A Hybrid Multimedia Contents Recommendation Procedure for a New Item Problem in M-commerce

Currently the mobile web service is growing with a tremendous speed and mobile contents are spreading extensively. However, it is hard to search what the user wants because of some limitations of cellular phones. And the music is the most popular content, but many users experience frustrations to search their desired music. To solve these problems, this research proposes a hybrid recommendation system, MOBICORS-music (MOBIle COntents Recommender System for Music). Basically it follows the procedure of Collaborative Filtering (CF) system, but it uses Contents-Based (CB) data representation for neighborhood formation and recommendation of new music. Based on this data representation, MOBICORS-music solves the new item ramp-up problem and results better performance than existing CF systems. The procedure of MOBICORS-music is explained step by step with an illustrative example.
A Need-awaring Multi-agent Approach to Nomadic Community Computing for Ad Hoc Need Identification and Group Formation

Recently, community computing has been proposed for group formation and group decision-making. However, legacy community computing systems do not support group need identification for ad hoc group formation, which would be one of key features of ubiquitous decision support systems and services. Hence, this paper aims to provide a multi-agent based methodology to enable nomadic community computing which supports ad hoc need identification and group formation. Focusing on supporting group decision-making of relatively small sized multiple individual in a community, the methodology copes with the following three characteristics: (1) ad hoc group formation, (2) context-aware group need identification and (3) using mobile devices working in- and out-doors. NAMA-US, an RFID-based prototype system has been developed to show the feasibility of the idea proposed in this paper.
An Ontology-Driven Mapping Algorithm between Heterogeneous Product Classification Taxonomies

The Semantic Web and its related technologies have been opening the era of information sharing via the Web. There are, however, several huddles still to overcome in the new era, and one of the major huddles is the issue of information integration, unless a single unified and huge ontology could be built and used which could address everything in the world. Particularly in the e-business area, the problem of information integration is of a great concern for product search and comparison at various Internet shopping sites and e-marketplaces. To overcome this problem, we proposed an ontology-driven mapping algorithm between heterogeneous product classification and description frameworks. We also peformed a comparative evaluation of the proposed mapping algorithm against a well-Down ontology mapping tool, PROMPT.
Traveling Product Bundling on Web Service Composition in Ubiquitous Computing Environment

In this research, we are suggesting intelligent information system fur traveling which is focusing on product bundling and integration of information from various resources on ubiquitous computing environment. It is necessary for products structure to easily integrate according to customers' requirements because traveling product is integrated by various traveling resources like airline, hotel reservation, and so on. To guarantee of traveler's mobility in ubiquitous computing environment, we need product bundling and modification process to configure products and semantic web service which supports ontology based traveling information system to support immediate integrating of traveling information from various resources. In this research, we offer a product bundling and integration of information. It is based on the semantic web service, with several components (single products) to reconfigure a bundle of traveling products.
Development of an SWRL-based Backward Chaining Inference Engine SMART-B for the Next Generation Web

While the existing Web focuses on the interface with human users based on HTML, the next generation Web will focus on the interaction among software agents by using XML and XML-based standards and technologies. The inference engine, which will serve as brains of software agents in the next generation Web, should thoroughly understand the Semantic Web, the standard language of the next generation Web. As abasis for the service, the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) has recommended SWRL (Semantic Web Rule Language) which had been made by compounding OWL (Web Ontology Language) and RuleML (Rule Markup Language). In this research, we develop a backward chaining inference engine SMART-B (SeMantic web Agent Reasoning Tools -Backward chaining inference engine), which uses SWRL and OWL to represent rules and facts respectively. We analyze the requirements for the SWRL-based backward chaining inference and design analgorithm for the backward chaining inference which reflects the traditional backward chaining inference algorithm and the requirements of the next generation Semantic Web. We also implement the backward chaining inference engine and the administrative tools for fact and rule bases into Java components to insure the independence and portability among different platforms under the environment of Ubiquitous Computing.
Comparing Various Types of Stacking Methods Considering Relocations

When unit loads are stacked in multiple tiers, as the number of tiers increases, the space consumption per unit load decreases; at the same time, the number of relocations during retrieval operations increases. This study derives formulas fur estimating the expected number of relocations for retrieving a random unit load from various types of stacks with different combinations of the number of rows, the number of columns, and the number of tiers. Based on the derived formulas, the handling cost and the space cost of the different types of stacks are compared with each other.
Optimal Supply Chain formation using Agent Negotiation in SET Model based Make-To-Order

In an effect to composite an optimal supply chain, this study has introduced an agent-based negotiation as a method to assign a lot of orders to a large number of participants. As a resources allocation mechanism to form a strategic cooperation based on information sharing between supply chain members(buyers, manufacturers, suppliers), this agent negotiation provides coordination functions allowing all participants to make a profit and accomplishing Pareto optimum solution from the viewpoint of a whole supply chain. A SET model-based scheduling takes into consideration both earliness production cost and tardiness production cost, along with a competitive relationship between multiple participants. This study has tried to prove that the result of an agent-based negotiation is a Pareto optimal solution under the dynamic supply chain environment, establishing the mathematical formulation for a performance test, and making a comparison with the heuristic Branch & Bound method.
MOBIGSS: A Group Decision Support System in the Mobile Internet

The development of mobile applications is fast in recent years. However, nearly all applications are for messaging, financial, locating services based on simple interactions with mobile users because of the limited screen size, narrow network bandwidth, and low computing power. Processing an algorithm for supporting a group decision process on mobile devices becomes impossible. In this paper, we introduce the mobile-oriented simple interactive procedure for support a group decision making process. The interactive procedure is developed for multiple objective linear programming problems to help the group select a compromising solution in the mobile Internet environment. Our procedure lessens the burden of group decision makers, which is one of necessary conditions of the mobile environment. Only the partial weak order preferences of variables and objectives from group decision makers are enough for searching the best compromising solution. The methodology is designed to avoid any assumption about the shape or existence of the decision makers' utility function. For the purpose of the experimental study of the procedure, we developed a group decision support system in the mobile Internet environment, MOBIGSS and applied to an allocation problem of investor assets.
An Information Filtering System Using Cognitive Mapping

Information filtering systems, which are designed fur users' needs, do not satisfy user's diverse requests as their filtering accuracy is unstable sometimes. This study suggests an information filtering system based on cognitive brain mapping by simulating the processes of information in human brain. Compared to traditional filtering systems, which use specific words or pattern in their filtering systems, the method suggested in this article uses both key words and relationships among these words. The significance of this study is on simulating information storing processes in human brain by mapping both key words and their relationships among them together. To combine these two methods, this study finds balances in representing two methods by searching optimal weights of each of them.
Customer Churn Prediction of Automobile Insurance by Multiple Models

Since data mining attempts to find unknown facts or rules by dealing with also vaguely-known data sets, it always suffers from high error rate. In order to reduce the error rate, many researchers have employed multiple models in solving a problem. In this research, we present a new type of multiple models, called DyMoS, whose unique feature is that it classifies the input data and applies the different model developed appropriately for each class of data. In order to evaluate the performance of DyMoS, we applied it to a real customer churn problem of an automobile insurance company, The result shows that the DyMoS outperformed any model which employed only one data mining technique such as artificial neural network, decision tree and case-based reasoning.
