Analysis of Leaky Modes on Circular Dielectric Rods using Davidenko을s Method

Leaky modes on a circular dielectric rod are investigated from the precisely determined normalized complex propagation constants using Davidenko's complex root finding technique. Below the cutoff frequency of the guided mode, distinct frequency regions that have unique properties are observed, such as nonphysical region, antenna mode region, reactive mode region, and spectral gap region.
Decision of Optimum Turn Step Resolution for Extraction of the Spurious Radiation in Gigahertz Band

In this paper, suitablility of 1 GHz CISPR limits establishment fur broadcast communication quality protection is examined and the optimum turn step resolution of EUT for spurious measurement of frequency above 1 GHz to increase the accuracy of maximum values extraction is examined. As a result of 500 MHz and 1.7 GHz clock speed personal computer of micro-processor measurement, optimum turn step resolution extracted by National Institution of National Instrument of Standard & Technology(NIST) Koepke method is estimated 40 table positions per polarization in 500 MHz. And in case of 1.7 GHz, step size is 36 table positions. Prediction of turn step size required for fully scan method in gjgahertz measurement will increase measurement accuracy and reduce considerable measurement time as well.
The Design of LTCC MLC Bandpass Filters using λ/4 Hair-pin Resonators

In this paper, a λ/4 hair-pin resonator is proposed to reduce the size of resonators. A LTCC MLC bandpass filter is designed using the λ/4 hair-pin resonators. The electromagnetic coupling structure between two planar resonators is analysed. The equivalent circuit is derived to explain the behavior of the LTCC MLC bandpass filter using λ/4 hair-pin resonators. A design procedure is also described. The simulated and measured results of 1.8 GHz band 2-pole bandpass filter are presented.
Design of Hairpin-Comb Bandpass Filter using Ground Aperture

This paper presents hairpin-comb bandpass filter using ground aperture. Hairpin-comb resonator maintains the weak coupling though the space between two resonators is very small. This has the good merit that the entire filter size is small for narrowband bandpass filter. The coupling between two hairpin-comb resonators so very weak that can't be applicable to general microstrip. We compensate the coupling by using ground aperture. It makes the hairpin-comb filter possible that can be applicable to general microstrip. Also it has the good merit which adjusts the bandwidth by changing the size of aperture without changing the space. In this paper, we fabricate the bandpass filter, which has 1.78 GHz center frequency and 62 MHz (3.5%) fractional bandwidth.
Fast Algorithm for the Capacitance Extraction of Large Three Dimensional Object

This paper describes to extend the fast algorithm fur the capacitance extraction of large three-dimensional object. The triangular meshes are used and refined adaptively in the area where the heavy charges reside in each iterative solving. This technique is applied to the capacitance extraction of a 68-pin cerquad package. The results show fast convergence, and this adaptive technique coupled with the fast algorithm is efficient to reduce the number of elements and computing time with least additional computational efforts in large three dimensional problems.
A Study on Analysis of ITU-R Radiowave Propagation Algorithms for Engineering Analysis Function Improvement of Radio-Frequency Management System

Radio frequency management system(RFMS) is being operated to facilitate national spectrum management and monitoring in Korea. To improve the engineering analysis function in RFMS, criteria for the automated selection of the propagation model adequate to the radio station service environment considered are proposed. Those criteria are derived from the specified parameters obtained through the analysis of related ITU-R propagation & diffraction loss models which are to be used in RFMS. Then, using criteria acquired, computer program is made to achieve the automated selection of the most appropriate propagation algorithm, among the ones provided in RFMS, to the environment in which the engineering analysis is required. Furthermore, an illustrative example is shown with the proposals fur increasing the efficiency of the engineering analysis in RFMS.
Study on Millimeter Wave Power Amp Employing PBG

In this paper, We designed the millimeter wave power amplifier employing PBG. The amplifier has the bandwidth from 24.6 GHz to 24.75 GHz. For improvement of the Linearity and the PAE of the amplifier, PBG was designed to suppress the 2nd harmonic of the Amplifer. The Proposed PBG have smaller area and better rejection characteristic than conventional PBG structure. The fabricated PBG shows 35 dB or more of rejection characteristic at the 2nd harmonic band of the amplifier. The amplifier has balanced structure having lange coupler which means better input
output return loss and higher output power.
A Dual-Band Compact Folded Patch Antenna

In this paper we proposed a novel dual-band compact folded patch antenna with the same linear polarizations and high isolation characteristic between the two frequency range. The antenna is loaded with a high permittivity dielectric material in order to reduce the antenna size and open circuit stubs are used in order to broaden the bandwidth. The fractional bandwidths of the optimized antenna with demensions 4 mm
5 mm are 3.0 % at 5.6 GHz band and 2.8 % at 5.8 GHz band, respectively. The isolation characteristic between the two ports is less than -26 dB within the operating frequency range.
Emissive Electromagnetic Field Measurement and Analysis for High Speed PLC on Medium Voltage Power-Line Channel

This paper shows the results of emissive electromagnetic field characteristics on medium voltage power line(22.9 kV). The measurements were taken when communications signals were coupled into the 22.9 kV main wire of medium voltage power-line in a frequency range of 9 kHz to 30 MHz. The results of the measurement are as follows-emissive electromagnetic Held characteristics from multi carrier signals were superior to a single carrier signal. And we confirmed the PLC transmission distance was 1.8 km when multi-carrier transmission power was 20 dBm. Electric field strength was under the 40 dBuV/m at 30 MHz when 10 m method was measured.
The Design of Beam Forming Module for Active Phased Array Antenna System

This paper is concerned with the design of the beam forming module that is a key unit of the active phased array antenna(APAA) system for mobile satellite communications. This module includes two blocks for main signal and tracking signal. Main signal block has the role of transmitting input signal from phased array antenna to tracking signal block. And, tracking signal block executes main roles, beam forming of tracking signal and electronic beam control. The several electrical performances of this module, phase characteristics and linear gain, etc., agreed with specifications needed fur APAA, and for more clear verification of the performances, the satellite communication test of the APAA including the modules was accomplished in the outdoors.
Development of a Receiver Downconverter Module for Ka-band Satellite Payload

This paper describes the design and the test results of the receiver-downconverter module for a Ka-band Satellite Payload. The developed module is not only a downconverter that convert the signal of 30.6 GHz∼31.0 GHz to the signal of 20.8 GHz∼21.2 GHz but also is a receiver that has the function of low noise amplification in the front stage. It has been fabricated and tested by the qualified satellite component manufacturing process and it shows the best performance of the receiver-downconverter modules operating at Ka-band frequency up to date. The module has the performance of 1.9 dB-NF, 55 dB-Gain, and 58 dBc-C/I3 fur the two tone signals of -59 dBm input power respectively at ambient temperature. It is a small and light module with the size of 93 mm
26 mm and the weight of 240 g.
Printed Annular Ring Slot Antenna for Circular Polarization

This paper presents novel compact circularly polarized(CP) operation of a annular ring slot antenna with a 45
truncated in the patch and a cross-slot of unequal slot lengths. A simple configuration based on a cross-slot of unequal slot lengths on the annular ring patch is adopted to realize a small-size element antenna and used a proximity coupled feed method. Experimental results show that much wider impedance bandwidth of 7.74 % and axial ratio bandwidth of 1.9 % in GPS band(1.5 GHz).
Design and Fabrication of 24 GHz 3-Beam Scan Antennas for ACC Applications
