A Study on the Discharge Guide Technology by infrared Laser Applied to Discharge Processing Devices

In recent years, concern has been raised about the technique of controlling electrical breakdown by using laser in many fields. Especially, laser has attracted much attention in the Electro-Discharge Machining(EDM) because of its many rrents. 1berefore, this research has been perfonred to obtain fundarrental data for the discharge guide technology by a pulsed Nd:YAG laser which can be awJied to discharge processing machining. 1be experilnnts of laser-guided de discharge have been carried out at low air pressure ranging from 0.2 to 20 torr. Color Matching in Production of Tri-color Fluorescent Lamp Coated by Single and Double Layer

One of the IIDSt difficult problems in a tri-band fluorescent lamp manufacture is to search a desired color by an adequate mixing of tri-color phosphors. When a light spectrum of a phosphor is slightly changw or distorted due to process variable or when another spectrum such as from Ar, Kr or a iDosphor of calcium halo-phosphate as a first layer exist, it is even rrnre difficult to search a desired color. In this work, a rapid awuaching rrethod to a desired light color was studied. 1bree single-color fluorescent lamps and three-color-mixed fluorescent lamps with different mixing ratios were prepared and the spectra of these lamps were measured, from which the rrercury and the argon spectra were eliminatffl to obtain the rrndifiw color coordinates. From this rrndifiw color coordinate, h.lIlHl ratios of green and blue to red were correlatffl with their weight ratios. This correlation was awliw to the industrial line for single and double layer coating and proven to be valuable as a desired color matching procWure in tri-color fluorescent lamp manufacture.acture.
Development of Two-beam Type integrating Sphere Spectrophotometer and Analysis of its Performance

A spectrophotorreter using two-beam type integrating sphere is developed, and the measurerrent accuracy is analyzed. The research for retecting of insulating deterioration in transforrrer has been studied from long ago and the analysis rrethod of combustible gas which is included in insulating oil has been used Recently the spreading effect of the accident is larger than before because of high voltage and large capacity, so on-line detecting system is needed and the study for the estimation of partial discharge signals location has begun. This thesis is the study for the sermating noise signal that is the greatest problem in ultrasonic signal measurement which is one of the method of estimation of partial discharge signals location. Because we can measure the number and location of signal, it is rossible to distinguish between the signal of partial discharge and the external noise. Therefore, we can devolop the credibility of detecting of insulating deterioration in transformer.former.
Fuzzy Sliding Mode Controller for a Robot Manipulator with Passive Joints

In this paper, we proposed a fuzzy sliding mode controller for a robot manipulator with passive joints. A robot manipulator with passive joints which is not equipped with actuators is a kind of underactuated systerms. The control of underactuated manipulators is more difficult than that of fully-actuated ones. Though the sliding mode control technique has a robust charocteristics to prrarreter uncertainties and external disturbances, the chattering phenomena becorne one of the major problems in application to the real plant. plant.
Degradation Diagnosis of Complex System Using Regression Analysis

Because of internal voids in insulators give rise to partial discharge(PD), which cause local breakdown and even entire insulation breakdown. Treeing due to PD is one of the main causes of breakdown of the insulating materials and nrluction of the insulation life. 1berefore the necessity for establishing a rrethod to diagnose the aging of insulation materials and to predict the breakdown of insulation has becorne irrportant. From this viewpoint, our studies diagnose insulation degradation using the rrethod of computer sensing system, which has PD and acoustic emission(AE) sensing system. To use advantages of these two methods can be used effectiveiy to search for treeing location and PD in sorre materials. In analysis rrethod of degradation, we analyzed the PD and AE pulses by regression analysis, corrpared to these obtained the correlation coefficient and retermination coefficient by T-distribution and saw that PD and AE pulses show a similar pattern on the whole. This has a similar teIlrency to the results of the research by Yoshimura and Fujita.Fujita.

A new current controlled PWM t'||'&'||'pound;rlmique with NPC(Neutral Point Qarll)ed) structure is IrOIX>Sed in this paper. A current controlled PWM technique with neutral-JXlint-cIamped pulse-width modulation inverter composed of main switching devices which operates as switch for PWM and auxiliary switching devices to clamp the output terminal potential to the neutral point potential is described. The proposed current controller has a first and second current band The switching pattern will be made by the first current band. According to the second current band, the output state of the switching pattern is changed into positivee and negative state. This inverter output contains less hanronic content and lower switching frequency than that of conventional current controlled PWM technique at the same current limit. Thbe induction machine drive with proposed technique is investigated by commputer simulation.

