Design of a Fluidity Measuring Device for the Concrete Using WSN

The high flowability performance evaluation device for the concrete is the device which was designed to compensate from the incorrect data detection of the viscosimetry examination of the existing concrete. As for the existing concrete viscosimetry method, the measuring data for a viscosity are very irregular by the point of view of an experimenter and a supervisor, Therefore there were some problems to have many different opinions by a small numerical value difference according to the job characteristic. In this paper, we suggested some mechanism to compensate the problem and some driving electronics including the related algorithm, and the communication structure with wireless sensor network between the devices and users are also presented. The effectiveness of the suggested method was verified with a real experiment.
Adaptive Neural Control of Nonlinear Pure-feedback Systems

A new Adaptive neural state-feedback controller for the fully nonaffine pure-feedback nonlinear system are presented in this paper. By reformulating the original pure-feedback system to a standard normal form with respect to newly defined state variables, the proposed controller requires no backstepping design procedure. Avoiding backstepping makes the controller structure and stability analysis considerably simple. The proposed controller employs only one neural network to approximate unknown ideal controllers, which highlights the simplicity of the proposed neural controller. Simulation examples demonstrate the efficiency and performance of the proposed approach.
A Design of Piezo Driver IC for Auto Focus Camera System

This paper describes a auto focus piezo actuator driver IC for portable digital camera. The 80[V] DC voltage is generated by a DC-DC converter and supplied to power of piezo moving control circuit. The voltage of piezo actuator needs range -20[V] to 80[V] proportional to 1[Vp-p] input control voltages. The dimensions and number of external parts are minimized in order to get a smaller hardware size. IIC(Inter-IC) interface logic is designed for data interface and it makes debugging easy, test for mass productions. The power consumption is around 40[mW] with supply voltage of 3.6[V]. This device has been fabricated in a 0.6[um] double poly, triple metal 100[V] BCD MOS process and whole chip size is 1600*1500 [
Optimal Design of Field Ring for Power Devices

In this paper, we proposed trench field ring for breakdown voltage of power devices. The proposed trench field ring was improved 10% efficiency comparing with conventional field ring. we analyzed five parameters of trench field ring for design of trench field ring and carried out 2-D devices simulation and process simulations. That is, we analyzed number of field ring, juction depth, distance of field rings, trench width, doping profield. The proposed trench field ring was better to more 1000V.
Interference Signal Cancellation Algorithm using Parallel sub-filters for W-CDMA repeater

We propose a new interference cancellation algorithm for W-CDMA repeater. The proposed algorithm uses the parallel multiple sub-filters instead of one long filter. We justify that convergence rate can be improved by using the proposed algorithm. The improvement of convergence rate is verified in a practical benchmark test condition.
The Development of Interoperability Tester for the IEC 61850 based on TTCN-3

TTCN-3(Testing & Test Control Notation Version 3) is the international standard testing language defined by ETSI in 2001. TTCN-3 is generally used for protocol conformance test, but it is also possible to be applied to the platform and API tests based on CORBA. Moreover, it can be also applied to the various testings such as interworking testing, repetition testing, platform testing, etc. IEC 61850 is the protocol proposed for SAS(Substation Automation System) of SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system. In this paper, a IEC 61850 interoperability Tester based TTCN-3 is developed under the Window environment. IEC 61850 Server Simulator of Linux operating system is used as SUT(System Under Test). Conformance testing items in this paper are the Positive test case_Srv5 of "Server, Logical device, Logical node, and data model" in the testing group of "IEC 61850 - Part10" document.
Improved Electrical Characteristics of HgSe Nanoparticle-based Thin Film Transistors by Thermal Annealing

Real-Time Object Recognition Using Local Features

Automatic detection of objects in images has been one of core challenges in the areas such as computer vision and pattern analysis. Especially, with the recent deployment of personal mobile devices such as smart phone, such technology is required to be transported to them. Usually, these smart phone users are equipped with devices such as camera, GPS, and gyroscope and provide various services through user-friendly interface. However, the smart phones fail to give excellent performance due to limited system resources. In this paper, we propose a new scheme to improve object recognition performance based on pre-computation and simple local features. In the pre-processing, we first find several representative parts from similar type objects and classify them. In addition, we extract features from each classified part and train them using regression functions. For a given query image, we first find candidate representative parts and compare them with trained information to recognize objects. Through experiments, we have shown that our proposed scheme can achieve resonable performance.
A 60GHz Active Phase Shifter with 65nm CMOS Switching-Amplifiers

A 60GHz active phase shifter with 65nm CMOS is presented by replacing passive switches in switched-line type phase shifter with active ones. Active-switch phase shifter is composed of active-switch blocks and passive delay network blocks. The active-switch phase shifter design is compact compare with the conventional vector-sum phase shifter. Active-switch blocks are designed to accomplish required input and output impedances whose requirements are different whether the switch is on or off. And passive delay network blocks are composed of lumped L,C instead of normal microstrip line to reduce the size of the circuit. An 1-bit phase shifter is fabricated by TSMC 65nm CMOS technology and measurement results present -4dB average insertion loss and 120 degree phase shift at 65GHz.
Probabilistic Method of Risk Assessment in Voltage Sag Mitigation Studies

Power quality mitigation devices play an important role in lots of industrial segments. Although there were many devices available in the market, the selection of an appropriate device specially for voltage sags and interruptions mitigation has been a challenge in the utility and customer for several years. It usually depends on technical and economic characteristics of the device. Nevertheless, most mitigation method is selected by rule of thumb or empirical method. In this paper, the life cycle cost analysis for the probabilistic risk assesment of voltage sag mitigation method is performed using either the deterministic or probabilistic approach. The difference between a deterministic and a probabilistic cost analysis approach is illustrated with five different case studies. This paper not only provides a comparison of life cycle costing of various devices but it also indirectly shows the possible savings due to the mitigation of voltage sags in the form of a project balance chart.
Implementation of Marine Optical Sensor System Using A Line-CCD

We fabricated optical sensor system that take a measurement particles using a line-CCD in ocean. To measure particles, we used 680nm laser diode which is appropriate. we tested to operate optical system in water tank and ocean. It has performance that detected signal of sensors transfer microprocessor, FPGA as long as move up and down it's motion. The system algorithm also analysis output -pressure, temperature, particle numbers in depth.-For experiment, our particle sensor system has high accuracy counter. therefore, we proposed that a line-CCD is available on optical sensor system in ocean.
A Design of Interleaved DC-DC Buck-boost Converter with Improved Conduction Loss of Switch

The interleaved power management IC(PMIC) with DTMOS(Dynamic Threshold voltage MOSFET) switching device is proposed in this paper. The buck-boost converter used to provide the high output voltage and low output voltage for portable applications. Also we used the PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) control method for high power efficiency at high current level. DTMOS with low on-resistance is designed to decrease conduction loss. The interleaved PMIC to reduce output ripple. And step-down DC-DC converter in stand-by mode below 1mA is designed with LDO in order to achive high efficiency.
