test volume have been sampled to obtain a standard deviation and field uniformity. Results show that the standard deviation of the calculated field and uniformity have been improved by varying angles and orientation of the inclined surfaces of the QRDs installed inside the reverberation chamber.
Research on PAE and Linearity of Power Amplifier Using EER and PBG Structure

In this paper, the efficiency of power amplifier has been maximized by the application of EER structure, and the linearity has been improved by using PBG structure. This paper has proposed a design of power amplifier in class-F to get the PAE, and to control dynamic power using envelope detector. PBG structure gets high-linearity by removing harmonics arisen from the mismatching of matching circuit. The PAE and the 3rd order IMD have been improved 34.64%, 6.65 dB compared with those of conventional Doherty amplifier, respectively.
Miniaturization of Circular Loop Antenna Using Meander Line for RFID Tag Applications

In this paper, the miniaturized radio frequency identification(RFID) tag antennas used in UHF band
are designed and fabricated by using the circular loop antenna(CLA). Miniaturization of CLA was possible to transform the structure of circular loop into the structure of meander line. In the case of double meander line CLA is reduced up to 83% compared with the general type CLA. The
, -10 dB bandwidth, and gain of double meander line CLA were -11.9 dB, 12 MHz(1.3%), and -1.18 dBd. Also, a small half-wavelength CLA using double meander line is designed and fabricated for flat snack bag coated aluminum. The antenna is reduced up to 92.1% except ground. It shows the
of -16.5 dB, -10 dB bandwidth of 48 MHz(5%) and gain of -0.58 dBd. The radiation pattern shows omni-directional pattern in z-y plane(x-axis pol.). Through this result, we can confirm that miniaturized type CLAs using meander lines are suitable for miniaturized RFIB tag antennas with the UHF band.

Based on the constructed model, characteristics on the forward link signal for the EPCglobal C1G2 RFID reader are simulated with the help of a MATLAB softwarein order to extract the design parameters of a transmit digital filter which meets the Korean RFID regulations. Herein, the forward link model is consisted of PIE source coding, transmit digital filter, modulation, local oscillator, and antenna. From the simulation results, the ranges of three design parameters(roll-off factor, cutoff frequency, the number of tabs) for transmit digital filter are obtained with different modulation techniques and the Tari(type a reference interval) values. Design of an Antenna Using Four-wires for EMI/EMC Experiment

In this paper, a Four-wired antenna was designed and manufactured using Four-wires in order to perform EMI/EMC experiments. As compared with a TEM cell, the feature of the Four-wired antenna has simple installment with broadband balun, a Four-wired antenna, and loading resistances in an anechoic chamber. And the E-field polarization of antenna can be easily changed. Without the limitation of space, EMI/EMC experimental environment could be built within the anechoic chamber with the moderate cost. In S, C, and X-bands, the manufactured antenna was able to make an experiment on EMI/EMC with the DUT which has the quiet zone of the height, width, length equal to about 10 cm.

beam steering capability. An H-sector hem antenna was designed to have
half-power beam width in the principal H-plane. The active reflection coefficient including mutual coupling was calculated using a waveguide simulator, and the active reflection characteristic was improved by mutual coupling over wide frequency range. Using these results, an
H-sector phased array antenna was fabricated. The measurement results for the half-power beam width in the principal H-plane and the active reflection coefficient showed a good agreement with the simulation results. The peak-value pattern in the steered radiation beams also agreed well with the active element pattern. The measured active reflection coefficients within the beam steering range are mostly less than 0.3 over the 3:1 frequency range.
An x-dB Bandwidth Measurement Method for Terrestrial Digital Broadcasting Signals in the Field Environments

The methods of bandwidth measurement in the field environments are notified in ITU-R spectrum monitoring(SM) documents. But, these methods for terrestrial DTV and T-DMB are not informed yet. The x-dB bandwidth is the most suitable method fer the bandwidth measurement of terrestrial digital broadcasting signals. So, we proposed the suitable x-dB value for x-dB bandwidth measurement of the digital broadcasting signal that is not notified in ITU-R SM documents. As a result, we derived the x dB value of -12 dB and -8 dB that can be used fer estimation of occupied bandwidth of DTV and T-DMB signals respectively by x dB bandwidth measurement in field environments.
A Band Pass Filter with Directly Coupled Feeding Structure Using K-Inverter

This paper proposed the novel method that can realize the parallel coupled line(PCL) band-pass filter with directly coupled feeding structure by means of transforming the first and last PCL sections of the conventional PCL band-pass filter into K-inverters, then substituting T-type equivalence for K-inverter. The proposed method supplies simple design formulae and can considerably reduce time and efforts needed to optimize filter performance when compared to reported methods using external Q or equivalent parameters. On the basis of the proposed method, the band-pass filter using directly coupled feeding structure and having 18% fractional bandwidth was designed and fabricated. The validity of proposed method was proven by the measured result.
Noise Reduction in an Inductively Coupled RFID System Using a Dual Coil Antenna

In this paper, we introduce a dual coil antenna which is useful for reducing the effects of radio frequency noise in an RFID system. A dual coil antenna is composed of two identical coils that are connected in series. The noise voltages in the two coils almost disappear when they are added because the magnitudes are equal and the polarities are opposite. The noise in an RFID reader with a dual coil antenna was 15 dB lower than that with a single coil antenna.
Analysis of E-polarized Plane Wave Scattering by a Tapered Resistive Strip Grating in a Grounded Double Dielectric Layer

In this paper, when a E-polarized plane wave is incident on the grating consisting of tapered resistive strips, electromagnetic scattering is analyzed using the method of moments(MoM). The induced current density of each resistive strip in a grounded double dielectric layer is expected to blow up at both edges. To satisfy this, the induced surface current density is expanded in a series of Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of Floquet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown current coefficients. According to the variation of the involving parameters such as strip width and spacing and angle of the incident field, numerical simulations are performed by applying the Fourier-Galerkin moment method. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power for resistive strips case for several resistivities are obtained.
Two Dimensional Explicit ID(Isotropic-Dispersion)-FDTD Scheme for Lossy Media

In this paper, the ID-FDTD scheme, proposed in Reference  and , is modified and completely analyzed. The modifications are composed of three parts: rigorous stability analysis, dispersion relation for linear lossy media, and new scaling factors for permittivity, permeability, and conductivity. As a result, it is shown that the proposed scheme has lower dispersion error in spite of larger time step than the conventional standard scheme of Reference . To validate the scheme, there are presented two scattering examples, which show excellent results.
Miniaturized Dual-Mode Microstrip Ring Resonator Using Open Stub for Bandpass Filter Applications

In this paper, the size of the dual-mode microstrip ring resonator is reduced by adding four open stubs, and bandpass filters having 100 MHz bandwidth are designed at the center frequency of 2 GHz. The size of the ring resonator can be controlled by varying the capacitance of the stubs, and the bandpass filter can be designed in two cases, which are two combinations of the stubs. Two bandpass filters are designed and fabricated by using the two-stage bandpass filter circuit model of the proposed structure, and the measured results show good agreement with the simulated results.
Closed-Form Time Domain Solutions for Multiconductor TEM Lines

Time domain closed-form analytical solutions to the coupled telegrapher`s equations for the voltage and current on a lossless multiconductor transmission line are presented. The resulting expressions are obtained in the form of exact time domain propagators operating on the line voltage and current. Time domain numerical methods are developed and examples showing exceptionally accurate results are obtained for uniform and nonuniform; symmetric and asymmetric strip lines.
