MRI Data Segmentation Using Fuzzy C-Mean Algorithm with Intuition

An image segmentation model using fuzzy c-means with intuition (FCM-I) model is proposed for the segmentation of magnetic resonance image in this paper. In FCM-I, a measurement called intuition level is adopted so that the intuition level helps to alleviate the effect of noises. A practical magnetic resonance image data set is used for image segmentation experiment and the performance is compared with those of some conventional algorithms. Results show that the segmentation method based on FCM-I compares favorably to several conventional clustering algorithms. Since FCM-I produces cluster prototypes less sensitive to noises and to the selection of involved parameters than the other algorithms, FCM-I is a good candidate for image segmentation problems.
Study of Set-Operation Based Analytical Approach for OAF Relay Systems over Rayleigh Fading channels

In this letter, another analytical approach for the opportunistic amplify-and-forward (OAF) relay systems is proposed over Rayleigh fading channels. Based on set-operation at the selected relay node, its selection probability as the best relay is derived and then, the probability density function (PDF) of the received instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is expressed as a more tractable form in which the number of summations and the length of each summation are specified. Then, the average error rate, outage probability, and average channel capacity are obtained as approximated closed-forms. Simulation results are finally presented to validate that the proposed analytical expressions can be a unified frame work covering all Rayleigh fading channel conditions. Furthermore, it is confirmed that OAF schemes can outperform the other non-selective schemes on the average error rate, outage probability, and average channel capacity.
A Hysteresis Controllable Monolithic Comparator Circuit for the Radio Frequency Identification

A novel hysteresis tunable monolithic comparator circuit based on a 0.35
CMOS process is suggested in this paper. To tune the threshold voltage of the hysteresis in the comparator circuit, two external digital bits are used with supply voltage of 3.3V. The threshold voltage of the suggested comparator circuit is controlled by 234mV by change of 4 digital control bits in the simulation, which is a close agreement to the analytic calculation.
A Study on Concentrating Photovoltaic System by GPS Solar Tracker

The energy of CPV system is different as the altitude and azimuth of solar. In order to The maximum of solar energy density, the tracking system which does there to make be the module and the solar will be able to maintain a normal line is necessary. This paper proposed for GPS solar tracker of stand-alone 60[W] concentrating photovoltaic system. The position algorithm of solar tracker is through the coordinates transformation calculating the altitude and azimuth of the solar.
Analysis of impact of CATV leakage on CDMA Mobile Communication Systems

In this paper, the leaky electric field intensity of outdoor CATV facilities on CDMA mobile service band defined in technical regulation related with CATV is investigated if appropriate or not. From experimental and theoretical analysis results, Maximum allowable power level of CATV leakage should be -110dBm/1.23MHz. Also, the CATV leakage intensity thresholds, which may not nearly give an impact on the uplink performance of CDMA mobile base station for outdoor background noise of -100~-80dBm/1.23MHz to be measured in outdoor environment, couldn't conform to the current CATV technical regulation. Therefore, the leakage intensity in the current CATV technical regulation is rated as a too much low level in view of an overly worst case.
A Study on the Actuator for Robot Control Using Wireless ZigBee Sensor Networks

The Interest in robotics has been steadily increasing in recent times both in Korea as well as abroad. Research on robots for new and diverse fields is ongoing. This study discusses the current research and development on robot actuator, which are used to control the joints of robots, and focuses on developing more efficient technology for joint control, as compared with the current technologies. It also aims to find means to apply the abovementioned technology to diverse industrial fields. We found that easy and effective control of actuators could be achieved by using ZigBee sensor networks, which were widely being used on wireless communications. Throughout the experiments it is proved that the developed wireless actuator could be used for easy control of various robot joints. This technology can be effectively applied to develop two-legged robots that will be able to walk like human, or even quadruped and hexapod robots. It can also be applied to motors used in industry. In this study, we develop an extremely minimized ZigBee sensor network module that can be used to control various servo motors with low power consumption even if it is long distances. We realized effective wireless control by optimizing the ZigBee antenna, and were able to quickly check the status of relevant Tree node through mutual communication between the servo motors composing the ZigBee sensor network and the main server control modules. The developed Servo Motor with ZigBee sensor network modules can be applied in both robotics as well as for home or factory automation.
Channel Estimation for Scattered Pilot Based OFDM Systems

The scattered pilots employed in DVB-T take advantage of the merits of both the block type and comb type pilot arrangement to increase the transmission efficiency. To estimate the channel transfer functions for data subcarriers, it is required to conduct time-frequency domain 2D estimation using the pilots. Though 2D Wiener estimator is optimal in sense of MSE (mean square error), it is too complex to implement in hardware. In this paper a new channel estimation method for the scattered pilot based OFDM system by measuring the power of AWGN and removing the noise in the LS (least square) estimate of the channel is proposed. And the simulation results reveal the proposed method outperforms the 2D linear interpolation in the fading channel.
Multimedia Fingerprinting in DCT Block

In this paper, it was implemented an algorithm of multimedia fingerprinting in DCT block. For the improvement of the limits of DRM’s ability, the proposed algorithm could be decided a responsibility boundary to judge a traitor who falsified the content according to perform separately a watermarking of content provider and a fingerprinting of content user. , and at a number of users and user's code length are n=7,15,31,63 and l=7,15,31,64 each, the measured PSNR is Inf~46.1 with fingerprinting code length l=7,15,31,63. Finally, a traitor tracing of the falsified content is approached to a trace ratio 1 which is extended to n-1.
Implementation of OpenVG Accelerator based on Multi-Core GP-GPU

Recently, processing burden of CPU is growing because of graphical user interface according to enhance the performance of mobile devices and various graphical effects and creation of contents with 3D graphical effect or Flash animation. Therefore, the GPU are introduced to mobile device for support to variety contents. In this paper, OpenVG accelerator was implemented based on multi-core GP-GPU. OpenVG accelerator is verified using the sample image provided by Khronos group, and overall function is processed by only instruction set without dedicate hardware. The performance of processing the Tiger Image was 2 frames/sec.
Lane Detection using Embedded Multi-core Platform

In this paper, we propose a parallelization technique in lane detection by using Hough transform. Hough transform has a weakness that it has a lot computation quantity, because it has to compute
value in all candidate
to be detected in an image. We propose an architecture of parallel processing for this transform in a multi-core environment. The parallel processing has application to Hough transform as well as noise reduction and edge detection. This proposed architecture has 5.17 times improvement in performance compare to the existing algorithm.
