Signature-based Indexing Scheme for Similar Sub-Trajectory Retrieval of Moving Objects

Recently, there have been researches on storage and retrieval technique of moving objects, which are highly concerned by user in database application area such as video databases, spatio-temporal databases, and mobile databases. In this paper, we propose a new signature-based indexing scheme which supports similar sub-trajectory retrieval at well as good retrieval performance on moving objects trajectories. Our signature-based indexing scheme is classified into concatenated signature-based indexing scheme for similar sub-trajectory retrieval, entitled CISR scheme and superimposed signature-based indexing scheme for similar sub-trajectory retrieval, entitled SISR scheme according to generation method of trajectory signature based on trajectory data of moving object. Our indexing scheme can improve retrieval performance by reducing a large number of disk access on data file because it first scans all signatures and does filtering before accessing the data file. In addition, we can encourage retrieval efficiency by appling k-warping algorithm to measure the similarity between query trajectory and data trajectory. Final]y, we evaluate the performance on sequential scan method(SeqScan), CISR scheme, and SISR scheme in terms of data insertion time, retrieval time, and storage overhead. We show from our experimental results that both CISR scheme and SISR scheme are better than sequential scan in terms of retrieval performance and SISR scheme is especially superior to the CISR scheme.
Update Protocol for Distributed Spatial Objects with Spatial Relationships based on OGIS OLE DB

For supporting Interoperability among heterogeneous data sources in different geographic information systems, it is required to use open API like OGIS OLE DB Proposed in OGC. The OLE/COM Implementation Specification of OGIS only provides interfaces to discover and access spatial data, but does not support interfaces for updating distributed spatial data. To solve this problem, we propose and add interfaces for updating spatial objects distributed over heterogeneous data sources and examining the consistency of spatial relationships between updated objects. We also devise a 2-phase commit protocol based on spatial relationships in order to guarantee the consistency of updated objects. To justify the update scheme using the proposed Interfaces and 2-phase commit prototype we design and implement a prototype system for updating distributed spatial objects.
Efficient Searching Technique for Nearest Neighbor Object in High-Dimensional Data

The Pyramid-Technique is based on mapping n-dimensional space data into one-dimensional data and expresses it as a B+-tree. By solving the problem of search time complexity the pyramid technique also prevents the effect of "phenomenon of dimensional curse" which is caused by treatment of hypercube range query in n-dimensional data space. The SPY-TEC applies the space division strategy in pyramid method and uses spherical range query suitable for similarity search so that Improves the search performance. However, nearest neighbor query is more efficient than range query because it is difficult to specify range in similarity search. Previously proposed index methods perform well only in the specific distribution of data. In this paper, we propose an efficient searching technique for nearest neighbor object using PdR-Tree suggested to improve the search performance for high dimensional data such as multimedia data. Test results, which uses simulation data with various distribution as well as real data, demonstrate that PdR-Tree surpasses both the Pyramid-Technique and SPY-TEC in views of search performance.rformance.
Selectivity Estimation Using Compressed Spatial Histogram

Selectivity estimation for spatial query is very important process used in finding the most efficient execution plan. Many works have been performed to estimate accurate selectivity. Although they deal with some problems such as false-count, multi-count, they can not get such effects in little memory space. Therefore, we propose a new technique called MW Histogram which is able to compress summary data and get reasonable results and has a flexible structure to react dynamic update. Our method is based on two techniques : (a) MinSkew partitioning algorithm which deal with skewed spatial datasets efficiently (b) Wavelet transformation which compression effect is proven. The experimental results showed that the MW Histogram which the buckets and wavelet coefficients ratio is 0.3 is lower relative error than MinSkew Histogram about 5%-20% queries, demonstrates that MW histogram gets a good selectivity in little memory.
Implementation of XML Query Processing System Using the Materialized View Cache-Answerability

Recently, caching for the database-backed web applications has received much attention. The results of frequent queries could be cached for repeated reuse or for efficient processing of the relevant queries. Since the emergence of XML as a standard for data exchange on the web, today`s web applications are to retrieve information from the remote XML sources across the network, and thus it is desirable to maintain the XML query results in the cache for the web applications. In this paper, we describe implementation of an XML query processing system that supports cache-answerability of XML queries, and evaluate its performance. XML path expression, which is one of the core features of XML query languages including XQuery, XPath, and XQL was considered as the XML query. Their result is maintained as an XML materialized view in the XML cache. The algorithms to rewrite the given XML path expression using its relevant materialized view proposed in  were implemented with RDBMS as XML store. The major issues of implementation are described in detail. The results of performance experiments conducted with the implemented system showed effectiveness of cache-answerability of XML queries. Comparison with previous research in terms of performance is also Provided.
Storage Techniques Using an Object-Relational Database for XML Documents

