proposes high performance coprocessor architecture for real time dense disparity computation based on a phase-based binocular stereo matching technique called local weighted phase-correlation(LWPC). The algorithm combines the robustness of wavelet based phase difference methods and the basic control strategy of phase correlation methods, which consists of 4 stages. For parallel and efficient hardware implementation, the proposed architecture employs SIMD(Single Instruction Multiple Data Stream) architecture for each functional stage and all stages work on pipelined mode. Such that the newly devised pipelined linear array processor is optimized for the case of row-column image processing eliminating the need for transposed memory while preserving generality and high throughput. The proposed architecture is implemented with Xilinx HDL tool and the required hardware resources are calculated in terms of look up tables, flip flops, slices, and the amount of memory. The result shows the possibility that the proposed architecture can be integrated into one chip while maintaining the processing speed at video rate.
Development of LBS Terminal Standard Platform based on WIPI

This paper describes the LBS Terminal Standard Platform based on WIPI. The LBS Terminal Standard Platform based on WIPI is API for obtaining the location information in the mobile standard platform providing the environment which is mounted on the mobile communications terminal and can platform an application. The mobile Platform consists of HAL API, C API and Java API that it is able to process Location Information data among wireless network. It is defined and developed at the HAL sections and C sections based on Generic I/O, and It describes in details in this paper. This standard Platform is expected to be utilized as the base specification in developing the LBS Terminal development technology and standard method to LBS application developers.
A Proposal of Heuristic Using Zigzag Steiner Point Locating Strategy for GOSST Problem

We propose more enhanced heuristic for the GOSST(Grade of Services Steiner Minimum Tree) problem in this paper. GOSST problem is a variation of Steiner Tree problem and to find a network topology satisfying the G-Condition with minimum network construction cost. GOSST problem is known as one of NP-Hard or NP-Complete problems. In previous our research, we proposed a heuristic employing Direct Steiner Point Locating strategy with Distance Preferring MST building strategy. In this paper, we propose new Steiner point locating strategy, Zigzag Steiner point Locating strategy. Through the results of out experiments, we can assert this strategy is better than our previous works. The Distance Zigzag GOSST method which hires the Distance Preferring MST building strategy and Zigzag Steiner point Locating strategy defrays the least network construction cost and brings 31.5% cost saving by comparison to G-MST, the experimental control and 2.2% enhancement by comparison to the Distance Direct GOSST method, the best GOSST method in our previous research.
