A Study of the Factors in Influencing Satisfaction with the National Education Information System
Kang, Youn-Jung ; No, Yun-Seok ; Lee, Mon-Jun ;
The Journal of Information Systems, volume 17, issue 1, 2008, Pages 1~22
DOI : 10.5859/KAIS.2008.17.1.001
As National Education Information Systems (NEIS) is supposed to broadly introduced all over the country, we need to understand factors that would affect its successful use. Studies regarding the NEIS have been made in terms of a social issue according to its introduction and use, however there has been only little research made in terms of the use of the system so far. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the factors that would have effect on a successful use of the NEIS. A research model of the study is based on the extended DeLone and McLean's information systems success model with two characteristics of computer self-efficacy and perceived fairness. Based on the survey data from 168 subjects, the present study performs SEM analysis with PLS. The results show that perceived usefulness and computer self-efficacy improves the user satisfaction. However, the user' satisfaction does not cause system characteristics- system quality, information quality, service quality -and perceived fairness not effect. The study provides characteristics which can effectively and smoothly introduce the NEIS for its successful use on the upcoming full scale execution on the NEIS.
A Study on Factors Influencing User's Security Behavioral Intention for Choosing Password
Kim, Jong-Ki ; Kang, Da-Yeon ; Jeon, Jin-Hwan ;
The Journal of Information Systems, volume 17, issue 1, 2008, Pages 23~43
DOI : 10.5859/KAIS.2008.17.1.023
Nowadays, openness and accessibility of information systems increase security threats from inside and outside of organization. Appropriate password is supposed to bring out security effects such as preventing misuses and banning illegal users. This study emphasizes on choosing passwords from perspective of information security and investigated user's security awareness affecting behavioral intention. The research model proposed in this study includes user's security belief which is influenced by risk awareness factors such as information assets, threats and vulnerability elements. The risk awareness factors ale derived from risk analysis methodologies for information security. User's risk awareness is a factor influencing the security belief, attitude toward security behavior, and security behavioral intention. According to the result of this study, while vulnerability is not related to the risk awareness, information assets and threats are related to the user's risk awareness. There is a significant relationship between risk awareness and security belief. Also, user's security behavioral intention is significantly affected by security attitude.
A Study on Effects of Success Factors and Strategies of Convergence Products
Kang, Byung-Young ; Park, Jin-Yong ; Hong, Han-Kuk ;
The Journal of Information Systems, volume 17, issue 1, 2008, Pages 45~62
DOI : 10.5859/KAIS.2008.17.1.045
The purpose of this research is to investigate success factors and strategics of convergence products in Korea. The research based on existing literature regarding the innovation resistance and product bundling, examines the factors influencing consumer responses to convergence products. The research scheme was experimented through a questionnaire survey answered by 128 companies. The research model was composed of 4 groups: 1) consumer innovativeness, 2) perceived usefulness and ease of use, 3) perceived risk, 4) new product risk The results of this research reveal that consumer evaluation(consumer satisfaction and purchase intentions) are affected by consumer perceptions of risk, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, new product risk.
A Study on the e-CRM, Customer Satisfaction, Repurchase Intention and Word of Mouth Intention in the Internet Shopping Mall
Yoon, Jong-Hoon ; Chung, Ji-Bok ; Kim, Yong-Min ;
The Journal of Information Systems, volume 17, issue 1, 2008, Pages 63~82
DOI : 10.5859/KAIS.2008.17.1.063
Recently the development of information technology and the emergence of electronic commerce have brought significant changes of purchase behavior in customers. The purpose of this research is to investigate the important elements of e-CRM which influence the customers satisfaction in the shopping mall. Also this study is to investigate the relationship between customer satisfaction and repurchase intention and word of mouth intention. What we have found are as follows. (1) e-CRM elements greatly influencing on customer satisfaction in the shopping mall were e-Marketing, s-Sales, e-Service, and e-Security. (2) results of the relationship between customer satisfaction and repurchase intention was significant. (3) results of the relationship between customer satisfaction and word of mouth intention was significant. (4) results of the relationship between repurchase intention and word of mouth intention was significant. In conclusion, the results of this study will be helpful for the managers participating the operation of internet shopping mall.
The Influence of Learning Performance on the Characteristics of Information System and User's Self-Regulated Characteristics in the e-Learning
Lee, Dong-Man ; Ahn, Hyun-Sook ; Choo, Sung-Yoon ;
The Journal of Information Systems, volume 17, issue 1, 2008, Pages 83~111
DOI : 10.5859/KAIS.2008.17.1.083
The purpose of this study is to identify which factors are important for learning performance and the moderating effects of self-regulated factors such as elaboration and organization between users characteristic(perceived usefulness, preparatory education, internet experience) and learning performance. To Accomplish these research purpose, this study performed a survey and 173 response were used for statistical analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, 7 factors(ease of use, interactivity, accuracy, media richness, perceived usefulness, preparatory education, internet experience) had significant impacts on learning performance whereas reliability did not. Second, the moderating effects of self-regulated factors showed that Elaboration of self-regulated factors can be considered as a significant moderating variable between 2 factors(perceived usefulness, internet experience) and teaming performance.

DOI : 10.5859/KAIS.2008.17.1.131
So many location based service systems, including automobile navigation system logistic management, taxi fleet management, and so on, are being used everywhere. However, these are all outdoors. This paper provides a stepping stone for commercial indoor location based services by developing an integrated system of our indoor positioning and map viewer modules. For the indoor positioning, we propose WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) based EKF (Extended Kalman Filter) which estimates user's current location and tracts user's trace in the sequence of time. Our map viewer renders a map recorded in an Autocad DXF file and provides functions of map manipulation such as zoom-in, zoom-out, and move. We integrate our indoor positioning and map viewer modules and discuss the experimental results of the integrated system.

DOI : 10.5859/KAIS.2008.17.1.155
This thesis proposed a method that connecting step motor to image send board which can acquire image to move and remote controlling via streaming image board of PDA(personal digital assistant) based on embedded Linux which is using wireless network There are three embedded Linux system to embody movable image send board. First, though the wireless network a signal of PDA is transmitted to the board which has embedded Linux and a system which is controlled by the expansion I/O port of the board. Second, it's a system streaming realtime image at a PDA which has embedded Linux. The last is a system which controls a process of image board using TCP/IP communication and image send board at PC. These are the system which can use industrial settings and homes. It can also make use of an embodiment method about travelling image robot.
