Design of Efficient Storage Exploiting Structural Similarity in Microarray Data

As one of typical techniques for acquiring bio-information, microarray has contributed greatly to development of bioinformatics. Although it is established as a core technology in bioinformatics, it has difficulty in sharing and storing data because data from experiments has huge and complex type. In this paper, we propose a new method which uses the feature that microarray data format in MAGE-ML, a standard format for exchanging data, has frequent structurally similar patterns. This method constructs compact database by simplifying MAGE-ML schema. In this method, Inlining techniques and newly proposed classification techniques using structural similarity of elements are used. The structure of database becomes simpler and number of table-joins is reduced, performance is enhanced using this method.
A study on Designing Metadata Structure and Element on Web Archiving based on the ISO 14721 OAIS Reference Model

This study is to develope the structures and the elements of the metadata for harvesting, management and preservation of a valuable web resources in the web archiving. For this study, we investigated the available metadata in the web archiving and surveyed the requirements of web archiving process. And we analyzed the characteristics of web resources. Also, this study was used a based on the ISO 14721 OAIS Reference Model. Finally, to share the metadata elements among the web archiving system, this study considered the interoperability for the exchange of the metadata. Based on the result, this study designed four structures of the metadata and defined the 28 core metadata elements for the web archiving.
A CNV detection algorithm based on statistical analysis of the aligned reads

Recently it was found that various genetic structural variations such as CNV(copy number variation) exist in the human genome, and these variations are closely related with disease susceptibility, reaction to treatment, and genetic characteristics. In this paper we propose a new CNV detection algorithm using millions of short DNA sequences generated by giga-sequencing technology. Our method maps the DNA sequences onto the reference sequence, and obtains the occurrence frequency of each read in the reference sequence. And then it detects the statistically significant regions which are longer than 1Kbp as the candidate CNV regions by analyzing the distribution of the occurrence frequency. To select a proper read alignment method, several methods are employed in our algorithm, and the performances are compared. To verify the superiority of our approach, we performed extensive experiments. The result of simulation experiments (using a reference sequence, build 35 of NCBI) revealed that our approach successfully finds all the CNV regions that have various shapes and arbitrary length (small, intermediate, or large size).
Frequent Patten Tree based XML Stream Mining

XML data are widely used for data representation and exchange on the Web and the data type is an continuous stream in ubiquitous environment. Therefore there are some mining researches related to the extracting of frequent structures and the efficient query processing of XML stream data. In this paper, we propose a mining method to extract frequent structures of XML stream data in recent window based on the sliding window. XML stream data are modeled as a tree set, called XFP_tree and we quickly extract the frequent structures over recent XML data in the XFP_tree.
Personalized and Social Search by Finding User Similarity based on Social Networks

Social Networks which is composed of network with an individual in the center in a web support mutual-understanding of information by searching user profile and forming new link. Therefore, if we apply the Social Network which consists of web users who have similar immanent information to web search, we can improve efficiency of web search and satisfaction of web user about search results. In this paper, first, we make a Social Network using web users linked directly or indirectly. Next, we calculate Similarity among web users using their immanent information according to topics, and then reconstruct Social Network based on varying Similarity according to topics. Last, we compare Similarity with Search Pattern. As a result of this test, we can confirm a result that among users who have high relationship index, that is, who have strong link strength according to personal attributes have similar search pattern. If such fact is applied to search algorithm, it can be possible to improve search efficiency and reliability in personalized and social search.
Finding Association Rules based on the Significant Rare Relation of Events with Time Attribute

An event means a flow which has a time attribute such as the a symptom of patients, an interval event has the time period between the start-time-point and the end-time-point. Although there are many studies for temporal data mining, they do not deal with discovering knowledge from interval event such as patient histories and purchase histories. In this paper, we suggest a method of temporal data mining that finds association rules of event causal relationships and predicts an occurrence of effect event based on discovered rules. Our method can predict the occurrence of an event by summarizing an interval event using the time attribute of an event and finding the causal relationship of event. As a result of simulation, this method can discover better knowledge than others by considering a lot of supports of an event and finding the significant rare relation on interval events which means an essential cause of an event, regardless of an occurrence support of an event in comparison with conventional data mining techniques.
A Study on XMDR-DSM System Design for Cooperative