XML is becoming the de facto standard for data exchange over the Internet as a semistructured data which properties are irregular and incomplete. Therefore, to handle these data efficiently. what we use storage devices and storage techniques are Primary factors. In this paper, we developed storage techniques, which take the virtues of an object-relational database and support various query types needed for XML query languages without regard to the DTD. The techniques are capable with connecting naturally with conventional data and reducing overheads caused by the characteristics of an XML data model.
An Extensible Index for XML Containment Queries

Containment queries for XML documents is one of the most important query types, and thus the efficient support for this type of query is crucial for XML databases. Recently, object-relational database management system (ORDBMS) vendors try to store and retrieve XML data in their products. In this paper, we propose an extensible index to support containment queries over the XML data stored as BLOB type in ORDBMSs. That is, we describe how to implement the index using the extensibility feature of an ORDBMS, and describe its usage.
A Genetic Algorithm for Materialized View Selection in Data Warehouses

A data warehouse stores information that is collected from multiple, heterogeneous information sources for the purpose of complex querying and analysis. Information in the warehouse is typically stored In the form of materialized views, which represent pre-computed portions of frequently asked queries. One of the most important tasks of designing a warehouse is the selection of materialized views to be maintained in the warehouse. The goal is to select a set of views so that the total query response time over all queries can be minimized while a limited amount of time for maintaining the views is given(maintenance-cost view selection problem). In this paper, we propose an efficient solution to the maintenance-cost view selection problem using a genetic algorithm for computing a near-optimal set of views. Specifically, we explore the maintenance-cost view selection problem in the context of OR view graphs. We show that our approach represents a dramatic improvement in terms of time complexity over existing search-based approaches that use heuristics. Our analysis shows that the algorithm consistently yields a solution that only has an additional 10% of query cost of over the optimal query cost while at the same time exhibits an impressive performance of only a linear increase in execution time. We have implemented a prototype version of our algorithm that is used to evaluate our approach.

A broadcast method in mobile computing environments which have very large client populations solves the problem of low bandwidth. But most of previous proposed concurrency control protocols are restricted to read-only transactions from mobile client. In this paper, we propose the UTSM-ARM method which uses caching and broadcast method, and allows update transactions in mobile client. The UTSM-ARM decides the validation of cache data consistency with the dynamic update pattern ratio of accessed cached data. Also, the timestamps of accessed cached data and transaction in mobile client guarantee the serializable execution of mobile transactions. As a result, UTSM-ARM makes efficiently use of the asymmetric bandwidth of broadcast environment and can Increase the transaction throughput
Design of Parallel Migration Method of Mobile Agents Using an Object Replication

Most mobile agents are migrated to many mobile agent systems by the sequential node migration method. However. in this case, if some problems such as host`s fault or obstacle etc. happened, mobile agent falls infinity walt or orphan states. Therefore, it is difficult to get an expectation effect as use of other distribution technologies because the required time for networking between nodes increases. And so, many researches have been performed to solve this problems. However, most of methods decide node migration based on passive routing table or detour hosts which have some problems. Actually, the researches for reducing the total required time for networking are insufficient yet. In this paper, to reduce the required time for networking of mobile agent we design an active routing table based on the information of implemented objects which are registered in the meta-table of naming agent. And also, for user`s keyword, we propose an replication model that replicates many agent object according to the information and number of object references corresponding to meta-table. Replicated objects are migrated to mobile agent systems in parallel and it provides minimized required time for networking.
Design and Implementation of Generation System for Storing Core Components

ebXML(Electronic Business using extensible Markup Language) is an XML based new international standard framework of the electronic business. Interoperability among mutually different industry fields can be realized by reusing core component, as a infrastructure of data. For this interoperability, it is needed to define the concrete concept of core component, through analyzing the role and applicability of the core component in business process which defines the interoperability among different companies. Therefore, in this paper, we Inquire the role of the core component in the ebXML, and implement the core component storage system which generates core component to register in registry/repository. The designed system for storing the core component generates suitable core component structure to register in registry/repositor), which can be used to generate new business information entity in a modeling step of business process.
Automatic Generator for Component-Based Web Database Applications

