Implementation and Performance Analysis of Network Access Control Based on 802.1X for Effective Access Control on BYOD

In the business environment BYOD(Bring Your Own Device) is used and being expanded continuously. According to a survey conducted by Cisco in 2012 on 600 companies, 95% of them are already permitting the use of BYOD in their work environments so that productivity of their employees has improved as a result. Gartner predicted that the use of BYOD will be caused new security threat. They also suggested to introduce NAC(Network Access Control) to resolve this threat, to separate network zone based on importance of their business, to establish the policy to consider user authority and device type, and to enforce the policy. The purpose of this paper is to design and implement the NAC for granular access control based on IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) 802.1X and DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) fingerprinting, and to analyze the performance on BYOD environment.
Semantic Cloud Resource Recommendation Using Cluster Analysis in Hybrid Cloud Computing Environment

Scientists gain benefits from on-demand scalable resource provisioning, and various computing environments by using cloud computing resources for their applications. However, many cloud computing service providers offer their cloud resources according to their own policies. The descriptions of resource specification are diverse among vendors. Subsequently, it becomes difficult to find suitable cloud resources according to the characteristics of an application. Due to limited understanding of resource availability, scientists tend to choose resources used in previous experiments or over-performed resources without considering the characteristics of their applications. The need for standardized notations on diverse cloud resources without the constraints of complicated specification given by providers leads to active studies on intercloud to support interoperability in hybrid cloud environments. However, projects related to intercloud studies are limited as they are short of expertise in application characteristics. We define an intercloud resource classification and propose semantic resource recommendation based on statistical analysis to provide semantic cloud resource services for an application in hybrid cloud computing environments. The scheme proves benefits on resource availability and cost-efficiency with choosing semantically similar cloud resources using cluster analysis while considering application characteristics.
Personalized Movie Recommendation System Using Context-Aware Collaborative Filtering Technique

The explosive growth of information has been difficult for users to get an appropriate information in time. The various ways of new services to solve problems has been provided. As customized service is being magnified, the personalized recommendation system has been important issue. Collaborative filtering system in the recommendation system is widely used, and it is the most successful process in the recommendation system. As the recommendation is based on customers' profile, there can be sparsity and cold-start problems. In this paper, we propose personalized movie recommendation system using collaborative filtering techniques and context-based techniques. The context-based technique is the recommendation method that considers user's environment in term of time, emotion and location, and it can reflect user's preferences depending on the various environments. In order to utilize the context-based technique, this paper uses the human emotion, and uses movie reviews which are effective way to identify subjective individual information. In this paper, this proposed method shows outperforming existing collaborative filtering methods.
Design and Prototyping of Scientific Collaboration Platform over KREONET

Cloud computing has been increasingly used in various fields due to its flexibility, scalability, cost effectiveness, etc. Recently, many scientific communities have been attempting to use cloud computing as a way to deal with difficulties in constructing and operating a research infrastructure. Especially, since they need various collaborations based on networking, such as sharing experimental data, redistributing experimental results, and so forth, cloud computing environment that supports high performance networking is required for scientific communities. To address these issues, we propose RealLab, a high performance cloud platform for collaborative research that provides virtual experimental research environment and data sharing infrastructure over KREONET/GLORIAD. Additionally, we describe some RealLab use cases for showing the swift creation of experimental environment and explain how massive experimental data can be transferred and shared among the community members.
Selective Recovery of the SSD TRIM Command in Digital Forensics

Recently, market trends of auxiliary storage device HDD and SSD are interchangeable. In the future, the SSD is expected to be used more popular than HDD as an auxiliary storage device. The TRIM command technique has been proposed and used effectively due to the development of the SSD. The TRIM command techniques can be used to solve the problem of Freezing SSD that operating system cooperates with the SSD. The TRIM command techniques are performed in the idle time of the internal SSD that are actually deleted when a user deletes the data. However, in the point of view of computer forensics, the digital crime is increasing year by year due to lack of data recovery. Thus, this rate of arrest is insufficient. In this paper, I propose a solution that selectively manages data to delete based on advantage of the stability and the write speed of the TRIM command. Through experiments, It is verified by measuring the performance of the traditional method and selected method.
A Development of Adaptive VM Migration Techniques in Cloud Computing

In cloud computing, server virtualization supports one or more virtual machines loaded on multiple operating systems on a single physical host server. Migration of a VM is moving the VM running on a source host to another physical machine called target host. A VM live migration is essential to support task performance optimization, energy efficiency and energy saving, fault tolerance and load balancing. In this paper, we propose open source based adaptive VM live migration technique. For this, we design VM monitoring module to decide VM live migration and open source based full-virtualization hypervisor.
Wireless Data Transmission Algorithm Using Cyclic Redundancy Check and High Frequency of Audible Range

In this paper, we proposed an algorithm which could transmit reliable data between smart devices by using inaudible high frequency of audible frequency range and cyclic redundancy check method. The proposed method uses 18 kHz~22 kHz as high frequency which inner speaker of smart device can make a sound in audible frequency range (20 Hz~22 kHz). To increase transmission quantity of data, we send mixed various frequencies at high frequency range 1 (18.0 kHz~21.2 kHz). At the same time, to increase accuracy of transmission data, we send some mixed frequencies at high frequency range 2 (21.2 kHz~22.0 kHz) as checksum. We did experiments about data transmission between smart devices by using the proposed method to confirm data transmission speed and accuracy of the proposed method. From the experiments, we showed that the proposed method could transmit 32 bits data in 235 ms, the transmission success rate was 99.47%, and error detection by using cyclic redundancy check was 0.53%. Therefore, the proposed method will be a useful for wireless transmission technology between smart devices.
Fixed Size Memory Pool Management Method for Mobile Game Servers

Mobile game servers usually execute frequent dynamic memory allocation for generating the buffers that deal with clients requests. It causes to deteriorate the performance of game servers since it increases system workload and memory fragmentation. In this paper, we propose fixed-sized memory pool management method. Memory pool for the proposed method has a sequential memory structure based on circular linked list data structure. It solves memory fragmentation problem and saves time for searching the memory blocks which are required for memory allocation and deallocation. We showed the efficiency of the proposed method by evaluating the performance of dynamic memory allocation, through the proposed method and the memory pool management method based on boost open source library.