In the enterprises the data integration based on service requires integrated data management as the change in the environment of enterprises accelerates. Cooperation among enterprises is accomplished through accessing distributed database using business process. As this approach is performed based on the global query, problems such as data heterogeneity, schema heterogeneity, and verification of validity have to be solved in advance for the interoperability among the heterogeneous system. Thus, cooperation requires dynamic and reliable construction. In this paper, we propose XMDR-DSM (eXtended MetaData Registry-Data Service Mediator) system for cooperation. XMDR-DSM, which is comprised of XMDR-DS, XMDR-DQP, and XMDR-DAI, supports the mapping between global schema and local schema and provides data access and integration service. Therefore, XMDR-DSM enables the mutual support of business operations among heterogeneous database. In addition, it can secure information as reusable asset and the standardization of interchange. Also it can manage unified information since it provides business process based on workflow; therefore, it will be able to increase the life span of information and reduce the cost.

The Enterprise Service Bus based on Java Business Integration is an web service standard and one of the methods for implementing distribution channels of Service Oriented Architecture. Consisting of open source group, extensive venders and users, the ESB based JBI has the problems of ineffectiveness as well as advantages of extensibility of service plug-in. That is, in case users need to use Service plug-in, manual connection of packaging process and sequential distribution method is required. This study, therefore, proposes as a way of trouble-shooting the user-oriented component deployment tool which can manage entire process for deploying The ESB middleware platform to Service unit. At the same time, this study elicited the requirements based on issues of JBI-based ESB and has developed the modeling property, packaging, distribution and evaluation thru Schema analysis of JBI-compatible component. Using the deployment tool this study proposed, users will be able to perform and manage the whole deploying process without additional manual work for connecting component. Not only it is expected that interface based on Graphic User Interface provide usability and convenience but they can also minimize the errors rate through component and route validity verification function provided in deployment tool.
Estimation of software project effort with genetic algorithm and support vector regression

The accurate estimation of software development cost is important to a successful development in software engineering. Until recent days, the model using regression analysis based on statistical algorithm and machine learning method have been used. However, this paper estimates the software cost using support vector regression, a sort of machine learning technique. Also, it finds the best set of optimized parameters applying genetic algorithm. The proposed GA-SVR model outperform some recent results reported in the literature.
A Study on Selection of a Service Composition Target using AHP

The appearance of SOA affects business and IT environment and many studies on SOA is progressed in academics and industries. Service will increase extremely and make business opportunity by composing service. In addition, It will support it. However, studies on selection of a service composition target are insufficient. In this study, we propose a framework that select a service composition target so we use Analytic Hierarchy Process methodology. As a result of this study, we enabled service selection to apply functional/non-functional attributes of services, various stakeholder's view and some selection criteria with service composition.
An Approach to Developing Service Descriptions Based on Product Line

Software product line engineering is an approach to creating core assets by systematically exploits common that can be highly reusableand different characteristics in related system families that is domain. By adapting this approachin object and component paradigm, software productivity is extended. Recently, Software development paradigm is changed to service oriented paradigm which is using services that are core assets. Therefore, to develop service oriented software more flexible, systematic and to enhance business agility about business changes, we need adaptation of product line to creation of services that are core assets. In this paper, we propose an approach to create and specify domain service through combine of product line and service oriented paradigm. Domain service explicitly specifies commonality and variability by domain service common/optional property variability, operation type variability, message type variability. By using this approach, it can support efficient and flexible service oriented development by producing various services through customization of domain service for the purpose.
Valuation of Architecture-based Deterministic Plan for Software Evolution

Software architecture allows us to make many decisions about a software system and analyze it even before it exists in order to make systematic and planned development possible. Similarly, architecture-based software evolution planningmakes planned evolution possible by allowing us to make many decisions about evolution of a software system and analyze its evolution at the level of architecture design before software evolution is realized. In this paper, we develop a framework for architecture-based software evolution planning for the class of deterministic evolution plans by defining and relating various essential concepts and developing its valuationmechanism so that a plan with the greatest value among candidate plans can be selected as an optimal plan. A case study is conducted for explicating the framework and exemplifying its usage.
A Requirement Priority Process of Embedded Systems based on the Dependency and Aspect