E-commerce is in wide use with the rapid advance of internet technology. The main component of an e-commerce application is a Web-based database application. Currently, it takes a lot of time in developing Web applications since developers should write codes manually or semi-automatically for user interface forms and query processing of an application. Therefore, the productivity increase of Web-based database applications has been demanded. In this paper, we introduce a software tool, which we call the WebSiteGen2, that automatically generates the forms that we used as user interfaces and the EJB/JSP components that process the query made through the forms for an application that needs a new database or uses an existing database. The WebSiteGen2 thus increases the productivity, reusability, expandibility, and portability of an application by automatically generating a 3-tier application based on component technology. Moreover, one user interface form that are generated by the WebSiteGen2 provides information on an interested entity as well as information on all the directly or indirectly related entities with the interested one. In this paper, we explain the functionality and implementation of the WebSiteGen2 and then show the merits by comparing the WebSiteGen2 to the other commercial Web application generators.
A Study on Optimal Web Site Selection and Quality Evaluation Using AHP

Because of rapid increase of internet user, numerous popular web sites have been made on the internet but it is hard to find out a systematic technique for the selection of qualified web site in consumer position. Generally, there are black box, white box and gray box viewpoint for evaluating web site. In this paper present evaluation criteria based on AHP(Analysis Hierarchy Process) technique of black box viewpoint for optimal web site selection in consumer position. We considered usability, efficiency, compatibility based on ISO/IEC 9126 for quality measurement of web site and executed practical analysis about web site in internet. This paper show that the proposed selection technique is applicable to optimal web site selection.

Qualify of software development project is very important in complex and large domestic software market. Software development companies are eager to Bet some quality certification such as CMM certification. However, reliability and effectiveness of CMM certification tomes into question. This study explores the relationships between software project Quality (and some organizational performance) and organization`s CMM certification. The result shows no strong relationships between project quality and CMM certification. This may imply that an incremental improvement of project process plays a more important role than certification process itself.

Development of Ministry of National Defense Architecture Framework(MND AF)

The US DoD architecture framework defines architecture Products according to three viewpoints : operational view, system view, and technical view. But, its coarse-grained development process causes leakage of the details In transforming among different views. It also uses different methods for architecture products development, so that the levels of those products are not consistent. So. we propose MND AF(Ministry of National Defense Architecture Framework) for military environment to solve those problems. We propose additional architecture products to achieve consistency, including “architecture disciplines definition description,”“organization-to-activity relationships matrix,” “system definition description,” and “technical reference model,” etc. We also propose the architecture development process in more detail through seven steps. In addition, we propose the applicability of those products to the life cycle processes of the acquisition management. MND AF can provide consistency and traceability of architecture products, provide the basis for sl·stem integration and interoperability. Also, architecture developers can construct architecture in a more effective and efficient way through MND AF.
Integrate Processing Scheme of Flow Control Language

Automation systems improve the productivity of works which relate to product design, facilities management, fault processing and quality evaluation. In these systems, the description language for monitoring and control process is called new control language. These are five flow control languages : IL, ST, FBD, SFC and LD. IL and ST are based on left form. FBD, SFC and LD are based on graphic form. Generally, a software which monitors and controls a system is allowed to use just one flow control language. It is impossible to use more than two languages for simulation in the same system environment. In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of flow control languages and the process of programming in the legacy system. In addition, for the Integrated processing of languages, we propose Extended ST based on the high-level ST language. Based on this research, we implement a graphical language editor and EST-IL convertor. The graphical language editor makes sequence rules, and converts graphical language into EST. EST-IL convertor has a function to convert EST into IL which is similar to assembly language. As the result of this paper, we present a scheme which integrates all the flow control language processing based on IL.
System for Anti-Piracy of Software under Windows Operating System

This paper presents the software system that protects illegal installation and use of the commercial software. The server computer in this system stores the compressed versions for all software, while client computers install all software by downloading them from the server. Also the client computers periodically report to the server whether they have illegally installed software. This system introduces authentication and encryption/decryption using the session key under Windows Operating System to prevent interception of the software package from outside world and malicious modification of the transfer message between the server and the client. The proposed system in this Paper has several advantages such as providing real-time control of license and easy maintenance of the software as well as protecting illegal use of the software.
An Efficient Method of Transaction Process for EAI(Enterprise Application Integration) and Web Service

