An Exploratory Study on the Introduction of Loyalty to Segmentation of Theme Park Users

The purpose of this paper is twofold : to identify loyalty applicable to segmentation of theme park users and to find characteristics of the segments. Thetheme park was regarded as a product and Lotte World was regarded as a brand. One hundred thirty five college students were selected by nonprobability sampling for two waves thirty of data collection. Both behavioral and attitudinal dimension of loyalty were measured in the first wave by the proportion of visit of the Lotte World to 3 major theme parks for one year, including the Lotte World, and by calculating the mean score of selected 7 attitudinal items, respectively. After 14 weeks, the same respondents were asked the number of actual visits of the Lotte World. Medians of two dimensions and cluster analyses were utilized to classify the respondents into 4 categories : high, spurious, latent, and low loyalty. Then ANOVA and $
^2$ test of independence were conducted to find the difference in intention to visit the Lotte World and actual visitation of it among groups. Only intention was significantly different by the group and the mean score of intention was highest in the high loyalty group. Although no statistical difference was found in actual visitation among groups, the theory of planned behavior provided a theoretical support to conclude that the loyalty is a useful variable for segmentation of theme park users because intention is an antecedent variable to the behavior. Discriminant analyses showed that characteristics of each loyalty group can be differentiated by motivations and constraints. When median was a group classification criterion, 73.2 percent of high loyalty group was correctly classified. A few comments were suggested on data collection, and inclusion of new discriminant variables was discussed for the future research.
Analysis Growth Characteristics of the Introduced Species Revegetated on the Highway Cut-slopes

This study was carried out from June 1996 to November 1997 to analyze the growth characteristics of the introduced species revegetated on highway cut-slopes. The number of revegetation measures type surveyed were fourteen such as seed-spraying measures, block-sod pitching measures, and hydro-seeding measures with seed-fertilizer-soil materials. The introduced species for revegetation measures were mostly Festuca arundinancea(cool season grass), Eragrostic curvula(warm season grass), Lolium perenne(cool season grass), Dactylis glomerata(cool season grass), Poa pratensia(cool season grass). The species diversity index of the upper part on highway cut-slopes were greater than that of the middle part and lower part. The growth of introduced species was good on north-facing cut-slope than the others and that was flourish in temperate north forest zone. Also, the introduced species seemed to decrease or disappear, while the ratio of native woody and herb species which were in mature stage seemed to increase.
A study on the building of An-ap pond and the customs of royal family during Shilla dynasty

According to the Samkuk Saki(History of Three Nations), An-ap pond was constructed in the 14th year of the reign of King Mun-
But this period precedes the unification of Shilla(in the 16th year the reign of king Mun-mu) and Shilla was at war. Therefore I suppose the 16th year of the King's reign is just the time of the commencement of the construction of the pond. But the real construction had not been started before the 16th year of the King's reign, after the unification of the three nations into Shilla Dynasty. Another record of making a larger pond(the 19th year of the reign of king Kyung-duk) may signify the enlargement of the very pond that had been built the 16th year of King Mun-mu's reign. Korean traditional belief was the belief in the Dragon, the Mountain God, and the Heavenly God and these was deeply rooted in the Royal family and perhaps had influenced the building of An-ap pond. Namely it is explained that Em-hae Jun sympolizes the An-ap pond itself as the sea and the Dragon lived in the sea and also the mountain built in the East bank of An-ap pond is related to the Mountain God. And also Taoism's Sin Sun Sa-Sang(Paradise philosophy) had influenced the building of the three legendary immortal islands, called Yong Ju, Bang-Jang, Bong-Rae in the An-ap pond. It is supposed that the age of An-ap pond from the above mentioned facts and inferences and we can also understand the influence of the Royal family customs on the building of An-ap pond. The inscriptions on the vessels and architectural accessories suggest us the influence of the Royal family customs on the construction of An-ap pond.
A Study on Development of Phragmites spp. Sod for Restoration of Shore Vegetation -Effects of Soil Compositions and Seeding rates on the Development of Phragmites japonica Sod-

Six soil compositions with three seeding rates were evaluated for influence on germination, coverage, height and sod development of Phragmites japonica. 1. Germination was high on peat, vermiculite and bark as compared with on peatmoss and sandy loam. 2. Covering rate was high within 2 months when seeded at 9g/
, but became same within 3 months afterwards when seeded at 3,6 and 9g/
, respectively. 3. Sod was highly developed on peat and bark treatments whereas Sandy loam, peatmoss and vermiculite treatments didn't develop sod. 4. Sod grown on bark weighed light and, therefore, was suggested best from a dealing cost point of view. 5. Cutting at 10 cm height didn't influence on sod development regardless of soil compositions.
A study of sight-psychological effects by a color area of greenspace

We compared the electroencephalogram, blood pressure, and sensory evaluation inspectioni several color of Petunia hybrida to analyze the physiopsychological effects of a plant. Considering occipital is related to visuosensory field, green color is thought as mild visual stimulator unlike to pink color. The results are coincident with the well-known facts that green color is less stimulating color. It is also accorded with the sensory evaluation results that green color showed te feeling of blue and stable. In case of green color is showed the feeling of blue and stable. In case of green color the generatioin of alpha waves increased according to the increase color area. Therefore it is thought that green color helps decrease of visual stimulation and increase in visual stability. However it is thought that pink has less physiopsychological effects on human beings depending on area sizes than green has.
A Study on pronunciationi in Scientific Names of Landscape Plants