Setting up a priorityfor an embedded system is greatly significant because a release plan at the early stage of product developments can properly be established through right decision making procedures based on the priorities. For instance, both dependencies among requirements and the aspects of product developers should be considered into the priorities to improve the embedded system. Especially, trade-offs among the requirements, which are quite different depending on H/W and S/W architecture styles they use, should be acknowledged without exception. However, the selection process on the priority has hitherto been fairly systematic in the existing environment where hardware and software are not being considered at once. Therefore, this paper suggests an dependency and aspect-based model and process for the requirements of the priority. For this, the paper analyzes the trade-offs between the requirements depending on the disparate Architecture styles of H/W and S/W, and it also reflects the viewpoints of the developers. For thelast thing, the model and process suggested will be applied to the case of the development of both cell phones and cameras to gain authenticity and reliability. In conclusion, the danger occurring when the release plan is constructed can be minimized by screening the priorities that optimizes the embedded system more explicitly.
Variability Dependency Analysis for Generating Business Process Models based on Variability Decisions

Recently, the business process family model (BPFM), which is new approachfor assuring businessflexibility and enhancing reuse in application development with service oriented architecture (SOA), was proposed. The BPFM is a model which can explicitly represent the variabilities in business process family by using the variability analysis method of software product line. Many business process models (BPM) can be generated automatically through decision and pruning processes from BPFM. At this time, the variabilities tend to have inclusive or exclusive dependencies between them. This affects the decision and pruning processes. So far, little attention has been given to the binding information of variability dependency in the BPFM. In this paper, we propose an approach for analyzing various types of dependency relationships between variabilities and representing the variability and their relationships as a dependency analysis model. Additionally, a method which can trace the variabilities affected by a decision on the dependency analysis model is presented. The case study shows that the proposed approach helps to reduce the number of variability decision and to solve a disagreement of functions in BPM produced by incorrectly deciding the variability.
A Design and Implementation of User Device Framework for Service Adapted Contents

According to development of internet and an increase in demand of multimedia contents, the contents industry is being developed. However, they are served same contents in the limited environment(user device environment, network environment) of the present contents industry. And users have difficulties in searching and finding contents since they are served contents they want and contents suitable to diverse context and affection. Therefore, it is necessary to make a system offering contents according to context and affection of users. The study proposes the system to offer contents suitable to context and affection of users whenever and wherever through diverse devices in a ubiquitous environment and designs/implementation a user device framework system that users can be offered contents suitable to their devices.
A SAML based SSO method in RIA environment

Current SSO has focused on authenticated integration between inter systems in a domain.On the contrary, becasuse SSO using SAML can support integration between different domains, once it is used in RIA, we can expect highly synergic effect. However, because researches on SSO using SAML are mainly those on authenticated information exchange between servers, a special research is needed in order to be applied in RIA environment, which conducts numerous managements in client. This study proposes architecture and explain a practice structure in order to apply SAML to RIA. Also, this study has embodied the proposed architecture and applied it on DWR, which is used mostly as Data communication framework of RIA, and verified the useablity of this architecture.
TRIB : A Clustering and Visualization System for Responding Comments on Blogs

In recent years, Weblog has become the most typical social media for citizens to share their opinions. And, many Weblogs reflect several social issues. There are many internet users who actively express their opinions for internet news or Weblog articles through the replying comments on online community. Hence, we can easily find internet blogs including more than 10 thousand replying comments. It is hard to search and explore useful messages on weblogs since most of weblog systems show articles and their comments to the form of sequential list. In this paper, we propose a visualizing and clustering system called TRIB (Telescope for Responding comments for Internet Blog) for a large set of responding comments for a Weblog article. TRIB clusters and visualizes the replying comments considering their contents using pre-defined user dictionary. Also, TRIB provides various personalized views considering the interests of users. To show the usefulness of TRIB, we conducted some experiments, concerning the clustering and visualizing capabilities of TRIB, with articles that have more than 1,000 comments.