It is important to integrate an enterprise application for automating of the business process, which is responded by a flow of market environment. There are two categories of method that integrate enterprise applications. One is Synchronous Integration, and the other is Asynchronous Integration. EAI(Enterprise Application Integration) and Web service which of the asynchronous integration is focused in the automating method of the business process. After we construct the application integration for automating of the business process, we have to concern about managing of the business transaction. Many Organizations have proposed the process method of business transaction based on 2-phase commit protocol. But this method can`t supply the phase that classify the transaction by transaction weight. In this paper, we propose an efficient method of transaction process for business transactions, which is composed by "Classify Phase" that classify transactions. We called this model "3-Phase Commit Method Applied by Classify Phase, " we design this model to manage an resource of enterprise efficiently. The proposed method is compared by the method based on 2-Phase commit that could be a problem of management the resource of enterprise, and the advantage of this method is certified to propose the solution of that problem.ion of that problem.
Implementation of User-friendly Intelligent Space for Ubiquitous Computing

The paper presents an intelligent space management system for ubiquitous computing. The system is basically a home/office automation system that could control light, electronic key, and home appliances such as TV and audio. On top of these basic capabilities, there are four elegant features in the system. First, we can access the system using either a cellular Phone or using a browser on the PC connected to the Internet, so that we control the system at any time and any place. Second, to provide more human-oriented interface, we integrate voice recognition functionalities into the system. Third, the system supports not only reactive services but also proactive services, based on the regularities of user behavior. Finally, by exploiting embedded technologies, the system could be run on the hardware that has less-processing power and storage. We have implemented the system on the embedded board consisting of StrongARM CPU with 205MHz, 32MB SDRAM, 16MB NOR-type flash memory, and Relay box. Under these hardware platforms, software components such as embedded Linux, HTK voice recognition tools, GoAhead Web Server, and GPIO driver are cooperated to support user-friendly intelligent space.

In this thesis, remote conveyor control and monitoring system is designed and Implemented for shoes production process based on Lego prototyping mechanism by using the I/O interface control board for the ISA Interface control board. A conveyor server for real time profess control is implemented based on RTLinux(Real-Time Linux) so that users deride priority of work. And device driver is implemented bated on the RTLinux. Through this system, real-time Client/server monitoring environments Is implemented and tested. And the JMF(Java Media Framework) based monitoring system was implemented and the total processing status war monitored.

As the semiconductor industrials change 200㎜-sized semiconductor wafer production process to 300㎜-sized one, it requires to develop the software for monitoring and simulating the robot which transfers a 300㎜-sized semiconductor wafer. Because such a software don`t run at standalone but communicate MCS(Material Control System) and Its subsystem a robot, its architecture is very complex. Therefore, in order to develop such a software systematically, we must utilize an object-oriented development methodology. UML. This paper presents an UML process application developing the software for monitoring and simulating the robot which transfers a semiconductor wafer on the production process.

Recently, cosmetic shop market, which is made up of company, agent, and market shop, has got into trouble caused by economic crisis and the coming of new distribution systems such as internet shopping mall. To overcome the problems, in this paper, we propose a cosmetic distribution portal system, which we call COSPO. COSPO is a portal system that has three functions. The first is automation of the business process for product distribution between the company, agent, and market shops. The second is communication between them. The final is sharing information generated through the automated process. In this paper, we build a prototype that support distribution channel of a company. Then, ultimately it should be extended to cover the distribution network of all companies. COSPO will contribute to the modernization of the cosmetic market industry in the country as well as to the increase of the profits.

Recently, the wireless internet terminals like mobile phones or PDAs prevail in the management of customers. With such terminals, businessmen can get business data and information of customers in real time, in connection with mobile group wares. By the wireless terminals, customers can conveniently get information of goods, search purchase sites, and give orders and do settlement. This paper aims to present the safe data integrity modules of the wireless internet terminal, for service providing correct real-time promotion information, by using users` disposition, situation, Purchase information. This study aims to suggest an implementation methodology of security module for data integrity of mobile internet terminal. This is based on the WTLS of WAP Protocol.
