A New Design of High-Speed 1-Bit Full Adder Cell Using 0.18

With the recent development of portable system such as mobile communication and multimedia. Full adders are important components in applications such as digital signal processors and microprocessors. Thus It is important to improve the power dissipation and operating speed for designing a full adder. We propose a new adder with modified version of conventional Ratioed logic and Pass Transistor logic. The proposed adder has the advantages over the conventional CMOS, TGA, 14T logic. The delay time is improved by 13% comparing to the average value and PDP(Power Delay Product) is improved by 9% comparing to the average value. Layouts have been carried out using a 0.18um CMOS design rule for evaluation purposes. The physical design has been evaluated using HSPICE.

Recently, GMAHN that provides interface between MANET and Wired Network has been focused in mobile communication. It is necessary that the technology provide reliable data transmission technology between mobile node and wired network in MANET environment that is varied by the node movement. In this paper, using the TCP protocol(Tahoe, Reno, Vegas, SACK)that increases reliability between source and destination, we applied the TCP protocol mechanism to various environment, and proposed the most efficient TCP mechanism by comparing each mechanism.

With the advent of Ubiquitous environment, wired-wireless combination network is being studied very actively in which mobile nodes having multi-hop communication capability connect wired internet network easily, and shares the information. The study of wired and wireless combination network between MANET(Mobile Ad Hoc Network) and wired network is being focused only on the configuration of heterogeneous network interface. The proposed algorithm establishes independent multi-paths between source node and destination node to prevent data loss when errors happen in route. As the result, it shows that the reliability of the combination network can be improved by making data transmit continuously on the route error.

A Study of On-Chip Voltage Down Converter for Semiconductor Devices

This paper proposes a new on-chip voltage down converter(VDC), which employs a new reference voltage generator(RVG). The converter adopts a temperature-independence reference voltage generator, and a voltage-up converter. The architecture of the proposed VDC has a high-precision, and it was verified based on a 0.25
1P5M standard CMOS technology. For 2.5V to 1.0V conversion, the RVG circuit has a good characteristics such as temperature dependency of only 0.2mV/
, and the voltage-up circuit has a good voltage deviation within
5% variation of supply voltage VDD. The output voltage is stabilized with
1mV for load current varying from 0 to 100mA.

In this paper, the output and temperature characteristics for an optical signal of the fiber bragg grating have been considered. Also, output characteristics which depend on the temperature changes have been investigated for an all-optic add/drop multiplexer based on the fiber bragg grating and Mach-Zehnder interferometer. From the obtained results, they show that the center wavelength of output spectrum shifts approximately 0.01230 nm/
within a temperature range
3D Building Reconstruction Using a New Perceptual Grouping Technique

This paper presents a new method for building detection and reconstruction from aerial images. In our approach, we extract the useful building location information from the generated disparity map to obtain the segmentation of interested objects and thus reduce significantly unnecessary line segment extracted in low level feature extraction step. Hypothesis selection is carried out by using undirected graph in which close cycles represent complete rooftops hypotheses, and hypothesis are finally tested to contruct building model. We test the proposed method with synthetic images generated from Avenches dataset of Ascona aerial images. The experiment result shows that the extracted 3D line segments of the buildings can be efficiently used for the task of building detection and reconstruction from aerial images.
Design and Implementation of a Low-Noise SMPS for Distributed Control Systems

In this paper, a new efficient SMPS has been designed and implemented. It can replace the existing product that is widely used in industry. To investigate the performance of the conventional SMPS, the output voltage changes due to variations in the input voltage and the load conditions, and the ripple and noise voltages have been measured and analyzed. As a result, it has been confirmed that the noise in the conventional SMPS is severe due to the deficiency of patterns for current. This is because the conventional SMPS draw out all outputs using one transformer and the alarm logic exists in the output path. To solve this problem, the switching frequency is increased from 17KHz to 70KHz and the current patterns are fully guaranteed by separating the alarm circuit and PWM circuit as a sub-board from the main board. Measurement results shows that the output noise of the designed SMPS decreases below 32% of the conventional SMPS noise for various test conditions, and both the line and load regulations are improved.
An Incremental Multi Partition Averaging Algorithm Based on Memory Based Reasoning

One of the popular methods used for pattern classification is the MBR (Memory-Based Reasoning) algorithm. Since it simply computes distances between a test pattern and training patterns or hyperplanes stored in memory, and then assigns the class of the nearest training pattern, it is notorious for memory usage and can't learn additional information from new data. In order to overcome this problem, we propose an incremental learning algorithm (iMPA). iMPA divides the entire pattern space into fixed number partitions, and generates representatives from each partition. Also, due to the fact that it can not learn additional information from new data, we present iMPA which can learn additional information from new data and not require access to the original data, used to train. Proposed methods have been successfully shown to exhibit comparable performance to k-NN with a lot less number of patterns and better result than EACH system which implements the NGE theory using benchmark data sets from UCI Machine Learning Repository.
