Design of the Shaped Offset Cassegrain Antenna System Combined with Corrugated Conical Feed Horn

In this paper, the design for the shaped offset cassegrain antenna system combined with corrugated feed horn is presented. First, spherical-mode wave theory is applied to the corrugated conical horn and its radiation patterns are investigated. Using the radiation patterns, design data of the corrugated conical horn are obtained by efficiency investigation of horn antenna. When the investigation is completed, the flare angle and length of the corrugated conical horn is determined. Next, the main and sub-reflector is designed using Snellis law and the conservation principle of energy. Then the uniform direction and energy density of the traveling wave at the aperture of the main-reflector is obtained. The maximum size of the main-reflector is determined by investigation of the illumination and spillover efficiency. Finally, the curvature of the main-reflector is modified to satisfy the condition of the uniform phase. From the calculated efficiencies, the designed site of the main-reflector and sub-reflector, system gain of the shaped offset cassegrain antenna has been obtained 40.5dB in Ka-band frequency. It has better characteristics than the result of SABOR with 39dB gain.
The Design of Digital Audio Interpolation Filter for Integrating Off-Chip Analog Low-Pass Filter

, -0.0025[dB] and -75[dB], respectively. Also the inband group delay was 30.07/fs[s] and the error of group delay was 0.1672%. Also, the attenuation of stopband has been increased -20[dB] approximately at 65[kHz], out-of-band. Therefore the RC products of analog low-pass filter on chip have been decreased compared with the conventional digital interpolation filter structure.
Cell Loss Recovery Algorithm for ATM Networks

The existing CREG-VP, a technique to compensate the successive cell losses caused by traffic congestion using the FEC method on the Vp, has the merits of the short average encoding decoding time and the compatibility with the ATM standard cell format, but it has the restriction in the number of regenerable cells. In this thesis, we propose a scheme to efficiently regenerate the cell losses even in the burst traffic property by the expansion of the CREG-VP. The proposed scheme improves the detection capability of the lost cells by changing the CRP and the regeneration performance of the successive cells by using the interleaved parity cell. The simulation result shows that the proposed method produces much improvements compared with the existing ones in the cell loss rate reduction factor.
Radiation Characteristics of the Bianisotropic Superstrate-Loaded Microstrip Antenna on Cylindrical Bianisotropic Substrates

In this paper, the effects of superstrate on the radiation patterns of dipole on cylindrical bianisotropic subtrates were studied. Special constitutive relations are used to describe the bianisotropic properties of a material, such that the Green's function can be formulated. Electromagnetic fields and hounds conditions in spectral region were used to find Creen's function of the spectral representation and electromagnetic fields in space region were derived through inverse Fourier transformations of fields in spectral region using asymptotic formula for far zone. Radiation characteristics of axial Hertzian dipole on superstrate leaded cylindrical bianisotropic substrates were analyzed.

Precise Delay Generation using a Delay Chain Locked by Multiple Clock Period

This paper presents a new technique for generating precise clock delays. The technique can obtain finer timing resolution less than the gate delay of the delay chain by locking in multiple clock period. Using this technique, a 250ps of timing resolution could be achieved from a 750ps delay of the single delay stage in a DLL(Delay Locked Loop) structure. The delay chain of the proposed circuit is locked on three times of the clock period and a finer delay resolution than the absolute gate delay is achieved and verified through the simulation.

DCS require a remote supervisory control that applies a various applications with a period of integrated EIC(electric instrument control) using distributed computer network. Until now, DCS has leaved something to be desired in guaranteeing real-time required in remote site plant. Design of Microwave Direct Conversion Receiver Using Sub-Harmonics Pumped Ring Mixer

In this paper, direct conversion receiver was designed to even harmonic anti-paralled diode pair ring mixer. Using a second harmonic component of LO instead of LO signal and RF signal are mixed by SHP(Sub Harmonic Pumped) mixer with anti-parallel diode pair. Canceling the harmonics of LO signal in ring mixer, SHP mixer using anti-parallel diode pair could mostly reduce the radiation of LO signal through a input port the most, good isolation characteristic, and low spurious characteristic by LO signal was shown over broad band. The produced SHP mixer showed LO/IF, RF/IF and LO/RF isolation was 24.6dB,36.2dB and 22.5dB respectively. And conversion loss was measured 15.6dB, IF output -35.6dBm with -20dBm RF input and 5.5dBm LO signal. 1dB compression point of If signal, in respect to RF signal, was found at the 0dbm RF signal.
Design of resistive mixer for 5.8GHz Wireless LAN

In this paper, the resistive mixer for 5.86Hz wireless LAN, main part receiving system, was designed and implemented. The noise characteristics and the linearity in the base band was superior. For the use of local oscillator of mixer, dielectric resonator of stable output and temperature characteristics was designed. For the electrical tuning by the capacitance variation of varactor diode, the microstrip line and magnetic coupling characteristics of the dielectric resonance was used. It was obtained that gain of the proposed resistive mixer containing the RF cable loss, is -13.8dB, the conversion loss of frequency converter is -12 dB, and the output power of local oscillator is 1.67 dBm.
Coupling Efficiency of Optical Directional Coupler with Rib-Type