The purpose of this paper is to analyzed of pronunciationi of botanical names of landscape plants. This study includes the plant that are possible to use as woody landscape material as well as both the native and foreign plants that are already used. Botanical name must be divided into syllables. Every latin word has as many syllables as it has separate vowels or diphthongs. The last syllables is never accentd. The next to the last syllables is called the penult, the third from the last syllables is called the antepenult. The pronuciationi of latinized commemorative names is here that the rules are most apt to be disregarded or ignored.
Analyzing and Forecating of Event Visitation :Applicaton of Bass'Model of Diffusion Process

The opening of an event in a given geographical area may be defined as an innovation. Visitors to the event adopt the innovation; therefore, their visitation patterns since the opening can be regarded as a diffusion process. Bass' model of diffusion process was applied to analyzing weekly visitation of Kwang-ju Viennale. Parameters of the Bass' model were estimated by regression analysis, and then reviewed in terms of applicability. Actual estimation of event visitation was implemented by calculation of the three parameters of the model based on the actual data. After comparing estimated value with actual value, it was concluded that Bass' model is applicable to estimating event visitation as far as it is the only prediction method available at this point.
A Conceptional Study on Establishment of Indicators for Analysis and Evaluation in the Environment of Urban Green Spaces

This research was conducted to suggest some directions for desirable urban green space planning through 1) establishing a new classification system by examining the existing concept, problems and characteristics of green space and 2) defining the essence of green space environment and finding some analytical and evaluative methods through a clear establishment of functions, indicators of green space. An analytical technique of green space, in which the coexistent relationship of human and other organisms was emphasized, was tried in order to realize urban green space planning. Based on the relevancy between green space and human being, green space was classified into green space for existence green space for utility, green space for both of existence and utility. The ratio of green covered, the ratio of greenery within the frame of vision, and the ratio of green volume in green space for existence was used as analytic and evaluative indicators.
Planting of Urban Environmental Forest and Community Planting Area

The purpose of this study was to propose the community planting method through analyzing the plant community structure of three green space types and the relationship of vegetation and wild bird inhabitation of urban environmental forest in Seoul, Korea. The results from this study showed that the vegetation stratification, coverage, and species diversity were closely related to the wild bird inhabitation. In addition, the environmental forest in study site was analyzed as a negative factor that may decrease the biodiversity. Therefore the ecological structure and environmental condition must be considered in order to improve the quality of environmental forest. Based on results in three green space types, the planting species, density and species size for proper community planting were proposed in this study. The ecological niche relationships among sixteen selected species were also presented. The results will be provided as an valueable output for the completed community planting of urban green space in the central region, Korea.
An Analysis of Weekend Farm Usage in Seoul

Interest in weekend farming has been increasing recently among city-dwellers although it is still only in the beginning stages. Weekend farming has been increasing recently among city-dwellers although it is still only in the beginning stages. Weekend farms provide people with new activities and also help to preserve green areas within the city. It is necessary to understand what weekend farm users think and what problems they encounter in order to increase the use of these farms. For this reason, we studied 16 weekend farms in Seoul managed by the Rural Guidance Office and the Agricultural Cooperative. We distributed 24 questionnaires by hand and these were later returned by mail. The questionnaire asked weekend farmers about their motivation for using the farms, about their motivation for using the farms, frequency of use, level of satisfaction, current state of housing and the sort of plants they cultivated, among other things. We found that most of them live in apartments and have little access to green areas,. Weekend farm users were generally satisfied. However, they had a lack of gardening knowledge and reported that facilities such as toilets and water service were unsatisfactory. Political support is needed from the government in order to improve weekend farms. There needs to be a wider range of farm sizes and an increase in the uses of the farms. If these improvements occur, investment in and the development of weekend farming will increase and weekend farms will take root in Korea.
A Study on the Evaluation of Pro-environmental Potential of Streams in Sunchon City

This study aims to evaluate the potential of pro-environmental application(PEP) in streams conceptualized ecological conservation and recreational use to be in harmony with. The main content of research are to clarify the PEP, to establish the evaluation model, and to evaluate 3 streams(Dongchon, Seokhyunchon, Okchon) in Sunchon city. Researchers introduced 12 evaluation items(water quality, water quantity, vegetation-water area, vegetation conservation, streamscape, neighborhood landscape, stream width, optimum area, nearby landuse, facility in stream, distance from user, obstacle to acces) by 5 scales to evaluate the characteristics of natural and artificial factors in stream area and nearby area. Also to decide the weight of items, researchers surveyed the opinion of 22 landscape architects experienced stream-plan through delphi method. Lastly the pro-environmental potential on streams were calculated by the ecological potential and recreational potential indices to be standardized and indicidual sections in streams were divided 5 grades on the basis of PEP. The result of this study are as follows; 1) The evaluation model of PEP was constructed by 4 steps, such as the decision of weight, the measurement of scale, the calculation of potential indices, the gradation of individual sections in streams. 2) The ecological potential were highly influenced by natural factor such as water quality, vegetation conservation, vegetation-water area, but on the other hand the recreational potential were influenced by optimum area, distance from user, water quantity, obstacle to access. 3) The factors such as vegetation conservation, optimum area, nearby landuse, distance from user were function as discernment factors to evaluate relatively ecological and recreational potential. and water quality, water quantity, vegetation -water area, neighborhood landscape were acted as important items to decide PEP.
