Performance Analysis of Control Algorithm for Construction Scheme of Converged LAN

Converged LAN accepts diverse traffics so that performance analysis is very important for successful development of converged LAN. In this paper, we develop simulation program using SALM II and simulate queue management scheme and scheduling algorithm for converged LAN. The result of simulation shows the effect of performance for cyclic service algorithm larger than priority algorithm using weight. And queue management can be easy by implementation of Back Pressure scheme.
Iris Recognition Using a Modified CPN

The purpose of this work is to develop a system fer rapid and automatic identification of persons, with high reliability and confidence levels. The iris of the eye is used as an optical fingerprint, having a highly detailed pattern that is unique for each individual and stable over many years. Image analysis algorithms find the iris in a image, and encode its texture into an iris code. Iris texture is extracted from the image at multiple scales of analysis by wavelet transformation. The features of many different parts of the iris are projected onto the space-frequency space. They are used to determine an abstract iris code which is similar to 2D barcode. Pattern recognition is achieved by using modified CPN.
All Digital DLL with Three Phase Tuning Stages

This paper describes a high resolution DLL(Delay Locked Loop) using all digital circuits. The proposed architecture is based on the three stage of coarse, fine and ultra fine phase tuning block which has a phase detector, selection block and delay line respectively. The first stage, the ultra fine phase tuning block, is tune to accomplish high resolution using a vernier delay line. The second and third stage, the coarse and fine tuning block, are tuning the phase margin of Unit Delay using the delay line and are similar to each other. It was simulated in 0.35um CMOS technology under 3.3V supply using HSPICE simulator. The simulation result shows the phase resolution can be down to lops with the operating range of 250MHz to 800MHz.
A Study on the Modified Construction Method far Sasaki Fuzzy Controller

In this paper, we proposed a new circuit construction method that reduces the number of circuit devices of fuzzy controller. Sasaki had defined a new operator to eliminate the divide circuit comparing with the center of gravity method which often using to design the fuzzy controller. In this paper we obtained the more compacted fuzzy controller's circuit by using the proposed definition of fuzzification and defuzzification than using the Sasaki's method and the fuzzification and defuzzification are reverse operation each other. Using these definitions we exhibit the new design method and circuit structure that can eliminate the bounded product(BP) circuit included in Sasaki's circuit. Using the proposed method to level controlling of the water tank, we verified the fuzzy controller's performance by using existent method and proposed method. As a result that are calculated by using the Proposed fuzzy controller to level controlling of the water tank, total numbers of blocks and devices were decreased. If the number of variables and antecedents are Be11ing larger, this method is more efficient.
Design and Fabrication of Circularly Polarization Antenna for Electronic Toll Collection System

In this paper, a microstrip array antenna is designed, fabricated and measured for ETCS(Electronic Toll Collection System). To reduce effect of external propagation environment, we use edge-cuffed element and to obtain wider axial ratio and increased bandwidth, we use the sequential rotation array method. Also to fulfill ETCS, roadside equipment are designed to be provide a radiation pattern which can accurately pinpoint the designated communication area without interference of another lanes. And we make and apply an absorber to the array antenna to reduce SLL(Side Lobe Level). From the measurement, we get that return-loss at center frequency is -20.675dB, axial ratio is 0.35dB and the gain is 20.26dBi. And we found that SLL is reduced.
An Interface Automatic System on the Control Board using Hardware/Software Co-Design

This paper manufacturing one system and use this separatively, plan, and embody system that apply integration design method in research about characteristic of internal core of 8051 micro-processors and system reusability so that can use as module of other system. The proposed system itself by object style so that reusability may be possible in proposed method and object style for connection between this systems is required. Set on these request and when systems have own information and were linked with other systems, by supplying own information automatic movement itself is realized and system itself embodies ashes so that can be applied to other system. The proposed method in this paper analyzes and compares with existent Z-80 education board, as well as system that propose offers extensibility, it handles most function to software and development period, expense and baud dimension confirmed advantage of and so on that reduce. Also, design for object style system architecture and showed feature that extensibility and portability are augmented.
Segmentation and Tracking Algorithm for Moving Speaker in the Video Conference Image