A rigorous modal transmission-line theory (MTLT) based on effective dielectric method (EDM) is introduced and developed for the design of optical directional couplers with rib-type. This approach provides a rigorous numerical algorithm that takes all the possible guided components into consideration, and thus may serve as an appropriate reference to access the accuracy of such simplified methods as effective index method (EIM) and perturbation theory. Consequently, to search the optical parameters for maximum power coupling of the optical couplers, we evaluate the operating wavelength, the interval S between rib guides and the thickness t of a cladding layer.
Subjective QoS Performance of MPEG-2 under Cell Loss and Cell Error Conditions

When providing MPEG-2 video service through the ATM network, the degradation of QoS caused by cell losses and cell errors occuring from ATM netwok was assessed by the end-users subjectively and then the relation between CLR, CER and subjective QoS of MPEG-2 video was analyzed. Cell losses and cell errors occuring from the ATM network were generated according to the normal and exponential distribution by NEM module. Video sources were divided into sports and drama by moving feature and were tested. An Automatic Diagnosis Methods for Impact Location Estimation

In this paper, a real time diagnostic algorithm for estimating the impact location by loose parts is proposed. It is composed of two modules such as the alarm discrimination module (ADM) and the impact-location estimation module(IEM). First, ADM decides whether the detected signal that triggers the alarm is the impact signal by loose parts or the noise signal. Second, IEM by use of the arrival time method estimates the impact location of loose parts. In order to validate the application of this method, the test experiment with a mock-up (flat board and reactor) system is performed. The experimental results show the efficiency of this algorithm even under high level noise and potential application to Loose Part Monitoring System (LPMS) for improving diagnosis capability in nuclear power plants.
Bang-Bang plus PID Temperature Control Scheme for Rapid Thermal Processing

This paper describes the quick and precise control of the wafer temperature essential in rapid thermal processing(RTP). The bang-bang plus PID controller structure is introduced to satisfy rapid ramp-up rate and reduce overshoot and steady state error. The controller employs the PID action when the magnitude of the error between reference signal and the output temperature signal is smaller than some prescribed value. To find PID gains, the plant(autoregressive) model is first identified and Kappa-Tau tuning rule is used. The developed controller is applied to experimental RTP apparatus, and performances are evaluated.
The Extraction Method of LDD NMOSFET's Metallurgical Gate Channel Length

A capacitance method to extract the metallurgical channel length of LDD MOSFET's, which is defined by the length between the metallurgical junction of substrate and source/drain under the gate, is presented. The gate capacitances of the finger type and plate type LDD MOSFET gate test patterns with same total gate area are measured. The gate bias of each pattern is changed, and the capacitances are measured with source, drain, and substrate bias grounded. The differences between two test pattern's capacitance data are plotted. The metallurgical channel length is extracted from the peak data at a maximum point using a simple formula. The numerical simulation using two-dimensional device simulator is performed to verify the proposed method.
A Study of Jitter Reduction for SDH Transmission System using Sigma-Delta Modulation

The SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) has been rapidly acknowledged as a world wide transmission standard replacing the existing PDH infrastructure. A bit stuffing is used for synchronization between a PDH signal and a SDH node, and a pointer justification is used for synchronization between one SDH node and the other SDH node. During above processes - a bit stuffing and a pointer processing -, a stuffing jitter and a pointer Jitter are produced and the generated jitter can cause transmission error. In this study, a stuffing jitter and a pointer jitter are modeled and analyzed. A Sigma-Delta modulation is described and an advanced jitter reduction technique using a Sigma-Delta modulation technique in the Synchronizer, Pointer Processor and Desynchronizer is provided.
Spectral Analysis of the Fiber Brags Grating Filter for the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing

When the current optical communication system is used for the DWDM, it raise the serious interference because an interval between the adjacent channels is narrow. The FBG filter for the DWDM is able to reduce the interferences between the adjacent channels. In this paper, therefore, we find the reflection spectrums for the three types of induced index changes, that is, uniform, Gaussian apodized, and raised-cosine apodized. From the obtained results in this paper, we can see that uniform FBG does not fit, and that the smaller the maximum induced index change
is and the larger the value of parameter C in the raised-cosine apodized FBG and G in the Gaussian apodized FBG are, the fitter they are on the narrow filter for DWDM. But, we can also see that the raised-cosine apodized FBG has more excellent property than the Gaussian apodized FBG because it has the narrower maximum reflection spectrum band and the lower sidelobes than the other.
Study on MC-CDMA Using Two-fold Orthogonal Frequency Overlap

If signal time duration of MC-CDMA method which has studied for next-generation high-speed data transmission is not sufficiently large compared to delay spread of channel, the performance is degraded by generation of intersymbol interference. In this paper, this problem will solve through serial to parallel convertor and make large sufficiently time duration of signal compared to delay spread of channel and rise variable spectral efficiency through the number of serial to parallel convertor subchannel we will add to parallel frequency diversity block for improve the performance in mobile Communication. Spectral efficiency of the proposed system is counted and compared to spectral efficiency of MC-CDMA and investigated through computer simulations by using multipath Rayleigh fading channel.
A New Register Transfer Level Synthesis Method for ASIC Design

This paper presents a new register transfer level synthesis method to overcome the disadvantages of the previous register transfer level synthesis systems. The previous register transfer level synthesis systems first translate from a hardware description language to sequential circuits inadequately. Secondly, the systems separate registers and combinational circuits and then optimize only combinational circuits. This paper describes their disadvantages and then proposes a new method to overcome their shortcomings. This paper also shows the effectiveness of the proposed method by using the proposed method at designing the controller of a surveillance system and the 8-bit signed multiplier.
