Development of Road Information System Using Digital Photogrammetry
Seo, Dong-Ju ; Lee, Jong-Chool ;
Journal of Korean Society for Geospatial Information System, volume 11, issue 4, 2003, Pages 3~11
Lately, digital photogrammetry based on the principles of photographic suey has been more and more applied to various high-tech industries and becomes one of more interesting focuses of study than ever. Thus, this study aims to develop a roadway information system by means of digital photogrammetry. Data acquired from digital photogrammetry were processed via Delphi, an object-oriented programming language to develop a computer aided program that allows us to build up the information on road horizontal alignment(BC, EC, R. IP), road vertical alignment and road facilities. And the developed program could maximize the visual effects better than traditional programs, because it used many image data.
Three-Dimensional Analysis of Cultural Heritages Using Non-Metric Digital Video Camera
Jang, Ho-Sik ; Seo, Dong-Su ; Lee, Jong-Chool ;
Journal of Korean Society for Geospatial Information System, volume 11, issue 4, 2003, Pages 13~19
This paper Non-metric digital video camera against subject of study, stone cultural heritages such as stone pagodas. Non-metric digital video camera can perform functions that metric or quasi-metric camera cm not. Thus we could easily acquire still-images which are for analyzing from moving picture part. When we analyze a location of cultural heritages using a Non-metric digital video camera, we could get a accuracy from 2mm to 4mm. Finally, it can be said that study also suggests the efficient measurement when planning to restore prototype of cultural heritages in the future and providing specific three-dimensional information on them.
RPC Model Generation from the Physical Sensor Model
Kim, Hye-Jin ; Kim, Jae-Bin ; Kim, Yong-Il ;
Journal of Korean Society for Geospatial Information System, volume 11, issue 4, 2003, Pages 21~27
The rational polynomial coefficients(RPC) model is a generalized sensor model that is used as an alternative for the physical sensor model for IKONOS-2 and QuickBird. As the number of sensors increases along with greater complexity, and as the need for standard sensor model has become important, the applicability of the RPC model is also increasing. The RPC model can be substituted for all sensor models, such as the projective camera the linear pushbroom sensor and the SAR This paper is aimed at generating a RPC model from the physical sensor model of the KOMPSAT-1(Korean Multi-Purpose Satellite) and aerial photography. The KOMPSAT-1 collects
panchromatic images with a ground sample distance (GSD) of 6.6m and a swath width of 17 km by pushbroom scanning. We generated the RPC from a physical sensor model of KOMPSAT-1 and aerial photography. The iterative least square solution based on Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is used to estimate the RPC. In addition, data normalization and regularization are applied to improve the accuracy and minimize noise. And the accuracy of the test was evaluated based on the 2-D image coordinates. From this test, we were able to find that the RPC model is suitable for both KOMPSAT-1 and aerial photography.
A Study on the Establishment of Price Policy for a Geographical Information Activated Circulation
Shin, Dong-Bin ; Hong, Sang-Ki ; Ahn, Jong-Wook ;
Journal of Korean Society for Geospatial Information System, volume 11, issue 4, 2003, Pages 29~34
The purpose of this study is to present the price computation criteria with the aspect of price policy for the geographical information circulation. The price policy is to make activated circulation for geographical information. The price policy of this research considered the supplier and the user side at the same time. Important issue of price policy is that initial cost for system development calculate burying cost, and preservation and renewal cost charge to user. Distribution cost of geographical information charge to user according to use media, and apply differential rates of cost according to the purpose of using, up-to-dateness of data. Also, present the price policy that must apply copyright fee to of offer geographical information. Consider various terms that was studied in this study, the price computation criteria was presented. Through this, it is expected that geographical information circulation is activated more.

Journal of Korean Society for Geospatial Information System, volume 11, issue 4, 2003, Pages 35~43
Currently, the government has been driving numerous projects to build the e-government which can enable limitless access and utilization of the information through the accomplishment of the real time based various administrative services. In water resource field, a project to generate digital river thematic maps has been undergoing as a part of the computerization projects. As a partial results, the RIMGIS project has been completed and generation of the various river thematic maps has been required to fully utilize the DB built from RIMGIS project. For the effective generation of the thematic maps, a data model needs to be developed. A data model has been developed in this study to provide more efficient method to generate the thematic maps utilizing existing DB. The data model proposed from this study has defined the relationships between core feature data and framework Data along with relationships among data elements to represent the rivers in the real world more accurately. The core feature data and framework layers have been defined based on the survey of the domestic and foreign case studies along with requirement analysis of the users in the water resource field. The proposed core feature data has been defined based on the minimum unit of 'class', and the relationship between classes has been established based on the ArcGIS Hydro Data Model for the integrated processing of the river information. The proposed spatial data model can be judged to contribute establishing more efficient generation methodology of the river thematic maps.
Extraction of Building and Road Facility Information System Using Graphic Solution
Sohn, Duk-Jae ; Lee, Seung-Hwan ;
Journal of Korean Society for Geospatial Information System, volume 11, issue 4, 2003, Pages 45~51
This study intended to extract the spatial data and attribute data from the images of terrestrial photographs to compile the digital map from the images using photogrammetric analysis. In this study, the plane map of present objective area was made using the single terrestial photographs and graphical method, and the spatial or attribute data for the facilities in the area was extracted. Also, it is concluded that the efficient techniques for acquiring spatial and attribute data of the building and road facilities in proper time for the concerning area were suggested.
The Improvement of the Road Facility Database Creation Using a Mobile GIS
Lee, Hyun-Jik ; Kim, Hyun-Tae ;
Journal of Korean Society for Geospatial Information System, volume 11, issue 4, 2003, Pages 53~60
GIS was introduced to spatial information of complex and various facility systematically and scientifically. And, recently, new trend has been spread by Mobile GIS owing to its fast development of information and communication technology. However, these Mobile GIS techniques were introduced in maintenances of various facilities. Due to its mismanagement, the use became insufficient in facilities causing database creation to require realism and mobility. Therefore, in this research to road facility of various facilities, it deduced improving the work process by using a Mobile GIS to analyze work process of the road facility database creation. And, through an experiment, by comparing and analyzing road facilities database creation process by existing method and improving method, could improvement of road facility database creation using a Mobile GIS.