Design of Adaptive Controller using Switching Mode with Fuzzy inference and its application for industry Automation Facility

This paper deals with the tracking control problem of industrial robotic manipulators with unknown or changing dynamics. The proposed method makes use of multiple moodels and switching mechanism by fuzzy inference of the manipulator in an indirect adaptive controller architecture. The models used for the indmtification of the manipliator are identical, except for the initial estimates of the unknown inertial pararmeters of the manipulator and its load. The torque input that is applied to the joint actuators is determined at every instant by the identification model that best approximates the robot dynamics. Simulation results are also included to dermnstrate the improvement in the tracking perfermance when the proposed method is used.s used.
A Study on the Fault Signal Process of Hierarchical Distributed Structure for Highway Maintenance systems using neural Network

This paper proposed a design of intelligent supervisory control systems for maintenance of highway traffic information equiprrent and processing algorithm of equiprrent fault data. The fault data of highway traffic equipment are transmitted from rerrnte supervisory controller to central supervisory system by real time, the transmitted fault data are anaIyzed the characteristic using evaluation algorithm of fault data in central supervisory system. The evaluation algorithm includes a neural network and fault knowlOOge-base for processing the multi-generated fault data. For validating the evaluation algorithm of intelligent supervisory control systems, the rrethod of analysis used to the five pattern of binary signal by transmitted real time and the opTclting user-interface constructed in central supervisory system.
An Experimental Study on a Solenoid Eddy Current Sensor to inspect Deteriorations in Overhead Distribution Lines

This paper deals with an experirrental study of a nondestructive testing system using a solenoid eddy currnet sensor to inspect deteriorations in overhead distribution lines, such as broken wires, severe local corrosion or zinc loss. Corrosion rrechanisrn for ACSR and ACSR-OC is discussed and characteristics for a solenoid sensor to insprt the georretrical pararreters of the coil and testing materials impOOance are briefly analyzed. A measurement system having a constant current source, a signal processing unit and a motor driver is impIemented. This instrument has such capabilities as detecting the sensor output and estimating dinHlsions of the testing conductors, continuously. As a result, it was shown that the eddy current sensor with an encircling coil could effectively estimate the diatreter change due to deteriorations in overhead distribution lines. lines.

It is necessary to calculate the system's factor for reasonable operation and security enhancerrent of large scale distribution system This paper presents an effective three phase load flow calculation for distribution system unbalance evaluation. Analysis of Motor Winding impact by inverter Switching Voltage Waveforms

In this paper the problems associated with the switching surge of PWM inverter devices were analysed. As the application of ASD for efficient speed control of AC rmtors is increased, so is the rrntor and ASD-related failure increased. In the industrial rmtor awlications, the introduction of PWM drives can sometmes cause insulation breakdown between the phase windings due to high transient voltage peak. The motor cable length combined with the high switching frequency becomes more sensitive issue for proper drive operation. Effects of the cable length and high switching frequency influence both on rmtor and inverter. When the insulation level of rmtor winding is low, the failure probability caused by high peak voltage and fast voltage rise times(dv/dt) is high. Voltage refloctions are simulated far rmtor capacities, ASD and rise times and are presented graphically. The filtering techniques are discussed to reduce the rmtor terminal overvoltage and dv/dt in inverter fed AC rrntor drive systems. We confirmed that the lower motar capacity and rmtar insulation level, the shorter switching time and cable length and the higrer the probability of insulation breakdown .kdown .
Optimal Selection of Transducer Locations for Active Cancelation of Noise in a Duct

The attenuation property of active noise control system is much dependent on the locations of transducers. It is very difficult to retermine the orfunal locations of transducers analytically, because the acoustic behaviors in active noise control systems are very complex and the acoustic parameters, fluid density, corqJlex propagation, coefficients, etc., are usually unknown. In this paper, effects of positions of transducers and of distances between transducers on attenuation properties of active noise control systems is investigated via computer simulations. Tbe transfer functions between the transducers are derived using the superposition principle for computer simulations. Computer simulations show that the acoustic monopole and dipole systems for duct noise attenuation are sensitive to variations of the transducer location.
A Force-Reflecting Haptic interface using Ultrasonic Motors

Throughout this thesis, I describe the design, fabrication, and evaluation of the 3 DOF farce-reflecting haptic interface using USMs(ultrasonic motors). This haptic interface allows a htmlaIl "observer" to explore and interact with a virtual environrrent for the sense of touch. To effectively display the mechanical impedance of the htmlaIl hand we need a haptic device with specific characteristics, such as low inertia, alrmst zero friction and very high stiffness. USMs have attracted considerable attention as the actuator satisfied these conditions. An observer may grasp the end effector of revice and interact with surfaces and objects created within a virtual environment The revice provires force feedback, allowing users to "feel" objects within the environment. The device works very well, as users are able to detect the edge of the wall, the stiffness of the button and the puncture. TIle force-reflecting haptic interface could be suitable as a master for micro-surgery or as an interface to virtual reality training systems.
