The Prediction of Hazard Area Using Raster Model

GSIS(geo-spatial information system), particularly when utilized in hazard management decision, is one of hazard analysis tool. Data of GSIS input from digitizing or scanning of map or aerial photos. This paper focuses upon the hazard prediction in GSIS and RS analysis to assess map, aerialphotos, satellite imagery and soil map. This study found computation of hazard area analysis. the results is formed as raster data model of quadtree. Authors knew more accurate results of overlay. This paper shows building up integrated data base as well as search of hazard area in aerial photographs.
The Generation of Database for Cultural Assets Restitution using Geo-Spatial Information System

In this study, we have acquired the related data of the important culture assets in this country by using close range photogrammetry and GSIS. Also, we have generated database of curtural assets and we have been developing culture assets information system to manage the data effectively. As result of this study, we could facilely operate this system by converting dulistic management to unitary. Therefore, we will act of a part of rearing for effect of many important cultural properties and the domestic information industry from this study.
The Utilization of Photo Balloon System to GSIS Construction for Build-up a Group of Villages

Recently, the rapid economic growth has caused urban problems due to the increase of urban population and the rapid expansion as a result of exodus phenomenon in rural territories. In order to solve the problems, we need to perform rational and effective plans for national land development. Generally, we need speedy and accurate topographical information of the object area to go ahead with balanced national land development. Acquisition method for topographical data include utilization of existing geographic information such as national base maps and related thematic maps and grasping of accurate present condition of object area using aerial photographies or satellite images. When the object area is small, existing methods for acquiring topographical information reveals imitations in accuracy, speed and economic aspect. Therefore, development of a new method is in order. As a result of this study, we recogized that Photo Balloon System to be manufactured and digital ortho-map to be generated could be used to obtain a topographical information for small areas.
Minimizing Position Error in a Car Navigation System by fusing GPS and Dead-Reckoning

The CNS(Car Navigation System) is used more generally in driver aid system than ALV(Auto nomous Land Vehicle) research area. In this paper we developed a new position tracking algorithm for the Global Path Planning in the CNS. In japan, CNS is already well developed and, thesedays they sell CNS products about
thousands per year, and USA and European Communications(EC), too. In Korea, studies of the first generation CNS, which finds current location of a navigating vehicle and displays its location in a Digital-Map with real-time are progressing but still in the beginning step. Therefore a new position tracking algorithm is presented, which reduces vehicle position error dramatically by fusing GPS and dead-reckoning sensors. And the validity of our algorithm is demonstrated by the experimental results with the real car.
A Study on Digital Road Map for Vehicle Navigation(I)

Digital road map - which plays an essential role in giving accurate location of the vehicle, optimum route guidance, destination searching, and topographic feature query functions - is the most fundamental element of the vehicle navigation system. Unfortunately, there is not a nation-wide digital map in Korea such as U.S. TIGER fie, that is easily applied to digital road database production. Therefore, producing new digital road map is inevitable in Korea For establishing digital road map for vehicle navigation, this paper puts forth the necessary condition to stabilize the digital road map qualify, and to keep up the compatibility and the economical use. As a result, the standards of coordinate and map accuracy arc presented, and the Items and the structures of database arc decided.
A study on the 3D Terrain Modelling Technique based on DEM data

In this thesis, we propose the 3D terrain modelling method for the better understanding of the geographic information. The process of 3D terrain medelling consists of three steps. The first step is to obtain real-world data from satellite images and stored in the form of DEM(Digital Elevation Model). The second one is to extract the meaningful data from DEM data based on LOD(Level Of Detail). And the third is to construct the 3D surface by TIN(Triangulated Irregular Network) with the extracted meaingful data. The proposed dynamic TIN reconstruction algorithm locally reconstruct the existed TIN model with the additional a new point. In this way, we can construct the TIN with the reduced time and can simulated 3D terrain model in real time.

This paper aims at inspecting the reliability of GPS data, changing WGS 84 data into the longitude coordinates system after surveying a small number of geodetic survey or cadastre triangulation point and supplementry control point around the Kwang-Ju area, and grasping the several problems posed by introducing GPS to the cadastue or the general triangulation surveying from this time.
GPS Surveying for Intersection Improvements

The original concept of GPS is the feature of instantaneous navigation which is the determination of the position of a moving vehicle(ie, a ship, a car, an air craft) by unsmoothed code pseudoranges. The objective of study is compare the efficiency (or time, accuracy) between GPS surveying by using kinematic method and conventional surveying methods in the intersection, and then suggest research materials for actual application.
A STUDY ON THE ANALYSIS OF DIGITAL AERIAL PHOTO USING IMAGE SEGMENTATION

Generally, there are two methods which generates the base map of Geo-Spatial Information System(GSIS). one is the digitizing of existing map, and the other is the analytical plotting method editing data acquired by sensors using computers. But the analytical plotting method and method of the digitizing of existing map is technically complex and has the disadvantages in the costs and time. The subject region of study(the Kwangyang province), was photographed by aircraft, and photographing scale was 1/6,000. Then this area was divided into two specific regions, the residential area, and the agricultural area. In this study, we developed the algorithm that generated base map of database in GSIS from the aerial photo. This algorithm is as followed. First, the digital aerial photos were generated using these aerial photos. Second, these digital aerial photos were enhanced by implementing the histogram equalization. Third, the objects of the enhanced images were extracted by implementing thresholding and edged detection techiques of image segmentation. Finally, these images could be used to updated the base map of database in GSIS. The result obtained from this study showed that method used by this study were more efficient than existing method in costs and time.
A study on the Bessel geoidal height to improve the accuracy of coordinate transformation

3-D coordinates that result form GPS survey are not applied directly in korea because they are based on WGS 84 ellipsoid. Thus they must be transformed into longitude, latitude on the Bessel ellipsoid and orthometric height. Transformation parameters must be determined in order to perform the coordinate transformation. Also, coordinate transformation be preformed on longitude, latitude and ellipsoidal height. First estimation of Bessel geoidal height must be accomplished to acquire Bessel ellipsoidal height This paper suggests accuracy of coordinate transformation according to the estimation method of Bessel geoidal height. Also, This paper suggests that Bessel geoidal height have influence on the coordinates transformation