In this paper, we propose the algorithm for segmenting the moving speaker and tracking its movement in the video conference image. For real time processing, we simplify the algorithm which is processed in the order of the segmenting and the tracking step. In the segmenting step, the speaker object is segmented from the image by using both the motion information obtained from the difference method and the illuminance information of image. The reference mask image is created from segmented speaker object. In the tracking step, the moving speaker is tracked by using simple block matching algorithm of which computation time is reduced by discarding the blocks which are classified into the unuseful blocks. In the simulation, we can get the good result of segmenting and tracking the moving speaker by applying the proposed algorithm to several test images.
Evaluation of Bluetooth Wireless Communication Method Applied to Medical Environment

In this study, we evaluate the reliability of using bluetooth wireless communication method, the industrial, scientific, and medical standards for local wireless communications, in the medical environment. For the study, an ECG measurement system using bluetooth is developed and used in various conditions of medical environment. It is found that the bluetooth communication method has shown a reliable data transmission capability when both transmitter and receiver are positioned in the same room. However, the increase of transmission distance and the existence of a wall prevent the retailable data transmission. Therefore, it is necessary to make sure if reliable data transmission is achieved for individual environments, before we use this technology.
Face Detection using PCA-LDA and Color Information

This paper presents an efficient face detection algorithm for color images with a complex background. The presented algorithm utilizes the color information and eigenface that is calculated by PCA-LDA (Principle Component Analysis - Linear Discriminant Analysis). The method of using the color information is faster than any other methods. Eigenface includes average information of the whole test faces. Therefore eigenface can decide that the candidate region is a face. The whole process is composed of two steps. First, it finds first face candidates region of skin tone using a color information in image. We can get a size and position of face candidate region. Second, we compare first face candidate region with eigenface, so decide that an image whether include a face or not. The advantages of the proposed approach include that increasing the detection speed by deciding a size and position of first face candidates region. Also, Betting 97% of the detection rate by comparing the eigenfaces calculated in PCA-LDA.
Parallel 2D-DWT Hardware Architecture for Image Compression Using the Lifting Scheme

This paper presents a fast hardware architecture to implement a 2-D DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform) computed by lifting scheme framework. The conventional 2-D DWT hardware architecture has problem in internal memory, hardware resource, and latency. The proposed architecture was based on the 4-way partitioned data set. This architecture is configured with a pipelining parallel architecture for 4-way partitioning method. Due to the use of this architecture, total latency was improved by 50%, and memory size was reduced by using lifting scheme.
A Study on Adbanced Load Balancing for Hypercube distributed System

In this paper, an advanced load balancing algorithm in nth order Hypercube distributed system has been proposed. The new algorithm uses centralized load-balancing to avoid blocking phenomenon and processor thrashing, and shows the results which makes loads to approach average value of loads. The new algorithm is compared with several other algorithm and it shows a merit in cost function value.
A Simple Block-based Motion Estimation Algorithm for Discontinuity Blocks

In this paper, we propose a motion estimation algorithm for the discontinuity blocks. The algorithm uses sub-SAD value (i.e. the sum of absolute difference for a quarter of a block) to identify the discontinuity region, and produces additional motion vectors for these sub-blocks if necessary. We show with experimental results that, in comparison with some conventional motion estimation algorithms, the proposed algorithm achieves quality enhancement for the sequences with discontinuity blocks, and also shows the same computational quantity as to normal algorithms for sequences with less discontinuity.
Fault Detection and Diagnosis of Dynamic Systems with Colored Measurement Noise

An effective scheme to detect and diagnose multiple failures in a dynamic system is described for the case where the measurement noise is correlated sequentially in time. It is based on the modified interacting multiple model (MIMM) estimation algorithm in which a generalized decorrelation process is developed by employing the autoregressive (AR) model for the colored noise and applying measurement difference method.
